  1. Ooh, now those sound like they might be good. Though I am curious as to how the 'stuck in ice' thing will work; will it be the animal moulds with a brick-built prison of trans blue bricks built around them? Or something more specialised? Because a mammoth would be a big thing for something like that; they might have to make cliff face pieces in trans blue. And those would be excellent additions to my Winter Village.
  2. In fairness, basically the only vehicles in the entire Harry Potter franchise are the Hogwarts Express, the Ford Angelia, and Sirius/Hagrid's motorbike. That said, I am looking forward to a big Whomping Willow, preferably with the secret passage underneath it. The Shrieking Shack is probably a bit much to hope for, though. You know what I really wish they'd put in a set, though? The Hungarian Horntail. Maybe in 2019 . . .
  3. Oh wow, this seems brilliant. I have very fond memories of playing as an Adventurer and a Summoner for Venture League and Assembly, and Dr. Overbuild still ranks as one of my all-time fave LEGO characters, right up there with Jay Walker and Clutch Powers. I love the idea of some sort of legacy L-Universe (as I liked to call it) set or celebration or, anything really. Also, you should really add Baron Typhonus/The Darkitect to the poll. I'd love a minifigure of him. If you are designing models, I can't wait to see how it goes down and would be totally willing to help if you need - personally, more than anything else I'd love to see models of the Venture Explorer (truly, gone before her time) and the Nexus Tower (complete with the Imagination Nexus) in all their glory. Just food for thought. ;)
  4. Has someone actually seen a picture?
  5. That would be pretty cool, though I would hope that it would be configurable like the most recent Hogwarts. I think it was 2010 or 2011. Plus, all the parts need to be able to be combined together, for one massive super-structure that diehard collectors can assemble.
  6. I'd love a good-looking bookshop for 2018. Here's hoping.
  7. Oh yeah, the new armour parts have always been one of the best things about Nexo Knights. Y'now, since it's a fan term and they'll probably have a different name in the show, we should probably stop calling them Virus Vampires . . . though it does have a good ring to it.
  8. Ooh, yes, I'll add all those to the list. :) Plus the Potions supplies cupboard where everyone steals their Boomslang skin.
  9. There's a small problem with that. Let me list off all the different parts of Hogwarts that they'd have to include to make a 'complete' Hogwarts, even if you exclude the Quidditch Pitches and Hagrid's Hut: The Great Hall Gryffindor Common Room Slytherin Common Room Ravenclaw Common Room (Hufflepuff Common Room? It never actually appeared in the books or movies so . .) Potions Classroom Transfiguration Classroom Charms Classroom Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom (complete with office that can be customised depending on whether Lupin or Umbridfe is in residence) Outdoor Grounds Divination Tower Astrology Tower (where Snape killed Dumbledore) Herbology Greenhouses The Third-Floor Corridor on the East Wing (complete with Fluffy) All the rooms of challenges between Fluffy and the Philosopher's Stone The Chamber of Secrets The Room of Requirement (which can be changed out to match the DA HQ, the Hiding Place, or Dumbledore's room of chamberpots) Dumbledore's Office Slughorn's Office The courtyard where Umbridge fired Trelawney and was humiliated by Fred and George The massive bridge between Hogwarts and the open grounds where Hagrid's hut is (as seen in the movies) At least three secret passages out of Hogwarts, including the one-eyed statue one. (Don't remember the statue name, sorry.) Hospital Wing Kitchen of the House-Elves Filch's Office Girls' Bathrooms Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom Library Prefects' Bathroom Clock Tower (though this could probably be merged with the Astronomy Tower) Quad Battlement Catwalks Potions Supply Cupboard (complete with enough Boomslang skin for both Hermione and Barty Crouch Jr.) And I'm sure there's stuff I've forgotten. Plus this isn't even counting stuff like Hagrid's Hut, the Whomping Willow, and Aragog's lair. Do you see the problem? If LEGO tried to cram ALL of that into a single minifigure-scale set, even a D2C, then they'd probably blow the 2017 Mega-Falcon out of the water as the biggest Lego set ever. There will never be a single official set that comprises all of the elements of Hogwarts together - Hogwarts is simply too big. That's why the modular approach of having elements of Hogwarts in separate sets that can be combined together works so well; it lets people get the parts that they want without having to shell out for everything else, and still enables diehard collectors with cash to burn to get everything and create a 'complete' Hogwarts.
  10. Ooh, take pictures of the back and underside of Azari's lion. I want to know what I have to do in order to attach the Fire Chariot from last year to it, and if I'll have to make it larger. I'm probably gonna attach a ball joint to the end of the black harness part to make sure it's flexible. (I don't like single-part moulded horses like the one that came with that chariot. The moveable wings make it a little better, but not much. It's gonna look so much cooler with a brick-built, poseable lion with flaming wings pulling it!) Also, are those actually wings on the lion or I see it just a weird sort of mane? I can't tell, and a closer look would be greatly appreciated. :) Unfortunately, releases are always delayed, and it'll be a couple of weeks at least before I can get it in Australian stores. But I want to be ready.
