I was super excited to read this post. I dig analytical work and this is a cool theory. Kingdoms is a really solid line, and I dig its more grounded medieval setting, but it certainly would have been neat. I owned 7955, but never thought much about the baby dragon piece that was included in it. The change in the text on the tile piece is super interesting, too. I think you might be on to something regarding the green dragon. Awesome stuff.

I dig this revamp/reimagining. I think you captured the spirit of the original set really well. All the colors blend really well together and the blue roofs really pop. Awesome stuff.

I am absolutely in love with this! The stone detailing is simple and extremely effective. I really like the architecture of the additional houses and buildings. There are some really nice techniques I'm definitely going to try out! Awesome stuff!

Hello everyone! This weekend I purchased various Star Wars minifigure pieces from 2002-2003 and thought it would be a neat exercise to make some retro/modern hybrid figures. This was really fun and I've got some ideas for several more to make in the future. If any of you would like to do this, too, I would love to see what you all come up with! Thanks, Henry (From L to R): Tatooine Luke, X-Wing Pilot Luke, Dagobah Training Luke, Bespin Luke, and Jedi Luke (From L to R): Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ep, III) and Anakin Skywalker (Ep. III)

Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Henry Bricklider replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Alright, here's my two cents: This was an extremely welcome surprise to wake up to today. However, I will say that I am slightly underwhelmed. I don't think the quality of the pictures taken helps the look of the overall set. I argue that LEGO sets look way better in person than they do on the box. I think Flourish and Blotts and Scribbilus are my two favorite exteriors. The rest look great, too. QQS does look way too pink on the second floor (but that may look better in-person/with official images). I really like the cobblestone street. The overall modular building feel to this set makes me happy, as those are some of my favorite sets. I didn't really have any big expectations when it came to the minifigure selection. I like the trio's robes, not only are they accurate to the movie, but they remind of the PS2 Chamber of Secrets designs. It's really difficult to tell what face print Lucius has, so I'll save judgement on him for a later time. My eyes aren't very good, so spotting all the neat details in the interiors is rather difficult. The inclusion of the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff Quidditch robes is really nice. I'll more than likely always have the exterior on full display; but, I'm looking forward to filling the shops with students and maybe some custom witches and wizards. I'm looking forward to the official reveal, I think I'll have a better stance on DA then. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Henry Bricklider replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is a really solid first wave. The Monkey King Mech, the food truck and cargo ship are the standout sets to me. As much I like these sets, they are really expensive. I've just now got a job and while I would really like to pick these up, I don't think I can justify purchasing them. The White Dragon Horse Bike would be a nice gateway set, but $35 is too much for me, especially when the new Harry Potter wave is coming soon. I'll probably end up Bricklinking some of the minifigures. Best case scenario, I'll eventually get the mech. -

I'm really digging this wave, overall. Here are my thoughts (in order of set number): Room of Requirement: This a great $20 set. I really like all the exclusive figures, the blackboard sticker is solid, and the facade is neat and can easily fit in with my Hogwarts display. Easy instant purchase for me. Forbidden Forest: I'm not a big fan of this set, primarily because this is a scene in OotP I don't care much for. The Grawp build is interesting. The "mega fig" works well for him. The Centaurs are the best figures in the set. I think I prefer the Bricktober Umbridge. I'll still probably get this set, just not immediately. Privet Drive: I really like the build of the house. The texture of the roof is really good looking, and I like the overall color scheme. The Dursley minifigures are really good. I felt like something was lacking in the house, and I realized there is no garage. I like the set, but I'm going to wait on getting it. Hogwarts Astronomy Tower: I really like the overall shape and build. The sand green elements on the roof Make it pop, and it feels reminiscent of the older Hogwarts sets. The minifigures aren't the greatest (I'm in the camp of preferring more Hogwarts uniforms. I do really like Neville though. The reused head for Draco isn't great, and Lavender Brown is very weak. The white door frames are bizarre and off-putting. I like the Ravenclaw dorm and astronomy balcony(?). The greenhouse is kind of nice, too. I'm looking forward to adding this to my Hogwarts display. Hedwig: I'm not the biggest fan. It looks a little too mechanical, but I think it could grow on me. The Burrow: This is the best set of the wave, and one of the best of the theme overall (it's up there with the Hogwarts Express for me). This is a major improvement and upgrade from the 2010 set and I really liked that one when it came out. The design team absolutely killed it with this and it is instantly recognizable. There are so many great details that I can't wait to inspect and scrutinize close up. The minifigures are pretty good. I really like Arthur and Molly (I think the hairpiece works just fine). I like Tonks, it's really nice to finally get her. Bellatrix is kind of a downgrade (I'll probably replace her face with the 2010 version's). I think Fenrir was fine from the leaks. Ginny was looks good and I'm not miffed by the reuse of the Jurassic World lady's face. This set looks to be 100% worth the $100. I love it. -
DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Henry Bricklider replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Mister Miracle was posted in the usual places. He looks really good! I’m very excited for this figure (now all we need is Big Barda). I haven’t spoken about some of the other figures. The Batman and Wonder Woman are must-haves for me. I can’t wait to see the rest of this series. There seems to be a really good variety and selection of characters we haven’t yet seen in physical form (if we get Zatanna it will be perfect). -

