LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
leafan replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Is this and future series confirmed to remain at the DC raised prices then? -
Nice moc. Was this story also the inspiration for the film The Ghost and the Darkness with Michael Douglas and Val Kilmer? Loved that movie.

German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs
leafan replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well I'm not the one making the assertion that AFOLs are 10% of the customer base, so actually the burden of proof would not be on me. I presumed that, because they don't state what BEAT is, and it's not even clear that that stated source is referring to the segment in which I took my initial information. That particular segment of the article states quite clearly that the data comes from internal sources - I'm not sure how much of a stretch this is. -
German Toy Fair – LEGO To Increase Focus On AFOLs
leafan replied to danth's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ok, before I reply to you @danth, how about you drop the passive agrresive tone and let me know if you've got a problem ok? Moving on... I'm neither happy nor unhappy with the figure given, since it doesn't affect me. Personally, I'd be happy if people gave adult fans a little more credit and I do believe that it's larger worldwide than expected, in terms of revenue. I think you're reading too much into my initial reply. No, I'm simply trying to stop this info being mis-represented, by comments such as: and your own: Making out like it's 10% of global revenue. According to who? I don't doubt that they have the best sales figures, but the only possible way to know the intended recipient of a purchase is to ask the person that it paying for it. They've never asked me - have they asked you? *They're guessing* based on probability and like I said, some limited-marked consumer feedback. It's an educated guess, but it's still a guess. If you took from my anecdote literally then you misunderstood. I was simply trying to show you why they have no clue who I'm buying for. Ok break it down for me. What is the solid number? So we have A) Number of sales - yes they'll have that figure (but lets say it's 10 million units for arguments sake), and B) Recipient of the sale - [insert solid math here]. = percentage figure of sales to AFOLs. No, it's not. It's percentage of sales to AFOLs. See above response. Well I'm glad you conceded that point at least. I don't know what it is in other countries and I don't have the data to base any guess on. I'm also too old to be led up the garden path. Yeah I think so. The wording would be a bit strange if not, as internal could literally mean any business. I presume that BEAT is just the data report created by the external company, NPD Group Germany. Their data is based on retail sales, but the age, gender and recipient of the sale is a guess based on the things I mentioned before; so in short, I agree it means very little. -
@Blackfalcon81 wow those armies look fantastic; a real thing of Lego beauty. Well done.

It'd be great if you could share how you got into Lego and especially Castle. What inspired you? Did you like it when you were young? Are there any future ideas in the Historical setting that we can look forward to?- 532 replies

Ok I've been - nothing new tonight. They seem to have rotated back to the standard fillers. I was hoping there would be some new pieces for February. They did have a new catalogue though, so picked up one of those (waiting for my boy to be in the photo section ).

I'd argue that the Kingdoms line is the least "kiddie" Castle theme ever produced in Lego. Doesn't mean kids can't play with it, but it's the most authentic to reality Castle line yet, making it less pandering to kids, in my opinion. Edit: I was on the wrong page and didn't realise how old the post I was replying to truly was. Eh, long day.

We simply don't know at the moment. He may have made it all up, but the guy calling him a liar was also new with only 4 posts to his name at the point of saying that (and he just happens to know someone at Lego to confirm that it's fake?). However, @Falconfan1414 has gone on record saying that @Harkonen 's leaks were fake, and he has some trust from the Eurobricks community. I'd be curious to see if @Itaria No Shintaku can chip in to see how the "leaks" line up with his expectations of a new Pirate/Castle line. Any thoughts?

I'm going to pop in the the store tonight, so I'm hoping there's a new assortment and/or catalogue to look at, but we'll see. I'd take a picture of the selection but it's always a bit dodgy doing that when you're a fully grown man with a beard and rucksack near a tower surrounded by children, so I'll skip that bit and just tell if anything cool shows up.

There is some people who like to crap on the AFOL community and their desires, but that article changes nothing, as mentioned in my previous reply on this thread. -

New LEGO Awesome Activity Book with Pirate minifigure
leafan replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Pirates
That's a very nice thing to do! -
Further to this, I've just found the DC Minifigures reduced to £2.87 each in Asda. Might be nationwide. Good price considering how new they are and the inflated RRP.
