As a Constraction MOCer myself, I would be willing to help you with some MOCs if you want my help. But I'm curious, is there any actual way to pitch ideas for new product lines to LEGO?
-
Sounds like a pretty interesting concept to me! CCBS/Constraction has always worked best with Robots, and I feel like LEGO took it into a bad direction when they made the Star Wars human characters (they just didn't look right, and nobody wanted them). If they are interested in bringing back Constraction, they should focus on robots/cyborg characters instead of human characters. Because that's how Constraction started, and that's what it does best. There are so many concepts they could explore (all the amazing MOCs of the community have shown that), but it seems like after a certain point, they didn't know what to do with it anymore and just cancelled it. They really should have thought twice before ending it.

[MOC] LEGO Universe 10th Anniversary Tribute
Lego David replied to Exetrius's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is really nice! Though I am not very familiar with the LEGO Universe game, I still am aware of the massive cult following it got and that it definitely deserves a tribute like this. Unfortunately though, the game was a failure at the time of it's release and (correct me if I'm wrong) it got shut down very early in 2012. So considering that, I am not exactly sure if LEGO would approve this set, but it's still worth a try. You have my support, good look with gathering the other supporters!- 9 replies

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Lego David replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think Ratatouille and Legend of Bionicle also have a fairly good chance of getting approved. Ratatouille is Disney, so of course the licensing would be super easy. And Bionicle is an original LEGO theme, so they wouldn't have to license anything. -
With the release of the Pirates of Baracuda Bay set and the Medieval Blacksmith on the way, I was thinking... If those Ideas sets end up being very successful, could they result in LEGO bringing back the themes those sets are based on? From what I've seen, a lot of people are willing to go as far as buying multiple copies of those very expensive sets in hopes that LEGO would notice the good sales. So, from a realistic perspective, could the success of those sets result in LEGO bringing back those lines? There have been some successful Ideas sets that resulted in LEGO making a whole product line (Minecraft comes to mind) or sets that resulted in LEGO making additional sets based on their IP (such as Back to the Future and Ghostbusters) so I personally think that it's quite possible. What do you think? Could the success of those Ideas sets result in LEGO making more sets based off them, or LEGO isn't interested in making more sets either way?

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Any updates on the theme? If it's indeed supposed to release in May, shouldn't we have gotten more info about it by now? -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I don't think that's really the case. LEGO has said that they won't make any regional exclusive sets ever again, and the ones they did so far have been one or two sets at most... not an entire wave of sets. Giving a 8 sets wave a limited release would be a very foolish move by LEGO. After the Corona Virus crisis is over, I think Monkey Kid will most likely have a normal worldwide release. -

The modern outfit pretty much confirms that this will indeed be a Sci-Fi theme. I wonder how they are going to handle this whole theme. The previous leaked figures looked pretty fantasy-ish, but this one has a completely different aesthetic. Maybe it's going to be a spiritual successor to Exo-Force with a few fantasy bits, who knows... As for the Monkey Kid not looking like a monkey, I think it's going to be either a kid who has animal friends, or as others have suggested, maybe he can shape-shift like Akita from Ninjago. -
In 2001 and 2002, LEGO re-released some of their most iconic sets (such as Black Seas Baracuda, Fort Legoredo, etc) under the LEGENDS line. But due to their limited release and the financial problems LEGO was facing at the time, the line flopped. So I was wondering, if re-done today, could another LEGENDS line work? Online shopping has grown a lot since the early 2000's (almost to the point where it will soon replace physical shopping) and so has the number of AFOLs willing to buy those sets if they were re-released. Not to mention, a lot of other iconic sets that would be good candidates for a re-release have come out since the original LEGENDS line. Those re-releases don't necessarily have to be exact copies of the original sets, they could also just be revamps of the original sets with updated pieces and minifigures, similar to the recent Ninjago Legacy wave. So what do you think? If done again today, could another LEGENDS-type line be successful?

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Lego David replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I assume it will most likely appear in the Castle set if that is the case. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Journey to the West was all about the characters fighting all sorts of demons while travelling, so I suppose that demons will be this line's main villains. -
I'm pretty sure that back villain is from Ninjago. It's not an animal that would fit in Monkey Kid, and it doesn't seem like a ghost that would fit in Hidden Side either.

Well, that pig head is surprisingly similar to those custom CMFs, isn't it? -
[MOC] Orient Expedition - Himalayan temple
Lego David replied to Peter1999's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is amazing! I would love to have this as an official set! I think i am gonna go to LEGO Ideas and support it right now. -
Regarding the debate from earlier, I think the Corona Virus outbreak will be the nail in this theme's coffin. Not only is LEGO taking a huge risk with this theme, but there is also this Corona crisis that would very likely slow down the sales a lot. So even if kids will like it, the theme still has more chances of failure than success.

I don't know if that's a really good idea. Those themes need to be their own thing, and not depened on Ninjago. Hidden Side still became it's own theme, despite being quite similar to the Ninjago Ghost Wave. I don't want Ninjago to become the only action adevnture theme in exitence while everyhting else that gets released is licensed. I would much rather have them dedicate new themes to their ideas ideas of dumping all their ideas into Ninjago.

Where exactly is this leaked pig head? It doesn't appear on #legoleaks on Instagram. -
The Goblin looks like something straight out of Nexo Knights in my opinion. I don't know if it really fits the Ninjago aesthetic. Also, the ghost looks like one of the worst figures in recent years. Absolutely no printing and a very basic face.

When Should Ninjago End?
Lego David replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think the TV Show is the main thing what keeps the series going. Without the TV Show, Ninjago would have ended way back in 2013... But because of the show's insane popularity, the theme continued, and it still continues to this day. If let's say, they decided to end the Show, but continued making sets, I bet the sales would decline drastically. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
So, now that we know the theme will have 9 sets in total.... Will Monkey Kid still be a Big Bang theme or will it be just a casual original theme like Hidden Side? -
So that means the theme will be just a Ninjago rip-off but with Journey to the West characters?

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Lego David replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Is this guy who shared those set names reliable? Those set names sound a bit too much like Ninjago to me, and they could have very easily just been made up. Storm Fighter? Thunder Raider? Those are names taken directly from Ninjago.
