  1. There are a lot of details to love here, but my favorite might be "PIVOT!" on the side of the box.
  2. I'm gonna be pretty impressed if anyone here actually guesses Leaf correctly.
  3. Ah, dang it. I thought the gamer would be an easy pass for me but now that I see the detail on his shirt I kinda want it.
  4. Mosaics are actually pretty much perfectly suited to LEGO's style, but they've been pretty few and far between - and never licensed as far as I can remember. So I would very much welcome the opportunity for something a little different. Let's also remember that whatever Zebra is, it's presumably intended to bring in new fans - which means it would have to offer something significantly different from what's already being done. Adults who aren't already buying LEGO sets probably aren't going to be converted just because a "Thor but he's a Fortnite-addicted fatass now" minifig turns up.
  5. A recolored Mr. Gold named Mr. Tin.
  6. At least a year, but there are still revisions within that timeframe. I remember finding images of TLBM S2 and S18 in early February 2017; most of the characters ended up being the same as the finalized series, but there were a few changes in selection and design between those first images and the finished product. Can't say for sure at what point they were "locked in," but I'd guess around 6-8 months before they hit shelves.
  7. Oh, you are missing out if you don't know any of these characters. I mean, Dogwelder! A dude who... well, it's all there in the name. Trust me, it makes just as much sense in context. My wishlist would probably skew pretty Multiversity-influenced, so I no-joke really would want Captain Carrot in there.
  8. Honestly, from a marketing standpoint it's probably better to wait until kids are in school for pocket-money collectible toys - they're spending more time among peers to compare, trade, and influence each other.
  9. Because children are so obsessed with Batman. Next question.
  10. I was specifically picturing the Daily Planet look, green blazer or sweater vest with red bowtie, throw in a camera and 2x2 newspaper tile as accessories.
  11. What gave it away? Kidding aside, am I way off base for thinking Jimmy Olsen actually kind of has a shot? I mean, if they were to include any civilian character, he's one who a.) has never appeared in LEGO form before, b.) has an iconic outfit that's just as colorful and eye-catching as many of the superheroes, and c.) doesn't seem quite as likely to show up in a set as some other supporting characters - I could picture Alfred or Lois Lane much more easily in a comic-based set. I'm probably just rationalizing to myself here, and honestly my top preference would be a series that is 100% actual superheroes, but if a civilian showed up, he'd be my top pick.
  12. I will accept nothing less than the following from this series: Rainbow Suit Batman Superman But He's a Lion Now Lex Luthor (accessory: forty cakes) Beard Band Jimmy Olsen Fat Flash Green Arrow feat. Boxing Glove
  13. The similar-to-but-legally-distinct-from-Care-Bears rainbow panda is easily my favorite. I'll probably be getting three of that one. It's hard to tell whether the color scheme on the rainbow tile is quite the same as on this tile, but if it is I'll want to pick up multiples of that piece alone! Next on my list is the pizza suit guy. I figured this one was inevitable ever since I saw the watermelon suit, and this is everything I could have hoped for. I've been gradually accumulating parts for a neo-Paradisa build, and the Florida Lady, as I've come to think of her, will be a wonderful addition to it. The dog walker is a cute figure on her own, but obviously the main draw is the dogs themselves - the dachshund alone makes it an instant buy for me. Last but not least on my "definitely buying" list is the robot programmer, who will fit in nicely in another of my long-gestating MOCs, the modular Research Institute. Beyond those, the Blacktron-looking thing and the mountain biker are both strong maybes, pending clearer pictures.
  14. I can kinda see it happening, though personally I think the next girl-targeted fantasy theme is more likely to go in a sci-fi direction.
  15. That's the whole point and I love it. Definitely getting at least one of her; I have a soft spot for the tacky Florida retiree aesthetic.
  16. Definitely gonna need the pizza guy. And multiples of the bear. And the flamingo lady and the dog walker and the robot programmer and probably the Blacktron whatever-it-is and biker...
  17. But the '89 suit has two whole extra points on the tail of the bat logo! For some reason!
  18. Sounds like 40256 Create the World
  19. Zebra wouldn't just be a codename for D2C sets in general; there must be some unifying element to them. They're probably unrelated to Forma, since Forma's development codename was "Vector," but might share a common thread in being an adult-oriented theme with a unique building style that could be adapted to a range of subject matter. Mosaics, busts, buildable instruments/prop replicas - all seem like they could fit the bill. I'm pretty confident in saying that a theme that could cover art, music, and character-based IPs like Marvel is all but guaranteed to be of interest to me!
  20. How exactly would you do this? I mean, how do you make someone prove they're a "true passionate Batman fan" instead of a scalper? Make them take a quiz?
  21. What about them? There have been plenty. This is the first motorcycle in the Creator Expert line; it's nice to see something different.
  22. Oh wow. I put my order in just in time then!
  23. That's element #6058746, originally from the Disney Princess line; it's also appeared in some Friends and Elves sets, as well as in Earth Blue in a couple TLM2 sets. From what I've heard some of the larger stores have had it in the PaB wall.
  24. I was pretty hesitant after some of what I've read here, but I placed an order earlier today and it seems to have gone through fine. (I didn't order any licensed pieces, just a bunch of Vibrant Coral bricks and a handful of specialty pieces like food and some basic minifig parts.)
