  1. Some posts got edited, adding IC tags in case somebody is confused.
  2. [IC]You are also not responsible for a newspaper and its accuracy. Somebody else is, and he has to take responsibility. [/IC] P.S.: Just to make this clear: I am stirring up IC drama here, nothing more. OOC I am well aware of the little mistake and its likely origin - and to be honest I do not care too much. Mistakes happen all the time, this is nothing serious. @Capt Wolf does a phenomenal job with the KPA, which I appreciate a lot! Still, I will milk this as much as possible for IC shenanigans - and then some more.
  3. [IC]This does not change the fact that for the time being the KPA is spreading factually wrong information and is on a campaign of character assassination concerning the WTC. So far we are still waiting for an apology and compensation for pain and suffering. We only demand justice and fair treatment.[/IC]
  4. About 1/3 of the way done, looking forward to the rest.
  5. 8th day of the 7th month, 618, Mesabi Landing To the editor of the "Kings Port Adviser and Ship List", it has come to our attention that you have included incorrect information in your most recent issue. In particular, you have written: If you had done your work properly, you would know that Captain Ansa Mesabi, while being the sister of our glorious leader Count Mesabi, is in no way related to the WTC. Combined with the insult aimed at our honourable organisation, we can not let this stand. By this time next week we demand a correction of this misinformation and expect an apology from you. We also demand 250DB each being paid to Captain Ansa Mesabi and the WTC as compensation for the immaterial damage caused by your slander. Expecting cooperation on your part, with kind regards, Kadeus Mordo, WTC ============================================================== @Capt Wolf Captain Mesabi is played by Mesabi, the WTC has its own account - payment should go to each account respectively.
  6. A great write-up as always, entertaining, informative, with some obvious mistakes and some wilful fake news inserted - still fun to read! Many thanks for the efforts once again, especialy it being done so fast.
  7. Behold! For in a dramatic change of events our heroes are persued by a white-haired monstrosity of the north!
  8. When a WTC expedition to the far North of the Brick Seas recently found a drifting ship, it turned out te be a class 4 whaler from Namere, named "Nipper". Going by its ornaments, the ships captain must have been very successful in the past, or maybe just lucky. The crew had not been so lucky, for all of them had died from food poisoning before the WTC had found and taken the ship. The ship came equipped with two rowboats and a lower deck with all the necessary equipment for hunting whales (hrpoons) and processing their parts (oven and pots to cook the fat) plus storage room for barrels of whale oil and bones: . With "nipper" meaning both a tool for clipping as well as a young boy, the figurehead shows both: The model has a full interior, with a fully furnished captains cabin, and a removable upper deck to show the lower deck: The "Nipper" is now sailing under WTC colours and manned by its infamous Black Squad: For some more pictures check out my current AMRCA post. As always, C&C are appreciated.
  9. Chapter III - Further North (?) The journey northwards had gone on for a long while now. Temperatures were dropping every day, just last week the "Cranky Parrot" had passed some small sheets of floating ice. The sea had become full of fish - much to the joy of the crew, some fresh food again! - and whales had become a common sight. One evening, Mr.Thaum had just fed the parrot some of his infamous drink, he shouted out: "Ship sighted!" Captain Riley grabbed a telescope and checked... . ... "Quite a big one, could be a class 4. I can make out no living crew, she seems to be drifting..." the Captain noted "... and under Nameren colours." . Since Captain Riley had already spotted a skeleton from afar, it was decided to get close and enter the ship. Pip gave the orders to Black Squad: "Listen here, I do not want any surprises. Check that thing front to back, top mast to keel - if anything moves, you shoot first!" The last part of the order turned out to be unnecessary though... Every last member of the previous crew had long been dead: From the bridge... ... to the main deck... ... not a single living soul had remained. The ship had been a whaler, for on the lower deck all the equipment necessary to hunt whales was found. Going by the barrels full of whale oil and crates filled with whale bones, the hunt must have been very successful - not that the hunters could tell the tale anymore. . Meanwhile, in the captains cabin, Old One Eye reported to Pip: "Checked the logs we are standing aboard the Nameren whaler "Nipper". As for the crew, those damn fools ate some rotten meat by accident. All died from food poisoning. Their last position was about 50 miles west from here, right in the middle of nowhere. The maps show no land hundreds of miles near our current location. I would not trust a Nameren as far as I can throw him, but if there was anything nearby I am sure they would have charted it. So what now?" Pip replied: "Well, I do not want to freeze to death, and sure as hell we will not hunt for whales! Let the men trim the sails for now, we will decide this tomorrow." ========== The next morning, an iceberg with some seals on it drifted by the "Nipper"s larboard side. "I think we could all use a hearty breakfast." Pip commented, "Jolly, jump over and get 'em!" And so he did... . The ovens previously used to cook the whale oil proved to be more than adequate to prepare seals. "It tastes like chicken..." . With full bellies (and a good remaining supply of roasted seal) the decision between Pip, Old One Eye and Captain Riley had come to the following decision: they would keep the "Nipper", and sail both ships to the East from now on. With no land nearby, trusting the Namerens maps to the West (since that is were they came from) and minimal chance for success in the North, there was still hope for the best eastwards. They "Cranky Parrot" would be manned by its crew, the "Nipper" was sailed by the WTC Marines of Black Squad. Together, both ships were now... eastbound. ==================================================================================== I chose "Secure the vessel" and "Weren't we going north? ...". From the current position the course has been set to the East. If there are any questions, please just ask. For more pictures of the "Nipper", check its own thread here. As always, C&C are appreciated.
