  1. Honestly it's so bad that I kind of like it. If the set was gru and 1-2 minions in normal outfits, I probably would have gotten it. They've done this before- a number of the january 2017 sets were released in march in the US, for example. It's annoying. Interested to see the price changes, though. Sometimes they don't even say they do it, too. The AT-TE was impossible to find for the first month or so in a lot of the US- it wasn't that it was selling out, a lot of retailers just weren't receiving the set.
  2. It's possible- I believe it has happened before- but not very common. M-Tron is an in-house subtheme, so I don't think there'd be any weird rights stuff with the mold, but it just comes down to whether or not lego decides to do it.
  3. Yeah- at that price the Sarlacc better be a pretty substantial build unlike what we've had before. I think it'll be similar to the 2013 figure. Lego's fine with the general amount of clothing worn- it's more than some of the city beach swimsuits- the issue was moreso whether or not they'd do her in the first place. If she's listed, especially as huttslayer leia, it means we're getting the outfit. Side note: The Huttslayer "rebranding" was a pretty clever move on the merchandisers' parts. Good way to stave off the complaints, and also just a sick name. Kind of reminds me of Red Sonja from Conan. This might be the best thing to be posted in this thread. I will need someone to put a standard minifigure torso and head on top of the Jabba base immediately. If it's a crazy color, I'd love the delta-7 or ETA-2. If they go with more conventional jedi/republic colors, I'd like to see a mix. Especially with that $40 price point- if it's that much and an ETA-2 or Delta-7, there better be a pretty darn substantial side build. I think some dark bluish gray or black panel lines could really help to break up the block of reddish brown look while keeping the color scheme accurate.
  4. I don't know if we've had that concretely. There have been a lot of rumors about that set and the dark falcon that I haven't seen confirmed by reliable leakers. People were saying Jedi Bob's starfighter had a 25th anniversary fig and we know now that's not true. That makes sense- these figures should be good for mocs with the white jedi robe, Grand Admiral's uniform, etc. To be fair, you could probably just get another skiff somewhere else rather than buying a $90 USD set for what's probably ~50% of it's build and one of the 6 figs.
  5. Par for the course- I've lost track of the amount of times you guys across the pond get stuff first. That said, I wasn't gonna buy the set, and I'm still riding the high of the US-exclusive Bespin Duel back in 2020, so I don't really care. Phew! If nothing else, the price didn't add up. I can't see a '66 batmobile being able to seat two maxifigs, and a one-seater '66 batmobile feels too inaccurate for a lego D2C.
  6. That would also be a crazy idea, and I love it! The second figure could be a Classic Space trooper or Classic Space vader! I would love it if it was pink- that would be incredible. I think there were rumors it was an updated jedi bob and 25th anniversary 2002 jedi bob, but that's apparently not the case. The phase 1 clone pilot theory sounds like classic MandR angerbaiting- drop the idea of it being something like that in peoples' heads to get his followers riled up when it's not a clone. Fordo would of course be wonderful but is also pretty unlikely. (Also, are people complaining about the fact that there might be one (1) wave without clone sets? After how many we've had over the last 4 years? Sometimes this fanbase really gets on my nerves.) Based double tantive IV hallway purchase, but why 2 Perideas? I thought every figure in that set was a named character? Doesn't the cape cover those this time? While the studs aren't perfect, I view it as a helmet hole situation. Yes, it's not as accurate, but it vastly increases customizability/playability, and that's what's important. This allows people to add shoulder cannons or weapon storage or a jet pack or what have you onto the armor.
  7. Why does Max_Lego have an idiot ball? Is he spherical? That's a genius move on their part. I'm gonna jonkle their jonk by continuing to jonkle. (Ok, reading that out, it was excessive. Even for me.) Holy cow, man. We've explained this to you so many times, what part are you having trouble with? Legitimately, what part of the explanation isn't making sense? Others have covered it well, so the only thing I'll add is that Star Wars isn't getting many more sets this year than it normally does. Man. Bats make me Man.
