LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Leakers of falconfan's type tend to always find SOMETHING to talk about most of the time- it's not like the other leakers haven't had anything to say over the past month or two. I think the most likely possibility is that his source went dry. The question is more if lego would delay any possible tie-in sets for it. It was/is far enough out that they'd have time to delay it, but Andor S2 sets are also far more likely to have mainstream OT appeal, or at least work fairly well for Andor S1, unlike something like the skeleton crew ship, which would likely have near-zero appeal without the show if it's a new ship model with all-unknown characters. Personally I think we probably see one set for the acolyte, if any, and the only skeleton crew set being the delayed main ship. I'd love a TBBS3 set but I'm not sure if we'll get one, and I'd be SHOCKED if we got anything for Tales S2. They haven't done any sets for new animation since TBB S1. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures

Done. Work should start this weekend. Any suggestions for modifications or additional sets (a system set, and I'll need some dioramas- I'm thinking the Lego Star Wars complete saga lobby for one, but not complete sold on it. Maybe a midi-scale could also be fun.) -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

100% this- comics ALWAYS have wacky stuff and contradict eachother even in the same continuity. There are literal hundreds of marvel issues released every year. Marvel movies and shows are much higher budget and don't come close to that number of releases per year, so it's not unreasonable to expect a much higher standard of consistency and continuity. Hold on- he was ARRESTED by the NYPD. He was defeated by a 10 year old boy. -

This is the likely justification for if/when he's not in avengers 5 and 6 sets despite being in the film. There's a not-insignificant chance Secret Wars features north of 100 heroes- anyone lego's worried about even remotely, they aren't including. While Heath Ledger's joker hasn't been in any sets below a 16+ age rating, I think that's probably just because they didn't make many Dark Knight sets. It's not like Batman Begins's scarecrow is all that different from Heath's joker in terms of age rating. I think lego really does just view it as nothing from an R/TVMA/M rated movie/show/game. Maturity is a lot harder to quantify if you're going off of more of a general "what does the character do" type of thing. The ratings give lego something specific to point to. If deadpool doesn't say or do anything that would give the film an R rating, I don't see many parents complaining at all. Not to mention, in the wider marvel universe (at least in the comics), most heroes view deadpool as a moron and/or screw-up, so I don't think it'd have the same "hey kids look how cool deadpool is" vibe other deadpool content can be interpreted as having. -

I've mentioned this before in other threads, but I actually have inside knowledge at lego and can exclusively confirm the 1HY 2025 sets as the following: Luke's Landspeeder microfighter ($9.99): Farmboy Luke Luke's Landspeeder Mech ($15.99): Mech styled like Luke's landspeeder with Farmboy Luke. Farmboy Luke battle pack ($19.99): 4x Farmboy Lukes, Luke's Landspeeder. Luke's Landspeeder ($37.99): Farmboy Luke, R2-D2, C-3PO, Ben Kenobi. Landspeeder Advencture (4+) ($49.99): Landspeeder and a moisture vaporator on a rocky outcropping. Farmboy Luke, C-3PO. Buildible Luke with Landspeeder ($89.99): Buildible Luke figure on a sort of chibi version of his landspeeder. No minifigs. UCS Luke's Landspeeder ($699.99): Much larger than 2022 version. Comes with Farmboy Luke (poncho, hat) and R2-D2 (back printing) MBS Luke's Landspeeder ($349.99): A large Luke's Landspeeder that pops open into a figure display. Comes with Farmboy Luke, Farmboy Luke (arm printing), Farmboy Luke (hat), Farmboy Luke (Poncho), Farmboy Luke (hat and arm printing), Farmboy Luke (poncho and arm printing), Farmboy Luke (hat, poncho, and arm printing), as well as a new Farmboy Luke with dual-molded legs (white upper legs with white lower legs but using the dual molding process). I guess it depends on "for a while" means to you. I don't think we see a new falcon next year, especially since there's both the system dark falcon and midi falcon that just released, but I do think 2027's likely- it's just that not getting an OT falcon for another 3.5 years feels like awhile to me. 3 years between falcons isn't a huge gap, but like you say, it'll be 16 years between system OT falcons (and 8 between system grey falcons- it'd be nice to have OT figs, but the TROS falcon is pretty close in terms of build, unlike the "evil" or kessel run falcons) -

