  1. ZO6 The popularity of the CMF shows how powerful the minifig is in collecting/buying Lego. I typically will buy a set for minifigures first and the bricks are a bonus (if they are useful anyway), whereas you buy the bricks and the figures are a bonus. There is something for everyone, and TLG gets money either way. I originally wanted the Ghost Train also, but I would much rather get the polybag and/or the Haunted Mansion (if it comes with ghosts like in the screenshot) for the ghosts and not waste the money on that set, which I then could put towards a different set that I would want even more. I would end up getting extra Fighters with exclusive Ghosts plus extra train pieces I would never use again, so the ghost polybag is perfect for someone like me.
  2. 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack, 9489 Endor Rebel Trooper Battle Pack, 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack, 8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack. It was time to do some catch up I suppose. My mom purchased the Mandalorian BP because she thought it looked cute, otherwise I probably wouldn't have added that one to my collection. The other three are awesome though.
  3. Thanks for the review. I already planned on getting this set, but this review just clinches it further. The figures look amazing (naturally). The build itself looks quite extensive and detailed, which is again no surprise. I love the sand green coloring with the light stone gray. Even the brick built doors are awesome. I can't wait for this set. The price is actually really good compared to what it could have been being licensed and a castle. I think Haldir might be my favorite figure from this line, but I will have to wait and see everyone together up close and personal.
  4. This is amazing. The detail is spot-on. The hands look like human hands even! You should redo it with a lego hand Just kidding. This is beautiful. Be proud of what you created. Keep up the great work!
  5. I haven't seen most of those pictures before, so thanks for sharing. Those books look sweet. It makes me sad how much Lego has changed over the years. Yes, we have more detailed prints and figures and pieces, but I will always miss the late 80s/early 90s when I was growing up with them. Crusaders/Falcons/Black Knights/Forestmen... too many great factions to forget. Some of the castles look exactly like something I would be impressed with when they first came out. It was a nice nostalgic feeling seeing these.
  6. I definitely like the newer images of Spiderman. I am not a huge fan of him, but I am excited for that set. I do think the older Spiderman is better looking, but mostly because of the red torso with blue over it instead of the reverse we have now. But both look awesome. That DC universe game looks sweet. Seeing some of those figures on screen would make anyone drool for the actual figures. I really only like Batman, but I can't wait to see those other figures when available.
  7. Unless they came out with a moderately high price tag, I don't see them making money on this idea. Yes, it would be awesome for the consumer, but most people aren't going to want multiples of these figures and that is the main purpose of a battle pack. Every consumer would buy one copy and they would have invested time/money on new molds or printing that wouldn't be used in any other sets. I'm pretty sure TLG would lose money on that deal, especially having to pay high licensed fees. I think long term, we will probably get a good chunk of the figures with some repeats, but I wouldn't expect too many of them immediately.
  8. I'm not a moderator, but I think it just has to be in the same fashion as the other official sets. Every building will have a slight variation in depth, just like in real life. So I'm sure a small overhang might work, depending on how well it fits in with the rest of the sets. The official sets have those little awnings, and then the mini version has that small overhang of the awning with 1x1 plates. Sticking out too much further from that might stand out too much and not blend with the other modulars. Just my two cents.
  9. Clearly, TLG thinks GB will sweep the events! No room for silver or bronze medals here.. These do look really neat. Not too many new things, but the idea of them is a good selling point. I'm definitely interested in some of them, but it might not be worth the expense to ship the few figures I do want overseas. We shall see.
  10. I immediately thought, no way I can afford another exclusive figure, then I thought maybe if I wait to get LOTR or Monster Fighters I could get this figure, then I read that it was fake, like many others. I think it would be neat to have, but I don't know if I'm dying to get one either. TC-14 was supposed to be chrome, so that figure makes sense. The Hulk was a nice nod to a classic version of Hulk for those not into the hulked-out Hulk. A chrome Iron Man would be neat, but I don't think I'm dying to get it. If something similar did happen, I would definitely order sets to pick one up, but I'm pretty thankful it isn't real. I would probably just use him as a War Machine sub until they come out with one of them. I know they don't look alike, but hey it's something.
