Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Didn't we just get off of a police wave over the summer? Just saying. Sounds like for the winter, City will focus only on action outside the city. @Yvonne Matsunaga Btw, can you make the font smaller. -

The tuning shop was awesome. But it was a little too.....hood like for my liking. Like it was based in a ghetto or something. My town is supposed to be working class. You're right! 60232 was too babyish. Then again, it was a 4+ set. -

Please let there be a road rescue revival. The tuning shop was good and all, but not as good as this garage. Though considering today's standards of Lego buildings, it can't use baseplates. -

@Klaus-Dieter Action outside of the city obviously sells better than action within. As for people packs, I'm guessing they didn't sell well enough. That's prolly why we haven't seen any this year, -
That would be a great set dresser for a city.

I was thinking a rapid transit train or something based off of the Bombardier M7A. If they did do a public transportation wave, let's use blue as the color for the vehicles. -

We actually already have a forum for ideas for new City sets. I also hope next year's transport subtheme is public transportation. This year was air transport. -

Otherwise I'm basically expecting the same thing that I should expect every three years where they focus primarily on action outside of the city. That is: A police wave that is based outside of the city in a jumpy environment such as the forest, the swamp or the mountains. I say that because the year following classic police year is usually one of those (i.e. 2012, 2015, 2018). I hope it's a fun police wave like one based in the dessert. An industrial subtheme like miners, demolition, farm or construction. I hope it's the latter. But those who live on hope are usually the ones to get flamed here. So I shan't hope. A wave of great vehicles. Most likely ones similar to what we've seen before. Nothing really interesting. This year in 2020 there were some interesting great vehicles. But doubt we'll see anything interesting next year. Most likely more offroaders, some type of aircraft or a hauler of some sort. An explorers wave for the summer. I'm guessing its gonna be Volcano again considering that this year is Divers year and following the last Divers wave was Volcano. Some town D2C sets that would probably be the only things keeping me with the City theme. Coast Guard, which is something else that is keeping me with City. It would be about that time again too. -

Shouldn't this be under town tho? Also, nothing was really said about 2021 City yet. Though, as I said on City 2020, I think there is some time for a public transportation wave. -
Since this would technically be the start of something, I thought I'd make this page. Mods, feel free to remove this if not accurate. Otherwise, speculate away

Coast Guard is one of those guaranteed subthemes for City. Its definitely coming back in 2021. There will be an outdoor themed police wave for sure. You basically read my mind there. I hope the industrial subtheme is either Harbor or Construction. We haven't seen a real working Harbor since 2011. I hope a full public transportation wave is possible for City next year. Perhaps during the summer. -

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. But I thought I'd wait until some news comes out regarding 2021 City sets. But then again, the City 2019 page didn't wait for news. So I guess. -

@Gobias1234 That's great to hear. My wife gets involved in the action too. But Friends is her thing while City is mine. I usually store the buildings and vehicles in bins. When we're ready to take them out, the builds are already put together. Our town is called Franklin Street. That's my last name. It's actually a small section in Lego City - therefore characters like the mayor, Duke DeTain or Freya McCloud cameo. Matter of fact, that's where all the first responders are. I also like to do fanfiction. I hated the named characters at first, but I actually am starting to kinda like them. My wife and I have been making plans to get some tables to set it up on. Unfortunately because of COVID-19, those plans have been halted. That pandemic has really caused a lot of trouble. But by God's grace, we'll get through it. -

So you're a parent too. I'm also a dad and this is a set that my children would love too. I'm actually working on getting a table for our town as my town is currently on an old desk of mine. If only Lego made more sets like this for City too. Most of the buildings in our town are MOCs. Ever since 2018, it kinda became clear to me that injust wasn't going to see certain buildings for City and by late 2020, I began MOCing buildings. My current MOCs are a bus terminal, post office and a small medical clinic. My children are pros already and they're only 9 and 6 (my sons fraternal are twins). Both my sons and my daughter recently perfected a look for a grocery store front and a fire station. As for vehicles, I usually get older ones as they are more realistic and detailed. Though I do have some newer ones as well. My kids have enough police cars and fire trucks - most of which were passed down from me. So we're kinda taking a break from those. I currently have the 2009 tow truck, 2014 race car and 2016 rally car coming in the mail. Tell me more about your town. What's your town like? Whats the name? -
