  1. Brilliantly done! Lots of very well thought out and executed functions. The Mobile Construction Vehicle (MCV) from the command & Conquer game series instantly came to mind. I'm guessing the nuclear powerplant is of the fusion variety (rather than fission)?
  2. Did not know this. It's been out of stock for some time where I live. Very glad to have bought a pair of them already. Do not miss out! Good to know. There are quite a few available around here still so I'm not that worried yet.
  3. Claas is already gone. 42056 will most likely be gone by the end of this year. Mack lives on. I'm also waiting for the new sets to step into the light while at the same time keeping my eyes on retailers and their stock of 42056es.
  4. I'm also curious if there will be new, smaller fender panels. High ET wheels would be cool as well.
  5. Hehe, sorry if boxy wasn't what you were going for. I'll try to lighten your mood by letting you know I also see a bit of Lexus IS200, which is a bit more curvy. Still I think you should be very proud of this creation!
  6. Sweet build! I realy like the body work on it. Not many boxy designs out there nowdays and I prefer boxy "80's" design on cars. Reminds me of the MB 190E. Very much like that you made it a 4-door instead of coupe. The flat six is a perfect fit as well. Masterfully done! :)
  7. I saw this on another site the other day. Happy to see you wanted to share it with us here! That truck is ace. Perfect size with very nice shapes and colours. Those black wheels together with the green bodywork is just beautiful. Wish I could build it! :)
  8. When I got back into LEGO Technic a few years ago, 42008 was the first set that I bought. One of the main reasons I bought it was because of the green/red colour combination. :) In regards to the OP, 8849 is one of the sets that I own that I got when I was a kid back in the 1980:s. I recon I have built more than 10 variations of that tractor in various colours. It was a great set to improve upon and ultimately I had it fully decked out with pneumatics including front end loader and all kinds of attachments. I've also built the b-model and I remember it being kind of a cool build. :)
  9. I walk pass a Stralis each morning when on my way to work. It is one ugly truck in my opinion. The exterior and emblems just looks a bit tacky somehow. Your model on the other hand looks really good. I'll take your LEGO version over the real one any day of the week. :) Nice work!
  10. What Igor said. Front axel looks to be too far back. The entire front wheel well is in front of the door on the real machine. I think that is what makes your model look a bit odd in comparison. Not saying it can't be an advantage when it comes to function though. :)
  11. I agree. Cool looking model! Really like the colour scheme.
  12. I want to build and own construction equipment and agricultural machinery but I can't afford nor have space for the full scale versions. :) I also believe it is a way to improve my creative abilities and helps me in my work as a mechanical engineer.
  13. Could it be that the research and development costs for the PF LEDs have largely been covered compared to PU LEDs, which is a new part? There could also be supply vs demand in work here. Due to the need to offer spare parts, the production of the PF ones might need to go on for a while longer, in turn taking space in the production line from the new PU alternative.
  14. None taken. To each their own. :) Well, like you say it's important to get proportions close enough, or else it might not even look like a tractor anymore. :) However, there ought to be quite some play room when it comes to proportions and scale. To me, it is more important to build something that has the right looks, shapes and feel rather than prioritizing getting everything 100% in scale with a real life model.
  15. Sweet build! Tractors are the best! Nice to see a more realistic take on the 3 point hitch. Many MOCs lack this feature I find. :) Sometimes I feel there is too much focus here on Eurobricks getting all the proportions just right compared to a real machine/vehicle. Why not just build something with the parts that are available and if it doesn't fit exactly right to make it proper scaled, just let it become its own machine in the lineup. For example, what if there is no Axion 955 in the real world, why not let your LEGO model fit that empty space in the lineup? Maybe CLAAS would have built the Axion 960 with a wider track if it wasn't for some regulations in the real world that we don't have to concider a this alternate LEGO Technic reality? I hope I'm making enough sense here. :)
  16. For me it is missing some key features as well as being too small in size. For example I would like to see a bucket the size of the one in the 8439 set or slightly larger, an air tank and an introduction of all black pneumatic cylinders I mentioned before. I guess I would want the future model to be representing a larger real life model than the Volvo L30 that the 42053 B-model is based on. I understand that we have had a few front-end loaders released in recent years but at the same time there's been a while since we had larger balloon tires and a medium sized bucket in an official set.
  17. @siddparkar It looks like you clearly prefer the Porsche GT3 yourself when reading your pro's and con's. If you have the money to spend, you'll have forgotten about the additional cost in comparison with the BWE in no time. Having said that, I myself, have a hard time choosing whether or not I should buy the 42056 Porsche. Since all my future MOCs will be of smaller scale than the Porsche, I'm not sure how useful it will be in my collection. The Porsche 911 is my absolute dream car. I would like to get the LEGO model of it as a base to later modify with bits and pieces from forthcoming LEGO Technic supercars of the same scale. At the same time, future models with new pieces will mean the chance for the older parts to become obsolete. For example will the old wheels fit new wheel hubs and vice versa? Also, how long will it be till we see an updated version of the LEGO Technic Porsche 911 like what we see with the Star Wars UCS models?
  18. I see. No worries. I didn't register any contradiction, I just felt that we might be talking about different things and wanted to clarify my comment. Sorry for off topic. Also, to add to the subject of bending and constructions; Bending isn't dangerous as long as it is predicted and is kept within the specificatons of what the material in the construction can handle.
  19. I just wanted to clarify that what I meant with my earlier comment was only that in reality, everything bends before it breaks/collapses.
  20. Well, it has to bend before it breaks. :)
  21. A medium sized front-end loader similar to the 8439 using pneumatics inkluding all black cylinders, manual pump and air tank. Wouldn't mind Volvo license. Also, balloon tires. That is all.
  22. For me it's the other way around. I will never buy used LEGO since then I have no idea what the pieces have been through and that thought eats away at me. With new sets I buy I know that whatever happens with them after I've opened the box, it is only because of me. If pieces fail, I can live with it since I will always know how they've been treated.
  23. Nice build! Loaders are sweet. Is that Tiberium you're moving in the first video? :)
