  1. TC19 Wingblade R Features: Front and rear suspension. Hub center steering. Gear based steering system. Flat four fake engine (no gears though). Shaft driven rear wheel. 2 kickstands either side.
  2. Thanks @ralphie! The steering wheel is an unusual but cool solution. Thanks @HorcikDesigns! I nearly threw in the towel on many occasions, but i'm glad i made the effort to finish it in the end, (although it didn't turn out like i wanted it to). Thanks @Mechbuilds! I ended up going with a different steering system in the end. It's still a bit unusual though. Finally finished: It's changed quite a lot since the first initial pics, and i feel i may have bitten off more than i can chew really. Still i'm glad it's now completed, though in terms of features, it doesn't really have many. It has working front and back suspension, (the front holds it's steering angle when compressed). A flat 4 fake engine, driving a shaft connected to the rear wheel gear, and a gear based steering system, and that's it function wise, so a little disappointing in that regard. Oh it also has 2 kickstand thingies, so the bike can be parked resting on either side. As you can see i went with using a buildable figure like a few other entries have. And i'm glad i did as well, because at one point i was really struggling to scale the bike to go with the low down look i was after. I think the buildable figure really helped in that regard. Have also changed the name of the bike, it's now called a Wingblade R. Thanks for viewing. A few more additional pics: PS: Apologies for pics looking all the same. Sometimes i hate taking pics of my mocs, as i can never decide on what angle looks the best, etc.
  3. That looks brilliant, love it! A nice little amp would look really cool in the shop too, if possible.
  4. Hey that's a really nice modification @bricksboy! I'm really warming to the aesthetic of ditching the surfboard styling feature, in favour of opening doors. I think there's still enough there style wise, that it still remains faithful to the original design. Top notch work!
  5. It's a cool idea for the new road system, and the studs that are there doesn't spoil it as they're minimal really. The inverted pieces work pretty well the other way, if you want to do a draw bridge/lifting bridge. (did this digital build for a contest a couple of years ago)
  6. Both are awesome @_TLG_! Though i do slightly prefer the GTS to the GTB, because Magnum. I really love the way you've done the wing mirrors too!
  7. Thanks for the kind words @imvanya! I prefer the movement of the height adjustment more on the small wheel version, as it returns to normal height without any other assistance. The big wheel version requires the front and back to be pushed down by fingertip, due to the hinges used. Which isn't too bad though, as it allows for the front or back to be posed at independent heights. Both versions adjust their heights using the same principal/method (cam). Thank you @Nightfall! It works by using a cam system like the pic of my early submission @imvanya has kindly added. I did change it slightly though as the stop is now built into the body of the car, and the pieces between the wheels are now completely flat tiles. Here's a pic of the bigger version, but with a metallic grill and skate pieces: And here's a version of it in teal/dark turquoise colour. Had to substitute some parts though, as they don't come in the desired colour yet. Decided to use the rounded corners on the rear of both versions, though the tail fins of the previous version can be easily added.
  8. After being very impressed by seeing @Versteinert's amazing winning entry finally being produced, I've decided to share a few pics here of my own final entry into the same contest. Unfortunately it didn't quite get submitted as i'd liked it to have been, as it got stuck in a submission queue. In fairness it's not surprising really as there was around 1000 entries in total, so i can imagine it must've been a nightmare for the staff handling all of those submissions, trying to get them approved before the deadline was over. To be honest though, i highly doubt my entry would've made it to the final fan vote, partly because of the out of scale small wheels i decided to use, but more importantly because of the hinge pieces i'd also used, as i later found out LEGO haven't produced them for quite some time. Ultimately though, i doubt my design could really hold a candle to the final 10 submissions, as they were all pretty awesome! Anyway, here's what my entry should've been. It's called the 'Deluxor Cote d'Azure'. In hindsight it doesn't look that great now, but i was really pleased at the time by it's ride height adjustment system i'd implemented. You twist the spare wheel cover at the back, and hey presto! the car lifts and stays at it's new height, until you decide to twist it back. It works surprisingly well! Over the past few days, i decided to evolve the idea a bit by giving it larger wheels, so it would be more fitting to the modular building scale cars. I did do another version too, that has the ice skate front bumpers and chrome/metalised silver grill, as well as minus the rear fins, but my camera battery died, so pics of that will have to wait for another day. And finally a couple of pics of them side by side (old and new). Thanks for stopping by and checking out my creation. Will be updating with a few more pics when i get the chance.
  9. Man these are some cool cars! I'm really diggin the red SWB Audi Quattro and BMW M3! I quite like your VW T1 too, as it really looks like a miniature version of the LEGO Creator version. It's inspiring me to finish off my own version (T1 camper). Though it's been sitting unfinished like this for the past 6 months.
  10. Sorry, i can't think of any solution really. Having said that, i can think of one, but it would mean sacrificing the 2x1 sloped curve that sits on top of the front arch.
  11. Thanks! I don't know how hard it will be to gently manipulate the flexible part in the LDD, but would suggest using the flexible hose instead of the flexible axle. If not, it could still look cool without a roller coaster. Plus i'm sure you can think of various rides that translate well to your awesome miniature builds!
