Added, EDIT: Hello Bonaparte >:-)

Eh, no, it's volatile material. I just now for a fact, and that's why I mentioned it, that others DO after a hard day of painting the garage or some other part of the home.

I'm sorry, my last post I feel was a bit too unclear so I'll write one last one, I wrote the other one last night. I refer to myself as a European in a practical context. For example I am a EU-supporter (for many reasons and if you want to debate PM me and I'll happily indulge you :-P ) and as such I think of myself as first and foremost European. You do have a point that in the end, as I said so myself all divisions are purely artificial. Of course there's skin colour but how you look isn't what you are. Even so, I do feel that continental division is a tad more 'tangible' than national boundaries. Even if it was just mentality or history (IMHO I barely regard history solely on a national level) Pure theoretically, I'm a human - practically I'm European But I let none of that divide me from somebody with different nationality, skin colour and/or religion. I hope that answered your question ;-)

Well it just so happens I know it will! Cause I'm building something poor and defenceless. Dunno what yet but argh it'll be poor and defenceless I tell yee! -
As I said, I'm inclined to call myself a world citizen, a human, in the first place but since people asking me this can already derive that from the way I look I'd generally call myself a European to 'statisfy' people with an answer. That being said, I'm proud of Europe and European achievements (especially in the pro-European context) as a whole but even more so of humanity's achievements as a whole. (I like to unify :-D) I concur on your second paragraph by the way.

I've been thinking, while an impulse entry below 25 peices is more than possible, a small with less than a hundred and especially a "large" with 200 pieces seems a bit of a low estimate for brick count. For example, according to Greenhair the Armada Falgship has 280 pieces and I was planning on building a ship around that size for a big set entry. -

I thought the Surprise was such a light frigate because she was one of the older models. Constrructed in the days before the Americans, and later the French, Spanish and British increased frigate size and armament. Though I could be mistaken. If it wouldn't complicate you game too much and I don't see a reason why it would, you might add islands, sandbeches and shallows and ports to your game. Perhaps even places with sharks and reefs and all sorts of other potentially agressive-though-not-as-much-as-one-would-think marine life. *pirate* The potential for ships to run aground or rearm and repair seems needed if you're fighting fleet to fleet I feel :-P

Lighting, lightNing is something completely else though arguably more or less in the same category :-D I just got me a wonderful idea for an impulse entry! -
Do you have any idea where the project is going? Like a book or something? Or what the story will be about? *sweet*

Haha, I tend to get carried away since I feel it's not only hypocrite but outrageous to hear politicians and adults going on and on about responsibility while destroying, neglecting and/or ignoring the very world we and future generations (our kids, mind you) depend on. In the end, I feel the argument that will convince people to go green is because it's better for the wallet. not because your kids will suffer, not because we are bothered by morale, not because we feel we must but because it serves our greed. An example: I saw a documentary of a German chemist and an American architect being hired by companies on the edge of bankrupcy. They help them make profit by going green. In a few years after their visit, an establishment of the Ford motor company (which was very sceptical of all this "green hippy talk") saved many millions. - The water purification after production was now the responsibilty of plants instead of machines. - Heating and lighting were now done through huge panels by the sun - A green zone was laid out next to the factory - Production went up due to increased morale This is just a small example and it leaves us to wonder. I feel it's disgraceful it needs to come this far before we do something, that we actually need to get a buck out of it before we act, but seeing how far it's come I'm just glad we act at all, regardless the motives. Anyway, I'll shut up now, I believe I've said enough and I believe I've said what I needed to. *pirate* (PS: Al Gore's movie makes people overlook environmental problems far worse than global warming, if that even exists, is and that'w hat worries me.)

A tad silly I feel since ethnicity is frequently used as a means of labelling people into groups and select which ones are wanted and which ones not. Besides we're all humans and we all inhabit the same planet. I see no point in division. We're all the same apart from a couple of cosmetic differences. I am however, proud of being a European. And since there's little use in calling myself a world citizen, unless there was an *alien* race we could somehow converse with, I call myself first and foremost a European. If you were to prod deeper, I'm Flemish since several generations but apparently my family immigrated from France during the Middle Ages. The entire nationality issue is completely artificial, made up by us. Every country is a piece of land on the same planet and by living on it you barely produce other genes (leaving climate influence out of the debate here) than somebody else. Does living in Belgium make me any less "English" or any more "Belgian" than an Englishman? What does it matter, it serves no use in your daily life other than as an excuse of drawing lines and dividing people who are all essentially human beings.

