  1. Whew! I've actually forgotten about that fact until you mentioned it again. While I don't do online shopping, I do browse Bricklink sometimes checking if it's possible to get some CCBS parts and after comparing prices, realized that it's much more worth it getting the actual sets that the parts belong to.
  2. Seems to be a throwback to both. And also a throwback to its wisp-like form too with its ghost legs piece. I think that topic is for another thread but yeah, it's a pleasant surprise to see the golden armor in the new season. And coming back to topic, looks like it's coming to a full circle with the Legacy sets if the Ninjas is going to reforge the armor back into presumably the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu.
  3. Well, for people like me, I don't do online shopping. I always hunt at retail or third-party dealers. And I'm pretty sure not everyone has the privilege of using Bricklink.
  4. You kinda forgot the fact that there are people who do buy sets just for the parts.
  5. Like MAB said, the minifigures is integral to these types of sets. However, in the case of Luke & Leia set, the minifigures doesn't mean much to me. I would buy it for the parts. This example is also something that icm quite nicely put too. To each their own I guess
  6. Sweet! Looking forward to seeing them in my mailbox! Thanks Copmike!
  7. Interesting.....Based on the set list, we're getting an Ice and Fire theme again? But with "Desert Glider" it might seem more than that. I hope. Looking forward to know more! Also an interesting note, the leaks called 70678 "The Forgotten Emperor Castle while Nuremberg's set list now calls it a Fortress in the ice.
  8. I'm definitely intrigued with this! That picture of two kids have never crossed my mind as the new theme until I saw this thread. Looking forward to see more! And like many or some, I definitely welcome a new in-house/original theme too
  9. While yes, the minifigures are accessories to the sets, but you also have to see that another factor for the sets other than just "trashy builds" - It's not like other toys where you're stuck with that build. You can still be creative and build something different with it thus having different experience and with star wars sets for example, it's fans could experience it too. Although Original themes do give a unique LEGO feeling, ultimately it's still the bricks that makes LEGO, y'know...LEGO. In my younger days, when me and my brother were kids a few years back. There's no way the big sets could be afforded so we normally get the smaller ones be it licensed or not. And for years we got quite creative with what we have and we have quite the fun there. So there's no way we can be limited to what build a set provides unless we choose to.
  10. Y'know, after reading the replies and some thinking, I don't think I want to dabble into this topic (hence the strikethrough of my post pages back). I feel Aanchir do make a good point on the toxicity there and it's kinda an eye opener for me (so...I guess thanks for that!). So after re-thinking, I'll take back what I mostly said on that post. Wizarding World proved that it could provide awesome minifigures with its Hogwarts D2C and Bricktober. And Star Wars has been providing awesome minifigures regardless if some sets is mediocre. So to be honest, I am quite fine with them staying. While Jurrasic World is not my cup of tea and I don't find the minifigures interesting and even prefer Dino Attack and Dino 2012, I must and have to understand that there are certain people who are fans of the franchise and Lego too. Wishing that theme away might be unfair to them. Now trying to look at realism here, there has to be a reason that certain themes got axed and I'm certain it's a business decision as TLG is a company. I'll always wish for certain themes to return but now, I don't think I'll see as something should be discontinued for it to happen. If things get discontinued, bummer to those who liked it and maybe good to those who thinks that there are benefits. It is what it is, Both side of the coin. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm fine with whichever way thing goes. As I said, I'll always have my preference but I'll also have to see things from a realistic and neutral point of view too. So...I'll guess I'll say we'll see what goes in the future..
  11. Hmmm.....then I wonder how would an expert-scale Trion Nemesis look? That would be interesting! I guess I'll have to depend on the racing vehicles of City's Great Vehicles subtheme for racer-like stuffs. They actually do give the racers vibe in some manner.
  12. I'm pretty Ok with Minecraft there. The world building aspect of how the sets could look when combined pretty much fascinate me which does make me consider grabbing them. And brickheadz coming out with seasonal stuffs does draws me, so I will give it a chance here. Well and since this thread is about which theme we wish to discontinue....I would nuke Wizarding World and Jurassic Park/World. Obviously because they're not my cup of tea and I know that's kinda being selfish or something. So now looking from a neutral view, we know that's not going to happen and so... oh well. On the other hand, Wizarding world has great minifigures so, I might spare that in my mind (though I'll still wish they didn't touch CMFs.). But my stance still stands for Jurassic Park/World. I'm pretty cool with Star Wars being discontinued if it does result in original space themes. In the recent years, the only sets that draws me is Rebels. However, like Wizarding World, it does has dope Minifigures, so I'm also cool with it staying. Just my two super-biased cents.
