  1. I can't tell if you're joking. The trash compactor, aside from being a super iconic scene, has the whole "walls close in" thing. Way more interesting than Like look, suggest whatever you want, but it's crazy to me that you're suggesting this is better than the existing dioramas or that it's something everyone loves and lego should totally make.
  2. From a quick google, it seems kind of lighting dependent. There are images of cassian and jyn together where they both seem to have a darker skin tone, and some where they have a lighter one. I mean, ultimately, I don't really care, it's a pretty minor thing. That whole figure just doesn't look like Cassian to me between the skin tone, hair, outfit, facial expression, beard, but that's probably at least in part just that we haven't seen him in that outfit yet. Reva's head is fine, though I wonder if the medium brown is the same as the old bionicle medium brown. Honestly I think she needed a new hairpiece though, it would have been a nice bit of exclusivity to a figure that seems otherwise pretty bland compared to the other ones in the set (I maintain that Reva needed a helmet or hat of some kind, literally every other inquisitor does, even if GI doesn't wear his all the time). Even Kenobi has that new poncho that I'll be immediately removing and giving to my Cal figure when I get the set. Doesn't mean I don't think the Scythe is a great set. It's definately got a great, sizable build, and I really think it's good for the price too. The figures are also great. 4 in a $100 set is a little weak in concept, but given how detailed they are (GI and 5th brother especially) it's definately a case of quality over quantity, and i think i'd prefer it to if the figures had been weaker but there were a couple stormtroopers added or something.
  3. First of all, remember, spoilers. The implication the quote gives for that scene is pretty obvious. Though I guess at this point there's another post about it and anyone visiting this thread will see it no matter if the original is put in spoilers. And do you really think this could be a solid set? The only way I could see it being anything interesting is @icm's suggestion, and even then it'd be tricky. The T-6 is totally coming. It's the ship of the main character of the show, and that's the one thing lego's been consistent on with razor crests and the Slave One and the N-1. I loved that set as a kid. It'll definately have Ahsoka and Sabine, probably Hera and Chopper, maybe Zeb (though him not being talked about at celebration worries me. Zeb should be with his family).
  4. Ah. I was wondering if they priced the Scythe more than BD-1. Yeah, these sets are getting pretty expensive. I think most of them this year are a good value (andor set excluded), but more $15-50 sets would be very nice. Hell, do some $10 sets that are little system scale playsets or speeders with a figure or two. There are images of the physical sets for the scythe, BD-1, and the andor set people took at celebration. BD-1 looks amazing, first off. I pre-ordered that set and I want it so bad. Ambush on Ferrix... ah, I'm liking it less now that I see the physical images. That shuttle really does look quite small for $70, I really think they should have included at least another one or two blue uniformed soldiers. I also don't think Cassian should be that darker skin tone, looking at images of Diego Luna I think the light nougat color is more accurate. The Scythe looks good. There was only one shot of it that I could find, focused on the figures, so you really only see the underside. It's got the landing gear from Krennic's shuttle. The underside doesn't look great, but I mean, what do you expect, it's the bottom of the ship. It did really sell me on the SIZE of the ship. This thing looks like it's really sizable for $99.99.
  5. The creator posted the design for the build (quoted above) earlier in the thread. It's not loading for me, so it might be too old or something.
  6. Looks good, it's such a creative choice to make the alphabet fighters TIEs. A little harder to see the K in this one than the J in the other, but it's not like the A-wing is an exact translation of the letter A, either, so I think it still works pretty well. I love those cannons on the underside.
  7. Yeah, the legends one looks awful. I think I'll post some mods of the base design later (a bounty hunter one, a dropship, and one in New Republic livery) in this thread, and just put a headline above them saying that they are NOT an update to my entry, just mods of the base model. Thanks! The idea to have it fire missiles as a primary weapon instead of laser cannons was actually inspired by your TIE jacalus, though I took care to have a different loading and firing mechanism so as to not plagiarize.
