LegoModularFan replied to Gunman's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous MOC! My favorite parts are the Dragonslayer's Inn, the Dimo's Stable and the Statue of the Fallen Angel! Very nice roof texturing too... There’s also some NPU: my favorites are the green minifig pants -
How to Design a Modular or a Non-Modular Building?
LegoModularFan replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
Many thanks to all! Your posts are very useful, I was hopeless about more comments on this topic as there were no one who wrote for about one day and you reassured me! You’re very welcome! I really hope you’ll be able to continue making MOC’s @sonicstarlight, they’re great and I would really like to see more Then, I would like to thank you especially for responding! It’s almost finished! The windows on the rooftop look awesome! Great, I’ll see more great MOC’s soon! Thanks It looks like some of my favorite MOC’cers usually work only with real bricks, it looks like I’ll need to expand my collection...- 93 replies

[PRESS RELEASE] 21313 LEGO Ideas: Ship in a Bottle
LegoModularFan replied to VBBN's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Gnaj reviewed the Ship “on” a Bottle! It’s the best LEGO’s Ideal set ever IMO Check it out if you can’t decide if you want to buy it or not... That’s a great idea to make fit other things! My favorite is the Taxicab in a Bottle... -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
LegoModularFan replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Hey guys! There is a leaked picture of The Dockyards on Reddit! It looks amazing! Great addition to the NC! Can’t wait for the official press release What do you think about it? -
That’s so sad to see this project expired, I really like it! Since I joined to EB, I feel like a majority of the people in ideas are in a lower quality in every way (you understand that quickly when you look to the majority of the projects) and they don’t support the really good and interesting ones @sdrnet has actually an EB account, just for your information... And here are some of my favorite builders (with support gathering projects): DominikQN André Blix Delusion Keeper RobenAnne pix027 penpen2012 italovergnat (has a great Art Deco Garage @Digger of Bricks which is really under-appreciated ) Astronaut Avila vedosololego Ymarilego anthoatana Namirob oms5134 ThomasW cmortay Vincent Q (a.k.a. @Vincent Q) Brickenberg (a.k.a. @Brickenberg) OrientExpress26 (a.k.a. @Elysiumfountain) And I have a lot of favorite projects but I can’t write all of them in one post. I already wrote all of my favorite builders, please support their projects if you like Also this is a great topic idea! I really hope more people will share their favorite projects! P.S. I couldn’t write this before (my apologies, this is a bit off topic) but our nicknames are very similar with you,@LegoMonorailFan What a coincidence!

Many thanks @coghilla and @STHLM, they’re very useful! And thanks for the advice @koalayummies the part names in brickset seem more similar with those in the LDD! I hope seeing more MOC’s in near future by you, coghilla!- 93 replies

Wow, another gorgeous and inspiring MOC as always and a very interesting color choice! My favorite part is the roof. I prefer it in the second way (right to left) but there needs to be another building between Matt’s Masks and the Fishmaster IMO... You’re very good at Dutch architecture, I hope seeing more MOCs in that style by you
-
This isn’t really my style (the worn down look) but you made it great, I especially love the swings and the messiness!
-
Nice (or at least for me) this old thread is bumped/revived I take this opportunity to congratulate you @cimddwc This is incredible that even 3 and half years ago, you were a great MOC’cer! Very nice idea to make a mask shop and my favorite part is the small statue on the second floor façade! I wonder how it fits with your other modulars and the official ones...
-
You’re lucky, someone made it with real bricks! It looks very good IMO:

How to Design a Modular or a Non-Modular Building?
LegoModularFan replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks so much guys, I’m sorry for the late response @Faefrost and @Pate-keetongu, I wanted to read your messages carefully before responding! Many thanks for the suggestion! In fact I have already discovered this book but I’ve completely forgotten, so thanks for reminding it, I’ll buy it ASAP... And thanks so much for the valuable knowledge and experience you shared. Look forward to seeing your next MOC I know that’s a very small quote but I’m happy you found it interesting! Art Nouveau is one of my favorite architecture if it’s not my favorite! Your modulars are so unique and I really like the choice of pieces and the way you put to represent architectural details! I think your modulars would not have been so unique if they had been made with the modular standards Oh, aren’t those the ones you shared in your blog in a glass display? Also which museum is it, I’d like to see them in real if I go to Finland Our tastes are so similar Again someone with whom my taste is very similar! That sentence is very encouraging! That’s what I needed! Don’t know how to thank you That’s what makes your modulars unique! Keep it up Thanks a lot for writing the designing process of your modulars! You showed there were many possibilities for where and how to start, exactly where I was stuck in several projects! I can’t wait to see more inspirational buildings Looking forward to hearing from other talented MOCers!- 93 replies

What a crazy modular! That’s very unqiue, never saw a modular with so many details So many unexpected and creative part usage in new ways as always and a nice color scheme! I also like a lot the way you gave that roof shape! Do you have any interior shots?
-
Beautiful modular as always! I love all the details on the façade and especially around the door and the roof shape! Do you have any interior shots? I also wonder how it looks with the ice cream parlor and the bike shop...

How to Design a Modular or a Non-Modular Building?
LegoModularFan replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you so much @cimddwc All very useful indeed! Now it is clear that I need to start with the second floor just like two great MOCers do! Can’t wait to see your newest MOC! Thanks for the recommendations about using those specific parts in a different way! I recently tried putting some weapons, hammers and stuff like this as a window decoration and those parts look quite interesting as façade details, I want to use them in a build! Thanks again!- 93 replies

How to Design a Modular or a Non-Modular Building?
LegoModularFan replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
Millions of thanks @peedeejay! Your tactic on starting with the second floor seems to be a good idea. It also prevents you to build an irrelevant ground floor which will not fit the rest of the building... and finally I now understand why I love Casino and Tailor more- 93 replies

How to Design a Modular or a Non-Modular Building?
LegoModularFan replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks! Me too, can’t wait I hope this thread will be useful for many beginner MOCers as well as myself You’re very welcome! I was thinking you made three MOCs (Decoration Gallery, Town Hardware and Town Bed & Breakfast)... And for all the rest of your post, thank you so much! I already learned some valuable lessons and read and digest the knowledge you shared! That was a very useful post Thanks for that but I have already seen that, this thread is also on EB- 93 replies

Hey guys, I know that several people before me created similar threads but here, there are some specific people from whom I would really like to learn how they design modulars or non-modular buildings, from where they get inspiration, how do they start to design and which techniques they use to create their incredible buildings - so I mention them here. List of Modular MOC Instructions and Searching for More!
LegoModularFan replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks! Sorry, I waited a little bit before writing, I didn’t want to write a useless post... I love the color scheme from the exterior, I will perhaps play a little bit with the interior colors, they look a little bit too much like Lego Friends IMO. But this is of course not a criticism You’re very welcome! I have two questions: 1. Did you build your modular school with real bricks? If yes, could you share some photos with us? I may start to like it more 2. Are you working on other MOCs?