I see what you're saying and that is possible, but I honestly think it's a coincidence. It just happens to be that lego's drastically scaling back what they do for new releases, and Red Hulk made it in because kids see Red Hulk and it's more immediately "cool avengers character" than "weird face dude in a purple suit", "human-looking lady with hammer", etc. Kang is an outlier there, but at the same time, it's Kang, and I still don't see ANY way lego logically could have been like "nah, we don't need him in the sets" unless they knew what Majors was up to ahead of time or something. Exactly. Whatever the reason, it's not going to be related to what the character did in the movie, be it particularly evil acts or just being a lame villain. -

Yeah it looks real to me too. A fine figure. the gold symbols on his jedi robes are a good bit of detailing to set him apart in-universe and do make the fig stand out a little more than your standard jedi. The head print is also really good- this looks like Ahmed Best. A Bespin playset similar to yavin could be a lot of fun, and would be a good way to get Lando. And yeah, we're not getting a new ESB falcon anytime soon, which was sort of my point- it's put my "we're gonna get a new ESB Falcon" belief in the dirt. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
One of the two has to be something else. I can't see us getting two "most of the core avengers in their circle shot" sets in the same wave. I feel like the Danger Room and Cerebro should be enough interesting details, along with the standard action setpieces around it (clear bricks, explosions, etc), to keep it at the same dynamic level as the Bugle or Avengers Tower. Remember, the Bugle is mostly offices- the X-men's mansion would actually have a more play-oriented interior with said danger room. What, the eternals are my favorite! Evil superman, Oppenheimer's op... the fast one.... uh, Angelina Jolie? I'm gonna provoke you because Red Hulk is not an alien. -
And robin with a rat and a fork. It's not stupid to not understand all my dumb jokes and references- these were just joke figures for the set, since the set itself was never real and became a long-running joke. To explain: Venomized Batman is referencing how lego marvel loves to make venomized characters instead of new ones, the joke being that DC would do the same. Jensen Ackles batman is just a reference to the actor loving batman- he says "I'm batman" in a non-DC show, he's voiced him in animation, and he wants to play him in live-action. Hawiian shirt flash is a reference to the fact that the guy who last played flash- Ezra Miller- went on a crime spree in hawii. It well could be the reason the flash set got retooled into a batman 1989 set. clear peacemaker references his actor- John Cena's old wrestling motto, "you can't see me", and the wider "John Cena is invisible" meme. Omni Man is from invincible- the joke is that a supeman knockoff is included and superman himself is not. Hamill's joker is a reference to a specific meme that's an image of joker where his face is messed up from an explosion or something and he looks shocked, and then it's titled "Live Joker Reaction". Crowbar joker is indeed a reference to Death in the Family. The joke is just that it'd be a goofy CMF costume figure of one of the darkest moments in batman history, like the Killing Joke joker they threw in the Lego Batman CMF. I was thinking 30 seconds from mars, but morbin time is even better. We give him an alternate morbed face, too. whatever it was, it was 99.1% pure Many thanks. I was considering adding Bueno Excellente but figured he was too messed up even for a joke list.
-
Oh my gosh how could I have forgotten that. Though if we get him, we'd need to get some more iconic characters. I'm thinking a lineup something like this: Venomized Batman, Batman (Jensen Ackles's soldier boy outfit holding a sign saying "I'm batman"), Batman (using the captain marvel cowl), Flash (hawiaan shirt), Klarion the witch boy, Black Adam (The Rock), Peacemaker (using all trans-clear elements), Omni-Man, Dogwelder, Madam Web, and three joker figures: Hamill's Joker with damaged face and open mouth, Jared Leto (Not his joker- actor jared leto), and Joker wearing one of those CMF outfits but it's a crowbar. Oh, and Paul Dano's Riddler (holding a 2x3 tile with a sign that says Does He Know?).

LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
@Agent Kallus and @Karalora, unfortunately, I believe cross-licensed theme new molds are pretty rare, and it's been speculated there's some sort of license difficulty with it. They have happened- Invincible Iron Man's helmet has gone on to be used all over the place- likely due to the iron-man specific details on that helmet being printed- but the more specific the mold, the less likely they're able to cross it over, even if the source material characters look similar. -

