Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
@Vilhelm22 I saw something like a train station on Lego Ideas. Only it was a bus terminal with a coffee shop. Here it is. Big fan of buses. I drive a bus as a matter of fact. I'm getting this one if it becomes an official set. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Overall, despite the various subthemes for City, I think I can officially split Lego City in two halves; action outside of the city and action within. However, in recent years, some sets under subthemes that supposedly take place within the city are portrayed as being out of the city such as the 2019 fire plane and the 2014 helicopter chase set. It seems like City is rather hesitant to give shine time to action within the city. Its obvious that action outside of the city sells better as I'm assuming that young boys don't just love action. They love WILD action. While I do wish for the days when City only focused on action within the city to return, I doubt that would happen as by now, action outside of the city seems to be too popular and provides more ready made action than action within the city. By why put those sets under City? Now that's a tough question! The thing is......putting those types of sets by themselves would be to their detriment and there is really no other place to put them. Put them under City and people buy them. So that's kinda the short version to a long a pointless explanation that would take me away from the point. City nowadays is more about jobs than city life. By giving more leeway to action outside of the city, the City theme itself is evolving rather than going against its heritage. Though this year, it seems City almost fully promoted action within the city except for the divers sets and the safari off roader. -

[MOC] LEGO Amfleet I Coach
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to RickyWasAYoungBoy's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Ah yes! The classic Amfleet. One of Amtrak's longest running local passenger service coaches. Funny, I've ridden on the Amtrak lots of times in my life and only rode on Amfleets. I've never ridden on the Supreliner or the Acela. That's sad. -
Unfortunately yes! It's kinda pointless for it to be one though. That's why @Vilhelm22 said that it would be better to sell them under more dedicated subthemes like police or fire. On another note, I'm surprised that City hasn't went the police train route yet. A fire train would be cool. MOCs are nice and all, but some people like myself, would like to see how Lego tries their hands at it.

Here are some ideas for a potential cargo wave revival, Lego! Perhaps instead of people in blue overalls, you can introduce a new green torso with the "CARGO" logo on the front and back. Truck & Forklift - updated version of the truck and forklift from 2013. Moutain Heliplane Delivery - follow up to the cargo heliplane from 2013. Ship Dock - either the harbor from 2007 or the harbor from 2011, except its painted in the green and white colors of Cargo vehicles. Freight Train - includes green locomotive with two green and white box cars

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

60259, 60269 and 60271 still have yet to be revealed. I'm assuming those will be this year's town sets. Still a chance for a people pack and town planning set along with a standalone building. -
Great Job! I love the removable roof and how you made it drive through instead of one sided.

Not really a fan of World City. Too much focus on emergency sets. Though that would be hypocritical of me to say because then again, you can say the same about City. I recently recieved the 2013 cargo truck and the 2013 Octan truck. Let's not beat around the bush here. The 2013 cargo truck was WAY better than the 2017 one. It was more realistic. I don't speak for anyone else, but I have never seen a truck that transports Lego sets in an opened container. Reference to the 60169 Cargo Terminal. However, some newer City builds aren't actually that bad. I got the bank from 60245 and I plan on buying the new passenger jet set. Though, I am thinking about scratching that and just trying to find the 2016 airport instead. -

City is my favorite theme. However, I'm not too proud of their recent waves. Especially the idea of named characters (though i do have a soft spot for Chase McCain). I love the vehicles that City does much better anyway. I mostly collect older ones from the 2010s when the standards of City sets were much higher than they are now. -
I say yea! If Lego were to go along with that plan, they'd have to make a public transportation subtheme just to put that passenger train somewhere. Of course the cargo train would go under cargo and I would assume that they would make a police train and fire train for police and fire. For airport, I'd recommend sort of a people mover type of train. It can connect two airports together as if it were two different terminals for two different airlines. I think this is a great idea. In fact, I actually had this idea. Abolishing the trains subtheme and separating them into more popular subthemes such as police, fire, airport, cargo, etc would be a much better marketing strategy. Unfortunately, trains apparently don't sell and I kinda blame the fact that they have a dedicated subtheme for trains. Put them under more popular subthemes though and people will buy them. I guarantee that. Btw, I have some ideas for a public transportation subtheme. I'd recommend that the vehicles in this subtheme would be Mountain Police Blue as blue is a great color for transit vehicles. Local Passenger Service - This scene would basically just be an articulated bus and a single bus based on today's 40 foot buses. It would of course include bus bays and civilians along with drivers. The Short Line - This set is basically a shuttle service playset with a mini bus based on today's 30/35 ft buses and a shuttle bus. Could include bus bays and of course civilians Express Service - Its basically a motor coach bus. Commuter Train - A commuter train set based off of the Bombardier M7A multiple unit. Can either be pushed along or powered by Power Functions. Includes oval track layout with station. Streetcar - A push along streetcar with some track

@Bornin1980something Yeah! Too much repetition with these darn police sets. Nothing really changes other than the uniforms, their station (the environment in which they work) and vehicle features. 2012 Forest Police - uniforms and different vehicle coloring 2013 Elite Police - uniforms, different vehicle coloring, new heads and Chase McCain 2015 Swamp Police - uniforms (really just recolored forest police uniforms), new heads and different vehicle coloring 2016 Prison Island - uniforms, vehicle coloring and new heads 2018 Mountain Police - uniforms (recoloring of swamp police), different vehicle coloring, new heads and net shooters 2019 Sky Police - uniforms (same as 2017 classic police along with new bullet proof vests) and new crook heads. 2020 Elite Police - well.....uniforms are the same as the ones from 2013 and the vehicle coloring kinda looks like swamp police So yeah! Nothing really all that different. At least by 2018, I was tired of seeing police sets. People on here be like "If you don't like it, don't buy!" But here's the thing....WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO BUY??? It seems like recently, City almost only does vehicles that you don't want. If that's the case, I'll have to pass on some waves. It'll just be a year where I buy absolutely nothing. I only do City because of the vehicles. -
