When exactly are those sets supposed to come out? This year? Or next year?

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
In that case... Which were Monkey Kid's actual set numbers? -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
So that mean Monkey Kid got cancelled, and now we are getting LEGO Mario instead? -
Ok, I think LEGO Licensed themes are getting ridiculously out of control. First we got Trolls, then Minions, and now THIS?! I am sorry Mario Fans, but I can't say I'm happy with this news. If they are going to make this, they should at least get rid of some of their other licensed themes such as Minecraft, which I doubt they will actually do.

@LEGO Train 12 Volts Thanks! I currently working on a Updated version of this MOC, so stay tuned for that!

Although over time those early 2000's animated movies got some massive cult followings, most of them performed poorly during their initial release. That's the reason why Disney almost never even mentions those movies.
-
So that means the theme will keep going on forever, regardless of how well it sells?
-
Hmmm, I don't know for sure. As far as I know, the "evergreen theme" term wasn't used at the time Bionicle G1 was around. Out of curiosity, was the term "evergreen theme" oficially used by LEGO, or is it just a fan-made term?

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Any idea when we could set names or leaked pictures? There have been two leaked figures already, and I am surprised that there hasn't been more. -

Any updates on Monkey Kid? It's been quite a while since any new information about it came out... -

The 2015 Pirates wave as a whole was basically just a re-hash of the 2009 wave. If you compare the sets side by side, you'll see that they are almost exactly the same with only a few differences. I really hope they've learned from this mistake and won't repeat it again next time they release a line of Pirates sets.

I highly doubt that is true, to be honest. LEGO keeps it around for now because it's still popular and it's currently still making money. As soon as the line will no longer be profitable, they will just end it mercylessly. LEGO has a pretty bad reputation when it comes it comes to cancelling their original themes, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened someday to Ninjago, despite it's supposed "evergreen" status. Not to mention, there have been themes with the status of evergreen that still got cancelled (such as Castle).

Recently, writer and author Greg Farshtey said that, if the community wants it, he would be willing to allow Bionicle G1 Canonization Contests to return. During Bioncile G1's run, a lot of such contests were being hosted, and if the community wants so, they could be returning soon. Here is a link to the TTV Message Boards, where you can vote: http://board.ttvchannel.com/t/poll-bionicle-g1-canonization-contests/51213?u=eljay What are your thoughts? Would like to see those canonization contests return?

Could New Chairman Signal New Direction?
Lego David replied to leafan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What exactly is this Chairman position? -
It could be that, but as far we know from this year's report, it seems like Ninjago's Hay Day is over. While they may not necessarily cancel the theme yet, I can see them investing less into it now that it's no longer a top selling theme.
-
Yeah, me too. Though I highly doubt they'll be able to come up with a good replacement for it.

The LEGO Group confirmed in the 2019 financial report that Hidden Side performed well. "We are also satisfied with the performance of our IP sets and our new theme LEGO Hidden Side which seamlessly blends building and augmented reality.” (Quote from the LEGO Group 2019 financial report) There's been rumors going around that the Hidden Side sets are failing, but it seems like those rumors weren't true.
-
The LEGO Group 2019 financial report just came out, and Ninjago wasn't in the top selling themes, neither given an honorable mention for performing well. Not a good sign. Maybe the theme is soon going to end, who knows...

Take this with a HUGE grain of salt
Lego David replied to Frozen Assasin's topic in LEGO Action Figures
So yeah, I think at this point it's safe to say that the post that started this topic was fake. I don't know who made it up or why, but it was clearly fake. Leaf is already confirmed to be a system theme under the name of "Monkey Kid". And with that... there goes the last hope Constraction had. -
Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Lego David replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Why exactly does this line of CMFs cost 5$ per pack? Unlike the DC one, it isn't licensed. So what exactly is driving the price up?
