  1. The droid carrier GWP looks good. While brown is not the most accurate colour (tan/dark tan would be closer to its on-screen depiction), it is a nice homage to the original set. Also, the pilot droids seem to have printed bodies! Do we know the threshold yet?
  2. I suspect that since LEGO now knows how marketable animals are (hence the new ones in CMFs and City sets each year), they will be less likely to let animal moulds go out of production. A farm subtheme in City (even a small ~3 set one) every 4-5 years would be enough to keep basic farm animals around (cow/calf, horse/foal, sheep/lamb, pig/piglet, goat, chicken).
  3. Selina Kyle's torso (light nougat arms, obviously) with the Avengers Tower tactical legs (used by Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Falcon) would be a good combination for Mara Jade. My issue with using Black Widow's torso is that her belt is too iconic to the character, so it is rather distracting for Mara. BTW, the medium nougat/reddish brown dual-moulded legs from the Orient Express are available on PAB now, for anyone who wants to update their New Republic officers!
  4. Those alien and terrain packs are really cute. The alien builds are a bit blocky and the sets should have at least one Minifig each (either a current City Space astronaut or a fully retro CS one), but I like them overall as parts packs! Trans-purple canopies (and visors), and maybe lavender details in place of sand blue, would have been amazing! Not Classic Space per se, but the alien packs feel very much like what a Space Creator set would/should look like. I thought so; none of the relevant parts (printed torso, helmet, airtanks) are currently in production in yellow, so we would need to have at least four changes in the GWP in order to include orange and yellow CS spacemen. White makes more sense, though I would have preferred to get red, since that is still exclusive to the Galaxy Explorer (I think that the parts are out of production, though). 🫤
  5. Good to finally see some hi-res pics of the Minifigs! Most of my opinions are unchanged, though I am more disappointed with the Blacktron II mutant simply in light of the mythical black spaceship not being Blacktron (and potentially giving us an unmutated version of the Blacktron II astronaut). - Modern Astronaut: Great EVA suit piece, but a boring choice overall. - Totally Real Human: Clever concept and decent execution, though the (seemingly) single-piece hair and mechanical torso detailing make this figure not really useful in multiples. - Alien Tourist: Another clever concept, and very cute overall. - Retro Space Girl: Excellent, though I would have liked a new jetpack piece (or even just a brickbuilt one) and a reuse of the Retro Spaceman’s ray gun. - M;Tron: Very good, but the detailed red mechanical printing on the legs makes the arms look rather bare; I would have liked to see some red there to balance things out. Also, not only the lack of a trans-neon green visor but the lack of a visor entirely (no trans-bright green recolour, for instance) is very irritating! On the positive side, the hydraulic clamp looks great, and it is a good substitute for the OG M;Tron’s magnets (though I do wonder if the faction needs to be renamed now - Perhaps “C;Tron”?). - Robo-Nurse: Pink CS Spacebaby carries, but she looks good overall and the torso and legs are useful for sci-fi armour. - UFO Costume Guy: Boring, and a poor execution of the concept (something like the various plane and train costumes with an actual alien Minifig would have looked better and been more useful). - Ice Planet 2024: Gorgeous! Trans-orange looks a little dull, but at least we got some transparent orange, and the spacesuit penguin is cute. My only gripe is that we really should have gotten trans-orange skis as well. - Robo-Chef: Eh. I like some of the ideas here (especially the retro robot legs), but overall it just feels bland. I can see the ‘fig improving greatly with some simple modifications, though. - Buggoid Elite: Very good - I especially like that the head is dual-moulded and extended in the back! - Orion: Interesting concept and very good execution, but I still feel like he is the odd one out in this series and would have fit better in a normal one. Also, we had better get Force Ghosts now!! - Blacktron II Mutant: I am as split on this guy as he is with himself! I like the concept of a mutated astronaut. I like getting a Blacktron II remake. I do not like that these ideas were combined into a figure that is less than the sum of its parts. I like that the torso is not damaged (as it can be used for normal Blacktron II astronauts), but a damaged torso print would have been a better design choice for the mutant concept. A far better decision would have been to make a straight Blacktron II update with an EVA suit (the part from the modern astronaut), and then a mutated generic astronaut Minifig to take the modern astronaut’s place in the series (maybe using the 2024 or 2022 City astronaut designs as a base).
  6. Ah, OK; fair. I think that we agree, then. I am not completely sold on the visor colour, but the legs look great!
  7. I am actually good with R2-KT being the last anniversary ‘fig; while there are more significant and visually-interesting characters, her IRL backstory makes her a worthwhile choice. If LEGO goes this route (which I think would be excellent), I hope that we get a variety of heads for customisation - Especially Rebel trooper chinstrap heads!! Absolutely!
