  1. Impressive! The second GE at that price is an awesome deal. The love the exterior side shot. It will look really neat when it is all said and done. I like the side entrance, but I don't like how close the escalators are to the door once you walk in. The curves windows above the second entrance look good, but I'm not sure why they are necessary. Yes, it is a second entrance, but it probably doesn't have to look as grand as the revolving door entrance. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see the rest. This makes me want to buy two more, one for each side!
  2. It is still available at my local Wal-Mart (southeastern Nebraska). That is where I picked it up. It was one of my first SW sets a few months ago. We were just there again the other night and they still had some. Since it was a WM exclusive, I'm sure they would try milking it a bit.
  3. Wow! I am excited for this set. I've been waiting for pictures and they are finally here. The minifig line-up looks great. I can't wait to get them. New non-Clone Wars faces for Mace, Saesee, Agen Kolar, Palpatine! The new Anakin is beautiful from the JSF and I don't have a Kit Fisto, so that is very welcomed as well. This is exactly what I was expecting and it does not disappoint. The price could certainly be better, but I'm sure bricklinking the figures I don't have (5 of the 6) would make the price about the same as buying the set, so I will definitely pick this up. Plus, you get a neat little scene and some extra bricks.
  4. I just found LOTR at my local Wal-Mart (southeastern Nebraska, USA). They were on an endcap by the Barbie dolls, so nowhere near the Lego aisle. Keep your eyes peeled, they may be there but hidden for some reason. Very puzzling. Maybe people who buy Bratz dolls will buy LOTR Lego??? They had the all of the sets other than 9474 Battle for Helm's Deep. My wife put all of them in the cart and walked off...silly woman General Magma That helmet looks awesome! The shield looks like a spitting image of the horse head. I wish I had that steady of a hand to do something like that.
  5. KyleJohnson11 I hadn't even considered those torsos, but those work well! I heard someone say the Kingdoms Dragon Knights torsos (without the dragon crest). I converted some to the licensed skin tone and they actually look really good. The only concern is they have black pants and the Rohan soldiers have dark brown pants, so I would have to buy a lot of them to make up for it. But definitely a good option.
  6. Tria Those are some great purchases! That is a really great price on those torsos and the complete Kingdoms line for that price! I bought everything when it came out so no great deals for me.
  7. Brilliant! I like the overall design. I just watched the movie recently and tried a mini-version of that bike for that same scene. I need to get pictures taken for the CB. Keep up the great work!
  8. I had no idea Kiera played the decoy. I just watched Ep 1 recently and never would have guessed. I don't have a Leia figure, but I was using Tamina as a stand-in. I didn't realize they were the same face either.. wow As far as this theme goes, I can't wait to see these summer sets. The Skiff of course is the number one purchase. But I am drawn to the Sith Fury. I won't buy it because of the price-tag, but I rather like the ship. I don't have any previous Jabba or Han or any figures really, so I will be getting the Palace for sure. The Amidala figure is beautiful, so even though it is rather high price, I will be getting that set too since I don't have any of those figures.
  9. I liked the yellow case that holds 16 figures. I wish I would have bought more! They are nowhere to be found near me these days. The classic space is a neat concept, but I agree on having a classic smiley would be better. And I do like those classic helmets. The good ol' days.
  10. K-Mart online clearance is always good, but they oddly never any available for pick-up at local stores and they are always out of stock for shipping. Otherwise, I would pick some of those sets up for sure. Every time I go into a K-Mart I am always so depressed. It is such a sad feeling store. No wonder it almost went bankrupt multiple times. Ralph Nice pick ups! Those are some great deals for sure.
  11. lotryay The designers probably knew people wanted a mask for Wolverine, but didn't feel compelled to design one you would actually use, thus why they printed a mask on the back of the torso to let people know how important the mask is. I know very little about Deadpool, but for whatever reason I couldn't picture him with a black holster. I actually prefer the brown leather. And someone posted a photo when it came out of him showing brown in the comic at one time or another, so that works. Can't please everyone. I don't even notice that Spider-man has big eyes. He is a spider/man afterall. I'm more concerned of the blue torso instead of the red one. As far as I can tell, TLG has hit it out of the ballpark with these figures, as they are the only selling point for me. The sets haven't been that fantastic, but I can always count on the figures looking great.
  12. North Lego Star I would actually buy quite a few of them and I'm not even a hardcore SW fan! I just watched AOTC the other night to get ideas for the community build and I can't wait to see more sets from that movie. Hopefully get some new versions of a few of the Jedi for sure!
  13. I received Gandalf Arrives recently and the new horse doesn't blow me away like it does some others. Yes, it may be more realistic in the shape, but it doesn't seem to me to be any different than the older horses. While the idea of a horse rearing up is nice, I actually prefer the non-posing horses. The huge crease on the hind legs is not that appealing to me. But good thing I have tons of the old horses to continue to use since they are now discontinued. The new one is welcome, but I didn't see the purpose of the change really. And it doesn't do much for me right now. We'll see how I feel when I handle a lot more of them.
