Looks great! I love the sleekness of the design, I'm impressed you could get that amount of accuracy and detail at that scale. Now all we need is a durge minifigure.

This is why I think there might be merit to a blue MTT actually showing up. That bad batch helmet leak was pearl dark grey, wasn't it? That color doesn't yet exist for that part, and Sargent Hunter is the only figure where a pearl dark gray p2 clone helmet makes sense. So if that image is real, it's very likely at least some bad batch members will show up. The blue MTT is one of only a few options that make sense. Although the MTT evidence is all circumstantial, so to speak. Without any actual leaks or evidence that would point directly to the MTT itself, we'll have to wait and see. I agree, I like this wave's sets and the mix between prequel/original/sequel/television sets. The only major problem I see if the price . -

Old ben's hair! Aside from a few other hairpieces, I don't think any other 2005 molds are the same, besides the Rodian, Male Twi'leck, and rebel pilot helmet @LurkingEhlek mentioned. -

Yeah, I think we had the same point and were just misunderstanding each other's posts. It's interesting that LEGO refuses their suggestions sometimes...a cargo shuttle would have been a great set, but I guess it'd be hard to get at the same price is krennic's shuttle. They are somewhat unlikely, but the bad batch don't have many options for sets. There's those vehicles and the shuttle, of course, and you could throw one or two of them into a LAAT or AT-TE but then you run into the pricing problem you mentioned. I feel bad for you guys, that set is IMO one of the best in the past few years. Blue MTT was from a fake list from this guy who made multiple alt accounts to defend himself, from what I remember. Fun fact related to the second bit I quoted: BB-8 has a girlfriend in the Poe Dameron comics. -
I like the engine update, the size is better and the detail still seems great!

This would suggest a CW S7 set in january if true. I'd guess the shuttle or a separatist vehicle like the octuptarra droid or @Snazzy Bricks's suggestion of an MTT. First of all, I'm not saying at all that disney is exerting "dictatorial control" over the brand. Heck, I don't think disney high-ups concern themselves with the lego brand. I agree with most of the things you're saying, I think it's just terminology I'm using that's causing the misunderstanding. I'm not saying that disney is going around saying "NO LEGO, INSTEAD OF CLONE WARS YOU MUST MAKE TROS SETS" as some have implied they do, I'm saying Lucasfilm probably says things like "Hey lego, can you make a set for The Mandalorian" or "We'd like it if you made the ghost as it's the main ship in our new show". -

I didn't mean it in the way I think it was taken here. I meant more so that lucasfilm has them do sets based on some vehicles, or provides concept art for said vehicles at certain times. I'm not saying that lucasfilm or disney is bullying lego around, but are you really saying that they don't have them make sets based off specific vehicles and just give them completely free rein over the license? -

Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I remember the reports of rebels sets not selling well. Even there, I think that was more so that lego themselves messed up. I'm sure some of this was ordered by lucasfilm and out of their control, but they released the ghost and 1st phantom a fair amount of time before the show, meaning that no one knew what these ships were. (They do the movie waves a few months before the film releases too, of course, but those have much more marketing and usually have some recognizable vehicles and characters anyway.) By the time the show gathered it's adult audience, the set was already retired. The demand is there now, as illustrated by the bricklink and ebay prices of the ghost, but not until it was too late. They also made that January wave consisting mostly of super obscure vehicles from the season. (I can maybe get the over sized Ezra's speeder that was in a scene or two, but the wookie gunship had a single shot of screen time in the entire season, just of it docked next to the ghost.) Their season two sets were strange too, captain Rex's AT-TE did have a fair amount of screen time but was essentially just a worse version of a recognizable vehicle, and the other sets were once again obscure. The gozanti, which I think was a great set and still have my copy, was obscure enough not to hold a $130 price tag, and the Rebel Combat frigate that lasts a single episode seemed to only sell for ahsoka based on bricklink pricing. This meant that we got one season three set, (which I believe would have sold well enough based on demand for thrawn, a low price, and that the show had gotten a fair amount of people hooked by then, but that's just speculation.), and nothing for season four, when those two seasons had some of the most interesting vehicles and best figure designs. (I mean, c'mon, a defender, anything with the mandalorians, etc would have sold great.) Then with Resistance they made the supremely strange choice of releasing the villain ship at an exorbitant price even for lego, and instead of bringing the hero ship alongside it, made a background ship. So it makes sense they'd be cautious about their mandalorian and clone wars s7 sets, but personally I think they brought the poor sales upon themselves with strange set choice, timing, and pricing. Clearly they've figured out how much popularity the mandalorian has and are probably getting ready to pump out as many sets as possible, it'll be interesting to see if they do the same thing with the clone wars. -

