Technic 2020 Set Discussion
Jundis replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hmm from last years thread, the first pictures of sets (on the shelf, not leaked blurry ones) appeared around the same date. I hope we get em even before black friday :-) -

[App] [iOS, Android] Controlz
Jundis replied to _Ozzee_'s topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Ozzee, I really like the simplicity of your app :-) Is the servo mode already enabled? I just see a slider in the options for the vertical controls "Servo Angle". But it doesn't seem to work, as the motor runs continuisly in one direction with no calibration possible...? -
I like it very much! The 3 oops's made my day :D A suggestion for the loading with the small bucket: Maybe implement a little mechanism that the bucket can tip when arriving the highest point, therefor only dropping the load there. Easier said than done of course. Also you can close the gaps of the drum by adding these slopes to the pinholes on the end of the azure panels?

Hmm the 42009 has 2600 pieces with the 62.4 x 20 tires. But this thing has 5 axles, so maybe with only 3 axles, it could be possible, but I actually doubt it. -

@kolbjha that is most plausible solution Maybe in the same scale as the Mack Anthem and the Car Transporter (Tire 49.5 x 20)...? -

I just checked for updates of the line-up: On the News from StoneWars from the 3rd of October, it is said the following for the 42109 Top Gear Rally Car (translated with DeepL): The question now remains: Is it really a Lancia Delta? The mentioned colour combo white + red + blue matches though, even if i didn't find one particular with a red spoiler. -

Hmm with 463 parts...? Expecting somewhat the size of the 42093, a steering+diff in the front axle (11 studs between wheels) should be no problem. But knowing TLG, my guess would be a 2WD playable car: The control+ hub will be installed in the cabin, one motor for steering in the front, one motor for driving in the back. Maybe small fenders in white, if they go with the Rally version. I doubt the possibility to include a suspension of any kind... -

True, same thing goes for the 42111 F&F car if it is "just" a new Toyota Supra. -

That's the thing. As right now, I am more convinced that the 42111, which will be a F&F set according to the pic from Snorrowitz, will be some kind of car as already mentioned. In the trailer, we see a McLaren, some kind of a trophy truck and a military flatbed truck. Not so much of a fairground mixer... So there is the question how trustworthy was the old rumour from Timorzelorzwarz? Hopefully at least the Yellow backhow will be a thing... -

Going back to a rumour from about a month ago: A fairground mixer doesn't really match an F&F vehicle... or maybe F&F stands for Fun & Family after all? -
As I did not find a specific topic about this, I created this thread about some technic parts which I am still missing in Stud.io (build 2.0.10_1 from Oct 10, 2019). Especially I am missing the new Control+ Motors (XL and L) as well as the Smarthub. At first I thought they are relatively new, so maybe they will come in a future patch. But then I did not find the pneumatic switch, which is from 2018. I am mostly building with ADP palette, but also searched in the master palette and did not find them... are there anyone who knows, when these parts will be included?

I go with a compromise: As a technic model, it's below average (B-Model is just useless...). But as a part donor I think its great with all the gears, small turntables, gear racks and tracks. -

Nice model! I like the "blockiness" of this one Have you tried different buckets? I think maybe this on suits you build better: Technic bucket -

Even without the stickers, this is a brilliant moc. For example take the headlights with the transclear x346 or the fifth-wheel coupling, which is mostly done using standard bricks. Great building techniques :-) -

Lego power supplies and motors
Jundis replied to Burf2000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Instead of opening up a new thread for the questions, I just use this one instead: Has anybody tried to power a small pneumatic pump with the wedo M-motor? Also, is it possible to use the same motor with maybe a little gearbox for controlling a pneumatic switch? As I don't already have either the motor nor the switch, it's hard to guess. At least in the Arocs, an L-Motor was used for the pump, but maybe the M-Motor will do the job...? I like to operate two big cylinders with it, speed (air pressure) is not that important. -

I partially disagree with this point. You are right as the electronics/informatics progressed way faster than any other field like mechanical engineering/building solutions. But this is a good thing as I surely wouldn't return to a cable-bound (80s/90s) or an IR-remote (2000+) if we can have a bluetooth-connection. Even bluetooth is around for about 20 years, it's still used (and will be used for quite some time as it seems right now) because it works quite well and independently from any progress in smartphone technology. This surely is the way to go. Just for comparison to a handheld controller: A handheld BT-controller (Analog buttons are a must for steering etc.!) would surely cost about 50€, everybody would complain how pricy this thing is. This controller (without a display) would be way more limited than a free programmable app, where there are endless possibilities for simple or more complex and even multiple functions, tasks to complete, informations about technical stuff etc. I mean just look at the R9800-video from Sariel. And this is just the second model using this app. You could connect sensors just like mindstorms with the hub or maybe connect a camera which can be built directly into some models, download and share new modules and templates for mocs. Just give them some time, as we all know, TLG don't rush new developments and never were the fastest to adopt new technologies. The inconsistency I complain about is the connection plugs for the motors and the hub. This seems way more worriing than the App to me. For the last point, thats exactly what happens to a limited and very specialized system what McLaren settled for. No possibilities to adopt, bound to one platform (Compaq with DOS). BT on the other hand is way more universal, the app runs on IOS and Android and surely will adopt if new smartphone softwares emerge. -
