  1. You might want to edit this, as it is my impression that the beam did not cause a shockwave - It simply vaporised a section of the planet’s surface (similarly to a phaser).
  2. Well, I wouldn't worry too much about the Cydonians interfering with your work - I don't think they really care, or can, for that matter. I need to go, but I wanted to ask you one more question: Do you know anything about an old workers' rights movement, represented by four rust-coloured chevrons? We found the symbol on that E-11, but we're not really sure what it means. Whoa! Now that's interesting. <Xi’adat Secc’a: Playback - En'akan> ["Data Access: Playback - Enhance"] Ah, frell - Impact was too far to get a clear image. So. . . Anyone else not buying that? While I was talking to Faeja, she mentioned that the dreadnought may have fired a few days ago. Since I doubt there are multiple rebel cells that need to be dealt with in such an, uh. . . overkill manner, that blast has to be something else - Maybe to shake up the populace before the inauguration ceremony? Maybe if you wanted to slag the planet, but that beam hit outside the city. Either their targeting systems are scuffed, or they weren't actually trying to hit it.
  3. I am not exactly sure to what you are referring. ?
  4. I don't know why you don't! And why do people call them "clangers"? When did you first hear about Cydonia, anyway - When they arrived, or before that? I'd never heard of them, but our employer had some intel: Up until about fifty years ago, Cydonia was fairly unremarkable. Since then, however, they've managed to gain control of twelve additional systems, and it's unclear how they're able to maintain their control. At least, that's what he told us. He said that they "speak softly and carry a large plasma baton", but I think he's wrong. From what I've seen and heard here, I'd say they speak loudly about the size of their "plasma baton", so people don't realise it's more of a "plasma pencil". Look around: New regime, but no real security upgrades. A cloaked dreadnought - Parked in atmo, where it can be located easily. Unsubstantiated rumours of cloaked soldiers, but no way to really deploy them if they existed, given the weather. Constant patrols, but a 48-hour wait on responses to claims made at the Enforcers' Bureau. Conspicuous surveillance, the Cydonian sigil on walls, only one guard at the dock where we landed - All of this points to the Cydonians having low resources and a tenuous grasp on their territory, secured only by fear and rumours. My guess is that the Cydonians' expansion coincided with their development of cloaking technology, and that they use their cloaks to hide their forces' low numbers, relying on the fear of higher numbers to get and retain control - In fact, I'd say the four dreadnoughts that showed up here are over a quarter of their fleet.
  5. I actually have a theory about the Cydonians, but I'm wondering - Can you tell me anything else about the structure of the ships? I know - Big, grey, lots of guns - But you can often tell a culture's values and strategies by their ship's designs.
  6. No! No! Keep that frelling thing in your. . . Arm. . . ? Whatever - I have the pad with me, anyway. If you want to help, check for the tracker on that ship, and see if you can access its data. Not yet - I'm still talking with Faeja, and I really don't think we should go that way.
  7. Exactly. Yelana was angry, but I was just role-playing (though I should have made that more clear!). Also, you are correct - I am new to this, so I do not yet have a full grasp of RP-etiquette!
  8. Hmmm. . . Scan for genetic material - That might give us something to track. Oh - And speaking of: Find that tracker Vannoy mentioned, and cross-check the data with the ship's flight log. Look for discrepancies, and make sure to download everything. By the way, remember when I said that something's off about this mission? Yeah, that. Vannoy said that Jek was a "fine worker", but "fine workers" don't join workers' rights movements. "Fine workers" do their jobs, keep their heads down, don't make noise, are grateful for whatever they're paid - That kind of thing. I don't think Vannoy would consider someone who's part of a movement a "fine worker". Anyway, I'm going back to talk to Faeja. Send me a copy of that data, and let me know when we're going back to Haurbo City. Hey - I just wanted to finish our conversation, if you're not too busy. Sorry about all. . . that, by the way. Uh. Yeah, I. . . Can I sit here? Anyway, I think we left off talking about the Cydonian's ships - You said they decloaked five above the planet, and that the Gnorrans just handed control of the system over. What else can you tell me about the Cydonian takeover? Also, just so we're clear, the dreadnought that's here was one of the four smaller ships, right?
  9. Maybe. . . You're probably right, but I've learned its best not to ignore patterns and symbols. It's definitely not stolen - At least, not stolen any time recently. I checked the flight logs - The ship came directly from GLESP, so it must've been docked there for a while. Otherwise, Vannoy would have reported that Jek also stole a ship. My guess is that this was Jek's personal ship, and that he's somehow involved with the workers' rights movement. This is very interesting - I definitely need to talk to Faeja again.
  10. Interesting. . . We need to assume that Jek made the meeting with his contact, but I think I have an idea of what to do with this. I want to finish talking to Faeja, first, though, before we make our way back to Haurbo City. Also, I’ll hold onto the data pad - Tester-Three would probably just shoot it! Kleeck: What can you tell us about this workers’ rights movement? What do the chevrons represent, if anything? And this - <Xi’adat Secc’a - Playback> <An’yiv> Jek’s contact repeatedly uses the phrase “Sorry, sorry, so sorry” in their messages - Does this correspond to common speech-patterns from any known cultures or species? It could just be nervousness, but the repetition makes me think it’s something more. The knocking pattern, too - Could the four initial knocks be related to the workers’ rights movement’s four-chevron insignia?