  8. Ah. Some of that may just come down to different pricing. Also, which of the $100 USD sets is $160 down under, and which is $120 for you guys? Seems odd there'd be that big of a difference for sets priced the same in the US and Europe.
  9. Finally, more people have posted, I can continue my wishlists! I think next up was the sequel CMF, but that's kind of boring, so I'll double up and do a Solo wave as well, seeing as given what happened at celebration today, I may not be the only fan who cares about that movie. 10. I already pre-ordered it. That game has given me an emotional attachment to BD-1 and I want to have him. I honestly might buy a Cal outfit and put him on my shoulder. I REALLY hope we get more Jedi sets, whether they're for Survivor or just tie-ins to Fallen Order. I'm not sure that it's many larger sets, but it's less mid-range and small sets. We have, what, 3 system sets this wave under $99.99? $30 delta-7, $50 duel, $70 andor. And then BD-1 and the scythe at $100, AT-TE at $140, and Cad Bane's ship at $160. That's 7 sets total. In 2021 we had 8 sets in the summer wave, but that doesn't count the probe droid statue, which was part of the spring wave. This year, the statue is coming out in the summer. In 2020, we had TEN sets in the summer. Feels like we're leaking sets, and I can't help but hope that there's a retail exclusive surprise or two. This would be the year for an Amazon one, with vader's castle in 2018 and the Razor crest in 2020.
  11. Ironically, I feel the opposite way. The speeder bike looks blocky and oversized to me, while the spaceship has excellent shaping. It looks smaller than I think it actually is, which is weird, but I given the parts used I think it's sizable, too. That said, unless it's some sort of Tardis, it's not worth $80. Hopefully I can find a build-only copy on bricklink for cheap. Don't care about the figures at all, already have a Cassian. Yeah, I like the idea of mixing up what they're based on, though it's a little weird to keep them all releasing in december if they do that. I would have liked a terrifying tales one to get the skeleton troopers or Vanee. The shuttle's really messing with me. Given how many figures it's supposed to hold and the pieces used, I logically should see it as being pretty big, but the shaping or positioning on the box or something makes it look like a $40 set. The figure count doesn't help either, jeez, you'd hope they'd at least give you a figure or two for the dropship to, you know, drop from the ship. You have no idea, man. Cal is in my top 3 favorite star wars characters, that game is one of my favorite video games (I don't play a ton but still), hell, everyone says I look just like him. I would sell my soul for a Cal Kestis minifigure.
  12. Hello, here's my alphabet fighter submission. My first time doing a stud.io moc with no reference material, since the T-wing (THIS T-wing, there is one in legends, but it's...it's bad.) isn't a real thing but my own idea. I had three ideas I wanted to incorporate into the design: -I wanted the ship to fulfill a unique purpose. Not a standard bomber or interceptor. I think I succeeded in this, which I'll get into more in the lore segment. -Design-wise, I wanted to incorporate an angled design I've used before on my A and B wing mocs, which you see here in the wings. It uses angled plates and curves to get a smooth angle. This is one of the better techniques I've come up with, so I wanted to use it in the submission. -I also wanted to have the windscreen at an angle, gunship-style. No real reason for this one, I just like that type of thing on ships. "The T-wing heavy assault craft was a starfighter designed by the Incom Corporation in 3 ABY at the request of admiral Gial Ackbar. The craft is, due to a heavy amount of computational equipment, able to preform extremely specific hyperspace jumps to the point of being able to jump into a planetary atmosphere. In addition, it holds a heavy missile payload that can quickly lock on to and obliterate ground or air targets. Unfortunately, to hold the missile payload, navigational equipment, and powerful hyperdrive, the ship sacrifices maneuverability and shielding. Another issue was that once the missiles were expended, the T-wing's crew were reliant on two small laser cannons located near the cockpit for self-defense. Members of the alliance raised ethical concerns about the low shielding, and the ship was not put into wide production. However, aside from the prototypes produced for the rebellion, a single squadron that saw combat at endor, Incom went on to produce the ship for planetary defense forces during the era of the new republic. These ships, however, replaced the navigational equipment for better shielding. Certain bounty hunters saw value in the T-wing's unique hyperjump capabilities, and a few copies were created on commission in 6 ABY that were able to fit both the navigational equipment and shielding within the