  1. I can't tell what you're saying here, are you saying most of the iconic scenes are dialogue? Because I'm not sure I've ever heard someone praise TPM's dialogue before. Are you saying most of the iconic scenes don't have dialogue for the quote? If so, I would say the podrace qoute isn't really a super iconic line either. But either way, duel of the fates, right? Probably the one part of TPM most people agree is pretty good, and it has minifigures (which I do think is a factor here, to be honest. People like minifigs).
  2. You know the answer to this I don't mind keeping some discussion, nor do I mind the aslume jokes so long as we're also talking about something relevant alongside it, but yeah, it does sort of feel like we're now just randomly going "What about this, could this be a set?" or asking if the theme is dead (not yet, but on the way out if nothing changes) Not just the superfriends... you ever hear what other heroes they were gonna make a play to include? I don't think they ever got any sort of agreement, but the goal would be the first time it happened in movie history. It would make secret wars look like a solo movie.
  3. I don't get it either, but at least online there seems to be a lot of demand for TPM stuff. I suppose we'll see if the keyboard demand translates into actual sales, but I'm not sure. I also worry that if this doesn't do well, lego's going to off the diorama theme. There are so many good dioramas for them to do, they just made an odd choice. Even if the goal is working in TPM, I don't know why they think this would do better than a Duel of the Fates diorama.
  4. Podrace looks solid- a good representation of the scene, just not a scene I personally would want to display. (Right now I've got a tatooine homestead MOC in the style, then the dagobah diorama, then the throne room. Beginning-middle-end) Droidika... I'm gonna need to see some more angles. If it can transform into a ball, awesome. If not, I dunno about it. Definite no on the minifig-scaled one though, it feels like it's different for the sake of being different, and comes off looking goofy.
  5. I doubt it. None of the sets based on newer content have had 25th anniversary stuff. And the fact that the leakers all call it Jedi Bob's starfighter does imply pretty heavily that it's named that- it's not like they'd see some random hooded jedi in the prelim and default to "it's jedi bob!" The Acolyte trailer has me very cautiously optimistic. From what they show of the hopefully main character, the long-haired guy, he seems awesome. And it is nice to see lightsabers and jedi again out in force. But still a few things that worry me- the "it's not about good and bad, it's about who's in power" line better not be part of some attempt to make the dark side sympathetic- the jedi order wasn't perfect, but the sith are supposed to be the ultimate evil. And that last scene kinda tells us that every single jedi present is dying or there'll be a big canon error. That said, regardless of show quality, we didn't get a good look at much set material. The crashing ship is the only thing I can think of that they'd do.
  6. Lego Godzilla and Kong when? (Side note, what is even going on with those films, the marvelization of that franchise is hilarious. And it's clearly capable of greatness- look at Minus One. But these new movies that lack the quality of minus one or the unabashed goofiness of the earlier sequels just don't do it for me.)
  7. Looks like the work is paying off, man. Nice job! I'm really impressed that you've managed to scale it down to the smaller model used in that part of the movie.
  8. And even then, The Batman's additional set was Technic, so it's not quite the same thing. Otherwise, it's just Wakanda Forever and Eternals, and both set lines bombed HARD. Like, I was finding them in stores at 40% discounts hard. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to grab lego Shuri's Sunbird at Ollie's level hard. At least four off the top of my head- the small flying dude with evil superman #14, the bigger dude with not iron fist, the dorito ship, and Toa Tahu. But if anything, that works against it. Wakanda forever sets bombed hard, even if the film itself did fine financially. Eternals bombed to a discount level I've never seen before. So essentially unless lego expects this movie to do avengers-level numbers- and we all know it won't- we aren't seeing more than three sets. CMF molds are always kind of finicky as to whether or not they cross over into being new system molds, and licensed molds can also be finicky as to whether or not they can cross themes. The energy blasts likely aren't specific enough to be locked to DND, but I wouldn't be surprised if the dragon and wings were.
  9. We really are becoming the Aslume. The BTAS Batmobile, right? I'd imagine it's just gonna look like that.
  10. *proceeds to gamble a child's freedom on space nascar* I feel like the podracer qoute HAS to be "Now, THIS is podracing!", right? Renown normally communicates hints via qoutes (which is why I'm not sure he's talking about the TPM diorama qoute), and his information is normally stuff that hasn't been leaked by others yet. Given how slow it's been recently, it's possible he's just hinting at upcoming dates or the qoute, but I also think it's possible there's another TPM set coming.
  11. The sanctum wasn't just a doctor strange set, it was an MCU set, before the effects of the MCU's quality drop were felt by lego. It was even partially based off infinity war, one of the biggest movies of all time. It's not really comparable to if they did a Daily Planet set for Superman 2025. And even then, the Sanctum and Batcave are both allegedly retiring before the Bugle, despite releasing long after it, indicating neither sold nearly as well. This movie is a test to see if superman retains the cultural power he used to have. The superman name might still carry enough weight for lego to do a few sets for the movie, but they won't do a modular unless this movie does avengers-level numbers.
