Welcome to EB, I have already commented on your pirate MOC, I must say that I wouldn't mind owning some of them dolphins myself. ;-) Hong kong you say? That must be an interesting place to live, I've never been there though I'd sure *wub* to one day :-)
-
That's quite an original creation you have there. I didn't even know there were lego dolphins. *sweet* Looks like the pirates will have to watch out for a new danger on the waves. *y* EDIT: Personal guards huh? I'd like to believe that for sure, cerainly would like such a mercenary force for myself

Really? I love the way they look, granted they go back to the 70's but so does the 747 or the C-130. You can't argue about tastes and colours, I guess :-P Dr S - How much did the set cost?

- No, the finished product will be all purple greenish black, I only did the bottom half red because of LDD's colour restrictions. ;-) - Oh that will so be a problem, the one thing keeping me from starting right away are funds :-( I only have -
Wow, that's a great review of a great set Dr S! *y* As you yourself have already noted, this has the potential to be a fantastic military MOC! With a bit of modification you can get the engines to be rounder, or perhaps do away with them completely and replace them with jet engines. *sweet* Though I can't think of a system to retract the undercarriage at the top of my head it seems like there's indeeed more than enough potential to do so. It reminds me rather of an Ilyushin Il-76, one of my favourite cargo planes. :'-)

I absolutely adore your town *wub* *wub* Too bad for me, I'd love to build an entire town in CC/modular style like you do but I have 1) no money 2) no experience in that field I love those modular creations too. I certainly hope you'll leave some space in your town for that brewery you once created 8-| No town can go without its own brand of beer, can they? Your green door tavern reminds me of an Irish pub on 'De Grote Markt' here in Antwerp's historical district

Well at the moment I'm having a go at a lifedream of mine (yes even when you're 16 you can already have them :-P :-D ) namely to build a minifig sized sub. I'm hoping to build up enough experience with this model so that I may continue building an entire fleet and perhaps even become an arms supplier of the EN :-$ So far I think I'm doing quite well. As for other things, I don't think I have actually done anything that benefits the community as a whole. Especially not something on the scale of interviews, interactive games or the founding of the EN :-/

20? yeash, as long as the money's flowing my workers will have jobs and the EN will have their hardware :-D *pirate* Yeah I know, due to the limitations in bricks and user friendliness that working with LDD implies I've decided to leave it for what t was and just modify the design while building. I forgot to mention, most of my LDD designs will probably be modified in the future. It may not seem like it but just getting this far in LDD has taken me a month already. 8- -

Welcome to Eurobricks, Have a great time *y* -
Well I've always wanted to build a minifig submarine, preferably even a fleet so I've finally started work on one. There's a progress thread about it in Lego town and trains. I've just finished designing the hull and am about to design the entire interior using LDD and my modest Lego collection. My ultimate goal is to of course order it via BL and build an entire fleet of different submarines. :-P :-D @EB, Yes I would like to see those two creations. :-)

I don't know how to take a screen photo *wacko* so I just put in a link to the picture serving as background.

Now that you mention it, I seem to have missed that. Nice sub, I hope you don't mind I use the name as well? ;-) -
Very creative and original indeed. I remember translating the story from Latin in my first year of college. I decided not to do Latin anymore in the second year. The only fun thing about it was the culture - consisting of history lessons and myths. :-$ I remember coming up with the craziest of translations (e.g. I once translated a scentence from Greek which said "Grandpa reads a book." as "Grandpa eats a book.") :-D I like how well you built it and especially the walls somehow resemble how I always pictured the labyrinth. Well done, indeed *y*

I voted for Phred for multiple reasons. He managed to not only build a very slick, cool looking, functional ship but also to incorporate vast amounts of details such as the working capstan, the anchors, the two cargo spaces, the working rudder and the sliding mortars. 8-

This contest has so many great entries that nearly made me pull out my hair out of frustration which one to pick. that's figure of speech but you get the picture about how incredibly hard it was to choose ;-) In the end I've gone for highlandcattle. The wife barging in to get her drunk, fleeing husband back did it for me. That as well as how well it's built.

Welcome to EB, mister JB! :-) Do you perhaps have pictures of the Lego Town you mentioned?
-
Why I know that Lego is all about expressing creativity and building whatever floats your boat, I've found some pics on the web that might be taking this (artistic) liberty a tad too far. Nearly maniacal. To some degree I can understand you'd want to build a concentration camp (depending on your motives that is) but making concentration camp sets is pushing the envelope too far I feel 8-

It isn't about free standing walls nor littering girl bands I'll hand you that ... But when it comes to strange, weird sets I believe it qualifies ;-)

Image removed by *vader* , the words '6 year old' disturb me >:-( falls in the same category?? Certainly disturbingly funny though

Once again, after the officer's uniform that is, I would love it if somebody could please make me another Russian navy decal. :-P Globalsecurity - Russian navy uniforms It's the third column from the left, bottom one, Daily out of the system. - Though if you can't resist making other ones as well, by all means be my guest. X-D Please :-)

No, and you sadly never will. David's been receiving packages of ordered lego and has subsequently been dismantling/demoloshing anything that has useful parts. So bye bye entry :'-( In any case, I've been working on another project for some time now that I shall unveil soon, I hope. It hasn't got anything to do with sailing ships though. :-/ ;-)

I can't help thinking you'd somehow like soccer if Denmark became European Champion as well in that field. Same with the other sports. X-D

What was the last movie you watched?
Opproperaar replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Sir, I highly recommend Shichinin no Samurai (Seven Samurai), made by Kurosawa in 1954. The movie which the Magnificent Seven is completely based on. *y* *y* *y* Wikipedia - Kurosawa's influence Your friend is right. He has heavily influenced modern day directors such as Spielberg and George Lucas. :-) Too bad he doesn't get the attention he deserves nowadays.
