  1. Oh my what a beauty! This is my favorite entry so far in this contest Okay here comes nippicking on the highest level: - one additional liftarm in the middle of the front would make the model more balanced and also still capture the look of the original, I think - swapping the yellow half bushes for LBG ones in the fake engine
  2. Like the progress :-) Imho the only thing that aren't matching are the fenders. Have you tried these fender extension panels? I used them in my TC21 Robo-Tractor and they fit perfectly onto the tractor tires, although connecting them to the body is not that pleasant :-/
  3. Not counting the cars, in 2018 we had 3 great models with the 42078, 42079 and 42082, the Zeux and Forrest Machine were rather meh... in my opinion... In my conclusion: 2023 was a really good year, as even the small models, especially the snow groomer, was great :)
  4. Just out of curiosity: What was it once and when was "once"? ;-)
  5. Maybe the cylinders are not correctly oriented, therefor the pistons jam in a certain position?
  6. Love your approach to dual-build the models :-) Altogether, it looks really great! Two little things came into mind: Have your tried to swap the 16T gear HOG for two half bewel 12T? The hood looks to narrow in my opinion. Can you make it to 4 stud width?
  7. This looks really cool! The first pics I thought the size difference would be that big, but it sure is! Does the light work well as steering? Seems like it could fall off easily, maybe the cone with axle groove would work better, but then would be that close to the original...
  8. The engine looks really cool and has very fitting proportions! I think the roof on your model is a little bit too high?
  9. That's a 7L liftarm, you can see the blue axle pins in every second pin hole :-P
  10. Or: 2 x 42160, a 42158, a 42157 and a 42161 for the same money. Then you have same amount of electronics and 2375 pieces more.... :D
  11. Looks more like two 4L half beams? The center axle for the steering would then be a 8 stud wide with end stop on top. I am blind, still can't spot em :D Or do you mean the black 7L liftarm that is connected on top of the macaroni pieces?
  12. Where is the liftarm you mentioned?
  13. Parts arrived, here is the new iteration, I'm really happy with the looks :-) Now two more attachments have to be built... problem is the big blue pump... maybe I'll switch to the older one instead...
  14. Hmm as these are 2 studs wide, maybe the axle hole doesn't run through, but the axle can only go in 1 stud either way (like the usual axle connectors ). But 1 end is offset by 45°?
  15. Oh my god, I can't believe they really introduced these pieces...! Has somebody figured out the settings of the changeover ring? Why 8? Seems only 4 positions engraved and the rest are just transition positions?
  16. That looks fantastic! This really is hard to tell appart from the original, great work!
  17. Dito. But my guess (or wish?) is a Claas Torion :-P
  18. With the new sturdy 19x3 frames and the tires from the upcoming 42160 Audi, I'd hope for a new iteration for a mobile crane. Maybe with a big and powerful pneumatic cylinder :D
  19. In one of the construction pics, I counted 13 of the yellow 19x3 frames and multiple DBG ones, this thing should be really structurally sound. In my opinion, Lego wanted to make this thing as sturdy as possible and therefor had to shrink the size. Maybe even Michael Kossmann himself was unsatisfied with the sagging of the lower structure of the 42100 and wanted to eliminate this as much as possible with the help of the new frames. But yes, Lego wants to show off. "Biggest" "Largest" ... I'd rather see 3 medium sized sets with each 1000 pieces than this behemoth.
  20. Seeing all the WIPs so far, this contest will likely have many entries! So cool to see the participation :-) I think its really a good idea to have 2 TCs each year, where one is more specialized and the other one for many entries. Thanks again @Jim for choosing this one
  21. Thought about making this model for the contest, too. 4-wheel steering AND the fake motor will be challenging to integrate into the small bundle. Gearbox will be a tight fit, too. Will follow this with great interest :-)
  22. Especially the roof section is outstandingly well done. Panel work is perfect, great job! The front section looks not that good in my humble opinion, sadly the small angled panels aren't available in light orange :-/
  23. Price already down to EUR 529,50 by some sellers. Depending on the sells charts, I expect the price to go down to well under 500 after some time.
  24. It's this one, normally used as a picture hanger: 67139 Thanks Igor! It's settled then :-)
  25. Thx :-) Progress has been made: The small cylinders are definetely to weak for the crane, so I have to use the bigger ones. On the other hand, the claw could be done with 1 big and 1 small, the transporter pack could be done with small cylinders :D I am still unhappy with the sideskirts, but other variants are also not that perfect: The left and right ones are nearest to the original, but I tend to like the middle one better...
