Yeah, we wouldn't get any direct suicide squad sets. All of the major projects with that franchise have been R/M/TV-MA/what have you. The characters showing up in Batman sets is the most we'll get. Teen Titans SHOCKS me with it's lack of sets. The one widely availible cartoon aimed at kids right now from DC IS Teen Titans Go, and while it's not the most fan-loved, it's weird that lego hasn't tried picking up that cash cow. Absolutely on the money. It's pretty clear lego counts 4+ sets as their own thing. If you want to complain about the fact that we aren't getting many good Batman sets anymore, it's not on the 1 4+ set per wave that we get. You can blame it on DC for failing it's movie universe and not having had a mainline Batman cartoon out for a good number of years now. You can blame it on Lego for producing so few sets and making some really weird figure inclusion choices. You can blame it on Paul. You can blame it on kids 6-12 for not looking up from their Ipads and skibidi toilet long enough to see that there are lego sets based on the bat guy from fortnite. One of the only things you CAN'T really blame it on is the 4+ sets, because they're doing their job- a single set per wave that provides a lego batman product for the 4+ age range- just fine. I can't speak for everyone on the forum, or everyone making the aslume jokes, but I myself am indeed an adult, and given the age of the games, I'd assume a good number of people making the jokes are. Sure, yeah, it's a space for lego DC/Batman. I think people are making the jokes because there ISN'T much regular talk to be had right now about the theme. And at the end of the day- and I am going to reiterate this- saying batman and joker's names wrong isn't actually hurting anyone. As for excluding people, I feel like "oh, they're saying batman terms and names wrong. It's a joke" feels kind of intuitive. I don't think anyone's using aslume jokes to try and keep people out of fan areas. I'm sorry it's putting you off from wanting to be in the chat, but in general I think people have done an alright job including actual discussion alongside the jokes. Sure, there are some posts that are fully Aslume jokes, and maybe those people should try to add actual discussion (which again, loops us around to there not being much to say besides "Wow this new wave is pretty small" and "I hope we get sets for the james gunn films", which in themselves have been repeated alot) I truly am sorry to hear that. I also have medically diagnosed ASD. I sat in the funny room and had the doctors show me pictures of people and ask what I thought they were feeling. I had them do the funny brain scans as a kid where I got to watch movies while they put gel and sensor thingies on my head. I've worked a long time through therapy and stuff, so I've really gotten it down to a hard time reading faces, being good at math, and being irrationally upset by noises. I can recognize that people aren't making more noise than is "allowed". Doesn't stop my from feeling like chucking a rock at my roommate's head when he's on his xbox while I'm trying to work, and I can hear him in my room. Doesn't stop me from wanting to scream when I'm taking a test and there's a guy two rows back chewing on his pencil. I can't stop the world around me from being louder than I'd like it to be. I can control how I respond to my feeling, and I can take steps to reduce the noise for myself. I have a white noise machine, noise cancelling headphones, and a quiet place to go to when those aren't enough. My point being, it's hard to control other people's actions- especially speech, and especially on the internet. You're certainly allowed to not be happy about the aslume jokes, but I don't believe it's rational to try and stop people from making them, just like it's not rational for me to expect the world to become quiet whenever I have work to do. And at the end of the day, the internet is going to be the internet. Just on a general level, I believe it's wise for someone's personal sanctuary to be something they can control. For me, that's my legos, and my transformers. I'll give you another example- I hated it when people were making comments about Sabra in the Captain America 4 set. I was hyped to see an isreali superhero, especially given the events of the past few months, and it spooked me how angry people were. But I can't force other posters to be like "yeah, go sabra", or to shut up about not wanting her to be in the set. They're allowed to feel that way, and allowed to post as such. And, until moderators say otherwise, we are allowed to say things like man and jonkler because we find it funny.

