  1. This looks incredible! Seriously menacing, and immediately visible as Megatron. I'm currently working on a transforming one (tank, not gun, as it'd be a good bit larger than your average Walther P38), and I gotta say, yours looks much more accurate in robot mode than mine does! Ours are actually pretty similar around the neck/shoulders which is cool, and we both defaulted to Optimus's feet! That face is particularly good, it looks really animated without having to use any prints.
  2. While the clone complaints are annoying and very nitpicky, it's important to note there's a reason that star wars gets more printing and molds. It sells significantly better. That set definitely isn't the leaked part count and price, so I assume the figures won't be very accurate to that image either.
  3. He's not lying, he's method acting. He's become the Jonkler Ok but actually, just so everyone's clear, this is fundamentally and completely untrue. Indiana Jones- I guess this one is theoretically possible, but tie-in sets almost ALWAYS come out before the movie. The set numbers rumored for the theme turned out to not have been accurate. While the movie doing well doesn't help the chances of getting any future sets, there is absolutely NO evidence that Indy 5 sets were planned. LOTR: There is, again, ZERO evidence of sets planned for the spinoff show. Also, we've a couple brickheadz and one fig-scaled set for the theme, with one more planned, and both are huge D2Cs. There have not been ANY standard system sets for the actual mainline films since the reboot, so even if the show WAS successful, it's highly unlikely it'd have gotten sets. Lastly, and most egregiously, the dark knight trilogy is "too dark" for TLG? We've had UCS-styled D2C sets, standard system sets, THERE'S ANOTHER SET FOR THE TRILOGY COMING OUT THIS SUMMER? Look man. As I've said a thousand times, we all appreciate the enthusiasm for batman. But now you're just saying things that are provably untrue.
  4. I generally agree, but the only official images of S3 we have (to my knowledge) see to be of the episode about giant mecha. But of course, since they're mecha that would look awesome as lego sets, lego's going to skip out on them to do the S2 version of the hydra buster.
  5. I was wrong, character actor Alfred Molina is clearly already here and posting. Ironically, Seinfeld himself is a massive superman fan (or maybe that's part of the joke and I'm not deep enough into the aslume).
  6. The marvel thread might not have the same extent of jokes, but it absolutely has it's share of random off-topic discussion. And if it's between this and the star wars thread, I'll take jokes over rants about how lego is "disrespecting" clone troopers any day of the week. Though to be fair, there's a lot of wishlisting here, and the sets aren't discussed as much because there's so few of them and only so much you can say. It's kind of fun- it's something to keep the discussion alive besides "wouldn't it be cool if we actually got sets?" We should get character actor Alfred Molina on the forum.
  7. This would not stop the complaints. People won't let go of the helmet holes or the commander being in the gunship instead of the pilot. You think they'll let go of the figures disappearing entirely? It is a really smart usage. That entire set is pretty impressive on a technical level. I'm not a droidika superfan and my only statue/droid right now is BD-1, but I'm heavily considering the droidika. If the set's minifig-scale I think it should come with it's crew, but I otherwise agree. Now I'm not saying they shouldn't put minifigs in these- more lego is good, and I doubt the figures being removed would cause a significant price reduction on these two figure $240 sets. But for the people who are going to be seriously disappointed if the UCS TIE Interceptor's figure isn't what they're hoping for- buy playscale sets.
  8. I have no idea how we haven't had the rebel capital ships yet. As a kid I always wanted one to go against my star destroyer. I know they aren't the most iconic vehicles, but they aren't super obscure. I came up with some years ago- I want to say 2020. I agree it's a great idea. Here are my suggestions- refined a little: Rebel Alliance Starter Pack ($79.99): Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Wedge Antilles, 1x rebel crew, 3x rebel fleet trooper. Builds are a T-47 airspeeder, P-tower, an A-wing, and a small rebel command center with crew cart. Galactic Empire Starter Pack ($79.99): Lord Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Grand Admiral Thrawn, AT-ST pilot, TIE Pilot, 3x stormtrooper (one with a black pauldron). Builds are an AT-ST, imperial V-wing, death star cannon, E-web, and armory with a small throne for palpatine. Galactic Republic Starter Pack ($79.99): Anakin Skywaker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano (Anakin and Obi-wan in clone wars armor, Ahsoka in S3-5 outfit), Clone pilot, Clone gunner, and 3x clone troopers (all white armor with black set of antenna, visors, and pauldron). Builds are an AT-RT, Z-95 headhunter, AV-7 cannon, and a bunker/barricade with a holotable. Separatist Alliance Starter Pack ($79.99): Count Dooku, General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, 2x b1 pilot, 2x b2 battle droid, 4x b1 battle droid. Builds are a vulture droid, AAT, proton cannon, crab droid, and 2x droidika.