  13. I don't know, it does sounds quite unlikely, but definitely awesome if that does happens!
  14. Though I will say that a better job could've been done. The 2016 and 2017 accessory pack had much better printing. Still, the Oni is pretty darn cool! Just wish a bit more was done to them. Oh well
  15. Yeah, after watching the episodes, I'm actually pretty cool with how it is now. Legacy vs. Oni does sit pretty well. But yeah, definitely will have to agree on what Dr.Cogg said about the Oni pack.
  16. Just saw both episodes too, gotta say - That intro is just awesome! Never expected that video (We are Ninjago) to be it. Possibly my favorite out of all the seasons! Definitely eager for the next to air! Y'know, that's a really good question there.
  17. Hey, that does make sense. Just a thought - would it be a way radical departure if City used the "streetburners" idea for its next police subtheme? Since the racers' tiny turbos' police and racers is quite different from the usual blue cops and red crooks vehicles.
  18. Hey there! and...Wow, that is dope! You somehow gave the Black Knight a menacing feel there. I always find the Gates of Mordor an interesting set, so it's a cool inspiration! A teensy suggestion here (if you don't mind) would be to add some little reds and blues. The Black Knight shields would be perfect for that. Just to give a little more Black Knight vibes Anyway, definitely a cool update to the outpost there!
  19. I think, like I said, I'm cool with having an racers umbrella theme but I'm also fine with how it is now. However, again, like I said, if I had to choose, personally, I would rather had more In-house theme than a restructuring to have another umbrella theme. Again I'm cool with both. That said, still, if racers do return anyway, I would wish to have the illegal street racing aspect of tiny turbos reincorporated into minifig scale vehicles like speed champions. Kinda why I loved tiny turbos in the first place. And maybe to fit in the umbrella theme into this, there could be Racers - Speed Champions & Racers - Streetburners. However, I'm not sure whether this would be a good idea as would it clash with Speed Champions or City Police? Still, one can dream, right?
  20. Looks like someone who's just stuck knee-deep in the snow and requires a fellow to help her get out.... I'm speechlessly amused.
  21. Don't you think that's being a tad unrealistic? Well, those set's might looks good back then, but if you think about how sets have changed over the years in terms of, building techniques and aesthetics, the sets from racers do seems obsolete comparatively. These old themes needs to evolve and change. Which is why we have Speed Champions, stuffs in Technic and in City for example. I love racers, they're cool for its time but still, there's a reason it got gutted. To think of it more, why would LEGO want to reverse their course if the racers aspect is already so integrated with the other themes. And personally, I would prefer having more actual Original themes than effort, time and resource spent for a Racers banner.
  22. The other differences I've spotted is the fenders colors. But I've never seen the set in person so I couldn't tell if both fenders pieces are actually in different colors or it's just the packaging. But, yeah, personally, I would prefer the official Racer banner version.
  23. That's also what I have observed when I was lurking at the Technic 2019's Porche 911 discussion. It seems to be more prominent (the way I see it) in Technic with Bash and Whack which is basically a small return of crashers and stuff like the (2019) Porche 911 and Stingray Corvette, 2016's Drag Racer or even the RC racers for example. And in City too with the race vehicles. Although I think that the Racers umbrella theme might be cool, I'm actually pretty fine with how it is now. *I just wish there could be mini-fig scale theme of the illegal racing tiny turbos, of course with the improved techniques of Speed Champions..cough....cough....*
  24. Agreed. Although I don't collect Speed Champions, I'll admit that it's a pretty cool theme. And would be cooler indeed if it's under the Racers banner. Racers did have a dip in licensed stuffs too. It should be possible for licensed cars like speed champions and illegal racing stuff and etc to coexist there. I mean city already had a racing subline.
  25. I don't think I have anything that's legit-ly rare, so the best I've got is 1993's Dragon Knight's 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress which is also the oldest set I've got. Can be quite rare when trying to find them at third-party dealers if you don't buy stuff online.