  11. Thanks for the pictorial review! I am wanting Jabba's Palace more and more, especially for those figures! The skiff looks neat too, and again some great figures. I like the looks of the Gungan sub. I think it fits the source material spot on, but I hate that price. I may wait for a sale, but I will probably give in sooner because of Amidala and I don't have the other three figures either, plus their double sided head is brilliant! (I just watched Phantom Menace not too long ago, so this new feature is exciting to see). I like the Sith Fury, but again, I don't like that price so I will definitely pass on the rest of the sets, but may consider Bricklinking a few figures. It was nice seeing everything close up. You spent a lot of money to acquire these. Enjoy them!
  12. Thanks for the review, I have only seen the box art and wasn't too impressed. After seeing this set close-up, I can finally see how beautiful it really is. I just got into Star Wars, but I think TLG hit 2012 SW out of the park for sure compared to previous versions. I definitely like this ship more than the X-wing, but due to figures and pieces and cost, I never picked this one up, only the X-wing on May 4th. If I ever come across this on a good sale, I will seriously consider getting it. I would much rather have this ship displayed than the X-wing for some reason. But as stated, I don't know much about SW, so I don't know when they actually use this ship.
  13. I already planned on getting this set, but seeing it again in review form makes me want it even more! If you hadn't mentioned anything about bad printing, I would not have noticed. I had to scroll back up to see what you were talking about and I don't notice it that directly even with a second look, so I am okay with the printing in this series. I will wait to see how they look in my hand. Obviously bad printing isn't good for business, but no one seems to boycott the Lego brand, so Lego will continue to have bad printing. Or you get people like me, who don't notice the printing problems, so we keep buying anyway. The figures look great! I will probably mix the two Rohan soldiers together and not have any ONE person be unique. I am not into accuracy to that degree.
  14. I don't see anything either. It probably has to do with your firewall or content being blocked by your ISP. I am currently at work (should I be on EB? ) and we have limited access to most sites. I will have to look for it when I get home tonight.
  15. I know I just posted, but the two stores I went to were pretty picked clean of most figures. The first store luckily had about half of what I wanted, and then the second this morning (both Targets) had a few more that I wanted. The area was pretty bare at the second store, too, but I did feel 4-5 Space Marines, surprisingly. I guess those aren't too hot around here. I only bought the one I wanted, but it felt like every other figure was a Marine, yet the bunny head guy is M.I.A. I don't want some of the figures, but I couldn't find them even when feeling. I think this series overall is selling really well, especially it being newly released, so it is very possible that the one store was emptied early on whereas the other 19 didn't have as much foot traffic? As stated, 2 of the 3 Targets here were pretty bare, but we didn't check the 3rd Target yet.
  16. Thanks for doing that. I may have to be in touch when the time comes closer. I'm sure most of the world will be appreciative of your (and others) efforts to allow everyone to get these.
  17. I agree completely about series 5. Every store after Christmas had tons of series 5 left and it wasn't until almost March before we got series 6. Maybe it was a regional release thing, or maybe it was store back-stock and they wanted to wait before putting out series 6. I only recently found series 7 and it was picked clean, so I think the series itself is still selling well and in appropriate released quantities. I think series 5 was them trying to cash in on the holidays and it didn't happen the way it could/should have. It would help tremendously if they were put with the other lego items or check out lines as meyerc13 stated. When I did finally find series 7, it was with some random action figures and they were on hooks. They didn't even have the CMF tell-tale box showcasing the series, so I probably walked by it before without realizing it. I'm sure they will continue to make these for a long time, even if it just goes on a hiatus and returns full-force. I could picture CMF being a more evergreen type of idea for the company since minifigures was the key to separating this company from a lot of the others.
  18. I never would have noticed the eyes being misaligned. I saw that Shaak-Ti figure and I never thought that was misaligned either. Maybe my eyes aren't as sensitive as others, or my brain overlooks things as faults I guess. I have noticed some smudged printing before and have had them replaced, but some of these I don't find to be errors. There is only so much Lego can do. I probably won't get these right away, but I do want them sooner than later, so we will see if they decide to change the printing.
