  1. Same here too. I was browsing an art site (I can't remember the name) for some research and I can't believe they would consider a mess of a smashed up clock as art. Still, I would guess what you saw was way worse.
  2. I've recently realized that my entry's resolution is way larger than the rules specified. So yeah, I've edited it and it's now on a reduced size of 1000x563. Now I just hope that I'm still in.
  3. Arrgh Tomastos sir, it's been months we're in the sea and still no sign of that blasted landlubber of a creature! And we're scurvified!!!!! Yes indeed Jacker my boy!....The cap'n's gone loony! Me heard that every night he does the blabblin', growlin' and even did the unusual chucklin' about that creature all by himself at his quarters! In dawn he does his eatin' of meals and be at the mast with his spyglass and he'll be up there for hours until dusk!!!! And what's worse.....he only thinks it's been days!!!!!!!!! We've been here for NINE months!!!!! What be this curse?! That be some unhealthy obsessionin' there sir! It's....it's um....unhealthy! Say again...what's exactly is the creature the cap'n wanted us to hunt? Me ears still be having a hard time believing this preposterousity. Well, it'll be soundin' preposterous indeed! But the cap'n was desperately sure that it's called the *mocking tone* "X-mas raffle manatee" *mocking tone*. I be meanin' seriously?! Who would believe that! I've never heard of that for sure! The other boys be doubtin' this too! There's no such thing as that creature! It's all in his mind! It's all a fairytale that he made up!!!!! If we don't find this soon I will be skipping on him and that's right, I'll be doing it! And.... Nerster! what's all this running hubbub?! You be lookin' terrible! It's the cap'n! He be going ballistics. I've just did the eavesdroppin' in him and it be horrifyin'! Me mind! It's so hard to fathom but to me surprise it's also easy to fathom.... Go on then Nerster! Don't be keepin' us fellas waitin'! Alright Tomastos sir! The cap'n....he want to commit mutiny against us! it's- *Both* What?!!!!!!! Yes, you heard it. The cap'n has truly gone loony! He be thinkin' that it's ironic as it's a mutiny caused by a search of that beast! The true irony is that the cap'n be doing the deed against his crew when it usually be the opposite! Also, he somehow be knowing of the gossip of us saying that there's no such thing as that infernal creature and he be deranged, obsessed and should be giving up on that expedition. This be no expedition! This be a wild goose chase!!!! I be betting me lucky sock that the cap'n have delusions about us wanting to remove him from the chain of command. Yes Tomastos sir, he does have that. What worse is I be hearing him laughing a maddening laugh only a deranged and mentally unsound cap'n would do after writing at his log and be talking aloud to himself. You can even be hearing it right now, that be what the terrible noise is. It be very disturbing to me spine. I be hearing it all right. Disturbing indeed!!! Hmmpuffe! And about removing the cap'n from the chain of command. Hmmm......Well, this be interesting. Most of us just want to be skipping on him. Why didn't we be thinking of this earlier!!!! It be time for us crew to do this! We be taking this no more! The cap'n should be careful on what he be wishing for....Gather the rest of our boys! We will be showing him what true mutiny taste like! Arrrghh!!!!!! Hmmmpuffe!!!!! Both Jacker and Nerster : Aye sir!!! Arrrghhhh!!!!!!!!! (I've re-edited this to fit the story more) Well. I hope you don't mind me having a little fun with this
  4. Agreed. There was a time that I was really into Tiny Turbos and I still am. The thing that I really like about it was that it give a different perspective in racing other than official races that the City theme and Speed Champions gives or your typical cops and robber chase that city also provides. Tiny Turbos instead, provide the aspect of illegal races or just racers wreaking havoc. It'll be really cool if this film gives this vibe again but in minifig-scale!
  5. These looks real good! They do really make me get enthusiastic about the CMF series. The highlight and favs are the Slime Monster, The Rook, Spooky Doll, Fairytale Cat, the Mascot and Lady Justice. They're amazing! More than those mentioned above really do intrigue me in some way, however not so much for the Art Restorer and the Carnival Baker though. Just my two cents. I also wanted to add (since I did not have the chance to say it then) that I do quite dig Series L too. They're really great figures too! That Calaca is really an awesome highlight for me.
