There was a car dealership in 2015 with the 60097 Town Square and in 2020 with the 60258 Tuning Workshop. The one from 2015 looked better though.

What about car dealerships? Car dealerships are technically stores too. Lego did two of those for City.

Perhaps it's exclusive to Europe.

Yeah I've been trying to find the Lego City ones, but to no avail. I don't think they sell those in my state.

Ok! So taking into the fact that modulars is supposed to take place in the 50s or 60s, I'm thinking of just a plain 50s style office building, of course with great detail on the outside. On the inside, instead of computers, they can have type writers and switchboards. It can also have a meeting room with the head manager in a bowler hat. Adjacent areas can be a buffet and a gym.

@Aanchir Sorry I took too long to respond. I've been busy recently. But yes, I have to agree with you 100%. For 2022 especially, that year went above and beyond the call of duty for City sets. It was definately a proper send off to the City Adventures series and I can tell that Lego wanted to sendoff with a bang. I got the police station, fire station, hospital, school, beach, train station, bank and grocery store from that year. Wish I got the abandoned fish factory with the downtown fire brigade set. However, we have so many options for town builders now that for 2023's winter wave, playability became a thing again. Though I was hoping the custom car garage would be something like the hot rod club set from the 90s. But its still good i guess.

Would it be unpopular to say that I an setting insanely low standards and/or expectations for the 2024 wave of City sets? 2022 was a bang and a half. But winter 2023 disappointed me. Summer 2023 is okay.

My ideas for a Paradisa revival. Paradisa is primarily centered around the leisure side of Lego City and is primarily targeted towards girls. I know it won't happen because of Friends, but here's a little dream wave: Gym - Personally, I see women now getting into fitness more now than ever. Why not have one of those? Compatible with road plates. Uses cart and skateboarding wheels for weights. Cinema - Friends had a cinema. Don't see why that can't be a thing with City! Could include snack bar, ticket window and one screening room. Compatible with road plates. Beauty Salon - For obvious reasons. Compatible with road plates Swimming Pool

Sorry it took so long for me to reply to your comment. I've been busy! But I can definately agree with you there. As a town builder, there were sets from Ideas I actually liked and wish I had the funds to acquire and the space to set them up. For example, Discos still exist in towns even if rare. The Home Along house would've been a PERFECT build as an estate for the mayor in my town. I would've had a field day building an office MOC with the minifigs and the accessories from the The Office set. For an apartment MOC, I could've used the Seinfeild, Friends and the Big Bang Theory sets. The treehouse could've been a park area type of thing. The motorized lighthouse for the seaside instead of the lame ones they give us with City and Creator. I dunno what I'd do with the A-Frame Cabin, but....I'll find something to do with it. Then there is the Medieval Blacksmith set that could be an actual business in my town, but the medieval guys in there are just roleplaying. Then I can flavor my town up a bit with some attractions for my minifigures such as the Pirate Ship In A Bottle, the Sesame Street Place, the globe, etc. The possibilities are endless. But because my budget for Lego is very tight, I can only afford to buy sets from City and fix them up to fit my town. Its fun, but I do wish I could've gotten some of the ideas sets. So I agree with you there. From town builders to action figure fans to collectors/displayers, there are lots of different sets for people who have different tastes.

Great Job on this MOC! I really love the detail. This could actually pass for a real Speed Champions set.

The only people in my family who are under 18 are my two nieces and my nephew. But they live so far away (OH and PA respectively).

I think I might actually get some of those though. I especially like the one with the propellers.

Yeah! I just found that out. It makes sense though given that the activities are mostly for kids. I finally puffed up the courage to ask my crush if she'd like to meet up at the new one here in Virginia and she told me that we had to have someone under 18 accompanying us.

Funny enough, I figured that out when I saw the corner garage set. I was like "So if we were to put all generic themes on a timeline, Modulars would take place before City/Speed Champions/Creator 3in1!". Just because of the styling of the buildings and vehicles. The police station, especially looks like something from a 60s version of New York City.

I have a few sets that I like from Ideas (i.e. the treehouse, Home Alone house and Sesame Street set - they're good for town builders like myself!). My issue is that they were usually too expensive to acquire. I budget when it comes to buying Lego. It's okay if you don't like certain themes. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to Lego. You can still be a fan of Lego and have a favorite theme. That's why they ask you what your favorite theme is when you join this community. You don't have to love all themes to be a fan of Lego, ya know. I'm one of those guys who doesn't love all themes. 😀

Waiting until August to release certain summer sets in the North America while other regions get them in June is unfair.