  12. Given the batman was delayed, we've got a potential for a few sets. Maybe something like (The set builds are going off three things- the cast list, the assumption that some form of the justice league will exist since there's like 6 heroes confirmed, and my assumption that Lex won't be in an openly villainous role yet.) Option 1: The Batman level coverage: Superman Returns ($17.99): ATM and a bank wall with a function to launch the atm off the wall as if it's been blasted off. Includes 2 bank robbers with Engineer tech (re-used parts), and Superman (new torso and face prints-consistant across all three sets) Daily Planet attack ($37.99): Daily bugle office build with exploding wall function, as well as a quick-change function for superman. Comes with Superman, Lois Lane, Clark Kent, and The Engineer. The Javelin ($84.99): Javelin jet with Superman, Mr. Terrific, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and The Engineer. Option 2: limited coverage: Superman vs the Engineer ($17.99): Superman, the engineer, some rubble, and some sort of mech or technological extension for the engineer. Javelin attack ($37.99): Small Javelin with Superman, Mr. Terrific, Guy Gardner, and the engineer. Option 3: Loose tie-in: Superman Vs Lex Luthor Mech ($37.99): Lex Luthor mech, roughly the size of a construction figure. Comes with Superman (new head and torso prints), Lex Luthor (new torso print), Lois Lane (Completely re-used prints) Right now I do think we'll get SOMETHING, but I suppose it's also always possible we don't get a single set. Yup! I can understand preferring prints to stickers-and I do-, but stickers are better than nothing, and did anyone really think we'd get 67 more new prints in that set?
  13. Love it! A great update to the 08 set that has a very intimidating new look. Almost feels like something from Warhammer to me.
  14. I kid you not I thought they were the same vehicle, but you're right, both justice league ones have a Howitzer strapped to the car. I could easily see 2026 giving us a "premium" Pattmobile alongside a couple other "the batman" sets. Unfortunately Arkham Knight is TV-MA, and the line for lego seems to be more of the specific rating than more subjective maturity standards. Sad for cases like this, good for cases like Dune. I feel like this is do-able, albeit with a pretty small/simple Batpod. I had a ninjago set as a kid with a similar premise- it was a car for Kai that could launch the driver's seat off as a motorcycle.
  15. I dunno. Last time they did SS harley quinn they had to put her in a giant set from an unrelated film. That said, my want for it to contain some of the DCEU league might be clouding my judgement. We all know if we did get it, it'd include BvS batman and SS Jonkler. You're crazy. The Josstice League one looks like a World of Warcraft character. Snyderwolf is at least unique (and had some attempt at a bit of character besides "big bad", which was nice.)
  16. They cancelled the only The Flash set they were going to make and retooled it into a Burton set. No, we are not seeing any sets based on The Flash. I feel like this is a possibility, if we're continuing from getting the 66 Batmobile, TDK tumbler, Burtonmobile, and BTAS mobile in the past 5 years. I wouldn't say we have a high chance of it, just due to how controversial the DCEU has been, but maybe. If we do get it, it'd be based on either BvS or the Josstice league cut though, which is unfortunate. A DCEU Batmobile with Black Suit Supeman and a proper steppenwolf would have been awesome.
  17. Filming in Chicago will be stalled when Bane briefly takes over the city and destroys a football stadium. No. Not anything live-action or anything that would get sets. There are a few direct-to-dvd/streaming movies coming but those have never gotten sets. I appreciate the enthusiasm but there's a difference between enthusiasm and clickbait.
  18. They can't stop the jonkling so long as the posts contain actual info as well and aren't just pure s***posting. I avoided saying Man and Jonkler to not upset another forum member as much, but based on his response he seems to be able to tolerate it so long as he can point out how stupid it is. (Which, I'm not being sarcastic here, it is legitimately dumb. I still think it's funny, though.) I 100% respect this- I fully agree that it's childish That would be incredibly stupid, though I also feel like passing over a batman character because she's not outwardly feminine enough in-costume to count as a female character would be hilariously on-brand for "big company inclusivity push". Missing the forest for the trees or what have you. Though I think/hope your latter answer is right and it's just lego overestimating Catwoman's popularity. There is now the incredible potential for 2025 to be the first year in which other DC heroes get more sets than Batman. Completely agree on both counts. That's close to getting me to buy the custom helmet, to be honest, it looks so much better.