  6. To be fair and I'm sure this could be an obvious fact, despite Lloyd defeating Garmadon at the end of Hunted, I'm sure that there are stuffs that definitely aren't resolved yet. With the depth of Lloyd and Garmadon go through in The Final Battle as enemies, there should be more going on even after Hunted.
  7. Actually, I think I would rate the same too for the same reason you said. The Garmadon City invasion is indeed pretty epic there. Though I actually do like the childish aspect of Batman. It's pretty radical. But the overall tone of the movie, not really my cup of tea.
  8. Yes indeed, considering how Mr. E and Ultra Violet looks while wearing the Oni Masks show that there's great potential on how possibly insanely cool and interesting the Oni could look other than being Garmadon-esque. Now that I think of this more, I don't think Mystake was wearing any armor when she was in her Oni form. So maybe Oni armory might heavily compensate on how bland the Oni could look? But, yeah, on the other hand, considering the Oni Mask embodies the three Oni warlords, it's indeed a very high possibility that all the insane design goes to the big bad. Though the generals should also stand out in term of design too.
  9. Although I do wish that Legacy would have a unique story, however I don't think that would fit the Oni. From the end of Hunted it seems that they're portrayed as the big threat. So having them just to be in the guise of the previous villains just doesn't feel right. They deserved to be unique villains in a new wave of sets which I hope that the '19 summer sets will be. Of course if the reality turns out to be very different, I'll accept it.
  10. I'm really loving these new Brickheadz. Obviously one of the reasons is because they're not licensed. But aside from that they really looks good. My fav is definitely the Birthday Clown. This year's seasonal Brickheadz has been getting me. But 2019's line-up is really making me tempted to actually start a collection on them (seasonal-wise) Though yeah, I'll miss the vignettes sets too. They're pretty nice. I did actually pick some up.
  11. Best theme(s). Well, although I have to pick one, this time I would have say that it have to be all three of Ninjago, Elves and Friends. It's actually pretty much these that gave me quite some great memorable moments for 2018. It's also the first for me to explore the world of Elves and Friends. Ninjago. The sets and minifigures for both waves were pretty dope! I've bought all the S.O.G. sets (excluding spinjitzu masters) and building/experiencing them with also following and anticipating both seasons, I really have a good blast with that theme. For Elves, I've been digging the sets for quite some time, and so, around a few months ago, I somehow decided to check the media out. (Well, it was on the recommended part of Youtube and I've been awake for nearly twenty-three hours at the time, dying to sleep, so yeah, why not check it out). Despite anticipating some cringeworthy stuff, I actually find it not too bad and as a result, I was drawn into the webisodes. As for Friends, it was actually my brother who started buying them while I was buying some S.O.G. sets and seeing how interesting those sets looks really adds to the memorable moments (I've grown to love the 2018 sets). Eventually I decided to check the media out too and it wasn't too bad either. Well, I still have to adjust my frame of mind to get used to it but it wasn't hard and I did enjoy it. And some honorable mentions that I'll have to add are Creator Expert and Minecraft. The Downtown Diner and the Roller Coaster is one of those that's mindblowing. The diner is just 50s goodness there! And the Roller Coaster is really cool too. The Pirate Roller Coaster from 3-in-1 which makes it two roller coaster this year also do makes the whole thing better! Now, I'm not really that interested in licensed themes but I really do like how TLG did Minecraft. The stop motion media (especially the 2018 ones) really did appeal the theme to me. I'm still quite interested and fascinated to see how it'll look when you combine the sets to form the world of Minecraft in Lego. Best Minifigure(s) The Sons of Garmadon generals. When they were leaked around late 2017, I was pretty stoked with how stunning their prints are. The level of detail is quite amazing. But if I have to pick one out of all including the honorable mentions, it'll have to be the Four-armed Mr. E wearing the Mask of Vengeance. I can't help but to add some honorable mentions too hehe. S.O.G. Lloyd and Hunted's Dragon Master/Teen Wu are stuffs that really strikes out. I really love how different types of green is used on Lloyd gi and the story of Wu and the Dragon Armor is one of the stuff that really highlights season 9 of Ninjago. Gonna add the Children of Thanos/the Black Order from Avengers: Infinity War too. They (their Lego self) have fascinated me since the set reveals for the film. Best Set(s) I must add the boom this time. I can't really pick one, there are just a lot of very cool sets this year. But the crowns would have to go to The S.O.G. sets (excluding