Yeah, another y-wing so soon is unlikely. No, I think they've only ever been for movie releases. (Solo, since it released in may instead of december, had a "wookie weekend" I think) -
Good idea for a January wave list. The ones I kept in the quote are the ones I'm using some variant of. Microfighters: Razor Crest ($9.99): Mandalorian (not beskar) (literally the same as Kit Figsto's ) Gideon's TIE ($9.99): Moff Gideon (no cape, blaster) Grievous's wheel bike vs Boga ($19.99): Grievous (with magnaguard staff), Obi-wan (lightsaber, blaster) Reasoning: Mandalorian hype and merchandise should lead to a razor crest microfighter, as well as the trend of ships in late summer getting microfighters the next january. Gideon's TIE as an enemy ship. Wheel bike v boga fills the "obscure/unique vehicle versus brick-built animal" trope of the past few years, and reuses grievous figure. (Ideally they'd fix obi-wan's torso by january, though) No battle packs, supposedly :( Juniors: Speeder Chase ($29.99): 2 blockier speeder bikes, a tree with a catapult feature and leaf cover feature to hide an ewok. Comes with Wicket, Endor Luke, and a Scout Trooper. Reasoning: a speeder chase is long overdue, all the juniors sets have been OT, and a "race" type set would sell well with small children. Duel: Duel on mandalore ($19.99): Like Kit Figsto described, with the throne and exploding windows, but instead of a doorway it's the window Maul is pushed through. Figures are, of course, S7 Ahsoka and Maul. Reasoning: It's inevitable. Other sets: Rebel Command Center ($29.99): Comes with Mon Mothma, General Lando and Admiral Ackbar. Build of the Briefing room and the bridge separated by a sliding door and hinged. Reasoning: it's one of the OT location sets priced around $30 with minimal or no conflict lego is so fond of. Lando and Ackbar should draw enough sales as recognizable characters and the Afols get our first Mon Mothma since 2009. Separatist Forces ($29.99): Built as a Separatist equivalent to the 501st set, it comes with a Crab droid, dwarf spider droid, droidika, 3x b1s, b1 commander, 2 b2s, and 2 212th Clones. Reasoning: with no traditional battle packs, it's been speculated that the 501st set is the first of the "new" battle pack style for lego. This would be an opposing pack with mostly separatist forces. Imperial Trooper transport ($39.99): Sort of like the 501st set in terms of being similar to a large battle pack. The build would be similarly sized to that of the one in my MOC thread, and come with a speeder bike in the same style as the 2020 AT-AT, but in the Navarro color scheme. Comes with two stormtroopers, 2 death troopers, Cara Dune and IG-11 with this part attached to his "neck" holding baby yoda. Reasoning: This would work well as a smaller mandalorian set and in the newer style of battle pack, which allows it to have a large-ish number of troops. IG-11 and baby yoda aren't full minifigures, with along with being a battle pack allows for the 7 figures in a $40 set. Battle of Yerbana ($49.99): Corporate Alliance Tank droid, command center and 212th BARC. Comes with Anakin, a 501st jet trooper, 212th trooper, tactical droid and 2 b1s. Reasoning: this would capitalize on the clone wars hype, and provide vehicles for each side for a relatively small price. Exogol ($59.99): Large duel build like snoke's throne room. Comes with the sith throne, and offset on each side a small sciency area with the jar of snokes and palpatine's puppet arm thing, and on the other side a representation of where ben fights the knights. Comes with Rey, Ben, Palpatine (zombie), palpatine (reborn), and two KoR. Reasoning: Exogol is one of the most iconic TROS scenes, and a release a year after the film would allow for spoilers. Building it at a larger scale similar to Snoke's throne room allows for enough figures and the builds needed to complete the scene. Gideon's TIE fighter ($79.99): Gideon's Outland TIE, like a normal TIE but with folding wings. Has a small 100-ish piece side build of some of the cantina, as well as an E-Web. Comes with Moff Gideon (cape and darksaber), a stormtrooper, the mandalorian (beskar), and Greef Carga. Reasoning: Again comes out long enough after the final episode to allow for it to be spoilery, and would provide an enemy vehicle to the Razor Crest. Resistace B-wing ($89.99): Resistance B-wing build with stand and small representation of the command center. Comes with Aftab Ackbar, Poe Dameron (outfit from the y-wing set), General Leia, a resistance trooper, BB-8, and a Sith trooper. Reasoning: It's been a long time since the last B-wing and would complete the resistance's "-wings". We also need a new general leia figure.