If you're 4 years old and you don't have a bricklink account set up with full financial details, what are you even doing? And nothing wrong with liking it, just like nothing wrong with disliking it. Maybe. It's also very possible the lego counts the 4+ sets separately. But either way, the worst case scenario is that ONE set a year gets dedicated to children in the 4+ age range. Is it so bad that one set a year is one that allows little kids to get introduced to the theme? Yes, it feels worse when we get so few sets, but that's on lego for producing so few, or DC for not having ancillary material for kids to get into, etc. The fact that we get a 4+ set every year, if nothing else, implies that they sell well.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think we're unreasonably optimistic suggesting that even Daredevil and Bullseye would be in a CMF. People are forgetting the show is TV-MA, I don't think they'll produce a direct tie-in. (They got conned into Echo, and I doubt they're eager to repeat the experience) The most we'd get is the characters in an otherwise comic-based set. -
Dude, let people have their fun. The Man/Jonkler jokes aren't hurting anyone, and are helping keep conversation in this theme up and a little more lighthearted than "our only real system sets are progressively more expensive batmobiles" Well, one: People are allowed to have other opinions. Some reasons why people might not like the set: The setting: The burton films, as much as lego seems to think they're The Spectre's gift to man, don't hold anywhere near the universal appeal that a comic batcave would have. The figures: For the amount this set costs, we did not get many figs, and a siginificant chunk of them are either suits/parts we've had before, or just normal men in suits. The build: Sort of tying in with the setting, this is a pretty dour and generic look for the batcave. Where's the T-rex, the giant penny? Enclosing it in a box also makes it feel much smaller.

LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree- it'll be the "main cast" so to speak. Jonsey, another couple default skins, the fish guy, Peely, etc. Technically speaking, he's not license locked. Lego has a deal with hasbro- aside from Optimus in 2022, there's dungeons and dragons sets coming, and at least one more transformer. -
Did we call the justice league for help? I haven't seen Soup or The in like 3 years? I haven't even seen Boy recently! Please do not take this the wrong way- while yes, we should probably be putting actual discussion alongside the jokes (not that there's much to discuss right now).... you might not want to be the one bringing the hammer down on spam posting. I think it's really funny that the flow somehow got MORE insane from the aslume jokes. No, guys, more expensive sets are not better- not if they don't also up the quality/quantity of stuff included- and minifigures are not really the most important part of lego sets. (That last one's a little more subjective, but I am gonna stick with it- at the end of the day, what seperates lego from other brands is the lego system- action figures are already a thing.)

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

The tremortusk is such a good way to tell if an account is fake because for some reasons so many fake leakers left that one up even after hiding other fake leak posts. All that said, white vader'll probably look more or less like that anyway. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great list, but luckily we won't have to wait that long for Saw! I've finally managed to get a better hold on my workload and am able to finish up the lego project I've been working on for... about a half a year now, I guess. Point being, I've got a couple projects lined up, and I need a suggestion as to which I should do first- Each would be a full wave, here's a sample: Ahsoka Wave: Microfighter: Ahsoka's Jedi Shuttle ($12.99): Ahsoka Tano Smallest set: Bandit Attack ($9.99): Howler and rock with Sabine Wren (hair) and a Bandit. Battle Pack: Night Troopers ($19.99): E-web and rocky terrain with 3x night trooper, 1x night death trooper Standard set: Sabine Wren's homestead ($37.99): Sabine Wren's speeder and a small duel area with an elevator feature up ~6 bricks to Sabine's room with helmets, map, etc. Comes with Sabine Wren (no armor), Shin Hati, 2x HK-87 droid, and a Loth Cat. Standard set: Morgan Elsbeth's shuttle ($59.99): Shuttle fits 4-5 figs. Comes with Morgan Elsbeth, navigator droid, Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, and Sabine Wren. Large set: Ahsoka Tano's T-6 Jedi Shuttle ($139.99): A MUCH larger Ahsoka's shuttle with a 2-3 seater cockpit and interior with removable table that can be stored in a compartment. Comes with Ahsoka Tano (white robe), Huyang, Sabine Wren (armor), Sabine Wren (training), Ahsoka Tano (grey robe), Ezra Bridger. 25th Anniversary Wave 2: Microfighter: The Azure Angel ($12.99): Anakin Skywalker (clone wars 2003) Smallest set: Rebel Combat Speeder ($9.99): Rebel Fleet Trooper, 25th anniversary minifigure Rebel Friend. Includes a minikit. Battle Pack: Clone Spec Ops ($19.99): AT-RT with ARF Trooper, Clone Sniper, Clone Commando, and a 25th anniversary 2003 ARC Trooper. Standard set: Exogol ($49.99): Sith Throne and Omnic Harness with the Eternal Emperor, Palpatine (omnic harness), Rey, Ben Solo, and 25th anniversary Darth Momin. Standard set: TIE Phantom ($69.99): TIE Pilot, 2x Shadow Trooper, Emperor Palpatine, and 25th anniversary figure Mara Jade. Large set: Stinger Mantis ($149.99): Interior cockpit (seats all 3), mission select table, living area, kitchen, and workshop. Comes with Cal Kestis, Cere Junda, Nightsister Merrin, Greez Ditruis, Second Sister, 2x Purge Trooper, and 25th anniversary figure Dagan Gera. The other one I've been considering is the bounty hunter ships Hound's Tooth, Punishing One, etc, which wouldn't be a traditional wave due to, you know, none of them fitting retail price points under $70 or so. -
[MOC] MINIs from Ahsoka - 7 NEW Models
Mandalorianknight replied to obijon's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is excellent! Every model looks great! I'm totally using that HK-87 design for my own collection- looks spot-on. -
That's a pretty big hope, man. Do not give yourself any expectations. This theme manages to disappoint me no matter how low my expectations for it are. Do you not know the Ham Aslume thing? I know we've made Aslume jokes here before- Many of us have been calling Joker Jonkler for the past few pages of discussion, so that's why. Edit: Based on later comments I apparently I need to clarify that this isn't some sort of accusation- I just know like half the posts in this thread have been people saying "jonkler", so I figured you'd already have been confused from prior posts. Soup wasn't in Ham City. Why is he in the CMF? Is he stupid lost?