The new Keaton Batman looks really cool, and I really want to make sure I get my hands on him when he comes out. I haven’t looked forward to a Batman minifigure in a long time. -

Are we aloud to Wishlist on this forum in regards to the upcoming CMF series? I can remove this post if so. I'd like to see a really nice new variant for Superman (he hasn't had a proper revamp in the mainline sets), really want Zatanna, Red Robin, a proper comic book Alfred, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Superboy (Jonathan Kent), some of the New Gods (Mister Miracle, Big Barda, and Orion). -
LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Henry Bricklider replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think I just might try and get the AT-ST. The last version of it I have is from the Battle of Endor, plus, I can’t get over how cool that Mandalorian figure is. (I am a sucker for Boba Fett, and this new character is just about as cool looking as Boba). I might also get the Death Star Cannon, really just for Obi-Wan. -
LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Henry Bricklider replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I am a more pleasantly surprised with these sets than I thought I would be considering I have not been a fan of the sequel trilogy or the previous sets based on it. Here are my thoughts. The Death Star Cannon does not look good. I think the build is overly simple and not interesting. The only thing I really like about is the new Obi-Wan minifigure. I’m trying to get every main character from ANH in their most updated form and I’m glad that Old Ben is in an inexpensive set. The Resistance A-Wing is an A-Wing. That’s kind of all I have to say. It looks nice, I like the dark green and white color scheme. That’s kind of all I have to say about that. I’ll pass on this set. The Resistance Y-Wing caught my eye almost immediately upon first seeing the images. I like the overall look and color scheme of the set. I really like Poe and the new Bounty Hunter figure (I don’t remember her name and the text is too small on the box). However, I probably won’t get it because of its price, unless it’s a gift or my euro to dollars conversion was wrong. The Pasaana Speeder Chase looks nice and I think the build is cool. I like the little market stand, too. The First Order bike doesn’t look good and looks like it came out of one of the bad DC/Marvel Superheroes sets. I’ll probably pass on this one. The AT-ST raider is neat. I like the look of it and the bounty hunter-ized look of it makes it stand out from previous versions of the vehicle. The best minifigure in the set is The Mandalorian. I hope this set isn’t more than $50. The UCS(?) Yoda creeps me out. The eyes look really unsettling. The rest of the model looks pretty good. I think I’m partial to the previous UCS Yoda (7194). This is a definite pass for me. Kylo Ren’s Shuttle is probably the most disappointing of the wave. I guess it looks a little more sleek than the previous iteration, and the colors are correct this time. All the exposed studs on the side of the wings really take the wind out of my sails with this one. I might just Bricklink Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter since I missed out on it when it was in stores. I don’t think any Millenium Falcon will look great to me ever since I laid eyes on the UCS Falcon. That isn’t to say this one is bad, however. The gaps between plates has been fixed, which is good. The new Finn figure looks nice and I like the new alien. I’ll more than likely pass on this set. Overall, it’s an okay wave with a lot of standout minifigures. -

I bought The Rise of Voldemort yesterday and I really like it. I thought the build on the box was really sloppy looking. However, in hand, it looks much better. The minifigures are the best part of the set. Personally, I think it is better than Expecto Patronum. -

First thoughts on the train: I quite like it. It was immediately recognizable to me. The station exterior looks nice and I’m glad they added it. The standout figure of this set for me is Goofy. While I like it, I probably won’t get it and instead just Bricklink Goofy. Who knows, maybe other images will do something to sell 100% on this set.- 961 replies

I really want another CMF series. I don’t really have any specific characters I want to see represented. I had so much fun last year searching for the series, and I ended up getting all the Harry Potter based characters. -

I've seen the set numbers. It seems extremely early to be getting this information unless it's a January 2020 release. Does anyone remember the rumors of the quidditch practice set and the other set numbers leaked end of 2018/beginning of 2019? As much as I'd like to see more sets in late December/January, I am not going to be chomping at the bit for these to be official. -

I don’t know if this topic is still ongoing but it seemed like fun. Ninjago is fantastic with many unique and fun builds that blend sci-fi, fantasy and historical architecture in one sprawling action theme. The last several waves of sets have been fantastic. 9/10 Next Theme: Harry Potter -
What is your favorite Lego Theme?
Henry Bricklider replied to Foreman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My favorite theme is probably Harry Potter. The books and sets from 2010 were a big part of my childhood. The LEGO Ninjago Movie is great, and I like Creator Expert (really just the modular buildings). -
I’m digging all of these sets! The second wave didn’t impress me too much, but I am tempted to get all of these. The Metalbeard set is the best, and it will be my first Benny minifigure. I like the Wyld Mayhem Fighter looks cool, and I like all the exclusive minifigures. Do these come out in August?

I really like this advent calendar. Unlike the Star Wars calendar, I can actually use most, if not all of the builds from this to add to my Hogwarts display. This year I’ll finally have a Christmas display. -
Thank you so much for dropping this info. I just ordered the pieces. Way easier than waiting for the minifigure pack to actually be available for purchase, and cheaper.

So July is the US release? Part of me is glad we’re getting these sets sooner now, but the other half of me is bothered because it gives me less time to save up.