spinjitzu masters), (Five) Hunted sets and The Downtown Diner Modular. The S.O.G. and Hunted sets looks AMAZING as a collection. (I've completed the S.O.G. sets (excluding spinjitzu masters) and I've seen Hunted in a certified Lego store). And as I've said, the Downtown Diner is just 50s goodness there. The Honorable Mentions because I really do like them too! - 41340 Friendship House, 41347, Heartlake City Resort, 41195 Emily & Noctura's Showdown and 31084 Pirate Roller Coaster. And...I forgot to add the 10263 Winter Village Fire Station. I wasn't feeling it seeing that set through the screen. However when I actually saw it in real life (a certified Lego store has put that set on display), I just dig it big time! Worst Theme, Minifigure/Figure and set. Not much I can say about this so it'll be short. Worst Theme - Brickheadz. BUT....due to seeing some cool mocs on them plus the additions of the Seasonal Brickheadz and Go-Brick-Me, I'm opening up to them. However, I still won't be a big fan of the licensed aspect of it. Worst Minifigure/Figure - I don't think i have any for Minifigures, but as for Figures it would have to be 75535 Han Solo. I never liked CCBS sets with human heads in general. Though I can't argue to the fact that they may make some good parts packs. Worst Set - This aspect is too broad for me so I'm just going to go from an angle of what I plan on collecting. And it'll have to be the 70919 Justice League Anniversary Party. I can't really think on where does that fit in TLBM Collection if I were to display it....Probably very separately and I might need the TLBM CMF series to make that set into something. Maybe the same could be said to the Friends Bedroom sets and Ninjago's Spinjitzu Masters but for some reason I'm okay with those. Most anticipated for 2019. The Lego Movie 2 and Ninjago Legacy. For the TLM2, most of the post-apocalyptic sets is really dope and sets like the Systar Starship and the Rexplorer really did blew my mind. The Rexplorer just gives me a combination vibes of previous lego themes including Agents. As for Ninjago Legacy, well, I'm a fan of the theme, so of course it'll be anticipated! But I'll say, during the first time of hearing the remakes, I was kinda hoping it not to be true, as personally due to it's remake nature, it messes up how I envision my collection is going to be. Even seeing the leaked images depiste being mind-blown by the improvements, I'm still not feeling it either. However, as better pictures being revealed I eventually open up to like them and start to accept this line/wave. And I'll say too that I'm glad the remakes does have unique stuff that makes this different such as the new Ninja gi(s). To me it shows that it isn't necessary for these sets to be just a replacement or an update for their previous counterparts/iterations which is the one thing that I dread. I can just collect them and have this line as a separate unique line-up. And I'll hope the upcoming media does reinforce this. And I'll definitely be looking forward to the summer content for Ninjago. Really interested to see what the conclusion to the arc (and the Oni too!) and how the sets would correspond with it. Ironically I'll have to add Brickheads too. I just saw the 2019 seasonal line-up and boy! I'm impressed. These new sets really makes me quite tempted to collect them. But even if I do enter Brickheads I still won't be getting the licensed characters because as I've mentioned, I'm not a big fan of those and they're the reason I did not like Brickheadz in the first place. Everything metioned above is just my thoughts and two cents!
  12. Well......I'm not really feeling it despite not being a Modular collector. The Downtown Diner and the Assembly Square was literally mindblowing that I was and still be quite tempted to redirect from my plans and go for them. Even the Brick Bank really grow on me that it became my third favorite aside from the two. This time, it doesn't hit the spot. Maybe this would have to do with us having higher expectations with each past modular being introduced haha? But hey, me and my brother might have different thoughts when it grows on us or if he decide to grab that set and check how it is in real life. But I'll have to admit, I really like the garage, with the gas station and it's skylight roof, it's actually pretty cool. And the interiors is quite nice too. But for now, the upper floors won't get me, though maybe I can't be blaming since the actual architecture is probably in that way. I'm sure a ton of work is put into this and I'll give credit to that! Most likely it'll definitely grow on me hehe! Now that I've seen (as I'm typing my thoughts) how it complements with the Downtown Diner and the Assembly Square well at the back of the box, I'm pretty excited to see how all the Modulars looks together with this addition! Well! It's actually beginning to grow on me and my brother! And now....sold! (You could say that this is some sort of edit.) Since the Modular discussion thread is closed, I'll say, it was interesting and quite fun lurking around and seeing the speculations/discussion about this!
