On Brickset it shows sets 30085, 30086, 30087 Does anyone know anything about these? I'd much rather find these to get the figures as opposed to some of the sets. Thanks

That makes a lot of sense to me from a business perspective since they are releasing so many new sets this year, plus the competition between two superhero brands. But it stinks for the people that can't afford sets right away. That only leaves a few months to stock up on the current sets. I'm not in love with all of the Batman sets, but I do want some of them. We'll see how it goes prior to April release.

Last night we bought 2504-1 Spinjitzu Dojo on clearance at Target. I never wanted it before, but my wife showed me a few clearance sets, so I thought about it while we were in the store and decided to get it. It is still unopened. I'll have to think about it some more. I don't love Ninjago, but it has enough architectural detail to resemble Fire Temple without having to spend a fortune. The problem with clearance is I would buy sets that I normally wouldn't buy just because it is cheaper. I never would have considered it at full price. Oh well, I guess that is how Lego pulls you in!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
TheLegoDr replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I used that DCPI and it came up as available. But nowhere in the store that I could see had any of the packets. I was in a hurry so I didn't see any employees to look it up, but I am assuming they have them in the back but not out for sale? Or the search isn't accurate. Anyway, thanks for the number. Hopefully it will help someone on here. -
Nice MOC. It adds some dimension with that giant pit. And good job collecting that many Romans. They haven't even arrived near me yet to begin looking.

What % of your Lego Collection is Pirate?
TheLegoDr replied to TheLegoChronicler's topic in LEGO Pirates
I really have no idea. I only have the old pirates sets and then the new IFS, so that really brings my percentage down. And looking through my old instructions pile, I don't have as many of the pirates sets I thought I did. So I am guessing around 11-20%. Castle wins for sure, then old school city probably. -
I'm not as impressed with the Marvel figures as I was expecting. Sure, those aren't the actual figures, but they give us a pretty good idea of what to expect. The Hulk should be okay for a molded piece. I think Wolverine is spot on! Although you'd think they would use the pieces from PoP for the Wolverine claws. But I like these better since they are new. Captain America is good enough I suppose. I haven't read the comics or seen the movie, so I don't know what to expect with him. I feel Iron Man is by far the worst, just because of his helmet. And I agree with what others have said, if his torso had some armor that filled him out a little more, the helmet wouldn't look out of place, but as it is, it is really out of place. I can't wait to see Loki the most, especially if they have his helmet. I will buy multiples of that if they do it justice. And I am excited to see other X-Men down the road!

Very clever and creative. I like the whole set-up. Keep up the good builds! -
REVIEW : 5000030 Kendo Jay
TheLegoDr replied to Nebsirob's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It was a nice gift for free, that's for sure. But I don't know if I would have purchased it separately. I wanted the new ninja versions, but now I'm not so sure. I like to second-guess my decisions a lot when it comes to purchases. I originally wanted the Destiny's Bounty, but holding the box in hand I didn't care as much. So who knows. But thank you for the review. It covers everything well. I do like some of the weapons. Keep up the reviews! -
That is very clever and unique. I am unable to view anything on this work computer. But that is brilliant. It's nice to see Lego in every aspect of our lives.

Ideas for New Action Themes
TheLegoDr replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
They could conceivably do this theme since they have deals with Disney already in place. They also have the new minotaur mold. They would need to do a centaur mold (which I would really want!), but they already have a horse mold, so a centaur mold couldn't be that difficult. And it has a castle like feel to it all, so that seems to do well with Lego. -
Great job on the van and the cast. Shaggy and the snippet of Scoobs looks great! Keep up the good work!

Ideas for New Action Themes
TheLegoDr replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I would be a huge supported for something involving any of the aforementioned: Cavemen: it would be brilliant to reuse some molds from the Dino theme. Plus, it would help out with them doing them in the CMF. African savannah: Brilliant again. The different animal molds would be awesome. I like my daughter's Duplo animals. If only they weren't as cartoony. Adventure-esque set in a different time/region: Again, this would be great to get some variety. Jungle: Anything for more foliage! But with the new forest fire sets, you get maybe a tree trunk and some flames. So I doubt TLG would be willing to give us easy access to foliage pieces. -
We typically buy sets because we like the pieces and/or minifigures. Typically I stick to just a few themes unless the pieces are so worthwhile to me. Most of the sets have been purchased to be built, then after a while they get torn down for part usage. But some sets are strictly parts only. And some sets get built and never torn apart. I have Kings Mountain Fortress still together since whenever it came out. I found it in a tote that way, so that is interesting. I want to get into MOCing, so most sets will be used for that purpose. But I have yet to really dive into it since I have very little time for this hobby, other than purchasing new sets and stockpiling them.

That is amazing. I've been trying to figure out a good way to make a brick built dragon without using prefab heads. I would be shaking my fist at you for making such a beautiful creation. But instead, I will congratulate you and try to use it as inspiration for something for me. It is very colorful (as a fantastical dragon should be) and everything seems to be the right proportions. Brilliantly done. Keep up the good work. I will check back often.

Very clever build. I really like the wing pieces as roofing structure. It looks very dilapidated for sure. Keep up the good builds.
-
Very detailed build. I like the dark colors used for foliage and roofing. Very interesting to see. Keep up the good work.
-
Very creative classic castle build. The tower itself is very nice, especially with the red and black. I like the roof, as simple as it is. Keep up the good work.
-
I like the corner steps and the window treatments. Overall good build so far. I can't wait to see more. And those minifigs look like they will fit right in. I've always liked the Western theme. I wonder if they will ever revive it. Keep up the good work.

Do any of your significant others share your love of Lego?
TheLegoDr replied to dark1san's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My wife wasn't opposed to the idea of legos when I came out of my dark ages at the end of 2010. Over 2011 she has become more receptive and actually tells me we should go look for the CMFs at different stores. It was her idea to hit up Lego clearance after Christmas. And now this year, she is starting to really like the Friends sets, so we might be getting some of those for her. So, she doesn't share my obsession, but she is understanding of it. -
Well, it looks like everyone was right when they kept saying Town Hall. I think it looks amazing and TALL. It fits right in with the Fire Brigade (which is the only modular I have, and the only modular I wanted). Which means, I will want to get this. It just seems to fit in better with that, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too out of place with the other modulars. I've considered the GE and Pet Shop, but they seem too "contemporary" compared to the older buildings. I guess I have a soft spot for older architecture. The color scheme works well. And I really like the size, but that means a higher price tag right? Even though Pet Shop was smaller with the same price, surely they won't give more pieces for less money. Anyway, can't wait to see more Hi-Res pictures and get it when it comes out.

The face looks awesome. The poster is really neat. I can't wait to see more. And I will welcome new sword molds with open arms..or maybe armored arms so I don't get cut up.
-
I love sand colors too! I only have sand green at the moment though, but the rest are beautiful. Nice little scene you have here. I don't think they will survive those zombies. Keep up the good work.

I like the window scheme and the atm. Looks very clever. Keep up the good work.

That bbq grill is awesome! And not really out of scale. The overall building is nicely built, but I don't know if I can see it as a pub. Keep up the good work!