  8. You're definitely right, it'll be a new mold, if for no other reason than it's been 11 years since the last one. I hope they take the opportunity to change the mold. I feel like the bottom part of the 2013 mold could use brick-built additions, as well as making the tail an existing tail piece. I dunno if I'd want the MBS budget going towards new (and likely exclusive) Bossk and Dengar variants rather than just putting them in sets in the next year or two. Love it when leakers react like this, instead of acting like they're infallible. I'm also very happy that there are so many figs, and desirable ones at that.
  9. It's not the exact same thing, but they're clearly ok with the general premise. (Also, I feel like they 100% would "risk" giving up real info if by "risk" it just meant sending it out to whatever employees were suspected of being moles. It's a better way to catch them then just no longer giving the employees the info or trying to fire/discipline them without real proof) I don't think sending out false info to catch leakers is outside the realm of possibility for them. Again, I don't think it happened here, but I think it's 100% something they could do. So do I. Either a unique color that Lego fans like or there's some lore around (teal, sand red, maybe that new tomato soup color), or if we have to play it a little safer, something referential to old lego star wars color schemes, like black and bright blue. Or- and hear me out- pearl gold starfighter.
  10. I dunno about that. I can't remember the last playscale set I've seen shelfwarm in this theme, exempting the justifier. The walmart near me right now had a couple AT-TEs for $112, but as soon as I bought one they brought the price back to $140, and I'm in a more rural area at the moment. Actually, come to think of it, I don't remember if I ever saw the justifier warm shelves. I know it did- I've seen the sales others have gotten on it- I just don't think I ever saw it myself.
  11. IIRC they worked with a blog to get "leaks" of an uncharted set to LAN members. I believe it was the blog's idea, but when they reached out to lego they were 100% on board. Totally agree. I love the way they store the bloodfin.
  12. While these specific ones were supported by enough reliable leakers to be trustworthy, it's not like lego hasn't done similar things before. It wouldn't have been out of the question.
  13. EXACTLY! We haven't had an ARC-170 in 14 years, and it's a much more prominent clone-wars era vehicle! I don't necessarily disagree, but I still feel that regardless of whether or not it'd be as much as cad bane in a microfighter alongside the $170 justifier or something, putting a highly desirable fig in a microfighter and then releasing a full-sized version of the set shortly after is going to hurt the sales of that full-sized set fairly significantly.
  14. But the biggest draw of both sets would be Rex. Lego knows how much he's worth, and I tell you now, if both are availible, one of those sets is NOT selling. I really don't get why people want Rex's Y-wing so bad. Beforehand I just thought it was because it was guaranteed to come with Rex, but we'll have him in a $13 set. As for the Y-wing itself, I don't get why people wouldn't rather have the standard republic coloration. We see rex's Y-wing, like, twice, and neither time in combat. I don't get why it's requested more than your standard GAR or separatist hardware. I'm not saying it's a horrible choice or something, I just legitimately don't see why it's so requested.
  15. Thanks! I thought the same thing about the figures, but I think it'd be odd to just do another identical segment of hallway. I would have expected something like the area with the escape pod and where Leia records the message, but the figures don't match. That would have been pretty cool too, and a nice way to get a variety of main characters. It would, I hope they are updating the figure. The 2021 one really needed some darker colors, a new helmet, and a chain/hose for the gun.
  16. I agree- While it's one of the funniest things lego could possibly make, it is an odd choice for a flagship set. Jedi Bob's starfighter is fine because it's a standard price point. As I mentioned, I did a mock-up for what the R2-KT set could be going off the figure list (3 stormies, 3 rebels, R2-KT) and 383 piece count, alongside the "celebration" name. I try not to post my mocs here, but this is me trying to actually predict it, so I thought I'd share it (images in the spoiler):
  17. Or with today's marvel prices, one $38 set and one $85 set.
  18. I love Snyder cut waaaaay more than anyone reasonably should. I wasn't even familiar with it beyond "they swapped the director of justice league out which might be why the movie's bad" before the trailer for the Snyder Cut came out, but I've seen it four times. It is, in my opinion, one of the most comic-book comic book movies ever. Movies like The Dark Knight are better films, sure, but I haven't seen a superhero movie embrace the sense of mythos and scale of the comics as much as Snyder Cut. The bigger marvel movies have their moments of awe, but they use so many quips that-while entertaining- I don't feel the same sense of awe as I do in ZSJL. But point being, we still couldn't get a set based off it, as even if it's just two F-bombs and a bit of blood across 4 hours, it's still R- so no black suit superman in the fox.
