  1. That's funny. I forget that a lot of older fans didn't grow up with LEGO Star Wars II. When I hear Rebel Friend I know immediately what it is. As much as I like and want a Rebel Friend minifigure I really don't know if LEGO would do it. I could see them making a Rebel Friend figure for one of their own Star Wars mini series like the "Freemaker Adventures" but with Disney in control of Star Wars and doing what they want, the possibility of Rebel Friend seems rather unlikely as a polybag promo. Of course I'd love to eat my words and get one, though.
  2. Expecto Patronum looks great. The trees are some of the best LEGO has produced themselves and the amount of minifigures included is impressive. I very impressed by this set and much like others, this is a day one purchase for me.
  3. This wave looks tight! I really like it. My favorite is Lloyd’s Titan Mech. I’d also like to pick up Cole’s Dirt Bike and Lloyd’s Journey. Castle of the Forsaken Emperor is great looking but I have no room for a set like that. Overall, great stuff. I’m really glad I jumped on board the Ninjago train with TLNM. I will have to Bricklink all the ninja and Akita. The Ice Samurai aesthetic is great, too.
  4. I think you’re right. I don’t think the box art of any set does the actual model justice and I end up being much more pleased with the product in hand.
  5. As someone who did not get the 2009 Tantive IV I am unite pleased with the set. I like that it is a playset, it makes for storing/displaying the minifigures a bit easier. I’ll have a better stance on this set once more images are revealed but as it stands, this is a set I want to get on May 4th. I will be removing the stud shooters from the build, however.
  6. You’re probably right But I think I’ll be satisfied with this one for the next 10 years. I missed out on the 2009 one so this is really big for me. The Tantive IV is my favorite Star Wars ship.
  7. An image saying there will be a new exclusive Tantive IV on May 4th got leaked. Looks like it is from a LEGO catalogue.
  8. Interesting that the Tantive IV is not a UCS set. I’m certainly not complaining and I can not wait to see official images.
  9. I don’t think the movie is good at all, but prior to the film’s release there was certainly a lot of buzz around the Wizarding World which I’m sure certainly helped sales. Not to mention that Harry Potter as a pop culture icon is still prevalent and relevant today as much as it was in the 2000s during the release of the movies and books. I, and many others were very excited for the Wizarding World theme, specifically the Harry Potter based sets, because it was something I and many others really like. I grew up with the 2010/2011 waves of Harry Potter and was super stoked for the line rebooting. Not to mention, the 2018 wave was extremely successful both financially and from a notoriety standpoint. 71043, 71022 and 75954 were all finalists for the 2019 Toy of the Year Awards, and 75954 won Construction Toy of the Year and 71022 won Collectible of the Year in the 2019 Toy of the Year Awards. I don’t think these accolades and notoriety came about because of The Crimes of Grindelwald coming to theaters, it was because these were high quality, innovative and well made LEGO sets that also had brand recognition from a franchise that is beloved by many young and old. I don’t think Harry Potter should be discontinued. It is a solid theme that proved successful and has not lost any steam yet.
  10. Ron’s lack of freckles is strange, but it is a suitable face for the character, I am really not a stickler for movie accuracy, I just want a good representation of the characters. I’ll probably end up using the CMF hairpiece on the new figure.
  11. The Harry Potter reboot happened because Harry Potter and the Wizarding World were coming back into the general public’s perception with the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. I think though that Harry Potter is a rather strong pop culture icon and franchise that it warrants a revival and resurge in popularity every few years.
  12. The Akita minifigure looks really nice. I guess I’m going to have a set she shows up in. I gotta say, my opinion has really turned around on this wave after seeing the minifigures more and seeing the preliminaries. I think this is going to be a pretty good wave.
  13. Thanks! I too wish there was some cool prints in that style. I really wish there was some more space-themed civilian torsos and legs.
  14. I made more progress on my MOC! I have done so much and I am really liking the way things are turning out.
  15. I am so far just as impressed with the leaks for this upcoming wave as I was last year’s, if not more. The best things for me have been the PoA Harry, Sirius, Buckbeak and Harry’s patronus. I also like the first task tri-wizard tournament figures (especially Harry and Cedric). Do I wish minifigures like first task Harry had leg printing? Yeah, but I am honestly so pleased with the idea we are simply getting more HP sets with amazing updates. This theme was what sparked my true love and interest in LEGO (specifically 5378) and seeing get a well made update after long hiatus has been awesome. As for rumored sets, I hope the Graveyard duel set is true as that was a memorable scene in the movies to me when I was a kid.
  16. I’m actually quite positively surprised by this wave. It is certainly better than previous waves. I really like the new Robin and Batmam minifigures. The Batmobile, while not amazing, is certainly one of the best we’ve had and I am really considering purchasing the set. I might also get the Mr. Freeze set, mostly for Robin. The Batcave is okay at best. Not terrible. The other sets are eh. I like the GCPD squad car. Overall, I am pleased by this wave.
  17. I really dig the Sirius minifigure. I think that Luke’s TLJ hairpiece works really well. I also quite like the face print. I am hoping he has an alternate expression. Overall, this is a really good figure and general representation of the character. Can not wait for the official images.
  18. After thinking about this series and getting over the fact there is no Goofy, I like this series. I do not think it is as good as series one, but there are some great figures in here. Hercules is probably my favorite, I do not really know why, he just is. I like that Chip and Dale use mid-sized legs in two new colors, which adds more minifigure customization options. I like Anna and Elsa, I think they both translated really well into minifigure form. While I still think that the Mickey and Minnie feel like wasted slots considering we are getting them in the Ideas set, I guess it is nice I can get the two of them without paying $90. Overall, it isn’t a bad lineup, a little disappointing, but not bad.
  19. Is it too unreasonable to think Sora from Kingdom Hearts could have a minifigure in the series. Or is too unlikely considering he is a Disney/Square Enix character? I’d like to just have him represented in minifigure form.
  20. Is it too unreasonable to want Sora from Kingdom Hearts represented as a minifigure since he is a Disney/Square Enix character? I’d like to just have him represented from the series.
  21. Ooh, what about the Qudditch World Cup? Have Harry, maybe Arthur Weasley and one of the Weasley kids (Ginny or Ron) and have a small tent build and a cart with Quidditch merchandise.
  22. That’d be pretty neat. It could also be a small vignette of Dumbledore’s office.
  23. That’s fair. Personally, I wouldn’t complain about getting two small sets each with a dementor
  24. In regards to a scene that would fit in the $15 price range could be Lupin teaching Harry how to use expecto patronum. While there is already going to be a set by that name, it could easily be called something like “Defense Against the Dark Arts Class” or something kind of silly like “Harry’s Spell Training.” You could have Lupin, Harry, a Dementor and either a treasure chest or a cabinet to put a boggart/dementor in so that Harry can fight it. There could also be a desk with some stuff on it.