ship, though at such a price to make their production in large numbers impractical." "The T-wing was equipped with two powerful engines towards the rear. Speed wasn't an issue, although maneuverability was somewhat impaired." You can see that technique I was talking about on the wings here. I like how it turned out. "The T-wing could hold upwards of 40 mass driver missiles, fired from rocket pods at the wingtips. A hatch on the underside of the ship would be opened to fit the missiles, which were then belt-fed along the wings into the wingtip rocket pods." To be honest I'm not sure why I built that trapdoor thing in, there are other compartments in the ship. Nice place to load the missiles in-universe, though. "The T-wing had a crew consisting of a Pilot, Navigator/Gunner, and astromech. The Pilot was able to focus on piloting the craft and defense with the cockpit laser cannons, while the navigator/gunner helped compute and execute microjumps into planetary atmospheres before taking on the gunner role once at the target to fire the missiles. The astromech was necessary due to the sheer computational power required for the precision hyperjumps." I like my seat design here, like I said the angled windscreen was a big goal of the model too. "A rear compartment on the ship could be accessed that contained storage and hyperdrive unit access." I had no idea what to do with all the space inside this thing. I thought about making it hold a few alliance paratroopers, but thought the extra figures might be against the rules. Ultimately I think the hyperdrive and tool rack is fine, though I might try and do a separate, non-contest modification that holds the paratroopers. "The T-wing got it's name due to it's resemblance to the High Galactic letter, as part of a running theme with the starfighters Incom designed for the alliance." I mean, it's T-shaped. Not the hardest letter to pull off, but I think it's pretty clearly T-shaped. I want to try a wackier one like R or F later if I have the time. The ship's wings can angle horizontally for landing. Anyway, let me know what you think! I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, but I welcome any feedback you've got. Oh, and the ship has lime because I wanted to use green (since none of the standard paint jobs for alliance ships use green, though we have red, maroon, yellow, blue, and even orange), and lime was the only shade of green that those 2x3.5 wedges came in.
  13. Oh, it's beautiful. He looks just as good as I ever could have imagined. Even if I don't buy anything else this summer, I'll be buying this. I'm definately biased, as this is like the only time I'd ever get a statue, and this is one of my favorite characters, but it's awesome. Day 1 buy. A wake-up-at-6-to-buy-the-set purchase. And the fact that it's got the fallen order logo on the box... maybe there'll be more fallen order sets in the future. there's a chance... there's a chance.
  14. No offense, but I highly doubt lego is bursting at the seams to make AotC kaminoan B, much less that they're planning on any sets including AotC kaminoan B but not Lama Su. As for Yarel Poof, aside from that he's most well known for a robot chicken skit and would probably only ever appear in a Jedi Temple MBS, the head shape is different enough that were they to ever do a jedi temple MBS and include him, they'd likely make a new mold. TLDR: I'm 99.9% sure that we won't see this mold used for Yareal Poof or "AotC Kaminoan B" I'd hope he's got an updated version of this part since that's what he's supposed to look like in Kenobi, right? A fig "leaked" with the red eyes, it's just the vader from the imperial shuttle but with red lenses. It's definately fake (look, I can make that "leak" with some acrylic paint), but given that some lego "influencers" are reposting it, like that republic studs guy, I thought I'd mention it.
  15. It'd have to be Taun we, though. (Maybe Nala se, too, but I think it'd be difficult to print her headband thing on that mold) The mold lacks a stud connection on the top, which tells us they have no plans of re-using the mold for kaminoans like Lama Su. Also, Lego Star Wars does unique molds all the time. We haven't seen another set with the molds created for Boolio, Kaz Xiono, Ushar, Vonreg, Garindan, Jannah, Cardo, Kuruk, Vicrul, Labria, Ponda Baba, Fennec, Tech, new Bib, or the Quarren, just to name the last few years. And sure, we'll probably see Fennec and Tech's helmets again soon, but there are a LOT of one-off molds they do for this theme, and alien heads are the primary molds to be one-offs. Unless Nala Se becomes one of the main characters of TBB season 2, I don't think we'll be seeing kaminoans again anytime soon in lego. That is unfortunate. A red-eyed vader has been one of my most-wanted figures for awhile. That said, do we know if he has red eyes in kenobi? They seem to be heavily correlating this show with ROTS and he doesn't have red eyes there, right?