  13. Took a look again and seeing the top "flaps", yeah, it does checks out with it's counterpart from 7450 Epic Dragon Battle Set. However, I'm not sure on how the "fangs" tell that as it's angled in a way that it look like a boar. At least in my eyes. Also, there should be some purple to the Overlord and Chen too if there is more colors.
  14. It's always a magical night when Santa's Giga Toy-O-Matic Co.'s delivering presents and goodwill.... Special thanks to @ExeSandbox for his CGI prowess! The builds and creative directions was mine, but the rendering, effects and compositing was done by him. And thanks to CopMike for extending the deadline and hosting this raffle too! This wouldn't have happened without the both of you!
  15. I wasn't expecting to be impressed by the Ultra Dragon but after taking a look, holy! I am STOKED! Man, it really seems much bigger than it's predecessor. An interesting and awesome update. The second thing that came to my head is, funnily, I wonder what's will happen if the Morro dragon dare take on this behemoth of a dragon.
  16. A polybag for Legacy has been leaked. Looks like they're doing a scaled down Flame the fire dragon. Interesting... (at least to me, as there was the mini fire elemental dragon for skybound's polybag.)
  17. Just some very obvious observation from me here and you guys probably have discussed about it already, I'm noticing that maybe TLG might be somewhat integrating racers in the Technic line since the Power Racers Crashers are straignt-up brought back in the form of 42072 WHACK! and 42073 BASH! Maybe TLG didn't want to take some risk of re-opening a discontinued theme and instead, try to subtly add some aspects? Not trying to defend the set, just again, some observation.
  18. Yup yup, I would second most of the comments, this should be fun! Here's to getting enough to do it.
  19. Sure thing! I've recently been checking out and learning on what castle sets are there in those times (70s - 90s) and have grown quite a good interest in them, also even decided to grab the Dragon Master's Fire Breathing Fortress from 1993! So yeah, why not! And well, I guess It's time for me to learn up and check out stuff like Knights Kingdom I & II and Castle 2007/2013 more too
  20. Hopefully you don't mind me stealing the spotlight here 1HY normally means 1st half year which is around the times of sets that's released before summer. If I'm not mistaken, it's also known as the winter waves but probably 1HY also covers spring releases too. From summer onwards it'll be 2HY as in 2nd half year which will be covering the summer waves and/or autumn releases Hope this helps!.
  21. I, too, do that in a similar way. However it was bag by bag, which to think of it now, might not be that much different from sorting. Oh well, I'll do that for my subsequent big sets and see what I'll think about that. On the other hand, Would it be a pain building even bigger sets like Ninjago City or Joker Manor that way as they are quite large? Could be a really interesting experience though haha! To your point, yeah, I definitely agree. I never actually see the need for sorting tubs unless it's for mocs. I normally find building sets from a pile to be part of the building experience. Of course, that's just our preference whereas others do have their own.
  22. You must've put out a lot of work into this! They look quite stunningly amazing, it's quite professionally made and masterpieces indeed! This just screams heavy-duty awesomeness there.
  23. Boy, the boxes of the sets is really getting me. The artwork is really good. Glad to know that the original angular swirl design is back! I may have to rethink on my original thoughts about most of the sets. They certainly look way better now! However, ultimately, I'm not sure I would want grab them so soon as TLM2 sets are quite the killer and also the summer sets for 2019 Ninjago might get me way more when they're revealed. It'll all have to depend.
  24. Wow, I guess I'll have to add the Storm Glider to list of Improved sets. That jet did really get an insane upgrade! I'm kinda being torn apart now with all the amazing sets being leaked.