It's the final film in the saga, so not really. I kind of liked how it (The film's 8 months old so I don't think I need a spoiler tag, but just to be safe:) To try and stop myself from getting too far off topic, I'll bring this back to what people are saying about the sequels "going away" in terms of sets. I'd assume that there will be fewer sets, since the sequel films have finished so there won't be the wave(s) for each film, but it's still a third of the skywalker saga, so there'll probably still be roughly the same amount of sets as the other trilogies. Again, I don't want to get too far off topic, but I just wanted to emphasis this. Whatever your opinion is on the sequels, I think we can all agree Lucas's vision would have been far, far worse. I don't think we'll get a force friday. No new film, and as much as people like the mandalorian I don't think it will have film levels of merchandise. Some reliable sources on the forum (I think it was @jdubbs who first said this) have said there are no $15 sets on the winter 2021 wave list from what they've seen, or something to that effect. -

The Jangbricks review increased my opinion of the set as well, I agree the major problem is the price. (which even then isn't atrocious, like you said.) It's even better price-wise if you pre-order two and plan to sell one of the ahsokas... -

I though the most recent AAT was accurately sized though. (or at least the most accurate, the proportions of minifigures make true accuracy impossible). The 2009 one was too large for what it was. And really, you'd want to pay $80 for an AAT? I think the problem is just that Grievous's starfighter should be $50-60, not $80. The AAT doesn't have any real size issues, it's just the proportions of the cannon and some other minor things that are easy fixes. -
Very well done! The greebling and detail on this thing is incredible! I also like that instead of the normal stand, you gave it a whole base with kashyyyk terrain.

I agree, just by the weird proportions of the lego figures themselves, scale is really tough to get. However, I still think the AT-RT and BARC are way too big for what's in the films and clone wars. I think it's still september 1, as that's when all the august sets were pushed back to in america and in other countries they weren't delayed at all, but I'm not sure. -
both the prision ship and droid are amazing designs. I'm going to have to bricklink the parts for that security droid.

I find it hilarious that they're letting lego do a holiday special and very clearly invoking the 1978 special that everyone wants to forget. As for Rose, it's unlikely that that's a hint for a set or anything, the games and specials usually have tons of new figure designs that never show up, like Boss Nass, the ghost figures, and many others from the games. Even the characters we later end up getting, like Ackbar and 4-LOM, had different designs. The green sweater character is just Poe in a green sweater. I assume it's there partially as a joke, and since it's a lego cartoon it's of course also there to sell the toys. I imagine we'll see most of the 2HY 2020 sets in the special. This is a nice scale-down of the army organization that still feels like there's a real presence to any of the groups. I'm 100% using this to organize my troops once I get ahold of some 501st sets. -
"find him...find him...fives...FIND HIM FIVES!" Fives would make such a good figure, I'm not one for "we need a battlepack for every legion", but it's been 8 years since the last arc trooper, Fives with some GAR vehicle or something as a set in that $20-30 range would be amazing. It's a pretty obscure set so I'm not sure they'd go for it, but I guess they did the Azure angel. It would certainly be an interesting design. I could see it at $40ish given it would't need to many pieces. I did one for the prequels and OT, so here's a sequel fleet wave: Microfighters: Starfortess Bomber ($9.99): Paige Tico First Order Trooper Transport ($9.99): Captain Phasma Poe's X-wing vs TIE fighter ($19.99): Poe's Black one and a first order TIE, comes with Poe Dameron (pilot), BB-8, and a first order TIE pilot. Battle packs: Resistance Fleet ($14.99): Abenado Ground tech, Finch Dallow, Jess Pava, Resistance Trooper. Build is a Resistance DF.12 turret First order Fleet ($14.99): First order TIE pilot, special forces TIE pilot, First order officer, First order ground tech. Build is a first order banner and speeder bike. Other sets: Duel on the supremacy ($24.99): Build for the supremacy duel between finn and phasma with debris and that elevating platform thing. Comes with Finn (officer disguise), Phasma (Battle damage), First order stormtrooper. Resistance A-wing ($29.99): Tallie's A-wing (ideally this would have a smoother build for the wings than the 2019 model) with Tallie, a Resistance trooper, and a First order Heavy Trooper. TIE whisper ($59.99): Kylo's TIE whisper, similar to vonreg's TIE, with Kylo Ren (unmasked, TROS outfit), Palpatine (zombie-like), Soviergn protector, Rey (hooded) Black One ($79.99): Poe's X-wing in the 2015 color scheme with the 2020 engine model and other upgrades. Comes with Poe (pilot), Finn (episode 7), Phasma, First order stormtrooper, BB-8. Sith Star Destroyer ($149.99): Sith star destroyer, like the one from TROS with the red accent. Interior has rooms for big palpatine hologram, conference room, armory, and bridge. Comes with Hux, Pryde, 2x first order officer, 2x first order stormtrooper, Chewbacca (no bandolier), Poe Dameron (TROS), Trudgel. The Raddus ($179.99): MC-85 with separate interior rooms. This build would likely require a stand. Interior rooms include Bridge, hanger, medbay, and a Conference/briefing room. Comes with Finn (bacta), Poe (dress uniform), General Leia, Nien Numb, 2x resistance trooper, 2x resistance officer, admiral Ackbar, Kylo ren (Last Jedi), First order stormtrooper.

I don't know about that, at the end of the day it's still just one set. I could see the figures going for the same amount as the rest of the p2 clones in a few years after the set retires (that is, $12-20 per figure, a bit less if you count the kashyyyk scouts, but they have much less army-building appeal and came in many more sets.). I am banking on them not selling out instantly september 1st though, I've got enough VIP points for the copies I want. -
