  1. I've been watching UnbrickMe's YouTube videos for like two years. Kind of good to see someone got the 42139 and 42140 sets early to give us a review. This guy is good and is improving except for the fact that he quite persistently thinks the 42114 aka Volvo A60H is the best set ever that Lego produced which he also wanted to claim under a different username here in EB and got bashed for it in 2020 iirc Besides that I have no problem with most of his views and thoughts. While it is kind of good and feels fresh to see he triedgiving a building process review similar to Racingbrick I think no one does it better than Balazs himself. As for the set (from his perspective),it seem nice and fluid. A good spiritual successor to last year's C+ Buggy. BTW, will it only flip when it faces resistances/obstacles or the user will also have the power to flip it according to his choice?
  2. Apparently a lot of people mistook the 12t gear for the 8z when building the gearbox of 42110. Casual builders when rushing a bit can easily make that mistake since the printed instruction shows the 8t gear a bit darker than what I personally think it should be.
  3. That is one seriously cool MOC. It is packed with functions making the Ford Raptor more worthy to buy IMO. All the functions seem solidly working.
  4. Just saw the gearbox in a closer detail. It is a very simple clever and super safe gearbox which includes 20t blue clutch to 12t for second gear and 16t clutch to16z gear for neutral and first gear. The speed difference between this two gears is sufficiently noticeable. Interesting enough it was shown in the video by Grohl as part of his Lego Technic for Dummies! Youtube series. I used this gearbox for like 5 months on my [then] Defender and it [quite naturally] worked consistently well. Except for C+ vehicles [the Volvo A60H], UCS 1/8 scales and the latest two bikes I dont remember if Lego ever used a transmission gearbox since the Defender 42110 which are function oriented. I am pretty much sure for this tight parts counted medium sized gem it will definitely work Okay.
  5. First the 42130 and then the 42125GT RCing. Gotta say you are making those sets quite useful. Keep up the good work!
  6. I noticed that too. The two little sets (telescopic loader and the bike), the 42139 and the introduction to the new and useful parts are all the highlights for 22H1 for me. I just hope the 42139 (all on a sudden) does not come out with any major flaws.
  7. Just noticed. One was praising how awesome the C+ app is, the rest two are not! Jokes aside, this is probably to subtly emphasis the set's transformation capabilities. There is also a ship which is probably stuck in the ice frost even before the set was announced
  8. Today is 9th Feb, my C61042 is one year old! The gearbox is amazing it does not show any gradual louder noise over time or any skip/cracking. For the differential I kept the Cada one and changed the 20t Double Bevel with Lego one. The Lego 20t meshes smoothly with the differential. You love it when you building it. You will love it more after you've built it.
  9. Fell in love with the build. One question though: how am I supposed to use the Top Steering when that black beam is positioned right on top of it? Is it kind of modular like that black beam can be taken apart when steering...
  10. Man. Look at that chrome connectors parts with those spiked ones. Watched a couple of videos on YT and I think the parts definitely got improved although the friction quality of 2L black/blue axle-pins yet to be seen.
  11. So, it's the F1 McLaren! https://www.facebook.com/LEGOTechnic/photos/a.147546508964773/1514337348952342/
  12. After coming out of my dark age (in 2019, back then I was 35) I have started my journey with Lego only with Technic (I have plans to do some retro Lego system and Model Team sets later) theme. Since then I have managed to have 9 sets in my collection. The first being the Lego 42110. Howevr, I always kept an eye on the newest reviews by Sariel and speed build of brickbuilder and also, would visit the EB forums regularly (without registering as a member) for the most part of 2010's. I miss some EB veterans like Blackbird and also @Vectormatic (where is this guy these days?). As AllanP has said 2015-2016 indeed were warm days for the last decade. Oh, I will never forget the discussions that was held for pages here in the EB for the 42056 which although had its initial quirks but steadily became an iconic 1/8 scale car after getting loves (otherwise known as Mods) from the AFOL community. I also want to add that 2018 was also a solid year mainly for the initial release of the 42078 and 42077 (the latter got huge love too) and in the middle the Big Red crane. Those non-licensed non-branded sets were very solid performer. The above was like a reintroduction of myself to the EB forums. Now, to answer the questions: 1. I do not get tired of the same "slots/vehicle types" because from my experience Lego do bring something new/improvement to the vehicle (although not always in the way we want). It is a bit clumsy, that's to say the most. 2. These are my top sets that I honestly think everyone (includes me) should build at least once in their lifetime: 8868 (Air Tech Claw Rig) 8880 (recently built this, the gearbox, the engine, the very well thought well designed suspensions system, the mesmerising experience building the back structure and all the studded beam based body parts- all are awesome) 42043 (just for the sake of building experience) 8480 (Space Shuttle) 42056 (with all the mods) 42110 (again, the building experience is amazing although the gearbox and some body modules are temperamental) 8043 (from function and looks wise it does not look to me like it was released little more than a decade ago) With my phase one complete (2019-2021) I am now looking forward to build some more retro and most loved studded/studless builds hopefully.
  13. Looks awesome! Question: is the 42083 (Chiron) enough to build this MOC?
  14. The beauty of non branded non licensed non C+ (until it becomes more better and sense making) Lego kits. Sariel and Racingbrick (and also elementary) reviews will be hopefully up by late Febraury (Sariel confirmed his review dates on his FB page).
  15. That grabber arm movement is epic, more like a robot and also the hopper opening. The body tilting speed is fine, if only the operation could have been a bit smoother. Overall- I have watched the video thrice! Awesome job.
