To be fair, the Temple of Resurrection was pretty medieval. Take it out of the biker gang context (and remove Mr. E and Chopper Maroon) and you could easily see it as a standard Japanese-style Temple from a couple of thousand years ago.

Speaking of Newt's suitcase, did anyone else notice that the press release said that a Bowtruckle was included in addition to the other beasts? Well, this confused me, because I hadnMt seen anything like that, so I checked out the images again. Newt is holding one of those standard green stem pieces, the kind that show up everywhere in Minecraft and Friends. Apparently that is supposed to be a 'bowtruckle'. Laaaaaaame. They do not get to throw one extra piece in to a set and call it another Beast. As far as I'm concerned, the set only has four.

Jurassic World 2018 - Rumors and Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yep. That's why I combined the Jurassic Park Raptor Chase and Stygimoloch Breakout with Lockwood Estate. Built them all together on a baseplate - with additions of my own - into one big dinosaur facility.- 1,290 replies

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Depends on how hard they're trying to promote the movie. It too kind about two months for the Lego Batman Movie to get its second trailer, if memory serves. But the Ninjago Movie got its second in about two weeks. (Granted, it was really just a rehash of the first, but that's the Ninjago Movie's problem more than anything.) -
The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion

I've discussed this before; Emmet does not have the same design. The idea here is, it's been five years; things have changed. And the in-universe Emmet is still using the same parts for his body. The only way minifigures can have that kind of longevity is if very good care is taken of them - and Finn isn't his father, that's not his style. So now Emmet has some very clear signs of wear and tear - and we see this in the trailer; his printing may have once been how it was in the first movie, but it's scuffed and scratched and bits of the paint have rubbed off. Do you really think this won't carry over into the sets? No, I guarantee you, we'll get a new version of Emmet complete with the 'wear and tear'. And that's assuming that at no point in the movie does he get a new outfit. Which is entirely possible, all things considered. -
Your loss. But there wasn't actually an apocalypse; the core four and Wu all got trapped in an alternate dimension and are coming into cònflict with the Dragon Hunters, who seem to be a race of scavengers that never established a society if their own and have been relying on the leavings of the ONI. Also their entire culture is based around imprisoning dragons and taking advantage of their elemental abilities. Though, cosdering how Ninjago looks under Harumi and Garmadon's reign, 'no apocalypse' might be a bit of a foregone conclusion.

Yep, I heard. This is so cool. I really hope that they roll this out worldwide soon - I've always wanted a totally unique sigfig. Bit of a bummer that they're apparently only doing white torsos with yellow hands, and no faces or legs, but we gotta start somewhere, right? Hopefully they'll include variety sooner or later.

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Alright! I'm thinking there'll be two 'preliminary' sets that'll be revealed early, like with the Batmobile and Lowrider for the Batman Movie. The first will be the off-road Scrap Speeder that we saw Wyldstyle and Emmet constructing as they run from Sweet Mayhem in the trailer. Includes Emmet, Wyldstyle with her hood up, and possibly the small version of Unikitty, as well as a couple of post-apocalyptic bandits, possibly with their own, small, vehicle. Maybe one of those cyborgs we saw when Emmet got coffee. Price: somewhere around 80 AUD. The second will be Sweet Mayhem's Space Pod, and the main build will be Sweet Mayhem's ship, of course. I'd like to say that they won't scale it down at all for the brick-built version and will give us a perfectly movie-accurate version with all that wonderful greebling and the hot air balloon pieces in white used as plating. That would probably make a $60 or $70 AUD set, depending on how much that mandates. Also includes Sweet Mayhem, Wyldstyle with her hood down, and Batman, plus a sheet of decals to fuel Sweet Mayhem's sticker gun. (Sorry about AUD pricing, I'm not familiar with USD prices.) -
Jurassic World 2018 - Rumors and Discussion

Get the Carnotaurus and hold off for the T-Rex Transport. In addition to the reasons presented (and the fact that there is a lot more potential with Normal System parts than there is with those grotesque Juniors parts); those sets have the minifigures of Franklin and Zia exclusive to them. And since they're both supposed to be members of the Dinosaur Protection group that Claire founded, it would be good to have them both together. I lament the fact that I only have the budget for one . . .- 1,290 replies

Oh yeah, the Departed Realm. We never actually saw that, so I forgot. And Realm of Madness? Is that what it's officially called?

