Welcome to Eurobricks, @InterBrick! Pleased to meet you.

You can post as big as you want, as long as it's hosted elsewhere. You can click on 'Insert other media' in the bottom right hand side and select 'Insert image from URL' there. Simply post your Image location (obtained by right clicking an image and 'Copy Image Location') and then pasting that URL into the box provided. Bobs-yer-uncle. I'm unsure of there is a blocker for new members though, which may be 10 posts or something similar.

@Medzomorak - Those first 2 or 3 photos got me very excited indeed. I know it's a bit sad, but I've actually had dreams where I've gone back to my childhood, but with the mind and wallet of an adult, during a visit to Toys 'R' Us or Hamley's Toy Store and just buying all of my favourite Castle and Classic Space sets. Then I woke up before I could check out.

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
leafan replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It was picked as a "Staff Pick" on the Ideas website. Doesn't mean anything, except that the people behind the scenes like the idea.- 532 replies

@Medzomorak Encouraging words and advice, thanks. Maybe I'll call on you if I get stuck. @TeriXeri Which one? The Pirate style one or the Ladies torso?

Why do Lego catalogs have no dioramas anymore?
leafan replied to Medzomorak's topic in General LEGO Discussion
@Medzomorak - As others have mentioned, I believe it's down to showing what you actually get clearly, both so not to mislead and to better showcase the product. However, if you detach the marketing angle from viewing this, then I think the dioramas are just beautiful to look at compared to the boring standard format being used today. I think there is something to be said about presenting a set in a diorama and the imagination it fuels in kids. This happened to me and is why I still have my old catalogue 30 years later. If that kind of imagi-fuel comes at the expense of less clarity of product detail, then I think it's a price worth paying. -
@cefa It's a beast mate, in the good sense of the term. I can see that you've put a lot of work into this. Well done.

Personally, I think they're going to hit a threshold soon on Ideas that'll mean that they either increase the amount of Ideas sets produced, or increase the number of votes needed to reach the review stage (perhaps 15k instead). There just seems to be so many getting to review, which is at good levels right now, but if it increases by much, it'll only have negative consequences.

I certainly hope you stick around here @BrickJagger. I hate to see like-minded people disappear and I remember you being one of the first ones to welcome me here, so there's that too. They've been decently quick on accepting my sign-up over the weekend. Thanks for all your feedback ladies and gents. I will need to consider if it's worth making any posts over there. I wonder how open they'd be about their own situation.

You know, it took me some time to respond to this because you've hit a nerve with me; and that is that I have made *zero* progress on this idea. It took time to respond because I had to question myself about what I'm really in this for... just collecting or do I want to build? Sure, I continue tell myself that "oh that part is useful, I'll buy a cup full of those for my eventual moc", but ultimately I cannot get away from the fact that I've done nothing with them. So your innocuous question has given me a kick up the big behind, and ive decided after thought that i would at least like to try; but I'm a little stuck on how to actually start. I have the ideas, but lack the know-how and resources. I do see great renders of people's mocs in Stud.io, so maybe I'll start there. Finding your feet at the beginning of starting your own builds in daunting. So, thanks for asking lol.

Hallo Hanne. Welcome to Eurobricks! And from the Lego motherland, no less. Pleased to meet you

You're very welcome. I too am looking forward to the first views and launch of The Pirate Bay set. I got lucky at work and won a reward of £200 in vouchers that can be redeemed at various shops, including the Lego Shop, so im hoping that'll cover my purchase :)

http://www.classic-castle.com/ Has anybody that posts here ever been an active member of the above website forum? I ask because I became aware of this site when it was mentioned off-handedly in discussions here, and after taking a look, it seems to be a very interesting, useful but ultimately dead and outdated site and forum. I'm interested to hear what the perception is on what that [forum in particular] was and what it has become. I'm interested because I can see that it's all but dead, in terms of both user activity and administration, but was seemingly once a very active place focussed on a niche in the Lego community. This is relevant for me because I can see the same thing happening here in this specific sub-forum, regarding user activity and castle discussion, rather than moderation/admin. This is doubtless down to the lack of new Castle themed Lego items, but it seems a shame to go down without a fight. So, what's the consensus on classic-castle.com? Dead as a doornail? In hibernation until new Lego Castle? Have most members already migrated here? Would it be worth reaching out to the administration of that forum to make a post sending new members (and old) here instead? That would help both communities. If so, I have some ideas on how best to do that. Thoughts?

Welcome to Eurobricks, Greg @Brickander Brickumnus! It's always good to see fellow Pirate enthusiasts join our skallywag crew to journies across the Great Brick Sea. Please to meet ya me hearty! Yarrr.

Good to know, thanks mate. Looks like I have some research to do.

I remember Micro Machines fondly. Infact, I had several of the ones shown in your picture and still do have them somewhere in storage. I think they could still be popular, since toy cars are an evergreen toy, for young boys especially. Are the originals still popular and collected? I may have to dust off my old toys. I also had/have the old Sega Megadrive (Genesis in the US, I believe) cartridge game; that was so much fun! You could build you own tracks and race them with either the computer, or like me, your older brother :)

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
leafan replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I disagree. Whilst not the sole reason; votes from this thread probably helped towards the Medieval Blacksmith being in review at present, and I do believe this, and the increased amount of votes on other ideas, has been a motivating factor for other talented people to submit their ideas too. Secondarily, whether you like something or not is highly subjective, so focusing on one idea above all others would split the voter-base. It would also show favouritism. At present there is nothing stopping people supporting as many Historical ideas as they please, and I personally have supported probably 100% on the list, so filtering that down would hurt these types of ideas in general. All that said, if you only vote for one, then I'm glad you made a visit and found this index useful.- 532 replies

Welcome to Eurobricks, @k1tk4t! Children are a wonderful gateway back into Lego aren't they. I recommend picking up one of the Lego Classics brick sets such as this from Amazon AU: LEGO Classic Windows of Creativity 11004 Building Kit They come in different sizes (the one above is a medium) and themes, but all will provide you with a good base of bricks in various colours. Also, pleased to meet you mate.