I'm 99% sure he's talking about those imperial construction dome things. Could be cool, but it is almost certainly a death star. The amount of kids who would want this compared to a death star is miniscule. Hoth's been covered pretty well aside from a new Echo Base, so I feel like if we could just get that and/or a Cloud City playset, it'd be great. I've actually been saying since like 2021 that I thought we'd get an ESB falcon the next sumer, but I have officially been proven wrong with the "evil" falcon -
I said it'd be my last post on the subject, and I'll stick by it. I honestly believe that if we could even just get one good family-friendly batman cartoon out there, we'd get the theme back to a healthy state. If it is the tower of fate, we need EVERY DC joke included. You-know-who and the you-know-who-ler. I want Luthor with a large pallet containing 40 1x1 cake tiles. I want Dogwelder. I want superman to be excluded but characters suspiciously similar to omni-man and homelander to be included.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think you may have responded to the wrong guy, but if we go off you responding to me- The mods seem to be letting everyone talk about this stuff, they are not pandering to anyone. I dunno if they removed a post of yours or something (non-mods can't see if that happens unless they saw the post before it was removed) but if they did, I believe they usually give reasons for that, and I'd assume it's something other than just the fact that you were talking about the topics the others are. Again, I'm not sure you meant to respond to my post here- I actively said the rumored other choices for Reed implied that the casting director was looking regardless of race for the best person for the job, and then said I thought Pedro would make a good Reed (albiet he needs to shave). Don't think it's cool to accuse someone of what you seem to be accusing the guy of because he wants the cast to look like the comics, though. At the end of the day it's a discussion thread and people tend to discuss related content such as recent films or how older films relate to the coming, assumably set-getting ones. That IS a thing the mods seem to be fine with. No, it's Paul. I thought we'd been over this. Side note you gotta work Madame Web into the Morb Adam profile pic somehow. Maybe photoshop a spider somewhere in there. Yeah, that's unfortunate. Though like @Legocentrico says it's a bit weird to get two sets that'll have largely the same figure cast in the same wave. Wolverine's room is a genius idea, and given they did the "spider-man sitting at a desk with a picture of spider-man on the wall" meme, I think it might happen -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Agreed about the marvels, and about the fact that disney's doing with the volume what Lucas did with CGI back in the day. Yeah, we get it, it's a fun new tool, NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE ON THE VOLUME HOLY COW. I do like the cast, though to be fair I only actually have seen Pedro in anything to my knowledge, so for the rest of them I'm mainly going off of "do they look how I'd want them to?" Sue is blond. Ben literally does not matter he's a CGI rock. Johnny looks more accurate than Chris Evans or Micheal B Jordan (Which, holy cow, they've both gone on to be great characters, but man did they not do a good job as the human torch) People not caring about the source material is such a big issue- you really can tell. Cavill got removed from Witcher seemingly FOR caring about the source material. The halo writers didn't care about the source material, and... look at the first season of that show. And then you get stuff like Loki, Invincible, etc, where the creators/actors love the source material, and it's excellent TV. You need to see him without facial hair, I think. I can see him playing the personality well, but he needs to shave. (This is also a case where I'm not as worried about them changing it up- Pascal's a good actor and we know people like Dev Patel and Adam Driver were being heavily considered, so they were looking for the best man for the job regardless of race) His comment may have been a little crass (though not altogether inaccurate to the comics), but c'mon man. If you're gonna accuse him of something, go out and say it. And then remember this is a lego forum and you're accusing people of that for... not liking the cinematic masterpiece that is the marvels and making a bit of an out-of-pocket jab at a way they could mess up F4 related to a weird comics dynamic. -
This is going to be my last post on the subject but... wow, dude. I've sent a PM with the other part, because it's unrelated to DC whatsoever, but... you, uh, undercut yourself a bit there. My point with it not hurting and then listing things that elicit a negative response from me is that while those things may be annoying or even "hurt" to me, they do not actually cause harm on any objective level. If the only standard of harm is someone feeling upset, than everything in the world causes harm. But my roommate's not actually hurting anyone by loudly playing Xbox. The guy two rows behind me in tests isn't hurting anyone by chewing his pencil. My little brother didn't actually hurt me with his singing lessons when I was a kid. The burden is not on the world around me to conform to my personal standards, it's on me to adapt to the norms of the world. The Jonkler/Man jokes don't actually cause harm on any sort of objective level. I'm sorry they upset you, but they are words. And more than that, they aren't slurs, they aren't insults, they aren't even at anyone's expense or mean spirited in any capacity. I'm sorry that you're not a fan of them, but it's not reasonable to expect an online forum to stop making a joke (again, and not one that's insulting anyone. It's not like people are going around like "man *minority group* sure is worthy of ridicule, huh?") because you personally find it upsetting. No, sorry, I was talking about the shadow box, saying that I assume they started with "2023 DC D2C" before moving to general ideas. Yes. Next question. And in advance, I didn't call the justice league for help, I'm proud of Dick Grayson, and I am indeed stupid. Well actually the iluminati qanon (a subset of ganon from Zelda) lizard people are the ones that made sub-optimal prints on clone trooper helmets as part of an insidious plot to hurt their own sales and blame it on the prequels, obviously, if the star wars thread is to be believed (and I believe everything I read on the internet.) I do actually think that they probably narrow it down as they go- starting with the set slot, then deciding general concept, then specifics- but neither of us know for sure. I will say I do think in general it's more likely that they went "alright, what do we want our next batman wave to be based on" and found more specific decisions from there. I also sort of get the feeling DC isn't too pushy for the specific products, because generally you'd assume they'd want sets based on the new movies, and aside from the batman we really don't get sets based on the new movies anymore. Now I don't think there's an insidious anti justice league plot- I think that lego just for whatever reason seems to think Batman, and specifically Batman films, are what do well on shelves (and honestly they're probably right- I don't think justice league sets would do poorly, but batman is the moneymaker). But I do think they are consciously choosing to focus on batman rather than the wider universe.