Ninjago, at this point, is a tentpole of Lego's products, right up there with the likes of Star Wars and Super Heroes. And it's already on Netflix; seasons 1 and 3-6 (but not 2, for some reason) are all available, as well as the pilot episodes. I would like to see a reboot at some point, though. Ninjago is starting to reach the point where it's story and lore I see a massive, sprawling mess. A reboot with a storyline that's more planned out in advance, like what we've been seeing with SOG and Hunted, would be gorgeous.

True, true. But as for the Realms, you have a point. We've been told that there are sixteen Realms, and so far we've seen . . lemme count off. Ninjago. The Underworld. The muddy place where Garmadon went to become powerful. Chima. The Cursed Realm. Djinnjago. The Realm of Oni and Dragons. Unless I've missed something, that's only seven. Less than half. And there was that whole thing in Skybound about every member of Nadakhan's crew being banished to a different realm. We never saw where they went. There's a lot of untapped possibilities there.

Oh look, it's Ducky Momo! Seriously, was this actually in the movie? I know I saw something similar in Lego Dimensions, but . . . seriously? Wow. XD

This. There had better be a return of the double decker couch, or we will riot. Or! Even better! What if this movie gives us what we never knew we needed but always have? A TRIPLE DECKER couch! -
So I'm wondering if it's possible to squeeze the Creator Pirate Rollercoaster into my village somewhere. Whether or not I can will probably decide whether or not I get it. Which brings me to the question; are there any ways people who already have the set have discovered to make it more ergonomical? Modding it to incorporate other things around, under or over it? So that it takes up less space? Please advise!

That is totally awesome. I might do something similar if I get the Pirate Coaster.

Well, it could be a tie-in to the Architecture Statue of Liberty. (Which I would love to have for my village but know the price tag has too many zeroes for me to ever even think about.) And there's also the Dimensions possibility - the content in Lego Dimensions based on The Lego Movie was set post-movie, in a world that was unmarked by the Duplos. (Well, mostly - some stuff had to be rebuilt.) Part of the plotline of Dimensions involved Lord Vortech trying to destroy the heroes during their search for a Flux Capacitor in 1885 Hill Valley by basically dropping everything he could think of on top of them. This included Metalbeard's Sea Cow, the SHIELD Helicarrier, the Kwik-E-Mart, and the Statue of Liberty (among other assorted interdimensional detrius). I mean, that statue had to come from somewhere. And I suppose it might have been from the Ghostbusters dimension (and, by that logic, the Sphinx might have come from Doctor Who), but . . . well, if it came from somewhere, it had to go somewhere. And Bricksburg is as good a place as any. Y'now, I really like this explanation. I think that, unless the movie offers something else, I'll consider it a headcanon, if nothing else.

But then the issue becomes how to represent the made-up fake brand in actual toys. Are they going to create an entire set of moulds of official bricks that aren't branded with the Lego logo but are otherwise indistinguishable from real ones? Wouldn't that cause a massive uproar among the AFOL community? And since these molds would probably become redundant after the movie, that would just be wasteful. Pas interesting as it would be to see official Lego fighting fake Lego, it's probably not gonna happen. -

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This speculation is all good and well, but you're all forgetting one thing; the title. I do not believe that 'The Second Part' is just a name. I fully expect that that the Piece of Resistance was 'The First Part', and this 'Second Part' is going to be something of near or equal significance. The colour is in our favour too - the primary three colours for classic Lego bricks are, in order, red, blue, yellow. The logo for The Lego Movie was primarily red, and so was the Piece of Resistance. But the parts they added for the sequel, 'The Second Part' and the big '2', are in blue. This is not a coincidence. Just as Emmet 'made the Piece of Resistance found from its hiding place beneath the ground' in Bricksburg, there'll be a Second Part somewhere, maybe in the SiStar System, that has to be recovered and used for some purpose. I bet this is why Sweet Mayhem captured all the heroes; she heard about their exploits against Lord Business and thinks they can help her retrieve The Second Part from wherever (maybe the Duplos) for whatever (no doubt somehow saving the world). Which would mean she's not actually evil - which is good, because it would kind of undermine the 'boys-&-girls' thematic if Sweet Mayhem, the character who is emblematic of Finn's sister, was the villain. Hold on. Hold the freaking phone. Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi (kickass name, BTW) is a shapeshifter? Is this confirmed? Man . . this'll be exciting. Maybe she'll be brick-built, like Unikitty, and include a bunch of extra parts so that she can be rebuilt in a variety of interesting ways? Ooh, maybe she'll be related to Unikitty? -
So apparently Minecraft Brickheadz is going to be a thing. Why?
