Very creative. It looks just like him. I've been wanting to try my hand at mosaics, but I haven't had the time to try it out yet. If I ever will, that is. I see no problem with using larger plates. Other than the little space between the bricks to make it look pixelated, I don't really see the problem. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see more!

I like what someone said about maybe they will start getting discounted to make way for other themes this year. I don't necessarily want a lot of these sets, but if I could pick them up on a discount I would actually consider buying them. Unfortunately that would eat up my budget for the other themes..hmm, what to do. I really want that triceratops, but for a lot less than $50.

Monster Fighters 2012
TheLegoDr replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
After seeing some photos of the fighters, I can say once again that I am excited for this theme. I originally was excited only for the monsters, but now I actually want the fighters also. Plus, the prelim photos of the sets looked like it had some decent parts for creations. It looks like August is the official release date? I guess that gives me time to save up money for LOTR and Monsters.. -
Very neat build. I really like the color scheme. The windows are a nice touch too. My favorite part is the snowblower though! Interesting concept for a build. I suppose minifigures would like to play with Lego as well. Keep up the good work.

Nice little build. The major thing I would add is sloped windows above the other windows so it is letting light in over the plants and whatever else they are growing in there. Otherwise, keep it up!

Very clever build techniques there! I am impressed at such a small scale tumbler! Keep up the great work.

Oh, sorting... I think it is never ending as well. I have 15 unopened sets still that aren't built or sorted and I don't know if/when I will get around to doing either of those options. Normally when I sort I put on a movie I've already seen. I don't mind the distraction because I would think just sorting with no other noises would be rather tedious and boring. With the movie, it fills a small void. But at the same time, I rarely have time to sort. For the most part, I can find the pieces I need looking through my small boxes of unsorted bits, so it isn't a major problem. Everything that is sorted, is sorted by color. Eventually when I get a drawer system going I will sort it by color and further by size or select pieces I would use more of. We shall see. I've never counted all my pieces, how do you go about doing that?

I don't think anything slides around here . People have a keen eye 'round these parts. As far as the torso. I much prefer the newer one as a torso, but it is limited to only females. The older one at least could be used for a man or woman since it is lacking the curves. Good find. I hadn't really pictured that one before.

I doubt it would be that controversial since they have already released a barmaid and have promoted alcohol. It was a part of life back in Medieval times. Keg and Barmaid. So they may release a barmaid, but since they have in other sets, they probably would do the laderhousen first.

After seeing the prelim photos, I was taken aback. After seeing the newer toyfair pictures, I am really impressed. So many people are complaining about the sets, but I see nothing wrong with them. They are traditional lego. I have no problem with prefab wall pieces. I actually enjoyed building King's Castle and I really like the outcome. Helm's Deep will be a similar build I expect. I have never been into MOCing until more recently and these sets will be great parts packs for that purpose. But I think the sets will stand out on their own for their source material. They look pretty close to what I would expect. I don't know, maybe I'm too easy to please. Maybe I'm not a big enough LOTR fan to worry about every little detail they didn't cover. I don't know. What I do know is that this theme will rock the socks off of Lego fans. Of course the minifigures are the selling point. They are iconic to this wonderful story. If they removed the minifigures from every Star Wars, Harry Potter, PotC set, would people still buy them??? Yes, but not nearly enough to keep the company afloat. Everyone wants to see these characters in minifigure form, myself included. The only thing I worry about is the overall cost. Yes, the piece count is quite high in a lot of these sets so that will push the price higher. But at the same time, I like getting lots of pieces. I don't want to spend a fortune only on the minifigures. I want some substance to go with it so I can have a use for the minifigures. As far as people being upset about Gandalf's cart. I would very much like having a cart. Especially since I only recently got back into Lego, so I missed out on many carts in the previous themes. So this will be a welcomed set, especially with having Gandalf and Frodo and a horse! I wasn't this excited initially. The more I see it, the more exciting it is. August can't come soon enough!

I love Hawkeye, but I agree completely. This version will be pretty boring until we get the purple version (if). I should have stated that clearer.

MOD: 6862 Superman vs. EXTRA-powered armor Lex
TheLegoDr replied to Tereglith's topic in LEGO Licensed
That is amazing. I already wanted to get that set, now I really want to modify it like yours! Very impressive. Knees make the world go round. -
A nice addition to the Winter Village. I really like the shape and design. The coloring is much different than most winter builds, which is good since we don't want everything to look alike. Keep up the great work!

Very impressive! I like the landscaping, but that cherry blossom is amazing. Keep up the great work.

That poster is amazing. I was really shocked signing in and seeing that! Merry and Pippin look the best IMO, but they all look great. I know he isn't in the Fellowship, but for whatever reason I picture Theoden instead of Boromir. I know it is Boromir, but I can't help but picture that face as Theoden's. All the rest, I can easily see the actual actor in these figures. From a distance Legolas really looks like Orlando Bloom. What if Legolas happened to run into Will Turner??? Would the world collapse on itself? I can't wait to see these sets in person. I definitely am excited for these now. I was iffy before, but now I will be buying all of them. Good thing I'm not in love with some of the other themes this year like I originally planned. C'mon Lego, keep them coming!

Monster Fighters 2012
TheLegoDr replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
After seeing these images, I am really excited for these sets. I like how the monsters are similar enough to the CMFs, but different to be their own entity. I plan on buying these and will forget about purchasing all the CMF monsters now. Whoo! -
After seeing these, I'm not as excited as I initially was. I love Marvel, but I am torn on these. I'll have to hold the box in my hands to decide if I want them or not. I haven't purchased the new Batman sets because I wasn't in love with them. I am excited for Hawkeye in Lego form though.

I don't see a trash can per se, but I assume you are meaning this piece or this piece. Hope that helps.

Very nice update. Just a few little changes and the entire MOC is different. A great first effort!
-
Very clever build. I like the overall shape and color usage. Keep up the good work. Hope she likes it.

Very impressive build! I know nothing about that particular Dragon, but this is amazing. I am thoroughly impressed. Keep up the great work.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
TheLegoDr replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That would make sense. Every Wal-mart around here has TONS of series 5 still and no sign of series 6. Granted, TRU and Target and Shopko do not have any series 6 either, so maybe they just haven't reached this part of the country yet. Too bad I didn't want lots of extras of series 5, I'd be swimming in them. -
A great addition to the Winter Village. A very nice build that fits right in with the others. I really like the detailing between the windows. I hadn't thought of that before, but it looks good. The color scheme works really well. Keep up the good work. Good luck.

A great addition to the Modular series. I really like the design/shape of the butcher shop windows. I may have to borrow that idea sometime. I really like the looks of the interior, especially the front case by the register. Keep up the great work. It looks like it fits right in. I can't wait to see more!

Very nice build. I haven't seen too many car dealerships in Lego form. It looks really nice compared to all the real life dealerships I've seen around here. Normally they are pretty boring, but this one is looking good. You almost want to buy a car from them just because they look nicer than the competition. Keep up the good work.
