Tower of the nameless seer [Avalonia]
LegoModularFan replied to T-86(swebrickLUG)'s topic in Guilds of Historica
Really great build, love the tower and the tree with its roots on its top! I really enjoy the patterns and the detailing you’ve come up with on your tower as well as your color choices; I find lime works quite well against the the yellow/BLO/orange/dark orange foliage, but to go a little more in the direction of what Grover said, mixing it with olive would really help softening it up a little and also getting a better transition to dark brown… Moreover, with lime being such a dominant color, I would also make the water look softer by replacing 1-2 layers of trans blue tiles on the top by trans clear tiles/plates. Other than that, I love the tree you’ve got on bottom left and I think the one on the right could also very much benefit from some leaf interweaving as well as a branch or two so that it looks as organic as its peer. Lastly, regarding the presentation, I personally find your photos to be a tiny bit oversaturated and “overcontrasted”, you probably enjoy the poppy colors but I really believe that going for more accurate LEGO colors would look better… If anything, you could try to work around a little bit with the depth of field if you have a camera/recent phone, it should help your presentation! All of that said, you’ve done an amazing job on the entire build, this is mostly just to keep in mind next time you work around a similar build with a similar color scheme! -
[MOC] An apple vendor rivalry
LegoModularFan replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Lovely scene you’ve got there, I’m very much digging the cobblestone technique as well as the lantern and the timbered house on the back! Moreover, I love how you used slopes and the brackets to achieve the arch, it definitely does add in a lot more detail than a simple arch piece could. Keep it up! -
Oh oops, sorry for the confusion... None of the above are my MOCs but rather just a collection of some of my favorite modulars out there, which I thought might give you some inspiration on the long run!

Hi Eurobrickers, Long time no see! I'm back with another build; my biggest one yet that was built to be a part of the Slice of Life collaboration initiated by Jackson! ~Slice of Life: Townhouse by LegoModulexFan, on Flickr https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu90AVAoilt/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== It's supposed to be a Japanese themed building with the ground floor loosely based on this beautiful building in Osaka, and the top floor on this gorgeous drawing by Angela Hao. The entire build took me roughly 9 months to finish, believe it or not, but I had to take some prolonged breaks because of my studies which means I've really only done 2.5-3 weeks of intense building and 1 more less intense, scattered around this 9 month period. Enjoy!

Hi there @CyrodiilWarrior! I myself have been into modulars for a very long time and have covered a big amount that's done before 2019 in the topic below, feel free to check it out if you feel like doing some browsing. A majority of the MOCs below will be 32x32 of course, but I'm sure you can spot quite a few 16x32 ones as well! Cheers!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
LegoModularFan replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
^This, the jazz club building seems to have some interesting techniques at the very least but the color choices are quite weird and the pizzeria building looks very undetailed for an average modular… Big disappointment for me at first sight, also with the price tag it has, I’m excited about that double bass mold nevertheless. -
Haha, really great work on the character designs, the PU is truly spot on! Love that Steamcopter as well, simple yet effective.

This looks really pretty Simon, I love that hideout, the waterfall with that cockpit and the way it transitions into the the stream and the use of tooth pieces for the trees! Great use of colors as well, I personally would have also added some small patches of yellowish green onto the lime since I love the way those two colors complement each other. Great work overall!

[MOC] The Enchanted Pavilion of the Bunny Queen
LegoModularFan replied to LegoModularFan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thank you so much everyone! -
It’s definitely been worth the wait, I love this so much Pau! The two buildings complement each other very nicely color wise and architecturally speaking. The different types of vegetation throughout add a charm to the whole build as well as the detailed interior!

Hello everyone, Here’s my first completed MOC that I’m only getting around sharing here, a small collaborative build that I have completed with the talented builder Exluse in the course of a couple of hours. Hope you enjoy! And here’s a close-up of the cobblestone and the foliage for those interested: Hope you enjoy!