  19. This is completely accurate I've been working on a prediction set for it and that was one of the first things I did- heads for Albin Johnson, Dave Filoni, George Lucas, and some alternate heads and hair for the rebel troopers. "I don't have much time left" really makes me think this is fake. Lego's not going to Boeing him, the worst case scenario is he's sued for violating an NDA, if he signed one, or a pretty difficult suit on lego's case if he didn't, as it'd be pretty hard to prove revenue loss from the leaks (at least, that's how it works in the US, IDK about other countries). There's also no point to this message- "Please help?" Help how? I'm sure it would be scary to have lego threaten legal action- though while I do feel for the guy, it is what he signed up for- but this doesn't make sense. Why would he post this now, a good while after he went silent? What he is he hoping to accomplish? I think it's much more likely this is some idiot teenager trying to get attention, false sympathy, and/or spook kids. Not to mention, IIRC Renown's talked about some of those leaks, and he's still around.
  20. Totally agree. Got one more for you: Imperial Army Battlepack ($19.99): Andor Combat Speeder with 2x imperial army trooper (with riot shields), 1x stormtrooper, and 1x imperial officer (black uniform) I'd also love some rebel sets. I'll throw some ideas out there, including a good few battle packs since the only figures readily availible are the rebel fleet troopers: Endor Rebel Troopers ($19.99): Stolen imperial speeder bike and a small tree trap with 1x ewok and 3x endor rebel trooper (2x with green trenchcoat prints, 1x with a tan vest print and a faceprint reminiscent of Rex, but he doesn't have printed gauntlets so he can still be used as a normal trooper). Scarif Rebel Troopers ($19.99): Bit of scarif terrain with an orange crate, palm tree, and play feature to launch out from behind some ferns similar to old ninjago sets. Comes with 4x rebel trooper (Melshi, Bastaran, Tonc, and Bistan) Sullust Rebel Troopers ($19.99): Based on Battlefront 2015. Includes an E-web on a small bit of Sullust terrain and a sliding door. Comes with 4x rebel trooper (sullust combat outfits, so the Endor helmets on the orange suits- Namir, Brand, Roach, and Gadren) Full sets: Rebel Snowspeeder ($27.99): Smaller Rebel Snowspeeder with Wedge Antilles, Wes Janson, and Colonel Derlin. Rebel Landspeeder ($34.99): Rebel Landspeeder (with the large mounted gun like in Battlefront 2017 or Legion) with 1x gonk droid and 4x rebel trooper: 1x rebel officer (tan outfit), 2x rebel soldier (Tatooine outfits with the A-wing pilot type helmets), 1x Ishi Tib jumptrooper. Ion Cannon ($59.99): Ion cannon (with interior control room) with Colonel Derlin, 2x hoth rebel trooper, R-3PO, a Rebel Captain (Micha Evon), and Rebel Comms Officer (Toyan Farr)
  21. You guys get all the other good exclusives. Spider-Man, Helldivers, God of War, even the KOTOR remake (though I think the game has to exist to count). Let us have this one! Agreed. I hope the game'll be great, but it wouldn't mean anything for the theme.