I concur with Brickmaster, perhaps you're fed up with the man, (and I have questions about global warming too as well as questions about the sceptics of the theory) but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a point. Regardless, whether global warming is real or not (I'm leaving that precarious debate out of the matter here) it wouldn't hurt if we stopped polluting all as much and started being a bit more eco-friendly. Whether for your kids, health, the planet or whatever I think we will all benefit from a bit less using the car and a bit more our feet or a bike. I doubt Earth has a central consciousness that would think in such a manner. I believe animals to be capable of more than what we give them credit for but let's not go over the top by claiming all of nature, all of the disasters caused by Earthquakes, wind, the ocean etc. are caused and directed by a governing intelligence. Nature might have the ability to kill humans but IMHO that is rather because we live all over the planet, and as such a lot of us also live in danger zones, than that it is because nature *wants* us dead. I'm sorry but such a statement screams for a reply. I've heard people say the same thing about their way of life, in their house with a car and electrical equipment etc. But when it comes to the crunch, I'd much rather choose Earth over all that since Earth can sustain me and luxury can not. I'm much happier living like a cave-man (which doesn't even need to happen since we CAN maintain a large part of our life-style and remain eco-friendly) than being a rich person with all the luxury in the world but without a world to live on. In other words: we'd be dead. I'm surprised that barely anybody has brought up the production process of Lego. I recently heard from somebody working in a chemical company that an eco-friendly shopping bag does more harm to the environment than a normal one since so much more materials and energy is used in the production of one. I am not sure about ABS but I know soda bottles are recycled to make great sweaters that keep you nice and warm. I have some of them and can't complain. Eco-friendliness is about more than a car and recycling. It's about our entire way of life. The shampoo you use goes down the drain, as well as paint etc. It all ends up in the environment. It's the little things (which we try not to think about on the grounds of it not making such a difference) that DO make the big difference. Like using soap instead of bath gel which is less harmful to the rivers we dump our water in. That being said, I am no more better than anybody else, I try to watch out but I consume too much as the rest of the Western population. In the fight against global warming, more pressing issues such as the use of a complete 'laissez-faire' market in conjuction with an ever rising population are completely overlooked. I am not so much worried about cars as I am about fisheries and the dying out of species at an astonishing rate. Hippy or no (and I am NOT a hippy, I even regard it as an insult) taking care of our planet comes before anything else, not so much because it's a choice but because it's a NECESSITY. Without something to live on and sustain us we're dead, and to me, that ain't much of a choice. PS: I say this with the utmost respect ;-)

Great interview, though perhaps a bit short. And I really appreciate the work the ambassadors do for us. Though I wonder why they listen to us on teh areas of Town, Creator and Space as well as quality control but refuse to bring Pirates back. Ah well, luckily I can still but heavily overpriced Pirate sets on the internet :-$ *pirate*

I voted none, as the entire Pirates of the Carribean franchise was a big rip-off with lousy films in which Johnny Depp had the job of softening the blow for the public. Which I assume he did remarkebly well apparently. And Vikings (except in an historical context) do not interest me either. That dialect thing is the same in every country. Every country has its regions and provinces/states where people tend to speak slightly different or completely different. Sometimes even so much you're wondering if it's still your own language. I do not know about the U.S. but here most dialects have their own unique vocabulary (and grammar + spelling at times) used nowhere else. And now attempts are made in publishing unige dialect dictionaries. One dialect that appears to be dying out is the West-Flemish French in French-Flanders which Louis XIV (that mean brute) took from us. French and Flemish (or rather Dutch) have mixed to form a unique language now only still used by a few after 300 years. Anyway, just felt like mentioning that, a bit of history, world knowledge and such are never out of place. *sweet*

Last time (yesterday that was) I checked the progress on the 7 Provinces, keel laid in 1995, only the skeleton was finished. I'd say the Dutchmen are still the best with 13 years for a skeleton :-P. On the official website it even said original construction back in 1664 took only a year. ;-)
-
I don't mean to nitpick, but I can swear your guess was slightly different. For example you said King Sun and John Bart I believe as well as centered around instead of "it will be the center". ;-) Still, you translated it very nicely. *y* *y*

Well if the mictures are up to date there shouldn't have been more to see than the keel. What else they have done in the past 6 years would be beyond me. I can understand the plans taking some time but 6 years for merely a keel? I've visited the Batavia. I've seen the Amsterdam but haven't visited since we (yes ships are a family hobby here) find it a poor replica. The Prins Willem doesn't really attract our attention either since the hull's from steel and though only cosmetic, we tend to visit replicas (or originals mind you) made from wood. :-P I see, well I believe only one page was translated. All the other ones are in French I believe

I thought this may interest the lot of you, my father stumbled across it on the web some time ago. Apparently L'association Tourville has started work some time ago on the reconstruction of a seventeenth century French first rate, named le Jean-Bart. A 57 metre ship of 84 cannons, designed under the Sun King' (Louis XIV for the history barbarians among us) reign. Construction, taking place in the town of Gravelines on the north coast of France, commenced in 2002 and will form the heart of an historic theme park dedicated to the Sun King's navy and privateers. People and/or businesses are free to visit and/or contribute financially or help in the build of this mighty instrument of war. Link - tourville association (in French)

I can understand you've lost the interest in building but that shouldn't stop you from getting them anyway. Cause that's where LEGO's "hidden power" comes into play. You can break it all down and build something else. And since that would be entirely up to you, I'd doubt he'd have the MOC you were planning on building before you do! ;-)

Western Mafia - Conclusion

I must say I was greatly amused reading the game as I understood the rules, I've frequently played the werewolf version of this game in school. X-D . Sadly neither Western nor Romans are really my thing so I prefer from the beginning not to play. The only one I'd go for would be a Pirates related one :-P