  8. The first three episodes of S2 are out in German - No spoilers: - The “Ras at Shadow Dojo” clip is the first scene of the season. - The “Social Media Ninja” short is actually part of the first episode. - Nearly all trailer footage is from the first three episodes. - Cinder is formidable even without Shatterspin! - There is seemingly no explanation for where the Wolf Mask warriors came from - The shot of the army (seen in the trailers) is in the first episode. - Cole is absent thus far, so he must have only dropped by the Monastery for a few days before leaving again. - The Elemental Mech shorts are canon, though, as the titular mechs appear in the main series. Lloyd’s has oddly still not shown up, though. - P.I.X.A.L. is definitely returning at some point soon, as we get another name-drop and reference to her being missing. - We get a brief appearance from Percival, so Imperium has not been written out of future seasons/plotlines (considering the quick resolution in S1, I had worried that it was just going to be a minor ‘filler’ villain faction for the first season). - The villains have a good amount of screen time, and the tone of the season is darker than S1 (one scene actually made me wince!). Spoilery speculation: Maybe Rontu? It would be weird if we ended up not getting her. That feels low for the price, especially since most of the Ninja will likely be reuses from other sets. 🫤
  9. To clarify, this means that you do not consider Life on Mars, Mars Mission, Space Police III (Earth can be seen on the box art), Alien Conquest, or Galaxy Squad to be true Space themes? I personally do not consider LoM to be a fully Space theme (more of an offshoot of Space Port), and Alien Conquest is in an odd position where there are spaceships but the setting is Earth (Rock Raiders is in the same category for me, since though it technically takes place in space, nothing in the sets indicates that). Mars Mission, SP3, and Galaxy Squad are Space to me, though.
  10. The tiger, gorillas, and red panda look amazing! I am curious to see how the reddish orange will look in-hand, as it has not been used for any animals yet. Red pandas are stuffed animals - They look like someone took a raccoon and swapped the colour and dialled up the cuteness!
  11. I think you may be right; Pharrell Williams is apparently a big fan of space, and he was previously working on a musical biopic about his childhood (possibly similar to his LEGO film?) called “Atlantis”. This would also explain the “Phriends” spelling. Pharrell Williams grew up in an apartment complex in Virginia Beach called “Atlantis Apartments” - That settles it!
  12. I think that @Black Falcon was talking about the actual dragon that the Tiefling is holding, not the design on the Dragonborn's shield.
  13. These are absolutely amazing!! Standout parts for me are the new mace head, the adorable baby dragon, and that gorgeous new breastplate/pauldrons armour piece! I hope to see that become a fixture of future Castle sets - We need it in a variety of colours, with both printed and unprinted versions! I also think that it would work quite well for a remake of Dragon Masters, if LEGO ever revisits them.
  14. Instagram (@fateful_lego). It kind of sounds like the Gotham skyline. I just hope that the ship is actually detailed and playable, rather than just a decoration.
  15. That would be great (and either that or a full, independent, Space theme is my hope!), but considering that there are only two sets confirmed for later in the year (the science lab and a "space explorers pack" - whatever that is), I think that it will just be a one-year deal. Maybe we will get a few sets later in 2HY (though I think that we would have heard about that by now), or the line will be popular enough for LEGO to continue it. Black spaceship update:
  16. Finally some new information on the mythical black spaceship. Bad news - It sounds terrible! 10391 [Moments Space] / $109.99 / 966 Pieces / September 20 release Description: "The set includes a black spaceship with a long trail for it to hang on to and keep it from falling off. The ship is almost all black, with a few gray parts and a gold cockpit in the front. On its wings are two symbols that represent exactly this spaceship and something that looks like a rainbow. The writing on the ship is "Atlantis Apts". The spaceship's trail (which is bigger than the ship itself) consists mostly of green, orange, blue, and pink colours, with white parts at the end. The set also includes a frame with 49 headpieces with different skin colors and many new face prints. The frame says "My Phriends" and has two black and gold space helmets. The set includes two minifigures (with torso and leg prints); male and female. They wear gray suits and the space helmets seem to be for them."
  17. Absolutely! Euphrasia, as well; she only got one episode in S1, but her story is one of coming out despite her religious family/community telling her that she “should not” be the way that she is. I look forward to seeing her development in S2 and onwards! I have no idea how, but that actually went completely over my head until now! It was undoubtably intentional; Sora unlocks her True Potential in response to her parents’ deadnaming her!
  18. Pics of the DnD set have appeared - In addition to all of the new medieval fantasy Minifig parts (with no exposed skin!) and two new printed shields (one round and one triangular), we also get recolours of the double pauldron and KK2 Shadow Knight helmet in pearl gold and flat silver respectively!
  19. They are a June release, so the official reveal should be around the first of May.
  20. The Gotham skyline is impressive but not really for me; that said, the Minifigs do look good! Batman is perfect, Harley is spot-on, and Catwoman and the Joker are good as well. I do agree that Joker needs yellow eyes (and foot printing for his shoes), however, and Catwoman should have either dual-moulded or printed arms (all black is a bit jarring and looks disconnected from the torso); I do not mind her use of the Black Panther ears, as it actually matches her BTAS design. I am also glad to see the dual-moulded light grey/black legs back in production, and I hope that they show up on PaB for use on Rebel fleet troopers!
  21. Maybe, but LEGO has been following the trend of adult + juvenile when it comes to introducing new animals (and giving us adult and cub versions of the sea turtle and polar bear to go with the respective existing moulds).
  22. I think that “cast” is a mistranslation of “mould”, and that we are getting a tiger cub; the existing mould for big cats can stand on its hind legs, so no new mould is needed for the adult in the set.
  23. The DnD set appears to use it (per the blurry leaked pic).
  24. The 2023 exploration sets had a mix of arctic and ocean exploration, and the setting of the ship was only determined by the orca and cold-weather hats (and box art). Something similar may be happening with the upcoming jungle wave, especially since the vehicles will have the same dark blue/orange colour scheme (with olive green taking the place of medium azure).
