  1. Thank you! For the X-34 I had to redesign the whole chassis to fit them in without them being obtrusive, I'm glad it's appreciated. I agree that in lots of official sets the stud shooters seem tacked on. Thank you! One thing I really liked about TLJ was that the walkers had cable-cutters on the legs to stop the rebels from using a few ropes to take down multi-million credit walkers. Still doesn't make them usable compared to tanks, as you can just shut down a leg to crash it, but it's a nice touch. Thank you! The rebel scout speeder's always been a personal favorite of mine. The troop transport is a pretty weird design. As @TeddytheSpoon says, it was a kenner toy, I imagine the "hey let's put the troops on the outside of the vehicle, what's the worst that could happen" design was to allow kids to fit as many figures as possible on it while keeping the sound box on the inside. Still pretty funny though. My power's out and will be for a few more days, but I'll be working on a TIE bomber ASAP.
  2. This is explained pretty well. I can't imagine lego would be change their prices for normal sets based on UCS sales, as like you said, they are well aware of the major differences between the customers of normal sets and of UCS sets. So there is some real evidence of this happening, but it's not connected to the 501st lego set.
  3. It's always somewhat subjective to whether or not something is overpriced, but I don't think many people think the falcon was that overpriced. There's a difference between how expensive something is and how overpriced it is.
  4. Same. I'm skeptical of this, especially since some of the rumors claim this is because of the 501st set, which makes no sense to me. There's not enough time between the 501st set's release and the january sets for it to have any impact on it.
  5. Images for the January wave regularly leak towards the end of november (I think on thanksgiving the past two years in a row), so I'd guess that's around when we'd see them. Titles and descriptions have had lots of variance in when they leak, but I would expect some codenames or set numbers to leak pretty soon. Welcome to eurobricks, by the way! But that's the thing. The cantina is meant to appeal to adult collectors and not the general market.
  6. Welcome to eurobricks! I'm buying the same sets as you, though in different quantities, I'll be going for 3 501st packs and I'll try to get two AATs, too, and sell off the second Ahsoka. Edit: I managed to snag two copies of the AAT pre-ordered off amazon, they should arrive september first! For any Americans here, THE AAT is back in stock for pre-order on amazon! The 501st set sold out in 15 minutes (still hasn't been restocked) and the AAT within at least the first day, so make sure to order one ASAP if you want one. That is a very good point. The UCS sets have the unique aspect in these (at least until recently with the helmets and bespin duel, which is great!), to be made for adults and not children. This means that they can make the "tan shapes with aliens" as @MGS6735 said, because most adults probably would prefer the cantina and possibly other parts of mos eisley with all the unique figures to the sets meant for children.
  7. It's certainly one of the most popular sets produced yet, that's for sure. I'm a bit worried I won't be able to get one, seeing as it sold out on amazon in literally minutes.
  8. That is actually him, I believe. Lots of lego youtubers on the forum. They'll probably still include R2 and Threepio. I totally agree, we need yavin. Even without play features in the one sense (where even than it could have a midi TIE fighter, x-wing, y-wing with stud shooters and sliding doors, it has play value based on the merit of space to put figures. I think the hanger would provide a ton of play value, with fueling, arming, and launching fighters. Same with the UT-AT and some pentaki stuff, I wish they made those into real sets. I remember seeing it in the visual dictionary as a kid and thought it was pretty cool.
  9. I think at least slave leia is fine, since she's got a fair amount of screen time and kills jabba in that costume, but I understand why some people don't like it. Oola makes more sense to me to not be used, as she is A: much less crucial to the scenes for a palace set, B: has less clothing than slave leia and C: dies pretty horribly in her only scene. I still think it'd be ok for an MBS style set, but I get completely why that figure might not show up again. Yeah, these are pretty cool sets.
  10. Yes! This would be the perfect set for that, as they usually put more detailed versions of figures in the UCS sets. I 100% agree. I never got ewok village or cloud city, but they both looked great from what I've seen. And we definitely need a battle of endor and Pentaki. Maybe if the gunship sells well....