Dune 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
Unfortunately I don't know if there is a next. This is the icons subline, not a full dune theme, and there aren't many iconic designs besides the ornithopter (Plus, the fact that they went out of their way to include almost every major character and every major outfit makes me think that at least at the time of the ornithopter's design, nothing was in place.) If the ornithopter does well, I'd like to see a diorama set of Shai Halud's maw with Paul standing in front. But what I'd want most is battle packs for each house/faction. Fremen, Sardukar, Atreides, and Harkennon. But I don't think we'll see anything for a few years- probably at most something in 2026/2027 to sync up with a movie based on the second novel, if they're planning that. -
It's really surprising to me that we haven't had a lego King Shark yet. Yeah, he'd require a new bigfig body mold, but "giant shark man" would be a huge sell for kids. Ok but hear me out- this guy in this white van says he's got the Tower of Fate set in there. I gotta go check that out, right? I forgot to turn my helmet's voice modulator on. Am I stupid? Well, hold on. Assumably it was a DC D2C, and they narrowed it down from there. The budget meant we wouldn't have gotten a full crew of titans or something (what was it, 5 new prints? 7?), but they did make a choice to do a Burtoncave instead of a comics batcave.

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Or even higher. Lego's been spiking the thresholds recently. I don't really like it. Value wise it's not bad- the GWPs have been getting huge recently to the point of sets that would retail for $20-30- but it's a little annoying that the middle GWPs aren't actual lego, as especially with how much they stagger releases, I can rarely justify spending up to the highest threshold. (This could be easily solved by me just waiting to purchase the january/march sets I wanted until May, but no. I'm impatient.) Yeah, I feel confident this is a death star of some sort, but I would love a new Cloud City. System playsets are so rare, but they were the most fun I had with stock lego sets as a kid, they offer the most play experience. And with lego's improvements in quality since 2003, a new system cloud city could easily look good enough to display in an adult collection. -

So when do we think they're gonna follow up on that infiltrator/saw tease? Obviously the set doesn't release for a few months, but if they gave us the silhouette already, maybe we're in for an earlier-than-normal reveal? -
Huh, and where exactly did Exabricks talk about this? I haven't seen any posts or stories. This guy is a fake leaker, man. He posted indiana jones "leaks" awhile back that we already knew weren't true, and he's just been repeatedly claiming we're still getting the temple of doom set, the flash set (which he seems to be backtracking on now), another wave of indy sets, etc.
-
Putting aside the fact that BTAS doesn't have a "final battle" so to speak, and that if lego went to the effort to remove the flash figs from the batmobile, they arent going to then make another set with those figs, you implied pretty heavily you'd seen a picture and you're now saying it could be based on three wildly different things.
-
So, we had a blister pack for DC just a couple years back for one thing. Second, no offense, but c'mon man. You've done nothing put post blatantly false (and in some cases already disproven) leaks on this and other threads. Who are you expecting to fall for this? That could be pretty neat, though I'm skeptical- The Teen Titans are not Batman, for one, and I feel like if lego wanted to do Teen Titans sets, they'd try to draw in the young demo of the current cartoon. In the scenario where we did get the tower, though, I'd think there's a good chance we could actually get the 2003 cartoon, since it's pretty fan-loved and a D2C would imply they are going for an older audience. In which case I'd expect something like: Robin (Dick Grayson), Cyborg, Beast Boy, at least 2 animals for beast boy to transform into, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, Slade, and 2-4 other characters. We'll say Brother Blood, Kid Flash, Terra, and Jinx.
