  1. My bad, I wanted to mean "to make them look more realistic"
  2. I kind of find this amusing. Lego (and MOCs) started producing RC vehicles wayy before the EV vehicles even become a thing. And now that all the real life vehicles tend to have gone EVfied Lego seem to keep the spirit/legend of huge transmission non RC 1:8 supercars with the UCS super/hypercars :3 BTW I guess next year's 1:8 should have even more realistic brake caliper- for sure BTW I think Lego is currently toying around with all the prototypes of upcoming 1:8 scale car. Wondering if there is even a possibility of leak/rumors of that development.
  3. That could be done. I guess it could potentially avoid any worse situation for the customers in the future. Howevr, for a part which is already used by Cada and now gets out of the bag as a patented one can pave the way to some troubles. Lets see. Hopefully, in the meantime Brunojj1 will come up successful with something wayy smarter as a solution for orange rotary part.
  4. Yupe, that thing is huge. I am looking forward to the live stream centering around it. Looks like it is (almost) time I got pumped up for upcoming Cada bad boys. I am sorry Brunojj1 for kinda hijacking your car thread. It seems this one single thread is just not enough to discuss everything Cada
  5. Thnx! So many MK sets this year compared to Cada (of course quality and conscience matter). Last year it was 2 big bad boys from Cada. This year it should happen again
  6. They are improving n' getting smarter in the right direction but, no new 1:8 big cars this year?
  7. Judging by the rumored piece count, I think it will again have a 2-speed gearbox. Also, I expect to have news of the 1:8 supercar by the end of 2022 January, because that is when the first image of Sian got out/leaked iirc.
  8. Hey, as you know Grohl is building the unofficial B model of the set you can see from the video (at around 2:22 mins mark) the turning radius is quite good. I mean even if it happens to be limited it did not look that bad or as bad as the Zetros.
  9. Just to know out of curiosity and to add to this slightly off-topic (yet worthy enough), why Markus Kossmann has to do the duties for two important sets for the same quarter for Lego Technic? Has there been a recent releases from Lego Technic Design team? Don't get me wrong, MK's designs are awesome, it is just that why the same man for more than one set within the same H2 period just wonders me...
  10. Thanks a lot to everyone for their responses, advises, insights and helps. I think this thread can be used as a reference thread to anyone who is willing to (spray)paint their Lego Technic parts but are legitimately hesitated. From all the responses what I acquire is this: It would be best not to (spray)paint Lego. If it has to be, then it better be an extreme case or it should be the parts which are a portion of the set that are not frequently accessed (i.e., clutching the pins), the wheels, and, are not intended for resale. And, if the latter ones are the cases, then it is better to practice it on old parts, have to make sure what I'm doing. Here, patience and practice are actually quite mandatory to get a good/satisfactory results. Again thanks to all specially @syclone and @LvdH
  11. The question is just what it is. Before posting the new thread I searched a bit and found this thread where several EB vets advised not to pain the Lego. I understand. However, it was a 2012 thread. These days, more specifically with 42115 I have seen some amazing spray paint-job on the 1:8 supercar. And more recently, the spraying on the wheels of Defender. So, this brings back the question again, is it worth/safe painting the Technic? Are the opinions still the same or changed the views?
  12. Indeed. I'm looking forward to both Sariel's and Racingbrick's video reviews.
  13. Exactly. The seats' design also seems pretty dull and lazy for an 18+ sets. I thought cough...18+ casual builders...cough like gorgeously detailed seats/interiors than any complexity.[sarcasm]. I also agree about the black background. That is why I at least do not dislike it on Cat D11T's box. I have this feeling the set will soon have lots of MOCs and some even with RCing it. But yes, it is another matter. The more a sets looks and feels (performance) well and nice out of the box the better it receives praises. The 42128 is an example I think.
  14. Surprisingly Sariel actually praised the set. That review is there for a quite a while though.
  15. I honestly think Grohl understood the way Zetros was being produced and priced it'd affect/displease a lot of Technic fans. So, the designer, I guess, started to work on a B model even before/just after the product is Launched. More like a treat from the designer. Not the first time Grohl did this I think. The RCing of Defender and Stadium truck B model were released subsequently and within a few months of the official release respectively, if I recall it correctly. Howevr, situation changed a bit. 1. People were not desperately looking for a MOC immediately after the release of 42110 as they are now for the Zetros and 2. Unlike the stadium truck, the G Wagon instructions probably would not be free. The latter is understandable since MOC's increased popularity among general purchasers that developed in the last few years/several months. Grohl has every right to charge a nice (not so) little amount for this B model. But, if the instructions were free it would add value more properly to the 42129 set. Just my humble impression. In the end, it's good for all of us. Grohl's finesse is something that makes a set's MOC more solid and valuable
  16. It is subjective. This is the first (and till now only) 18+ tagged set package that I liked. The bulldozer looks cool with the black background.
  17. @Void_S @syclone It often wonders me who are these people Lego targets with 18+ concept? Someone (sarcasm and humor included) who does not like beautiful (although sometimes unnecessarily exciting) background, instead they prefer dark and black one who is not too inclined to build a detailed headlight because last time they had had hard time with Defender's lights. They think slapping a sticker would be cool! who thinks gearbox is not needed at all who thinks building and having fun is all. Lets have it rest in peace in the shelves (and maybe rebuild it 6 months later) Thanks God! They don't mind play-able steering About the last point, I think it is possible to slap a really simple yet cough....18+ effective gearbox with just 2 speeds. I agree and I know the transmission of Defender was complicated and required 100% attention for building the chassis (please those who got it right, don't come up with it was simple, you cant follow instructions bla bla bla please stay away, this post is not for you), a millimeter's misalignment and the gearbox goes wrong. However, this cannot happen if an abovementioned type of gearbox is introduced. My concern is even though it maybe okay to have the 1:8 lard scale supercars mainly 18+ and display queenies, the rest of the scale cars like Flexari and Raptor did not have to follow the same path. Yes, there are people (probably) who demand less costly 1:8-ish display cars however, I am afraid Lego will soon turn a crane to a display queen too where they used to happily put a distribution gearbox couple a years ago 😛 Dare I say, we might see a movable/turnable cup-holder in between seats for the 2022 Supercars with extreme level of details (that may need a mod by jb70 lol). I personally have had hard times with Defender's gearbox. So, I started to build it right from the scratch with many micro-mods with a way simple gearbox that probably is laughable to some. But it does okay, it steers both ways, it's AWD, it has 3 diffs, has (now) super-simple gearbox and drivetrain, has the same gorgeous suspension, has even more gorgeous body details. A proper 18+ set from my perspective. We need more (simplified) Defenders!
  18. A 1:10 scale car/jeep with sequential/manual gearbox with AWD with play-able steering (with no stickers) is all I wish to see in 2022 besides all the C+ sloths and the next 1:8 scale (almost good for nothing) supercar.
