[REVIEW] 42037

I second that. The effort is great, but it didn't really work out with this one. -

Nice review! The music is not too bad. For me, the set is mèèèh. The color scheme doesn't appeal to me at all. But on the other hand; TLG does provide a lot of different colors this year, which is a good thing. -

Thanks! They are pretty stiff. Not meant to be bent. -
Technic Photography
Jim replied to Werlu Ulcur's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
We do have a topic about photography, but that's more about techniques, photo studios, cameras, etc. Wasn't sure whether we need a topic like this, but being fan of decent pictures myself....why not! Here are two of my personal favorites. -

Chris, please take a look at my previous post in this topic. Don't revive an old topic without adding anything to the conversation.- 777 replies

Hehe. Come to think of it; actually the wasteland theme kind of negates the purpose of the disguise. So fair enough, some basic wasteland-ready equipment is okay. As long as normal mode, stil looks like a pretty normal vehicle (no Mad Max style).

Obviously, I second Pandora! And again we are discussion Flying LEGO Machines. I am about to lock this topic, until actual progress on a MOC has been made. -

Generic Contest Discussion
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
While I absolutely agree you have a point, for me it's a trade-off between 100% fair competition, and having 8 more weeks of fun, instead of a single day. When we don't allow WIP topics, the contest is fun for a day or two (from EB's and spectators perspective). And in the end of the day, contests are all about having fun. So I hear you, and I appreciate your comment, but it's not likely that this will change in future contests. Maybe the earliest date to post a WIP topic could be postponed until four weeks after the start. This also avoids useless topics to be created right at the beginning. -
There might be Yes, of course. Little colored details are allowed, as long as they have a reason.

Indeed! Or [HELP] So according to the "Mahjqa Convention of June 2015" I will keep a close eye out for these kind of topics. And please use the Report button if you see one. -

Like Lipko said; there are some topics (mainly the ones in posted in the Index) which can be bumped any time. These topics are used to avoid having a million similar topics. Here's the Index, it's pinned: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=81075 -
No need to excuse yourself When I wrote the rules I stated that colors can be used, but then I saw the picture (the one I posted) and I thought "that's not what I had in mind". Enforcers should be Black & White, with grey to help you out. Colored parts in the chassis will likely be visible, which I'd like to avoid when the model is an Enforcer. Like you said; when I allow colors in the chassis, we will probably get a discussion about what is the chassis and what is the bodywork. So it's easier to keep it simple, and only allow Black, White and Grey. And most people will have enough grey to work with, so it's not that you need to buy a ton of extra parts. And if you do like to use colors, choose sides with the Bandits.
-
Of course you can use the blue pins. What I'm trying to avoid is that an Enforcer car clearly shows red, green, yellow parts etc. So colored pins and bushes are allowed, but try to avoid using colored connectors (if they are visible). Is that doable/acceptable? I'd like to avoid this:

Agreed!! -
In the rules I had written that both sides can use any color in the chassis. I have to correct myself. Both sides can use grey in the chassis, but the Enforcers are not allowed to use other colors than black, white and grey. My bad, sorry.

I totally agree with your Mahjqa, and since lots of other members agree as well, I will be less tolerant about it. No need to flood the forum with empty topics.
