Lego set 6059 Knight's Stronghold was released in 1990. As a child I was dreaming about it. It was a bit more realistic dream because it was much cheaper then big castles. I always knew parents won't buy me big castle. It was outrageous expansive in post-communist Poland with crazy exchange rates usd/zloty. But there was small hope for smaller and cheaper 6059... Well, in the end, I never get big castle nor 6059. I was so crazy to get those big doors, black castle panels and of course those awesome knights. Recently I received LEGO part 18913c01 which is the giant modern boat hull. This "brick" is obviously dedicated to build floating ships with it. But I was looking, and looking at it and decided that I need to find some other use for it! You probably already noticed that I love M:Tron theme. This classic LEGO series released in 1990 and finished in 1993 was designed with very characteristic colors - red and black with addition of awesome trans neon-green. I think every child loved it. I have written many times here how much I love the classic series from the 90's called M:Tron. They stole my heart when I was a child. Togeter with Blacktron II series of course. I still haven't got my heart back to this day ;) From some time I was thinking about some crazy crossover. What if instead of space explorers they become knights? And they even get own castle? Last week I've build this MTron MOC. This buggy can be used to transport magnet containers to ships or MTron bases. The containers are filled with ores. [MOC] [Neo-Mtron] - Armored Walker -3 crew members. -1 pilot/engine driver. -1 gunner. -1 mechanic. - Double Railgun at the front. - Laser cannon on the tail (brickbuild). - Radar (brickbuild). I used a lot of wheeled vehicle parts to give that rounded look. - The old mythical part N°3787-Vehicle Mudguar 2x4 with Arch Smooth, which we find in our good old classic-space or City. - Part N°41854-Vehicle Mudguar 2x4 with Flared Wings, which I used in the seat backs and the radar.. - Part N°44674-Vehicle Mudguar 2x4 with Headlights Overhang, which I used in the tail. - Part N°41862-Plate Modified 2x2 with grills, which I used in the tail and the radar. Part that we find more for the radiators of City cars. - Part N°98834-Vehicle, Spoiler 2x4 with Handle, which I used in the legs. - Part N°44675-Slope curved 2x2 No Stud 3 Side Ports Recessed, found in the fronts of City cars. [NCS] Neo-Mtron - Armored Walker by Horlack, on Flickr [NCS] Neo-Mtron - Armored Walker by Horlack, on Flickr The canopies do not exist in these colors. But it is a choice by constraint. None of the canopies, but really none, of those Trans-Yellow or Trans-Neon-Green or Trans-Neon-Yellow colors do well. That is to say, they are too angular with respect to the body which is rounded or has curves. The possible canopies in these 3 colors literally break the physiognomy of the vehicle, to the point that it is "ugly" or disturbing. It literally breaks that general aspect. It's rare that I take pieces in a color that doesn't exist. Example during my design / brainstorming tests in alpha version : => the angular front canopy, is too opposed to the general roundness effect of the vehicle

My Home Sweet Home entry, M:tron Northern Command. Half a continent away from the planet's main M:tron base of operations, an M:tron commander has set up a research and exploratory outpost. He was able to requisition a couple Ionizer class hueys, a ground roadster and two expository scout vehicles...and of course his own speeder bike. Rule number one for me when I build: it must be playable. LEGO is all about play and creativity, so every build of mine must be too. So I tried to put as much play into this build as possible while still keeping the competition in mind. I focused on the outside while not skimping on the inside. It is a modular build with the top level coming off very easily. Additional and full size pictures can be found on my Flickr page.