  11. UPDATE: Imperial Troop Transport Stormtrooper Corps Troop Transport ($39.99), 454 pieces "Stage a battle between the empire and rebellion with the stormtrooper corps troop transport! Fire the stud shooters on the rotating turret on the trooper transport, load the transport with the three troopers, and escort the transport with the scout trooper's speeder bike! This Star Wars set includes the Imperial Troop transport as seen in The Mandalorian. Included in the set are three Stormtroopers, a scout trooper, and two rebel troopers!" Thanks to @ARC2149Nova for the suggestion to make the ITT! I've seen a lot of good ITT mocs, but I noticed they all seem to be pretty big, so I tried to make one at a comparatively small scale. This is based off the vehicle in the mandalorian tv show, as opposed to the model seen in star wars rebels, which I was surprised to see is very different. I will say that the ITT doesn't look as good with the troopers removed from their side pods. For the interior, you can see the cockpit, some more space for troops, a weapon rack, and storage for a 4x3 container, here filled with 6 thermal detonators. The speeder bike is based roughly on the 2020 hoth speeder bike, with some changes made to the main body, foot pedals, cannon, and vanes. The figures were tough to choose, as I wanted to keep the 4/2 figure makeup of the 501st set, so the two rebel foot soldiers were easy to figure out, but it was tougher for the imperials. The ITT should be piloted by a combat driver per rebels, with an officer behind in the cab, but I also wanted to get a large amount of stormtroopers. I settled on three troopers and a scout for the speeder bike, since we don't actually see the ITT driver in the mandalorian. The rebels are based on the Sullust rebels from battlefront 2015, since Navarro has a similar climate. Edit: I think there's room for about 8-12 figure in the transport. 6 in the side pods, the pilot, and 2 more can fit comfortably in the interior. If you remove the cargo and pack them in more tightly, you could probably up it to 12. Once again, if you have any suggestions or comments, please let me know! I'm not exactly sure what else to build for this wave aside from a TIE bomber.
  12. That's a very good-looking build, It's very smooth, I especially like the front "battering ram" part. Also, those little x-wings add to the scene well, I love thier inclusion.
  13. Just don't buy from them then, if you don't like how much they're selling them for. In this case, it costs more to get three troopers than it does to buy the set containing them and more figures and builds, so people will only buy from them if they're really impatient to ge their hands on those figures or want to buy them in such a large quantity that it's not feasible to get them from stores. (I guess he might actually get business in the latter case, if you're buying them in quantities that large you're probably missing some common sense ) That's good to hear. @jpipes7261 What store do you work at that you've already got the sets out in the US?
  14. I swear I meant to say the mankvim!
  15. But then who would pilot the 12 luke's landspeeders included in the set? betrayal at cloud city was the same price and had 21 figures, so I think you're right in that it'll be around 20 for this one.
  16. Some of these makes sense, but others are super obscure, like in the background for only a few frames, such as the diamond class and C-9979. Edit: mankvim, not sure how i got that mixed up, the landing craft does have some shots in the foreground. I do agree we need a tri droid and crab droid though, as well as some of the republic ones. The UT-AT even got a prototype set! Crab droid could even be a battle pack build, depending on the size.
  17. I thought the same at first, something was off with his head, but I agree with @starwarslotrluvva. Ponda Baba himself is just weird looking. Apparently the 501st battle pack is selling out in europe, that bodes well for getting more stuff like that in the future.
  18. Ponda baba and evazan look great, I love the new aqualish head piece.
  19. Hey, same! Currently I'm thinking I'll get three packs and organize it by: 8 normal 501st troopers, 2 501st jet troopers, and then swap parts of the remaining 501st trooper, 501st jet trooper, and 2013 501st trooper to make two more clones and a squad leader to represent Appo. (Fun fact, Appo's arrow is a reference to Appa from Avatar, who is voiced by the same guy that voiced the clones). I agree about the cloth too, it gives them a nice officer look. Like you, I try to stay purist, but the cloth parts are super tough to get. What's stopping them from raising the price is what stops any company in a free market: consumers not buying them. Sure, we'll still buy them, at least most of us, but a $5 increase is a fair amount of money to most kids, and parent's probably wouldn't be too keen on it either. I agree with your second idea though, two normal packs in the winter and a larger summer one would be ideal.
  20. @Sabre-aN thanks for the detailed analysis! This confirms for me that I'll be picking up an AAT and 3 501st packs once they're available over here, same as you. I also like the idea of swapping out arms to differentiate squad leaders. I've got some ideas already on how I'll be customizing some of the troopers, especially with swapping my 2013 501st trooper into it.
  21. I agree. They're probably slowing down, but there's no way they'll get rid of the $15 battle pack.
  22. I mean, your opinion on the builds is subjective and it's never bad to get more droids, but even with all that aside, yes. 501st troopers sell for $20+ on bricklink all the time and now you can get four of them, two vehicles, and some droids for $30. Of course it's going to sell like crazy.
  23. @Makin Bacon and @Omand: Thank you! About the figure count, as makin bacon says, I was trying to invoke the 501st battle pack. I agree about the battle droids, which is why I upped the price a bit, though it is still a bit unrealistic.
  24. How did I forget about that? Alright, next set will be the I.T.T. and a speeder bike! Thank you for the kind words! Thank you! I must have spend two hours on getting the spring shooters in there, I'm glad to hear they paid off!
