  1. I believe that this rumour came from @Harkonen (who turned out not to be reliable), so it is probably untrue. ?
  2. Well. . . So much for that plan. Switching to lethal. <Saatak’a D’evlor> [“Tactical Overlay”] I’ll take “Trips” from C3. <Gar’A’ti Ba-Gat’a> [“Target Locked”] OoC: @Endgame Did you miss when Yelana tried to stun Jek, or are weapons unable to be used outside battles?
  3. Enson: If this doesn’t work, I’ll just stun him. The walls are soundproof, so we should be able to grab the egg and escape through the storage room’s tunnel without either Samba or anyone in the auction realising. Trips is inside, though, so we’ll need to deal with him as well - Shouldn't be too hard. <Gar’A’ti Ba-Gat’a> [“Target Locked”]
  4. I disagree completely - We need confirmation that the egg is real, before we attempt to steal it. Jek doesn’t strike me as terribly smart, so he could have been tricked by a fake - Either here, or at GLESP. Also, while I have my doubts regarding the Cydonians strength, they’re nothing if not ostentatious. They would recognise a Sabrillo egg, then confiscate it, probably to serve at the inauguration ceremony.
  5. Let's see what they do, first. I tried to rattle Jek by mentioning Trips' contact number, but I'm not sure he noticed. If he did, that may be what they're talking about. I'm monitoring them, so we should know soon enough. Also, I'm suspicious of why the Cydonians didn't confiscate the egg. Since Sabrillo eggs are a delicacy, their scanners should have registered it.
  6. If the Cydonians didn't confiscate the egg, are you sure it's as valuable as you claim? <En'kaas A'ti-Xia: D'evlor, Xi'dua - En'akan> ["Scan Them: Visual, Audio - Enhance"]
  7. No, no. That's OK. I only ever have the 567086. It brings back. . . memories. What else is good? Jek: You say your sense of taste is refined - Have you got any recommendations?
  8. Droid: I'll have a Krysto Iced Whiskey - Vintage 567086, if you've got it. Thanks. So, "Trips" how do you manage to drink through that helmet, anyway?
  9. Enson: The auction's like a dead drop - Minimal interaction between parties, with the added benefit of a mediator to handle the transaction, no surveillance, and low chances of being a setup. As it is, the data pad is the only evidence of interaction between Jek and his buyer, which is why the contact was so insistent that Jek destroy it. I'm getting ahead of myself, though. I didn't say Jek seemed nervous - I said his contact did, which is indicative of someone unused to illegal activity. Anyone who organises an auction like this wouldn't be nervous about acquiring items for sale. Besides, the only organiser we've seen isn't a linguistic match with Jek's contact. Also, the contact mentioned that "business came up", which is something that someone with a day job, not the organiser of an underground auction, would say. A few ways - The buyer could agree to outbid everyone else, or some kind of deal could be made with the organiser to keep the item in question reserved. Hmmmm. . . <Gat'a A'ti-Xia> ["Tag them"] Assured? By whom? It's just an egg. I'm more interested in that Cydonian artefact - Any idea what, exactly, it is? Indeed they do. . .
  10. You can, if you work out an agreement with the right person. Possible agreements aside, however, his contact seemed more like a buyer than an organiser. In their transmissions, Jek's contact seems nervous, like they're covering their tracks, and seems to know that the egg will sell. <Xi'adat Secc'a. . . Zh'ekor> <An'yiv>
  11. No - He already has a buyer. I'll need to interact with the people here, though, to check for a linguistic match.
  12. Agreed. I'll sweep the room - See who's here, what they're playing, that kind of thing. If I still had my frelling uplink with IRIS. . . Wait - How scuffed's that E-11? I might have an idea.
  13. OK. Nice! ? Will Ninjago’s cyberpunk appearance be more like Rebooted/Ninjago City or Prime Empire (or some combination of both)? How compatible will Ninjago and Monkey Kid be? Good question - If LEGO is planning to announce the theme at an event in China, this could be why we have not seen the sets yet.
  14. Good! ? How will Monkey Kid differentiate itself from Ninjago, going forward, though? The Chinese New Year sets could be from Ninjago, if they had different Minifigs, and a fantasy-based theme would have even more overlap.
  15. That's exactly why we're here, actually. Jek's how we found this place - No one here that we asked about it could give us the location. Easy, Igaz - We are here for the auction, so there shouldn't be any problems. Let's not cause any. I. . . I didn't realise War Bots were sentient. All droids I've encountered are either non-sentient and programmed for a single task, or sentient and capable of a wide array of functions. Some are even indistinguishable from other Humanoid species. Your creator must have a cruel sense of humour - Programming you with a singular function, but also with sentience and the capacity to recognise your own enslavement. I'm sorry. Do your neural processors have learning capabilities, or are they limited? If you'll accept my advice, you need to try to understand your creator - It's the only way you'll be able to defeat him. On that note, you seemed to have a problem, earlier, when I was asking questions about the Cydonians. I've found, in my line of work, that understanding is critical to mission success - So, on that note, would you tell me more about this "Dark Family"?
  16. Do you think that the reduction in Ninjago’s Asian influences/motifs will continue past this wave, or is it just temporary in order not to be confused with Monkey Kid?
  17. What do the other Minifigs (including villains, if present) look like, and what skin-colour do the Human characters use (standard yellow, flesh-tone, or something else)? From having briefly Googled these characters, it seems likely that Tang Sanzang will be a normal Minifig, and that Zhu Bajie will have a mould similar to a Gamorrean.
