The Brick of Nations ---- Retired from Old Game
marvelBoy123 replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
President Dmitrievich of Alsarh BoN This is an act of courtesy for although I am not obliged to inform you of these actions you all already know most likely and I would hate for you to form incorrect conclusions. My forces and those of Plighia have recently struck a decisive blow against terrorism. We have captured a number of ring leaders and destroyed their main HQ in Alsarh. It appears that terrorists have managed to infiltrate my country unnoticed as we connected all activity such as this with the threat of the Walara Dominance State. My government has in NO way funded them and I have personally scrutinised all evidence that may connect them. It appears that they were supported by foreign mercenaries. We employed many into our army during shortages of troops in previous years. They are highly skilled and can receive higher clearance more easily than many. It appears that they supplied the terrorists with training equipment that they were meant to be using. The situation is under control and we do not require aid but I would ask to extend international cooperation in order to eliminate them. We would advise all nations to send home all foreign combat groups employed in their militaries and check all senior government and military officials. I am sure that many of you will condemn me for my earlier statements but I now believe that I understand the 'evidence' of terrorists in my borders that was displayed by Bandaud. A simple calculation error may have given an incorrect location, a landscape scan showed that the rock formations were similar to those found in the south east of Alsarh (D3). Though we have not used the pictured equipment, many foreign combat groups use weaponry and vehicles that they were trained with from their home country, perhaps explaining this. So in conclusion, I must ask for your cooperation, Bandaud, Walara, Priunulia, Erotema and any others are once again invited to join myself and Plighia in solving this problem. I must reiterate that if you want to conduct military operations in my country you join the task force. Independent action will be treated as a hostile act of war. Thank you, Honorable members of the Brick of Nations. -
Love the AT vehicle and the snow RV. The smoke effect on that frigate was great too. It is nice to see reminders of the older builds, I think that we sometimes forget how many great ones there were.

They are only prototypes and this is simply to add to the post and to see feedback about designs. TK-32 MBT - Perhaps my favourite vehicle, I have been trying to integrate more of a camo scheme into my builds and I have spent a lot of time messing round with turret designs until I settled on this one. http://TK-32 main battle tank by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Submarine - Not a patch on some of those seen in Phase 1 (they were pretty incredible) but I am fairly happy for a first attempt http://Alsarhian Submarine by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Fighter Jet - My least favourite - I really need to work on the fuselage area, this is more a prototype http://F-73 Spearhead by marvelBoy123, on Flickr I hope you like them and would love design tips. I hope to make a tank with chain link in the future but I do not currently have any and compared to the 'rubber' treads that I have it can be quite expensive to buy in bulk. There is more information about each design on my flickr. I look forward to seeing the rest of your builds

Welcome to eurobricks! Not being a native english speaker isn't an issue, many people here aren't; it is just a common language so that we all have some chance of understanding each other. Besides, what you have written above is pretty good - treat this as an opportunity to perfect your English even further! If you are ever unsure, don't be afraid to ask for help.

Al Sinbar - NW map square K4 The team enters the poorer region of the city. All the preparation has been leading up to this. Terrorist's had managed to enter our borders and while Plighia stops an arms deal, it's our job to destroy the terrorist HQ - at all costs. http://WIP by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Interior detailing by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Interior detailing 2 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr The terrorists have taken one side of the street as a base. They are mainly based in a colourful graffiti covered slum complex. There are many suspicious items within including all manner of chemicals and what appears to be a dirty bomb. http://WIP - well kind of... by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://More exteriors by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Reshoot by marvelBoy123, on Flickr An Alsarhian tank - the Merkaviov MK9 enters the unusually quite street and brave troops suddenly poor onto the street surrounding the rebels. http://The other side of the street by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Interiors continued by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://High Priest by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Todays offering by marvelBoy123, on Flickr The local people have been informed of what would occur and gathered into the mosque by high priest Jafar. The next door building that has been setup as a battlefield hospital is hit by an RPG, damaging the wall. http://Another interior by marvelBoy123, on Flickr The fight continues as the soldiers clear out the remaining buildings. The terrorists are little match for the expert precision of the Alsarhian forces and their weapons are unable to damage the tank. This section is a success but there are plenty more similar compounds to clear all across the city. Let's hope that blue team are able to stop the weapons getting to the terrorists once and for all. THIS EVENT IS SCHEDULED TO OCCUR AT THE SAME TIME AS @ODA 401's build. Feel free to comment but be aware this event HAS NOT OCCURED YET. I would love any feedback or suggestions - Anything that you like or you think would help me improve

I don't know what to use it for other than as a dome. It depends what you like building. I guess that it could be used in a spaceship - @seb71 used some similar curves in his chimera spaceship build so perhaps have a look at that. It's shape makes it quite versatile if integrated correctly.

I don't really know of ANY good ones. Galactus is one of the few figures where you have to go for custom or a large brick built figure I think.

The Brick of Nations ---- Retired from Old Game
marvelBoy123 replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
President Dmitrievich of Alsarh BoN The Peace conference in Alsarh has finished and we are closer to receiving a result but it is still not perfect I suggest that at some point their should be a follow up summit with more nations involved. I would also like to ask nations to join a task force to conclusively prove or disprove the rumours of terrorists in Alsarh. This will if other nations join be headed by Plighia and will have my permission to operate unhindered within my borders. Myself and Plighia would be willing to supply troops but only if other nations join. This invitation is directed at Bandaud, Walara, New Brickia and Priunulia though it is open to other nations. As Honourable Count Septem said, we must now take action, negotiation can only get us so far and we must now act together to get to the bottom of this mess. Thank You -
If you use flickr BBCodes then you can have higher resolution pictures linked directly on the site. Nice build as well there are a ton of great details in there.

The Brick of Nations ---- Retired from Old Game
marvelBoy123 replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
President Dmitrievich of Alsarh BoN Members of the BoN, I would encourage you to join us at the Alsarhian summit. We are working proactively towards peace but your contribution can help us to achieve a resolution to the problems we face. I urge you to get involved in order to help secure peace! Thank you, -
President Dmitrievich of Alsarh Please gentleman, this is not a case where the specifics matter. This is not an argument over the details but an attempt to resolve an issue peacefully. In light of our recent productive activity I have decided to extend the summit a further two days from the originally proposed length, I hope that in this time we can fully resolve this issue and settle things peacefully.
-
President Dmitrievich of Alsarh Thank you, Mr Jiménez - productive steps towards peace. If other countries agreed to this task force would you allow them within your borders in the same agreement as in my own country? I do not want to pressure you but desperate times call for desperate measures and peace must be a priority.

What makes a MOC interesting?
marvelBoy123 replied to Rustinidiel's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Detail is key no matter the size of the build. Too much and it can become cluttered too little and it is plain and boring. That is personally one of the bits that I find hardest to get right when building a MOC. Also try to get as much feedback as possible that always helps.