  11. No meeting? Really? Sigh. In that case, I’ll search the cockpit and check the ship’s computer. We are going to need to talk through our strategy eventually, though.
  12. Fine! Fine. Sorry. We're just a mess, though! No plan, no coordination, no strategy - Everyone's acting like they're the only one on this mission! Myself included. . . I suppose. I'm sorry - I'm just so used to working alone. Before we go any further, we need to take a second and have a strategy-meeting. Whether we appoint a leader or make decisions as a group, we need to decide now how we're going to proceed. The way we've been running things, we're absolutely going to fail this mission.
  13. Hopefully, we can still salvage something from this ship. I'll check. <Engineering En’kaas - Damage Report>
  14. OK - I cannot believe that actually worked! I'll search the cockpit - Access the ship's flight logs, communications data, anything else I can pull from the computer. And remember: We're not sabotaging anything - This ship's worth more to us intact, in case. . . Gah! What the frell?! That could've blown the entire ship! As it is, we may have lost evidence! That's it - Since it seems he can't even follow basic orders, I'm going to try reprogramming Tester-Three. We don't need him jeopardising our mission any more than he already has.
  15. One more word outta y’all’s mouths, an’ I’m callin’ them cops - I ain’t kiddn’! ‘Ur that bug? The hell’s your problem, bug? Say’n something about you ain’t got y’all’s ID? Look at me - Write the correct two lines of Jek’s ID on a card, spaced-out, then hand it to me. I’ll put my fingers over the spaces and show it to the droid, which, combined with my little show, should be enough to spoof it. I can cover the droid’s view while you write, but you need to hurry. - You, you - I! You’s had that damn thing on you the whole damn time! Callin’ down and inturruptin’ my break for nothin’! I swear! Look, droid, look - This is Jek Flakko, he’s got his damn ID, so now you open that-there gate. I’m done with y’all! Don’t you call again, ya hear me? I ain’t helpin’ y’all another second!
  16. I said - Y'all take this shit outta here. Now I ain't sure who this "Yeh-Leena" is, but if it can tell me where in the hell this bug is, I can do my damn job. You sorta look like one - You that Jekko guy callin' down an' makin' a real big fuss? OoC: "Yelana" is correctly pronounced "Yeah-Lana".
  17. 'Kay, I ain't got no clue what you's talkin' 'bout - I'm just here cause some bug's makin' a scene, so I'd take a few steps back if I was you. Look - I don't know what y'all's problem is, and I ain't about give a single shit 'bout it, so you'd better take it somewheres else - I'll call the law on your a'sses, and believe you me, you ain't gonna like that! And I say - ACH, uh - That's the plan, Kleeck - Uch - And whoever the hell's smoking'd better knock it the hell off. I gave that shit up years ago, and I ain't gonna go back to it either! Now, if any o' y'all can quit this ruckus - Tell me where this damn bug is, and I'll be on with it.
  18. OoC: I plan for Yelana to try to trick the droid, using both Deception and Technology proficiencies, but I need @Goliath to comment before I can do so.
  19. Uh, Faeja? Would you mind holding on a second? I have more questions, but I need to go keep my companions from frelling up this entire mission. I'll be right back. Igaz: Don't acknowledge - Just listen. I have an idea, but I need you and Tester-Three to play along. 'Ey mate, you ain't happen to see a, uh, "Jeek Flayko" 'round here, have ya? Got a call down in maintenance 'bout some bug raisin' all kinda hell, 'cause one of these-here droids ain't workin like they's supposed to.
  20. Oh, I have a bad feeling about this. . .
  21. Kind of the point of a cloaking device, but I digress. What does the Epigraph look like? Do you have a holo of it? What did the rest of the Cydonian fleet look like, and how large was it? That’s what I thought. Wouldn’t you? What do you know about the “Umbra Auction”? I’ve heard that it’s something of a Gnorran tradition.
  22. I like this! I can see other potential abilities, as well (e.g. Something that combines Acrobatics and weapons, thus allowing movement and attack in the same round).
  23. I wouldn’t pass one up, but more to the point, if the dreadnought isn’t in the lower atmosphere, how do people know it’s there? Unlike the cloaked soldiers, this thing seems real. Nicely done. Uh, phrasing. Anyway, I’d suggest going for the intel - We have nine tries left, and you already got the code almost right. I. . . You know what, I’m not even going there. Not even. Yeah, I. . . Yeah. Good question - I have some theories, but I’d like confirmation.
  24. Igaz: That's exactly what I'm doing. This isn't my first run-in with cloaking tech, but I want to know precisely what the Cydonians are using. Ideally, we don't come into conflict with them, but if we do, we need to know what we're facing. Also, understanding Cydonian tech and tactics gives us insight into their culture and overall strategies.
  25. I meant that LEGO may have used the Death Watch Mandos as inspiration, then given the Minifig a more cobbled-together appearance to match the others. Alternatively, they may have been working from concept art.