  9. To be fair, the figures are never the point of a UCS set. If you're paying $240 for a tie pilot, the issue isn't that it's a tie pilot and not also an officer or something, it's that you're paying $240 for two minifigures. That said, I think it would be a good idea for them to drop a second figure in- it's a perfect opportunity for a semi-obscure named officer.
  10. I'm gonna be honest, I think Turtle is just doing what you're doing, but he's method acting so it's every post. In seriousness, Joker 2 trailer looks great- I wasn't sold on the idea of a sequel but this seems fun and also a nice change from the "joker commits domestic violence/ Harley Quinn always ends up being an antihero and batman forgives her genocides" thing that's been happening in almost every HQ appearance. read this in the movie trailer voiceover voice.
  11. I don't have time to find them at the moment, but I believe there are near-identical torsos that don't have the rank insignia in case the hair doesn't cover it. Try black-suited Catwomens or maybe some of the newer black widows.
  12. EXACTLY! Kids like clones, and have over the past 5 years had the ability to army-build an INSANE amount of clone troopers, but it's not like they don't like stormtroopers, or rebels, or want droids for the clones to face. Let's let other factions have a turn now. Ideally, we get, say, 3 battle packs a year. 2 $20 standard BPs, and one $30-40 "super" BP. I would prefer if only one of the three was mainly clones. I agree. I don't know as much about LifeBricks beyond the fact that he was buying absurd quantities of the $30 clone pack before it even officially released, but I do know MandR. They clearly care about the toys and I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to voice their opinions. But it's also completely fair to say that (I'm gonna use MandR since I've heard more of his stuff) MandR is a bad influence on a lot of younger fans by overexaggerating and complaining constantly about every little thing. That's not to say you can't have criticism. Jangbricks does an excellent job criticizing lego while staying measured. But people like MandR act as if they're trying to rally up a rebellion of their own, not review toys.
  13. Yes, but if they were testing the logic, wouldn't they start with a smaller set or two and see how it went before doing a massive $300 art set? Spoken like a true Aslume inmate. Speaking of that, don't click if you don't want minor spoilers for any content from ANYTHING released in the past month, but
  14. They're testing how people react to BTAS sets with a $300 set? What? If anything, a BTAS Batmobile would be safer than the skyline.
  15. I think it'll be a good bit smaller. I don't have the beetle, but it looks like it's about the same size as Prime. Bumblebee, especially G1blebee, should be significantly smaller. Putting that aside, Bumblebee is $90 in 2024, the beetle was $100 in 2016 ($130 today off inflation alone), and bumblebee'll be much denser than the beetle due to transforming. The new name gives me a lot more hope than I have any right to expect. Buy Bumblebee, guys! I'm re-doing my list of the expected characters for the next 5 autobots and decepticons: Decepticons: Megatron (cybertronian tank), Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave, then either Dirge or Galvatron Autobots: Grimlock, Arcee, Ratchet, Wheeljack, and then either Elita-1, Prowl, or Sideswipe.
  16. Ideally, though we have had good numbers of new prints in battle packs before. They can also mix and match torsos/heads/legs with each other if they're cheaping out a bit. While I agree that a night trooper BP is very needed (though maybe moreso because we're getting Perida and Thrawn and Enoch need some troops to command), I think this is another scenario where it's important to remember kids are still the primary demo for system sets, and the last time stormtroopers were army-buildible was 2019. No reason we can't get two imperial battlepacks in the same year or so, seeing as the past 4 years were near-solely dedicated to clones.