  11. Oh, that old movie. From back before Maleficient was cool. Right. How 'silly' of me. (Sorry if I sound salty, I didn't like that one much and have done my best to eschew it from memory.)
  12. When did Maleficient do that? Yeah, it has. Don't remember where though . . .
  13. Aww, jealous. And to think there was a time when I hoped I might get three so that I could have a full set of three Harpies. (They should not have made them an exclusive minifigre. -.-) Now I'll be lucky if I find one.
  14. I don't know what you're talking about. Where I am, Nexo Knights has always been pretty popular. (With the exception of those 'Ultimate' sets from last year, but they were a pretty weak effort TBH.) I haven't even seen a Battle Suit set on the shelf in months, and I missed out on getting a Heligoyle for myself because I waited too long for a Christmas sale and then they all sold out while I wasn't looking. And when I say 'they all', I don't just mean 'all the Heligoyles'. I mean ALL of my local shops' NK stuff. I remember walking into Kmart and thinking, "Wait, where did all the Nexo Knights go?" because there was just a massive area next to Ninjago and Marvel Super Heroes where the shelves had been picked clean. DOA? They'll be hotcakes. Especially Tech Wizard Showdown and Berserker Bomber (the clear best two of the wave and my top priorities).
  15. They are reintroducing the blue 32x32 baseplate in 2018 . . maybe they'll include two baseplates, one grey for the land part and one blue for the ocean part, and build a long dock out along both of them to fit the Bounty? So it'll actually be a 32x64 footprint?
  16. {Looks around at everyone else and shrugs} She's got a point, people. This is kinda pathetic.
  17. Nope, it definitely does, which is brilliant. Fabric wings are always good.
  18. No one really thinks that Nexo Knights is going to continue onwards into 2019. Most of the arguments have been over whether or not there'll be a summer wave.
  19. So, I just saw DanTDM's playthrough of the last chapter of Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2, and I had a thought. Lego Minecraft has to be running out of ideas by now, right? I mean, basically the only Minecraft structures that we haven't gotten in a set yet are Desert Temples, End Cities and Woodland Mansions. (And I'd be immensely surprised if at least one of them didn't show up during the 2018 Summer wave. Probably two; an End City the same size as The Ocean Monument, and a Desert Temple to the same scale as Crafting Box 2.0.) Plus, one of the only things that basically ALL Lego Minecraft fans can agree on is that we need more player characters, since everyone's sick or Steve and Alex. So . . why not make Minecraft Lego sets based on Minecraft: Story Mode, instead of just vanilla Minecraft? Having suitably blocky minifigures of Jesse, Lukas, Petra, Olivia, etc. would satisfy people's desire for more 'player character' minifigures, and there's plenty of potential for sets. The Order of the Stone's old castle, the Sunshine Institute, Ivor's Far Lands hideout, Jesse's old treehouse, Harper's secret laboratory in Crown Mesa, the Old Builders' tournament arena, the fight against the Wither Storm - heck, imagine a D2C set in the same scale as The Mountain Cave based on Beacontown! It would be incredible.
  20. Hey, so I was rewatching the Secrets of Elvendale Netflix series, and saw the part where they were riding the Fire Chariot - and they mentioned that the Chariot was (in-universe, at least) designed to be pulled by her dragon. Now, obviously this is impractical with the toys, because the Fire Dragon toy is so much larger than the chariot. But 2018's Fire Lion looks a lot smaller than the dragon. Soooo . . . does anyone think that modifying the chariot and lion so that they can be attached together might be feasible?
  21. Ooh, a set based on Newt's suitcase? Now that sounds cool . . . though the 'buildabie suitcase' thing is a little nerve-wracking. It sounds like they'll use an unnecessary amount of parts for that, which could easily drive up the price . . .
  22. That would be interesting . . . I do like the idea that all Light-elemental elves could transform.
  23. Something that still irritates me to no end. It should not be this hard to get my own personal giant destructive stone monster!
  24. Not that that's hard. After all this time, the ninja have to be approaching thirty. Or at least twenty-five.
  25. I'm looking forwards to the Fantastic Beasts sets the most. I like Newt and Tina and Queenie a lot more than the original HP cast. That said, it's possible that Hogwarts Castle will be a setting in the new FB movie; so maybe they'll do something like the UCS Mega-Falcon, and include characters from both eras? We could see Newt and Harry, and maybe two separate versions of Dumbledore, standing shoulder to shoulder! :)