  19. Well for one thing, we did get him in the Bugle. So while he's definitely not as easy to get as other heroes, lego is still comfortable making him. But I think the reason is he is pretty heavily associated with a high maturity rating. I would say most people right now who've heard of him know him from the netflix series. Even in the comics his most famous stuff is Miller's work, which is incredibly gritty and violent. Now he's not the only character to have consistently gritty stuff, but I would say it's an overwhelming enough portion of his popularity that lego doesn't want to put him in standard sets in general. But if he were to show up in a cartoon we were getting sets for, or a PG-13 MCU movie, I don't think they'd have a problem putting him in a set for that. No, no. He prefers the Shadow Box over the Skyline, but the Skyline has Conroy and Hamill's "batman" and "joker", similar to their popular Aslume characters in the Ham franchise. Any Aslume inmate would prefer the skyline. (Though honestly neither do it for me. Both are focused on capturing adults who wouldn't normally buy legos. Star Wars has done MBS sets before, and they're both meant for adults and highly successful. The lego group doesn't seem to get it, but the superhero franchise, which is a lot more focused on the characters merch wise than Star Wars, would lend itself even better to MBS sets.) It's such a weird decision. Assumably she was there over, say, Robin because they wanted a 50/50 male/female ratio, but, like, Phantasm. The character BTAS created, the headliner of the first BTAS film. Or batgirl, who's also a pretty big part of it. We even know Phantasm WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE originally. Did they get responses in the survey saying "we don't like Phantasm, we'd rather have another catwoman?" Who? Who's responding to them saying that?
  20. Yes, the movie is rated R for violence and language. (And brief sexual imagery). So yeah, sure, those are the "only" reasons for it to be R-rated, but, like, you can say that about almost any movie. "if you scale down the violence and remove the language and sex, it's R" works for most R-rated movies. Snyder cut was a couple F-bombs and some blood away from PG-13. But it's still R, so it still won't get sets. I talk about what 18+ sets are and how it's not accurate to say they don't need to be kid appropriate below, but as for TDK: TDK is PG-13. Joker is R. That is the difference. The content isn't so much what matters- I'd say movies like TDK and Dune are pretty much exactly on par with something like Zack Snyder's Justice League maturity wise. Eternals had a bit of a sex scene, GOTG 3 dropped the f bomb, etc. But they're PG-13, so they can still get sets. It's the rating, that's the line lego will not cross. And Joker is R, so it won't get sets. I'm not saying this is the best way to do it (though in terms of avoiding parental backlash, I think it is), but regardless of what we think about it, it's clearly how lego does things. All lego still has to be appropriate for kids. The 18+ line isn't for things only adults should build/see, it's just a marketing thing. They can't make sets based off R-rated material even if it's an 18+ set. I don't think so. DC's generally pretty good about keeping their characters in a wide variety of stuff- Harley Quinn's in a good number of R/MA projects, but she's still popular enough in general to get figures. Darkseid's a big bad, so one R-rated film won't stop him. Polka Dot Man's more obscure, but you also have to think about parents. I doubt enough know him to be concerned that the character was in a DC set, and since he's not exclusive to mature material, it should be fine. Unlike, say, deadpool, who's in a lot of stuff but almost exclusively known for being crass and violent.
  21. So two things here: 1. we are not getting joker two sets. Nor do I think it would be a good idea to do so. I think the joker movie was excellent, and hope the second will be as well, but they are pretty heavily R-rated, and VERY mature. Lego does not do sets for R-rated films. Hard stop. There's no "maybe", they don't. And if they do ever break that rule, it'd be for something like deadpool- a big spectacle movie, not a grounded tragedy with no powers or superheroes. 2. This idea that marvel and DC sets can't coexist is completely false. They HAVE. For the entirety of lego DC's heyday, Marvel also got a substantial number of sets. It's not either-or. All the downfall of the marvel theme would do is hurt the superhero theme in general. If marvel goes down to 5 sets a year, it doesn't mean DC gets more sets. It just means there's less superheroes on shelves. Forgot about that- I think you're right, a printed head would work best with the black panther ears thrown on. Not that I want one of our exceedingly rare new fig slots used up on another Kravitz catwoman.
  22. @NovaBricks and @psqidexslizer you guys are talking about the same part. Personally I'd go with the mold they used for White Tiger I actually think the oldest catwoman cowl mold would work for her catwoman. Are we talking about her mask that essentially looked like a ski mask with cat ears? (I'm not knocking it, it makes sense for a universe like this)
  23. I feel like the cowl could work as something like the captain america cowl with ears added on. The cape could probably just work as the thin cape The Mandalorian uses. You're right, I forgot the new cowl- I was thinking of the rubber one. Still, we've been stuck to getting very few new molds, and the ones we do get are introduced in D2Cs, if I remember correctly the last mold besides the cowls in a system set was Wonder Woman's helmet/hair from the 2020 WW84 set.
  24. Lego is not aware of this lol Yup, until last year or so those were the only misprints I ever saw. I'd run into one every couple years, and they were pretty good about sending new ones so long as the set was still in production. The 501st trooper (This is the 2020 version yes?) seems to have been prone to misprints for whatever reason. Did you have the classic "print is too low and he looks sad" misprint? That's the most common one I've seen, including one in my own collection. I've got a guy I sold my misprints to (I've had some weird luck with misprints, and whenever I find misprinted or no-printing parts I tend to pick a few up. I have some unprinted Poe helmets and something like 20 unprinted Endor Rebel helmets), but IIRC he wasn't interested in the 501st helmet due to how frequent it was.