  17. I agree, I was just making clear to the guy that it was something you were hoping would happen and not something you had info on. People saying "boy I hope we get this" on eurobricks has a tendency to turn into people on instagram claiming the set leaked. Lego used to be pretty good about making generic characters based on actual extras, but it's not exactly something they do anymore. I guess in terms of named characters I'd put my money on Sloane being re-used for the set. But the only thing I'm hoping for in terms of named officers is Tarkin.
  18. You're gonna feel like an idiot when Adam West pulls out the anti gorrila spray. You think shark repellent's the only thing in his belt? Sure, but it's not like we've never had 60s batman content before. There was the excellent 60s batcave that ACTUALLY HAD most of the stuff you mention, and then the more recent 60s batmobile that actually included joker and not just batman. I'm not saying this set will do worse than the shadow box, but I don't think it'll do nearly as well as the Pattmobile, the BTASmobile, etc.
  19. I'm surprised by the fact that it's not terrible. This is a very normal choice, and while the lack of a second figure isn't great I'm kind of surprised there are any figures. The general sentiment of "some sets are meant for adults" is correct, but the shadow box did not do well. People generally speaking didn't like it, and as a result, it's retiring really early for a set of it's price point. Also, and this is super minor, but someone who watched the 66' show as a kid as it aired would be, at the youngest, around 66 years old themselves. Still will work for those who saw reruns, but the nostalgia factor of stuff from the 60s is going to stop working for lego pretty soon- if it hasn't already.
  20. I think he's just got poor phrasing there and is trying to say he HOPES it'll be a set next year- as far as I know there haven't been any 2025 rumors yet, and this would be insanely early.
  21. I would seriously hope plastic pauldrons appear before, say, capes for the jedi and sith. Like you say, they could be a legitimate improvement. (Honestly, the pauldrons always made more sense as plastic- they seem plasticy in real life, don't they? And they certainly seem harder and less malleable than, say, jedi robes) Good changes for the most part. Obviously anything going down (sarlacc pit, C-3PO) is good. Perida to $55 is understandable considering sets like the tantive hallway are up to $55 now. Skeleton crew to $140 is certainly a choice, but does also kind of make sense considering how long the set originally set to $130 has been waiting to actually enter production. Dark Falcon to $180 is the only one that I'm all that upset about. Percentage wise it's fine- it makes sense if it's the same size as the 2019 falcon- but it makes me sad that the highest non-D2C Star Wars set price has hopped up another $10, and that the falcon is that much more inaccessible.
  22. I'm not saying they're making some sort of immediate play, I'm saying this is further evidence that they're planning on phasing them out. We went from it only being for the exclusive and rubbery-in-real-life keaton mold to the dr strange cape and now non-keaton Batman and Thor are both getting them allegedly. I don't think we'll never see fabric again after 2025 or something, but I am saying between the expanding rubber capes and the removal of kamas, I believe there's pretty sufficent evidence that lego's been trying to at the very least significantly reduce the number of fabric elements.
  23. I wholeheartedly believe lego is trying to phase out fabric elements. This is how it starts. This isn't a joke, I legitimately believe they have been/are now testing the waters to see if they can do it. what kind of sick jonk is this? now that's a meme I haven't heard in a long time. since a few months after NWH A very long time.
  24. Same. Honestly even with the horrifying eyes, I think it looks hilarious and is 100% something I could see people putting on their desks. I think they shot themselves in the foot adding all the weird minion outfits though- if the set had just been gru, for like $35-40, I think it would do really well. I know I'd have gotten one!
  25. Honestly it's so bad that I kind of like it. If the set was gru and 1-2 minions in normal outfits, I probably would have gotten it. They've done this before- a number of the january 2017 sets were released in march in the US, for example. It's annoying. Interested to see the price changes, though. Sometimes they don't even say they do it, too. The AT-TE was impossible to find for the first month or so in a lot of the US- it wasn't that it was selling out, a lot of retailers just weren't receiving the set.