  14. Very neat building. It looks very similar to the original, which is always a nice plus. I agree about removing a layer of white. It would allow the upper windows to be in better scale with the rest of the color scheme, I think. I like the concept of the variety inside. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? The hide-out is very neat, adding in some play value. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see more.
  15. Solscud007 Nice image of the bride and groom. Takes me back to my memorable day! Thanks for that. adventuresinlego I am amazed at the women that stay with a man that beats them, and vice versa. Not quite sure why you would want to be in a relationship that would cause so much emotional/physical harm to yourself or others.
  16. mrklaw I think splurge a little and modify that list. Get the Heartlake Vet for your daughter's birthday (she'll be soo happy!) And then also get the MF for yourself . Sounds brilliant to me! Especially since the bulk of the purchase wouldn't cost you anything. If money is short though, I'm a sucker for making my daughter happy (my wife and I bought her the majority of the Friends theme when it first came out). I don't have any particular interest in the Quinjet, but it looks like a decent ship. I just wasn't that impressed with the minifig line-up. The MF has a great minifigure line-up and is an iconic ship. I also don't own that ship, but I have only recently started liking SW Lego. The Heartlake Vet isn't too impressive of a build, but it does have some neat features. A little x-ray machine and scale and a hedgehog I believe. Since it won't be for you, it doesn't matter how simple the build is.
  17. Thanks for the review. I originally wanted this set when I first saw the theme, but it lost its appeal rather quickly for me. The minifigures are a great selling point for sure, but I couldn't use most of the other pieces in the set. And since Batman and Robin are both in other sets and I can live without the Bruce Wayne suit, I would be spending $70 for Bane and Poison Ivy. I will just bricklink them sometime and be just as happy. I'm glad you found the set to be worthwhile though. It was nice seeing the set from different angles.
  18. I had the same dream when I was a kid.. That is very odd haha. But a dream for sure. Now I'm stuck buying all of them and building them at my house.
  19. Very well thought out. I like the execution. It sends a great message.
  20. Thanks for the review. This being the cheapest of the theme, I will surely buy this. That swamp creature is beautiful. I wasn't too pleased on Frank Rock, but I like that he has a two sided head. That makes me like him a bit more. The piece list isn't that great, but for so cheap with two figures, go for it!
  21. Thanks for the review. It looks like a decent set. I was planning on getting this anyway, mostly for the figures and parts. I still prefer the CMF werewolf though. There is just something about that put on head that seems too bulky to me, but otherwise I do like it. It's more cartoony/playful I guess.
  22. Nice work indeed. Very impressive. A great use of the pieces to show what Lego is all about.
  23. I think S@H even said exclusive Frodo poster with purchase. I think only a Frodo poster is given out (the same one they displayed when they first revealed the theme). The last money TRU took from me was last summer on a 3 for 2 deal. I haven't purchased anything there since due to the high mark-up. I am still blown away that they are still in business and so many people still buy Lego from them with knowledge of the mark-up. But to each their own. If it wasn't for shipping, I would only buy from S@H. As far as the theme, it is simply brilliant. I wasn't that excited originally, more surprised than anything. But now that I have rewatched the movies and built a few sets, I am more in love with this theme than expected. I can't wait to see future waves!
  24. My only advice: Get out while you still can! I got sucked in late 2010 after 16 years of being away and the spending has never stopped. I felt that same rush at first too. It was exciting and satisfying..at first. Then you realize you need more and more to feed your addiction to get the same feeling. Then you start to compile pieces and sets that go untouched for weeks. Best advice someone should have given me and I am now giving you. Get out before it takes you into the darkness..
  25. To add to the list, Kleenex is a brand name that is used for all facial tissues. Do people really want to say adhesive bandages instead of Band-Aid? That is just good free advertising for a company if they are so well known to the point that everything other than them is called the same thing. Yes, it does get to the point when an inferior product comes along such as MB gets associated with the Lego brand, but if people don't like a product they should look to the name of what they do not like. I have purchased generic things before and been quite pleased with them over the brand name. I'm sure the same could be said for any other product in existence. Lego isn't available everywhere, so I'm sure plenty of people get along just fine with some other brand. It being superior or inferior doesn't matter to them since that is what they have. As far as the discussion, I call them legos. Always have ever since I was 5. I was the only kid I knew growing up that played with them so it never mattered to me what they were called. I find it rather amusing that so many people get upset about the proper pluralization of a toy. I realize proper grammar is necessary in the world, but Lego vs lego vs LEGO vs Lego bricks/blocks vs legos is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Just enjoy the product and move on. I almost wish I would have put TheLegosDr as my name when I first signed on just to upset people. I much prefer the one I have right now since it is shorter to type though. If the actual company wants to get upset at me for using it that way, then I can spend my money on other less frivolous things.