  16. Since 2019 (my journey starts after coming out of dark age) till now I have 9 sets so far in my collection. The list might not excite you The first three sets of my collection are: 42110>42115>C61042 While the last three ones: 8280>8880>42128. With these nine sets my Phase I is complete, still ironing out and understanding the limitations and issues of the remaining ones. Looking for the 42139 and will closely observe the 42142 and 42144 I am yet to grab a 8868 and also seriously considering the 8043. Now you see how it started and where it is going... Anyhoo, my 3 most flawless (till to date) sets/MOCs are: 42110 Jeep Bruiser conversion (the build is rock solid, with few tweaks and immense help from the designer himself it becomes more better) 8880 (already a solid build with a few little quirks in the suspension system which are fixed after couple a tries) 42128 (with few tweaks and all the mistakes ironed out thanks to the EB members) Sorry guys for the off-topic. Now continue on the 42128 tow truck
  17. @Ngoc Nguyen definitely the black crooked pins had smthing to do with the hood's right white long panel being that gap-y. I replaced the 2 corresponding crooked ones with the good ones and they are significantly reduced as the problem was twofold- the long white panel is not as grippy as the left one. But it is now much better. If I don't get to be happy even after this one, I am not hooman Howevr, it turns out it to be actually spread. As Void S instructed I was adjusting the synchronization of the right front actuator (and that problem is now fixed). In the process of doing so, I also found this Not a big fuss to make about, but I am now pretty sure this crooked pin definitely has its effect here and there inside and outside this awesome Truck. With all my functioning problems solved and a few tweaks here and there this set has now become one of three most flawless sets/MOCs in my collection (with crooked effects ).
  18. I am pumped up both for the new battery-box and the controller! Umm....also an update for your next supercar would be awesome
  19. It is the same 7.4V as Lvdh said but can handle motors much better i.e., the new buggy motors. And no, it did not gain proportional control but according to Cada's FB page/group, they are working on it. So, that's a positive.
  20. Let Volvo have some rest 😛 and hope it'd strike back as a proper (or spiritual) successor to the A60H Volvo truck in the next year(s). I seriously think that automatic transmission that Lego introduced in that set needs a sequel.
  21. Absolutely loving that. It sounds a necessity for me.
  22. Hello, I have this observation, more like a log: The C61042 I got was missing one L Motor and the battery-box. Cada was kind enough to send me the missing parts with a remote control too. I resumed my building and completed it on February 9, 2021. This marks the longest time that a set in my collection did not need to rebuild/take apart/convert to another MOC. So, my C61042 is (almost) one year old! After building the set, I have run it twice or maybe thrice during February and March 2021. Every time I ran it for like 3/4/5 minutes. In April and May I was away. In June, I came back and one day took it out to test. Everything was fine except when the car is moved backward while steered left or right, it was really slow. Super slow in gear 1 and in gear 2. In gear 3, it was noticeably less slow. When driven straight forward/backward, and driven forward while steered left or right the set moves just fine. I did not bother. Few months passed. Towards the end of October/beginning of November I noticed the car struggles to move after around two and a half minutes. I took the battery-box to charge 3/4 hours at 5V-2A and it kept happening just after it hits about 2 and a half minutes. Another note, the struggle always would start when moved backward and eventually forward and backward. In December, as I have planned before I ordered a brand new Cada Pro Motor Pro set which I received few days ago. The reason I bought Pro Motor Pack is twofold. I wanted to replace the battery-box and that L Motor Pro that Cada sent as I honestly thought they were not new. But hey, they were kind enough to send me the parts even though I did not buy directly from their store/website. I needed electronics to test gearbox of my other sets and also to test something I create by my own, and I thought this Pro Pack could be a nice alternative to already discontinued Lego PF stuffs. Curiously, last night I took out the set and tested it only to discover the phenomena I described above was linked to the battery-box. I thought of this because when the set struggles to push it the red light of the battery box blinked. Each struggle= one blink. As I have planned before, I took out the brand new battery box, charged it for straight 8 hours. The reason I kept it with the charger that long is I read somewhere a brand new battery-box may need 8 hours of charge for its first use. Howevr, after around 2 hours, the green light was continuously lit and the charger was not warm, but I kept it for 8 hrs anyway Then I replaced the old one with the new one and voila! The struggle is gone. And guess what! I ran the set for straight 11 minutes! But that is not what I want. My demand is simple: I will charge it for 3/4 hours and will test/run the set for 5 minutes, once (or maybe twice) in every month as it is primarily a display set. No more than that. If the new battery-box continues to provide me that I will be very happy. It is also noteworthy, even though the old battery-box struggled after a certain time, I managed to get around 15 minutes of playtime from it by making a 12 hr break and a few hrs break in December. What I mean is if I charged the battery-box for 3/4 hours it was possible for me to run the car more than once with 4/5 minutes of playtime with breaks. Howevr, the problem of the car's moving backward very slowly when steered absolute left or right is still present. Next, I will replace the L motor that Cada sent with the brand new one. All these maybe easily mitigated by using Buwizz (very expensive for me, so no plans for buying it now) and using 2 additional motors on each side. Since this is my only brick set with electronics and I am slowly learning/getting used to them, it'll take some time before I might jump on to that speed-horse. This is an observation. No whining or criticism. Me very happy with this set. Any feedback/suggestion for the phenomena that is still present is appreciated.
  23. Yes, p.42 step 7 is where you would be putting those two plates on. It was broken down in two boxed instructions to put them on the left and right sides. I was in a dilemma as to which side I should put the stickered one I chose left