Hello everyone, Here’s my second completed fantasy/castle themed build that had all started with me wanting to experiment with an oval footprint with the Dark Bluish Gray road signs, but it turned out to be very time consuming to try to fill all the gaps inside the frame, especially with my limited parts collection in magenta… Overall, I’m quite happy with the way it turned out having had a lot of doubts on the way, and also by the fact that I’ll now be able to move on to bigger things. Hope you guys enjoy!

I remember seeing this on Flickr earlier this week, what a phenomenal layout! I especially love the texturing on the farmhouses, the foliage throughout the build (especially those vines and the seaweed tree!) and the corner with the rusty abandoned cars! I'm even more impressed by the consistency of the details throughout this farm, builds in such huge scales often tend to lose in detail which is most definitely not the case here... Chapeau.

Fantastic work as always, huge fan of the architecture, your snotwork and the bush arch especially (I'm assuming it's a combo of Travis bricks and a flex tube)! The way you made use of white to highlight the gables and the detailing around the windows on top of the great sand green, sand blue and red combo (which surprisingly works extremely well) is really pleasing to the eye! If I had one thing to nitpick, it would be about the integration of the masonry bricks on the sand green building, especially in the very middle. Here's an example to how it can be blended better by Ralf Langer, it's very simple yet extremely effective in my opinion: 3 by Ralf Langer, on Flickr Phenomenal collection of buildings overall though, definitely very much reminiscent of Italy. Would love to go and have a pizza there minifigurized!

Sounds extremely exciting to me, always wanted to see an official art gallery modular! Ooh, this could be really interesting! Are we finally getting reddish brown crowns? Summer time by jarekwally, on Flickr -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I’m back, long time no see... I’m not in love with what I’m able to see for now, definitely liked the Bookshop more but it certainly looks quite interesting! I really like that they included two narrower buildings in different colors and the use of the splat gears as bushes is quite clever indeed! It looks like a nice parts pack as well, looking forward to seeing some photos in higher resolution... -
I've been waiting this for 3 years! So glad to see finally your attempt at Art Nouveau (which is quite a great one to be honest ). Brilliant SNOTting as always, the right part and the bay window on the left especially look Art Nouveauish! Some great and clever configurations with flex tubes, arches, and Elves pieces seem to be the way for Art Nouveau indeed. Keep up the great work and keep the Art Nouveau's coming!

Amazing build as always, the window arch with the cheeses, the printed Orient Express arch and the wands on their sprue turned out great! I especially love the tree with the whips, the stone path and the flowers on the bushes! Even though I like the clean look of the border, I would have gone for something less blocky but that said, I like how there’s no textures on it. Keep up the great work!

Great build Pau! Nice to see you try your hands at other themes! It would be great to see some tiling, especially since you did some great ones before! Supported

Wow, this is really impressive! This should definitely make one reconsider about buying CG if they didn’t already buy it... Beautiful architectural style, some great SNOTting on that facade! Brilliant part usages as well, I love the spoons, roller skates and all the Technic parts! And from what I can see, there seems to be even a complete interior! I especially love the way you’ve built the dormer windows and the roof itself built with the newish 1x1 double slopes. I’m not the hugest fan of the color scheme but there was of course nothing you could do août it as the initial color scheme of the CG is already trash... Keep up the great work! I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t possible for Lukasz to build it symmetrical with all the part limits... And I personally see as if there were 3 separate buildings, the two dark orange buildings being separated with the quarter tiles. Haha, I would instead take it apart in a heartbeat, I personally find this so much better architecture, techniques and NPU wise... Everyone has their taste I guess! At least having the instructions and the few extra parts to build it when you get bored of the Garage wouldn’t hurt...

Great and clean build indeed, early Derfel Cadarn inspiration is visible indeed! The Tudor and the foliage are both nicely done! I also see some similarities with Snyder brothers work, were you inspired from them? Keep it up!