  16. I'd say Beskar Mando is a similar situation, right? desirable figure, $30 set. Difference being he was more likely to show up in future sets, but also a figure more people wanted... I'd say it's roughly similar. I'd guess around $10, although instead of Beskar Mando, which has been going down in price (I'd expect it to hit $5 within a few years so long as he keeps showing up), the kaminoan will go up the second the delta retires and climb higher and higher until another one releases. Actually, it's the third system scale for Obi-wans (granted there's also been like 5 others between the various other jedi, which is probably what you meant, but IIRC Obi-wan's is the only one to have the communications dish shown so I don't see why they'd put them in the other ones), and out of those other two models, 1 was in 2002 and the other came in a $100+ set, which is kind of crazy to me. I'm not a huge fan of the look, but I might pick it up for no other reason than I don't know when we'll see it again.
  17. The Scythe really is an amazing set. An extra figure would have been nice, especially Owen, but like you said, not the end of the world. Yeah, reddish brown works too. I think it depends, like you say, on film/setting. Nougat I think is the best choice for episodes 2 and 3, but ep1 obi-wan's hair is so clearly reddish brown. As for the Kenobi show, I'd say nougat or even dark tan.
  18. I wouldn't get your hopes up. If the D2C is stark tower, I could see MK6 and/or 7, but I wouldn't say whiplash mk2 is evidence that the racetrack scene set is coming. If anything, having this armory based on iron man 2 makes more sets for it less likely, I think so far the only film to get multiple "infinity saga" system sets is endgame? And I really don't think that mk2 vs mk4 set will ever happen. I think their best shot would have been in this set, an armory primarily based on iron man 2. I can't see them doing a set based on the interior of tony's house that's not the armory. And if they did a larger set with the exterior, I'm sure it would be iron man 3 based. Like you said, we're already getting 5 suits this summer with the new helmet. I don't know how many more new suits they'd do. I'm not saying the set is worth it (I certainly won't be buying it), just that any print alteration likely costs them the same as an entirely new print. As is, the set's got what, 2 new molds and 11? new prints?
  19. My guess, and @Aliencat feel free to correct me, is that this is more "inspired by" than an attempt at making the actual canon D-wing. Aside from the different color scheme, the missing large bottom tank, different cannon (more pointed in the model and looks more like a cylindrical blaster cannon in the canon ship), and overall proportion difference seem like they're big enough differences to be intentional rather than forgetful. If it is an attempt at re-creating that specific vehicle, than yeah, there are some proportion flaws and missing parts, but it's still a good MOC overall I'd say. Regardless of whether or not you were trying to remake the canon ship or do more of an "inspired by", it's a great build! The cockpit and overall design really remind me of that 2007-2008 "golden age" of lego star wars. Also, this may just be me, but it almost looks like the D-wing in TROS's cockpit is a y-wing cockpit with stuff kitbashed onto it? Pretty tangentially related to the MOC, I just thought it was a neat thing for it to look kitbashed despite being CGI.
