The build I’m working on at the moment needs two motors and a battery box in it. I have the control+ set from 42099 but the hub is very bulky and is already taking up too much real estate in the fuselage. I’m totally clueless when it comes to Lego power stuff, before 42099 all I had was those 4 stud long grey motors from the 80’s. is there a smaller battery box/controller option than control +? The motors from 42099 are a reasonable size so those are fine, I suspect I’ll need different connections though?

Depends on your definition of supercar. Dip back into the nineties and further and they will be bang on. a nice project with two defenders might be one of those six wheel range rovers, or a bowler? or go left field and build a big trak. or one that has been on my list for a while and, had I not been obsessed with my current projects I would have built for the last tc competition is a Judge Dredd Land Rover. [MOC] scynox's workshop

The borderlands vehicles are brilliant! -
I’ve started building one of these in fairly big scale. The plan is to have all functions run from a combination of two motors, one acting as a constant speed power unit and the other one spinning the turbines. functions will be: ailerons. elevator. rudders. The functions below are powered by a control+hub and two motors from 42099 through a three way, 2 direction distribution box which is currently just in front of the wing. turbines spinning. retractable undercarriage extending leading and trailing edges. BRRRRRP!!. It’s 99 studs long, with a span of 111 studs. The fuselage is generally 9 wide. Ill be putting work in progress pics on Flickr if anyone is interested. I imagine I’ll also be grovelling for help on here a fair bit too I imagine. Thanks for looking. Andy

The shape and stance on the escort are phenomenal. You have captured the squat purposeful angle of the mk2 that is very individual perfectly!

Ford RS200 MOC FINISHED?
MinusAndy replied to MinusAndy's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks for the kind words. I have no plans to do instructions but if you wanted to build it then there are plenty of pics of the bodywork and chassis so you should be fine. -
Ford RS200 MOC FINISHED?

Bump. Pics in First post. -
I assume it’s so he can put a double set of rear wheels on it. (Or some Ben hur style spikes for tc17)
-
Surely there are enough pictures available for you to build your own based on what you can see and questions you can ask. This moc is exactly why this forum is great, a few months ago the Rolls was just an ok model, now, following the fresh eyes and comments and help it is now magnificent!

Subaru Impreza WRX
MinusAndy replied to kazak-fr's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I quite like the slightly cluttered look as I find the actual cars a bit cluttered too. also I think it’s nice to see someone’s thought processes in a model and I get that with this one. regarding the strength; given that it’s a toy and not an actual rally car it should be ok ;) -

I really like the back light surrounds on this. I’m not normally into wireframe models but this is really really good. The lines are fantastic -
Disassembling a Set
MinusAndy replied to JLiu15's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Mine came apart without any problems. I do have some “brick pliers” that I bought on eBay a while back that are great for getting tricky pins out. They have rubber jaws and are shaped to grip axles and pins.