  22. I would unironically prefer about half of these- Young Cassian and Jyn are actually characters I'd enjoy having- Young Jyn was a child soldier for Saw and Young Cassian is more Andor content. That would be really cool of lego. I'd be willing to pay their current prices for a set if I knew that the extra bit was going to the 501st legion or cancer research instead of.... I don't really know. Clearly not quality control. Now that we know all 6, here's my ranking: (in terms of choice only, not execution, since we haven't seen all of them) 501/10: R2-KT: I'm not normally one of those "think of what it MEANS" guys, but that is an insanely good pick from that perspective. A fan created character with a heartwarming backstory. It's also a pretty solid figure choice in-universe- while not a Mara Jade, I remember her from early clone wars, and "pink R2" is a solid enough archtype for a unique but still working-in-universe figure, unlike, say, the holiday figs. 10/10: Cal Kestis- while I'm sad this seems to spell doom for future Jedi sets, Cal is a major canon character and a fan-favorite, so he was an excellent choice. He's also one of, if not the choice for my favorite star wars character, so I may be biased. (It's between him, Luke, and Wedge Antilles) 9/10: Malak- KOTOR representation is essential, and Malak has a good, imposing design that'll attract fans who didn't already know him. I might have preferred Jedi Revan so we could have the main character, but it's also some good dark-side representation since all other figs range from "hero" to "will be a hero in a few years" to "war criminal but for the good guys" 9/10: Saw- another major canon character. He's a little bit lower just because saw is in so much content these days that he could/should have been in a set for Bad Batch/Andor/Rogue One/Rebels/Fallen Order, leaving the slot open, but if they couldn't get him there, it's great to get him here. Not happy about how green he is, but there wasn't really a way around it, and I said I wouldn't rank off execution, just choice. 9/10: Fives- pretty much the exact same reasoning as Saw, I'd put him more or less exactly on par with him. The execution's better, but again, not counting that since we haven't seen some of the other figs yet. 2/10: Young Leia- I didn't mean to make the list just to dunk on this choice, but writing it all out I do legitimately think she's the only subpar choice, and she's REALLY subpar. She's not an interesting design, not remotely a fan-favorite, I really have no idea why they chose her. Some options I would have preferred include: Mara Jade, Starkiller, Joruus C'baoth, Abeloth, the Son/Father/Daughter, Rebel Friend, one of Mara's stormtroopers, Talon Karrde, Fordo, 2003 ARC trooper, 2003 Kit Fisto, 2003 Grievous, Bastila Shan, Dark Side Bastila Shan, Mission Vao, Zaalbar, Jolee Bindo, Canderous Ordo, Darth Traya, Darth Nihilus, Darth Sion, Carth Onasi, Legends Jedi Leia, Jaina Solo, Hazrim Namir, Brand, Roach, Gadren, Everi Chalis, Sana Starros, Dr. Aphra, Black Krrssantan, Triple-0, BT-1, and a lot of other characters we're unlikely to get in standard sets. Overall, unless Cal and R2-KT are really poorly made figs, I think everyone but Young Leia is an excellent choice.
  23. It's not just a deep cut though- aside from maybe an Albin Johnson 501st legion stormtrooper, it's probably the best possible figure to recognize fan impact on the franchise. Totally agree, it's a genius choice when you consider the wider content. That's odd- I wonder what the set is. KT is an incredible choice IMO, but I agree Mara's super necessary. Though at the same time, they really have the ability to chuck her in any imperial set regardless of anniversary, if we're being honest. Edit: Ignore the first part of that, saw your later post. I unironically am having trouble thinking of a worse choice in terms of character variants with that level of screen time. That actually makes a ton of sense, it could be a set recognizing the 501st legion, rebel legion, and R2-D2 builders club. The Albin Johnson stormtrooper idea might be real! Glad to see, I totally agree. Mara would have been nice, but if the set really is a fan legions set, I'd take it over almost anything.
  24. Yes, but they're all tiny parts of a skyline that's also an art set. It's a far cry from a modular building based on a location that's been a sticker on one set and isn't actually part of the batman canon. I believe it is indeed a D2C. It's always possible it'll be some sort of modular, but the most likely scenario is that it's a buildible bat-vehicle. I'll take my chances, we all know it'll be the tower of fate. These were almost all side builds in sets with the main build being something else, not to mention that they've gotten substantially smaller over the years and then disappeared entirely after 2017. Besides, there are plenty of actually relevant locations like Arkham that we can, should, and would get before generic buildings. If you want some generic banks/stores/etc, just buy city modulars! I'm trying to be realistic but not cynical. Worst case scenario it's some sort of poorly-constructed buildable object with no figures, and best case scenario it's something from the wider DC universe.
