This truly is a very impressive re-imagining of our beloved Fortress!

That's just crazy!! It's flabbergasting how quickly they're doing this now.

That's a fun innerconnection of media! I too am looking forward to following the process on the building of the soldier. Please post lost of pictures.

I've always been very fond of the small Imperial fort featured in the 1990 LEGO Ideas Book 260 so I gathered up all of the pieces for it from my extra parts and built it so that I can display it eventually alongside all of my official Bluecoats sets. Unfortunately I don't have room in my current layout (as evidenced in the pictures above) but I'll have it ready for when I either do a re-arrangement of the layout or if I do a larger display at a convention or something. (The only thing I don't have to be able to display this 100% complete with all of the other sets is an extra Governor minifigure.) Thanks Evan! I'm always impressed by all of your MOCs and you definitely put the pieces to good use. I'm not much of a MOC builder myself (though I do dabble from time to time) so I get my enjoyment out of the display of official models.

Honestly, seeing this with the revised BSB makes me like it even more!

Thank you kindly! I'm pretty happy with it myself!

Nostalgic Retrospective Video on Vintage LEGO Pirates
PxChris replied to fbi's topic in LEGO Pirates
It makes me so happy to know that there's somebody else out there who is getting the same kind of enjoyment that I am in reliving my childhood (and even going far beyond that, since I never had close to this many Pirates sets in the 80s & 90s) through my display! -
The minifigure count currently stands at a total of 50 Imperial Bluecoats (of all varieties, from simple soldiers and sailors to the Governor himself [x2]) and 77 Pirates in total. Still missing 6273 - haven't been able to find one at a price I'm willing to pay just yet. I know that I still need to get some sort of a backdrop behind the diorama for it to look truly finalized. My wife isn't thrilled at that particular idea however, since my LEGO room also is our media room. Also, keeping in mind that the primary purpose to this display is my own playfulness and enjoyment, not photographing. And my lighting in this room continues to be abismal for photography.

I like the extra visual splash that it gives the sub-forum! I agree that with forums being so heavily text-based, that this adds in some much needed graphical spice to the view. -
I really love this one! I feel it has a great level of detail and charm without going completely overboard on size, actually making it more like a typical LEGO set. This would be a great Imperial addition to Barracuda Bay.

Very happy to post them for you!

I was hoping that the original poster might be so inclined... but I happily posted it myself now!

That's adorable! This should be posted to the Facebook group!

Nostalgic Retrospective Video on Vintage LEGO Pirates

I was able to watch the full video yesterday @fbi and it was definitely quite enjoyable! Certainly hit on a very strong nostalgic note. I was quite (pleasantly) surprised to see a number of my photos in the video. -

This video is great! I will make some time later today to watch it in total with my full attention. -
Something along this lines is precisely what we need to go along with Barracuda Bay! My biggest complaint is that it features redcoat soldiers instead of bluecoats like the original Eldorado.

This looks to be very fun to watch! Looking forward to the first full episode.