-
I hope so- the Climber suits are probably one of my three favorite ninja suits (alongside the Kimonos from when they fought the stone army and the Golden Dragon forms), but I'm not spending hundreds on ninjago, so it'd be nice if they were in enough sets to have decent BL prices for the figs. Ras's red outfit does make me wonder if we'll be seeing red-clothed Wolf Mask warriors, or even an anocandrai cultist type thing where they turn into Chima wolves. But what specifically IS Lloyd's element? I haven't seen every episode, so it's entirely possible they have definitively stated it, but it was my understanding that it was always kind of vague what it specifically was. I was saying it would be cool if his power wasn't something the source dragons created, but rather a direct source power. (I.e. Kai has Fire powers, which come from the source dragon of Motion. I'm saying it would be cool if, for example, Lloyd had Energy powers that came from a source dragon of Energy- he has the direct form of that dragon's power rather than an offshoot of it.)
-
I'm really interested in this as it has the potential to finally give a real answer as to Lloyd's power, and also another reason for him to be as powerful as he is. Imagine how cool it would be if it was revealed that Lloyd didn't have a standard elemental power (Which to my knowledge has rotated from energy, life, nature, "green power", etc), but energy was actually a source dragon power he's able to use directly.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
What's incredible is I've heard that line got cut from the film, which is peak Sony. I think there is a good shot we get her, they have been throwing non-spidey characters into the sets. Like @NXS7 said, the magazine Ben's reading is a specific issue. And while sure, ben could just randomly be reading or a magazine from 60 years ago, it feels much more likely that it's a hint towards the time period. The real question is whether or not the artist would know the time period or not- same thing with the suits. -

As if lego needs a reason to repeat characters. It'll be: $10 set: Mr Fantastic, HERBIE robot or thug made of re-used parts $38 set: Human Torch (flame on), Invisible Woman, secondary villain $90 set: Mr Fantastic (Stretchy arms), Invisible Woman (same as before), Thing, secondary villain (same as before). -
LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's a solid estimate, but I think it skews too far towards the heroes. It'd be a little strange for the biggest system set of the summer to contain ~6 of the same characters (many in the same outfits) as last summer. My guess is we get Stormtrooper Han and Luke, as well as a prisoner Leia if the detention cell is included, and that'll be it for the heroes. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The image- which I think people are reading more into than they should, but still- just has the mustache, which I think would be a little better, though I'd still prefer a clean shave. I think a comic-based set with figs with the show designs is much more likely. At the end of the day, it's still TV-MA, and something they wouldn't want to officially produce a marked tie-in to. They have a bit more deniability with putting DD, kingpin, and/or bullseye and punisher in a comic-based set (I unfortunately don't think we get Bernthal's punisher- as great as the character is, Punisher's another one that's pretty hard to justify being appropriate for kids-, aside from potentially something like an 18+ oscorp where he's just listed as punisher and shown, like, fighting venom or something). If the product is directly based on a TV-MA property, lego isn't gonna do it. (Echo was an accident as the rating was thought to be TV-14 at the time before marvel thought it would be funny to throw a bit of blood over the project and pretend it was the next Daredevil.) -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
No... I thought I repressed it... no... Paul Atreides.... Paul.... Spider-Man, NO! Hopefully a new one, because I really hope Pedro shaves. Krasinski's look was good for a one-off, but Reed is usually clean-shaven. Despite it being MA, I actually think we might have a chance at an indirect tie-in. Daredevil's mature- I wouldn't want a kid watching the show- but throwing his tv show outfit into a comic-based spidey set alongside a kingpin minifigure would probably be fine. The way I see it is that while daredevil is a mature show, it's not as overtly crass as deadpool. It's more like The Godfather than The Boys. It also generally promotes a solid set of morals and has some real applicable depth to it. Daredevil is a good man- I'd say he has a better set of morals in that show than a good chunk of MCU heroes. Now I don't think lego necessarily looks at that on the good end, but it's certainly something they'd look at compared to deadpool, who a lot of parents see as a bad influence on kids, who are too young to understand that deadpool isn't meant to be a good example of a functioning human. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not to get too off topic, but kids have known most of those words for forever, it's not a 2024 thing (though parents do seem to not care as much that their young children are using that sort of profanity). The question isn't "is deadpool 3 going to introduce kids to these words (which it still would for many kids)" it's "will kids/early teens seeing deadpool 3 associate the hero's constant language and sex references with being "cool" and start using that language more frequently/idolizing that sort of behavior", which.... yes. There's a reason it's rated R. This isn't a "video games cause violence" thing. Go to your local comic shop and there are enough grown men who idolize deadpool for that sort of thing. It's understandable why lego wouldn't want a children's toy promoting a movie of that rating. (Again, I want to clarify I'm not saying something like "deadpool movies shouldn't exist" or "we should legally prohibit parents from letting children see this". But movie ratings are a thing, and most children do not have the ability to understand "while this movie makes the protagonist look cool, he's using terminology that someone my age shouldn't, and making references to behavior someone my age -quick aside here- or, like, in general? Look, free country, but if I met a guy who talked like deadpool in real life, I would not want to interact with that man- shouldn't be doing. I will be a fan of this franchise whilst understanding that deadpool is not meant to be a role model but a deeply flawed character who uses humor to cover his self-hatred") -

I know, but I highly doubt they'd use the only F-bomb in the trailer, and that it'd just be deadpool's reacting to seeing something kill a TVA agent -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Guys either of you can just end the conversation. No need to have the last word. I agree in general-I wouldn't want lego to produce stuff for horror movies or the like. But stuff like Deadpool and Daredevil I'm more iffy on. I think deadpool as a character should be availible, though I wouldn't necessarily want branded deadpool 3 sets to be a thing for any reason other than seeing you eat a minifigure. It's funny, I think deadpool is one of those characters that spawns a lot of annoying fans because they think sex references and profanity make him cool and mature (I had a roommate like that and he... did what deadpool did in the trailer when the TVA woke him up. He no longer lives in the suite.) But there is/can be some really interesting stuff done with the character- the fact that he struggles so much with self-loathing leads to some actually pretty touching stories, like the one where he recognizes he's not the right person to help a girl on a ledge but essentially takes her mind off of it with his insane banter until he gets her to people who can. I thought the first two deadpools shined when they explored that part of him, and it looks like this one might be doing that too. And then you've got daredevil, which is widely regarded as the best superhero show of all time. Now, I don't think that "They're good/they have something to say" is why they should be able to show up in stuff, moreso that alongside the deadpool movies, you've got his appearances in cartoons, the lego marvel game, etc. Same with Daredevil. Now it's harder for deadpool because his main costume is pretty similar in the movies and comics, but I think a bright red suit distanced from the movie design could be ok in an 18+ mansion or something. Also, while I'm not sure I'll like how far they end up going, lego is pushing the boundry in that respect. Dune is still PG-13, but it's a very mature story- they don't get quite as explicit with the Baron's particular evil as the book, and we haven't hit much of the more graphic violence yet, but we still had people having their blood drained out for the sardukar's war paint, and it's still got a pretty dreary tone throughout that picks up when... Paul stabs and kills a man. No, don't get me wrong, I totally agree- I said 6-12 because it's the standard lego set listed age range, not because I think the movie's appropriate for 13 year olds. And that term aside (which honestly the joke probably could have slid into a pg-13 movie as they don't really imply what it means), the trailer drops the F-bomb and TVA agents splatter their blood all over the place. -