  18. Well. . . I’m not liking the decor. Yeah, uh. . . Hi. We’re looking for a Fangreak named Jek Flakko - We think he might’ve gone this way. Have you seen him? Also, if I may ask - What species is. . . “Samba”, did you say?
  19. It is my understanding that only one piece of armour can be equipped at a time, though I am not sure if additional pieces can be purchased and stored (un-equipped) in the stats' Inventory section.
  20. I accept your apology - We're all a bit tense, it seems. Right now, I think we should focus on the mission, but we can review the recordings after, if you want. You can't borrow my visor, though - I've got it genetically-coded, but if you tell me where to look, I'll pull up the footage and project it. I am curious - What have you heard about psychic fields? I've had experience with them, but what you suggested doesn't sound like anything that I've encountered. Interesting. . . Just once? Where does that alley lead? Hmmm. . . Thanks. The first chance I get, I am reprogramming you. Absolutely not kidding, so either stow it or make sure you stay conscious. Before we go in, I'll scan that alley - I'm not walking into an ambush. <D’rosen En’kaas> ["Sensor Sweep"] OoC: Would scanning the alley be a Perception proficiency check?
  21. I think that there is a bit of confusion here. In my previous post, I wrote Yelana as responding to Enson as he spoke, so she stopped talking before he apologised. I was trying to convey this by dividing the quoted post into sections. @Lord Duvors
  22. You misunderstood - Those are three different things: You seemed to dismiss the existence of “secret plots” out-of-hand, but I would consider Jek’s theft, and planned sale, of the Sabrillo egg to constitute one. I’ve been skeptical of the Cydonians since we arrived here - We don’t know much about them, and I get the feeling that they’re overcompensating for low resources with their constant displays of strength and control. Finally, my comments about terraforming and mining were just speculation, when I was under the impression that the dreadnought fired on a regular basis. Knowing now that it hadn’t makes the explanation that it fired on a rebel cell more plausible - Vannoy did mention “outrage”, so rebel activity is a possibility. It’s not just the security systems - Their Enforcers are overworked, and they seem to go out of their way to make their presence and strength known - Even to the point of possibly fabricating rumours of cloaked soldiers, just to keep the population in line. All of this makes me think that they have less control here than they want people to realise. I know cloaks. I’ve developed anti-cloaking detection and defence grids. Cloaking fields generally work on the same basic premise - Bending light and sound around the target object. The object in question still has mass, though, so even a ship with a gravimetric cloak will leave a wake when passing through a nebula, for instance. And unless the dreadnought has an uplink with orbital or ground-based monitoring systems, it can’t fake global wind-currents. Locally, perhaps, but discrepancies in a jet stream would be noticeable anywhere. Also, a psychic field? Even if the ship had the kind of power necessary to create one on such a large scale, that still doesn’t solve the problem of atmospheric disruptions or the fractal patterning that my visor would absolutely have detected - Particularly on something the size of a dreadnought. I’m an intelligence agent; I often need to extrapolate from small amounts of data - And, I prefer not to shoot first and answer for it later. Nothing’s gone particularly wrong thus far, and certainly not because I’ve misjudged a situation. You clearly aren’t aware of who I’m working for, or what my reputation with them is, because “overthinking” is exactly how I‘ve made it this far in my career.
  23. We could. How often do these people come through here? Could be him. Did you see him leave the alley? We’ve not been here long. We’re looking for something called the “Umbra Auction”, but we don’t know where or when it is - “Umbra” means “shadow”, but specifically the kind produced by an eclipse. I thought the auction might be taking place at the time of the next eclipse, but our intel currently suggests it’s happening sooner. Ah, Thank you!
  24. Enson: We're here precisely because of a "secret plot". Besides, it's important to evaluate situations from a variety of possible angles. Really? That's odd. One of the cargo-haulers at the shiplot said it happened before, a few days ago. Merchants' Union? What do you know about them, and do they have any connection with an old workers' rights movement - The one with the four-chevron symbol? Oh, that reminds me - Have you seen a Fangreak come by here, recently? They're an insectoid species. The one we're looking for has a blue carapace and red eyes - I can pull up a holo, if you need it. We think he may have gone down that alley, but we're not sure where he went after that. Anyway, I'll take the Tinted Visor. Speaking of, when’s the next eclipse? This says they’re common, but I haven’t seen one since we arrived. Uh. . . Yeah, hi. I'll have a Plasma Potion. By the way, I picked up this Nanite Filter earlier today, but the bottle says "Nanite Philter" - "P-H-I-L-T-E-R". Is that just a typo, or is it going to give me some kind of weird side-effects? OoC: What is the difference between the Perception and Insight proficiencies? New stats:
  25. Are we sure they did, though? I’ve been reviewing the footage - The beam impacted somewhere outside the city, and I can’t tell much difference between before and after it hit. Also, I find Impalo’s excuse of a “rebel cell” flimsy at best. I’m not saying they wouldn’t do it - I just don’t think they did. Impalo’s message is the only evidence of a rebel cell’s existence, and Faeja said that the dreadnought fired again a few days before we arrived, so I’m wondering if it’s a cover for something else - Mining or terraforming, maybe. Either that, or it’s an intimidation tactic in the lead-up to the inauguration. Maybe the guy at the kiosk knows something. I’ll ask. Excuse me, Hi. Does that kind of thing happen often, here? We’re new to Gnorra, so we’ve only heard rumours.