  20. I hope there's a special reason, though I'm worried the reason is going to be similar to why the grand inquisitor looks substantially more like Rupert Friend than a Pau'un. Fourth sister in lego form would be awesome, and between this and FO2, purge troopers have GOT to be coming, right? For the show overall, I guess I kind of agree. Aside from the end, which I think there's no way for that to turn out well based on those leaks, I think a lot of it could be cool if executed correctly. Oh, I can do you one better there. I bought the krennic shuttle...parted it out....lost the canopy....and somehow am missing krennic's head. At least I have the death troopers and K-2SO. I'm glad they put a kaminoan in the set, what else would you want it to be in? A $30 set that hasn't been released since 2017, and not at a sub-$100 price point since 2002, isn't bad IMO. As for the orange hair thing...I dunno. On the one hand, it's lego, and I don't need photo accuracy. On the other hand...it is pretty orange. For a character like Cal, where he's got reddish hair, I think the orange is is fine, but for obi-wan, I think you may be right. Especially for the kenobi sets, like seriously, his hair is "nougat" at that point. Oh, and the brickheadz. Love vader's, but kenobi's looks really off. I think it's the beard. If they're available separately, I'll get vader. If not, I'll skip both.
  21. Didn't know the interior leaked until reading this. It looks great! Seems like you can fit 7-9 figs in there! Honestly, I'd prefer 4th and 5th to 3rd. Her design just isn't that interesting (human, not much armor, no helmet... I think she's the only no helmet inquisitor? Maybe the two rogues from the vader comics didn't either.) I do get why she's the fig over 4th sister though, seems she's a much bigger role than the others. A lot of people, myself included, are worried that it's just repeating the hits at the expense of character plotlines. There's ambiguity over whether Vader and Obi-wan met/should meet between episodes 3 and 4, and if you've read the "leaks" that may or may not be true: That said, I'm trying to remain optimistic about this show. If nothing else, it has a great lego set.
  22. You might be right, but look at how high up the "head" is compared to the other figures in the shot of all 4 of them. Might not be a single mold, but something's off there. How much of a connection to the neck would/does it actually have? I really want to get this set now, this is a REALLY good looking ship, and some excellent figures with Kenobi and the Grand Inquisitor.
  23. I mean, I think it depends on A: eye for detail, and B: how similar the suits would otherwise be. I would have preferred for all the suits with the standard MCU helmet look to have the...well, standard MCU helmet part, but I'd prefer to get the Striker with the new helmet than to get the MK 2 again but with the new helmet. The thing is, IIRC, any print alterations technically constitute a "new print". I would assume that the reason we don't get more new prints in general isn't because they can't pay a guy to make new print designs, because Ashnflash makes like 50 new prints a week. I'm guessing it's some other step that's not substantially cheaper if the print is only changed slightly, because again, otherwise we'd see slightly altered prints very frequently if they were cheaper to do. As is, I'm gonna guess making the MK3 a MK4 would have been around the same print cost as making it the MK19 or something, and as such, we get the MK3 again.
  24. Complete twist on what I thought they would be. Delta-7 really doesn't look good IMO, I think i'll pass on it even if there's an excellent Kenobi and Kaminoan in it. But that shuttle..... That thing is BEAUTIFUL. Excellent shaping, and it looks pretty big and detailed for the price compared to similar sets. Figures are great too, I love that Kenobi, wonder if he has new hair. Fifth brother seems to be using a single mold for the armor/head/helmet with the face printed on, which isn't ideal, but it's a very minor nitpick. It looks like the old inquisitor lightsaber mold is returning, but this is a slightly new armor piece. Grand inquisitor looks great too, though it's a little weird his eyes are plain red when he has yellow eyes in rebels and rupert friend's eyes in kenobi. Again though, that's a super minor nitpick (especially since I have the rebels one from 2015 and can just replace the head) . Reva is fine, looks like she uses the thinner mandalorian cape, which I've been hoping they'd put in more sets. I think Dooku would benefit from that cape in dark brown if we ever get another one of him. I think whether or not I pick up the shuttle depends on how much I like kenobi. It's an amazing set, but I really do not have the money this summer, and if I get any set, it's gonna be BD-1.
  25. Now THAT is a great boga moc. The fern element usage is genius, the leaf feet are great, and I love the boomerangs for tail feathers. I'm not a huge fan of the face, but I definately couldn't find a better way when I did it last year. I just don't think there's a way to do it that looks close enough to Boga, and it's one of the few situations where I think a molded head is better, but yours is probably the best that can be done brick-built. (and better than that 2005 molded head)