  12. That's a fantastic solution @koalayummies! It's a shame it now limits it to one minifigure (+things ), but i think it's a worthwhile sacrifice to ensure the surfboards stay attached. It is a shame LEGO didn't foresee such a glaring issue, as i imagine they had the parts easily at hand to test to see whether it works, before they chose the final 10 entries of the contest before the fan vote. I'm still glad that they stayed true to their word in bringing us all what we voted for though, as it still looks really good!
  13. These look awesome @dimka_ya! I came across these on your Flickr before. Would love to see you add a small amusement/theme park, using flexible hoses as roller coaster tracks, (maybe with 1x1 vertical holders representing coaster cars). A big ferris wheel would also look good and would add an unmistakable touch to it too.
  14. This looks awesome! If i could change one thing though, it would be the wingmirrors. Apart from that, it looks spot-on!
  15. Thanks @carlo.fadel! Thanks @LegoMFP_David! Unfortunately no, with regards to the 240z. I have quite a big backlog of instructions to do and put up on my Rebrickable. I'll PM you when i get around to it though. And i'm with you with regards to the Dodge Ram, towing a Viper or 70's challenger. I agree, i don't think many other Dodge models have a well known appeal, although i think a Dart would be cool too maybe. Thanks @TeddytheSpoon! Couldn't agree more about the classic cars translating better. I think they're generally less reliant on stickers for headlights etc too. And yes to a Dart, that would be pretty awesome! Especially if they made it look drag spec with larger rear tyres. Though as much as i'd love to see one, it's still one of those cars that's fairly obscure outside of the US. So i think it's unlikely we'll see one.
  16. I really hope they do the new Toyota hypercar, that would be a definite must have for me! The Koenigsegg wiould be pretty cool too. Personally though, i'd love to see them do more classic rally cars. Would love a rally Datsun 240z to go with this street version i created. I also think a rally Z, would fit in well with my Ford Escort MK1 and Lancia Fulvia, (similar era). I could really do with a Renault 5 Maxi turbo as well, to go with the Renault F1 Espace, i created earlier this year.
  17. I think i remember this from the LEGO vintage car contest. Looks awesome @darkhorse00! Especially love the doors. You've captured the look of the classic MG perfectly.
  18. Excellent review @Ecclesiastes. And congratulations @Versteinert! It must be an awesome feeling, seeing your your work officially immortalised by LEGO. So cool! Unfortunately i haven't been lucky enough to acquire one, but i hope to build it in an alternative colour if i can. I think they've done a really good job in keeping it so close to the original, but when i build it, it's definitely going to have the clear windscreen instead of the blue. . I may also swap the wheels for white ones, as i think that would go really well. Oh, and i'll definitely be adding those ice cream swirls to the front, just like your original version, to give it back its classic Dagmar appeal.
  19. This is really coming together strong now! Even if it didn't have a title, could still easily tell it's fox inspired. Awesome!
  20. That looks awesome! Perfect colour choice too! Gives it a Kawasaki vibe. It'll look right at home cruising the streets of neo-Tokyo. Definitely Kaneda's other bike!
  21. Thanks! Though i've changed it again to something a bit simpler. Thanks! It has changed now though, (too complicated and a tad bit too bulky). I'm trying to hang in there too, but i really am out of my depth when it comes to technic. I'm taking a few days off thinking/working on it, then will hopefully return with a fresh head. In the meantime i'm just going to concentrate on building what i'm fairly familiar with.
  22. More slowwwww progress. I tried to make my rack and pinion steering solution work, but i quickly discovered no matter what i tried, it felt really notchy. So after looking at @MinusAndy's solution, i decided to attempt a kind of push-pull steering too. There's not much movement in it (about 2 studs length from lock to lock), but the steering itself doesn't steer that much anyway, so i'm happy with it so far. Please excuse the long red axle, it's just there to illustrate the lean angle achievable before the swing arms bottom/ground out. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the bodywork/fairings within that footprint, as i really want the bike to be a bit of a carver. I do also hope i can come up with a leaning sidecar, to stop it toppling over at that angle, but judging by the way time is flying by, and what little progress i've made with my entry, (still so much to do), it's unlikely i'll get around to it. Also may swap the springs for yellow ones as more weight is added. The front has a nice dive to it at the moment, but it's definitely starting to push more easily now the steering solution is sorted.
  23. It's amazing the amount of complex engineering you've managed to squeeze into this bike! The radial engine is a work of art, and the steering solution is straight up genius! I hope you don't mind @MinusAndy, but seeing the way you've done the steering, and the fact i couldn't quite get my own idea to work as i'd planned, I've now gone a similar route, (push pull steering), but slightly different. Your bike has had a huge inspiration on my own work so far. I can't wait to see your finished steed!
  24. Man, this is really starting to come together! I'm with HorcikDesigns, please keep the front swingarm.
  25. Can't wait to see it, @HorcikDesigns. And please ignore my comment about the knobbly scrambler tyres. I'm not a huge fan of them on this particular application, but it's hardly a deal breaker, as the bike still looks fantastic with them!