  19. You mean purple cut-offs aren't the latest in fashion? Or maybe he is a never-nude. Thanks for the review. I was excited to get this ever since it was mentioned as a promo. The cut-offs don't bother me a great deal. I am glad they went with purple pants as a nod to the classic Hulk. The coloring looks good, no matter what type of green it is. I can't wait to get this. I'm glad I ordered the big Hulk and Cap set to get this little guy.
  20. Exactly! I wanted the sets anyway, so it is a great promo to get something exclusive and unique for free as a reward for buying the sets. I normally would buy them right when they come out from Target or Wal-Mart, but since TLG had a promo I not only got a free exclusive figure, I also got VIP points, and TLG directly gets my money to help further their production. To me, win-win. Enjoy your Quinjet! And I agree with Big Cam about wanting to get both Hulk figures and this is an affordable way to do so. If you wanted to attempt to buy the other figures and pieces, it would be way above the actual set value.
  21. That sounds like an interesting idea, but I don't typically take a set from one theme and basically re-use it exactly the same for another theme. I am getting into MOCing more, so I do look at what pieces would be useful and in what quantity, if the set is worth it for the price or if I should just Bricklink it. I like collecting minifigures, so that helps make the sale of set easier. I don't use that many different figures in different settings though. Maybe I should start. Kind of like that Gotham by Gaslight video game that never got made. It places Batman in a Jack the Ripper setting, which is a neat idea. Too bad it got swept under the rug. But I do love that time period and I love Super Heroes, that would be some neat MOCs for sure. So it isn't exactly crossing themes, but it is the same basic idea.
  22. sologuy369 I would recommend getting all three . If you absolutely had to choose one, I would go with Cannibal Escape. The cannibals are actually really neat, and the Will Turner hairpiece is brilliant. And that particular Jack is exclusive to that set, so 3 exclusive figures. But Isle does have some great figures too, especially Elizabeth. That was my first POTC set and it set a nice tone, I think. I don't particularly care for the Fountain, but I did purchase it for Barbossa's torso and to complete the theme. I still recommend the Cannibal Escape though. Ceroknight I know what I originally said, but go for the Funhouse Escape. It has Joker, plus exclusive Riddler and Harley, plus the gray Batman and red Robin. I know you want the black Batman (I did too), but you could get all of these other great figures and a neat little set, and then try to get the Jetski polybag maybe for a cheap black Batman. I didn't realize that was coming out, so I purchased the Two-Face Chase for black Batman and Two-Face and Batmobile. Funhouse Escape, think about it.
  23. Last night I finally found CMF series 7, so I bought around 6 of them. The store was picked clean so I only had a few options of what to get. We are going to look for more today. Early this morning I ordered from S@H for the Hulk promo and LOTR poster: Some PAB pieces for projects Hulk Helicarrier Breakout Captain America Cycle Gandalf Arrives Shelob Attacks We have spent too much money on Lego lately since the May 4th promo and now this one, plus minifigures.... And the summer wave isn't really even out yet!
  24. I agree about the no free shipping. I would order from S@H more often if they had a free shipping requirement over $75 or something, like most other stores. Otherwise they end up not getting a lot of our money due to that sole purpose. If it wasn't for the Star Wars promo (which did have free shipping) and this promo, I wouldn't have ordered from them. I ended up ordering enough for two promos, but I didn't want to pay shipping twice so I kept it all in one order, so only one promo. I see Big Cam and I think alike. Whenever I need a small amount, I go to PAB to grab the few cents I need. In this order I ended up going with around $8.00 of random bricks for other projects, but normally I wouldn't buy that many. But PAB is a useful tool for small price gaps, such as this one. I received my email about the order almost 3 hours after I placed it, so the server could be down or it could just be delayed. I typically never get an immediate email from Lego though, even when there isn't a promo.
  25. I finally came across this series here and it was pretty slim pickings. Meaning they probably were out for a while and I had no idea! I did end up finding 6 of the figs I wanted, so that helped, but still so many left to get! I originally considered army building the Evil Knight, but I'm not sure about it now. I did end up grabbing a couple, but only opened one to look at it. The fact it was a bare case with multiple Evil Knights shows that it isn't too popular in these parts I guess. It seems to be that way pretty regularly with the castle type.
