  1. I wonder why Cho Chang's Lego figure was so dark.
  2. That's brutal buddy. But like its been said over 1,000 times already - Cast your dreams of a police free year for Citt away. Its not happening.
  3. What you and @MAB said is why I used yellow people as much as possible. There is no racism because there are no races. Problem solved. I do have ethnic stereotypes though. I hope that's not bad.
  4. Yeah.....and police has been an annual thing (much to most AFOLs annoyance) for the past decade. So it probably wouldn't be convenient now. Now if they decided that there wouldn't be a police wave for 2021, which I'm assuming there will be as some special forces-like police sets have been leaked on Instagram, that would be a different story. But to abruptly take them off the shelves in the middle of the year would do some damage. SERIOUS damage!
  5. Lego actually confirmed via Twitter that the discontinuation of police sets is 100% false. They're sImply pausing advertising for them in the US.
  6. @Vindicare The yellow tones ato the reason why I prefer generic over licensed. No races.
  7. I think the generic characters need to stay yellow. The characters being yellow is the best thing for Lego's in house themes. If anything, I don't think its being color blind. I think Lego is stopping racial tension. Take City for instance. Giving races to the characters would fume lots of racial tension. For example, if they made the cops white and the crooks black, that would piss a lot of black people off - myself included. Yes! Race reveal! I'm a black man. So Lego is taking into account the societal impact these types of things have on people. So I don't think Lego is being colorblind. I think Lego is being empathetic towards its fans and customers and their feelings on such a matter of going from yellow to flesh tones for their generic themes. Licensed themes is one thing. Generic themes is quite another.
  8. Oh wow! That's actually pretty clever!
  9. @kermit Dang! This page hasn't been commented on since you commented. Just thought I'd make that observation. As far as the Ocean Exploration Ship goes, I'm not even looking at that one as I'm not really interested in it. I'm getting one of the submarines instead.
  10. Go on Instagram and you'll see leaks. I'm not buying though.
  11. I do have to agree. I'm taking a break from building for a while. But it does seem like since the 2010s, Lego does waaaayyyyyy more police now than they have ever done during the 20th century and the 2000s. This has been a thing with them since 2012. Imho, City isn't like it used to be during the "HEY" generation when police was just like any other City subtheme. My interests from City right now is the car industry. They did a great job with that this year.
  12. Update: Look at this tweet guys. We were all freaking out over nothing. That's a relief because I was kinda hoping to see the elite police that was leaked on Instagram.
  13. Tbh, I'd like to think that those people are the civilians just minding their own business and not giving a flying brick about the crap that's going on in the world today. The street sweeper is going to clean up the streets so that the construction bulldozer can rebuild. Then people business can continue as usual. The mail plane delivers its rounds. The ice cream truck is back in service....and we can now race boats again. I'd like to look at it that way. Car enthusiasts can also go back to normal in 60255 to 60258. As far as looting and destroying the city is concerned, I think Vito and the Bulldog gang have that under control.
  14. @neonic Well...put yourself in a Lego parents shoes. The acts of police brutality (not just race related either), protesting, arsonists and COVID-19 are very serious topics. Would you want your child even PRENTENDING with that kind of stuff? If anything, I think Lego is taking that into account with City sets as most of the time (not all the time), it's really parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. buying these sets for children.
  15. Uh.....I'm pretty sure the article said "indefinitely".
  16. Even though no medical sets are on that list, I wouldn't be surprised if the scandal with the medical field and COVID-19 would be reason for Lego seeing fit to apply this rule to the hospital and ski resort too.
  17. Still a bad move! The US is one of their biggest markets and City is their most popular theme and emergency sets sell. That's gonna have a crippling effect on the company.
  18. They're not going to stop making them. They're just taking a break and halting promotions until this thing with George Floyd has blown over. Fire sets are also involved with that as well. In my opinion, it's a bad move.
  19. I read it fully. Its actually emergency based sets period. That's why I'm not too happy on that. The doctors and firefighters did nothing wrong this time. Just the cops. My guess is that they're assuming that children don't want to be reminded of the violence that's going on in our world today. So....like you said.....until it simmers down, they're taking a break. It'll simmer down soon. I also don't think police should be annihilated - my thing was overdoing it. But if they annihilate it, that would be bad for the City theme.
  20. The entire HEY Generation of City had commercials. Along with the Fire and Sky Police.
  21. Hmmm.....I guess the question now is.....how are children going to know that the sets are out there without advertising?
