  1. When I find some time, I can make it orange. Not sure if I will do that for the review, since the Porsche is at my work and I hope to finish the review Sunday.
  2. Ahhh that. I will work on that after I finish the reviews. Sneak peak!
  3. I am aiming at Sunday, but I still need to most of the write-up. No guarantees, but I will do my best. My nephews are at our for a sleep over and they can't stop playing with both sets. It's for the first time that have observed kids playing with Technic for a longer time and it's quite interesting. Hopefully tonight, tomorrow morning and Sunday will leave me with enough time to finish the review.
  4. I am implying (told by TLG) that toys these days have vibrant colors. This is for a reason. They appeal to kids more than regular red and blue etc. So when moms and dads (and kids) are in a toy store the LEGO sets need to be at least as appealing as the RC cars and other toys. That is one of the reasons (apart from us begging for years) that TLG is using more and more different (vibrant and/or bright) colors. Hehe, that is quite a feat I have just shot about ten different wheel setups and some of them look really cool.
  5. If you like to know more, we can continue the discussion in one of the two topics about it. In short; yes, I do use the same setup. Although shooting the (box for the) BWE or 42070 does reach the limits of my backdrop. The 42009 was probably the most challenging to shoot, due to the size of the crane.
  6. I see what you mean, but I do think that keeping the stickers (mostly) on the black panels results in some sort of balance. But you can definitely skip the stickers too see how it looks without. Just finished the 360 degree viewer for the 42069 and I can't stop spinning it
  7. Since I was working on a 360 degree view of the 42069, I suddenly wondered why I use 800 instead of 1024. There are several Photography topics (see the index), but this one is the most relevant:
  8. Not long ago we only had this: We have evolved to this I know they are completely different vehicles, but let's imagine you are a kid in a toy store....
  9. Children don't like all black. This color is very appealing to them. Even my girlfriend likes it and I have had a girl and her mother visiting us and they both also really liked it and explicitly commented on the color. So, I think TLG did the right thing. And trust me...the photo would not have looked as cool when it was all black. Agreed. Exactly my experience Thanks for the offer, but I will do a better job proofreading my review this time. If you find stuff, feel free to PM or post. Would 1024 as default image size for my reviews be too big? (my default now is 800 wide) Compared to:
  10. Hehe. I wasn't too enthusiastic about the Unimog. You remembered correctly. Maybe I need to rebuild it and learn to love it. Sorry, quite off topic.
  11. Still working on the write-up. I have had a busy week, so I couldn't find time to finish it earlier. I can tell you that 4 kids in the age of 4-6 have just been playing with it the entire night. So it definitely scored high on playability. Higher than I expected.
  12. Sure. You have to build something with LEGO Technic Not 100% sure about the concept, so no hints yet.
  13. I will finish the reviews first. After that I will contact TLG about prizes (when Kim is back from his holiday) and I will try to arrange some prizes. After that we can get a new contest up-and-running.
  14. My pleasure! While I do understand your opinion and I tend to agree, we sometimes forget that big Technic sets aren't for AFOLs only. Like I said in my review; I had a buddy co-building with me and sometimes even @Kitty (my partner) helps me out. It is interesting to observe the building process. Kitty tends to confuse dbg with black, so sometimes she is "missing" a piece later on. Overall, she is very meticulous, but these things happen. That's probably why TLG is color coding liftarms (and axles) more and more. We do need to take into consideration that these are the people who also will be building Technic sets, for themselves or for their kids. The unfinished look and hefty price have nothing to do with this of course, I am 100% with you on that one. Claas + Volvo is a no brainer. So of the most fantastic Technic sets for the price of a mediocre one. A picnic basket? --- On a more positive note; the battery box compartment easily fits the rechargeable battery pack or BuWizz
  15. There's a very similar topic in Historic themes. I will close this topic.
  16. Me too, but that doesn't involve LEGO (at the most, I am saving some money)
  17. Now that is what I am talking about....your storage system. I prefer mine this way too (as you might have seen). This is so convenient. Oh, and nice work on the X-wing
  18. That's basically what I said in my review
  19. Great review, as always. I concur with your assessment. This set/review is worth a frontpage
  20. Check out this video review by @Sariel. It's clear that the designer has Eurobricks roots
  21. I will move it to Train.