  10. So you are saying that we are all waiting because you are lazy?! Hang him! But only after he has deliverd... Seriously though: good job from everybody involved. Keep up the good work!
  11. Sweet little build, with subtle deteils. Me likey! Use the regular form for licensing land properties, pick "small" and "mine"; the next page gives you the option to select "prospect". Everything else works as usual.
  12. Great! Thank your very much, the generosity is appreciated.
  13. Open question here: can this extended deadline be applied to my AMCRA as well? Due to the stress of last week I originally planned to just skip this turn, but finishing the builds (mainly a class 4) until Friday would not be a problem for me.
  14. Bringing the thread up to date, the following builds have been added to Mesabi Landing: The Royal Shipyard of Mesabi Landing, including the Executive Offices: .. Harbour Administration: Small dock: Agnes Mesabis private chapel: The Paradise Isles Cup: Prospecting by Golden Jack: The OP is updated accordingly.
  15. I forgot to upload two "wide shots": Before the game starts... ... and during the match.
  16. Great idea, but I agree with @Mesabi: there is already a lot in the game already. Some of the things missing - like the land combat rules - definitely should be implemented and ironed out first. The answer to closed ports or taxes should be for everybody to decide: do I want to play along, or do I take actions to counter it? You are not forced to sail into anto a harbour with taxes, and every settlement is free to set up their own. On the other hand, tax-free ports are much more attractive. You should also keep in mind (taking Oleon as an example): Oleon ships only sailing into Oleon ports (because they are not taxed) means that those same ships do not sail into other ports, taking "pressure" off other settlements. Does this resemble a "trade war"? Of course it does, it is the very definition of one. It also makes for some good stories though. And who knows? Trade wars can easily devolve into real wars, so we have interesting times ahead of us anyway.
  17. The big windows would work great as the top level for an office building. Put a long table with multiple seats inside, make it the meeting room for the management. The floor below has smaller offices, the ground floor has a big entrance hall. Add details as wanted.
  18. Damn, quite an impressive rowboat! Seriously though, good work. Building a ship of this size is no easy task, and she looks proper all around. Is there an interior? As for taking her apart: you could do a variety of shots with crew and/or some of your character(s) now, for possible later uses. It would be a shame to finish such am amazing model and not use it in some way. Eh, does not sound like a bad prospect to me. I hope you all have a good time.
  19. @Bregir If there is anything left unclear, or if you have questions about the pirate hideout (or want additional pictures of it): please just ask. I need certain parts from the big build soon, but for now it is left intact.
  20. Chapter 5 Part 2: Plans unfurling Weeks before the Red Rascals ran into Captain Angles trap, the party around Captain Wilbern had scouted the pirate hideout from the seaside. The WTC Drunken Dragon was sailing in view of the coast... ... with Columbo isntructing Captain Wilbern were to look: . And there it was! Carefully hidden in the overgrown cliffs, with barely noticable lookout spots. A cave below seemed to have been hidden behind sophisticated camouflage. According to Columbos report, this part could be raised to allow the Red Rascals boats to enter or leave the hideout: Captain Wilbern gave his orders: "Columbo, we will land you together with some Marines on the other side of the island. You will get Mackies Miracle Machine into place for the time we need it - you will cut off the pirates escape route on land. We are almost out of explosives, but with the firepower at your hands you will make short work of any minifig trying to leg it through the jungle. The rest of us will join forces with theGreen Viper and the Icarus Returning once get here. We have send the Viper back to call for more guns on the sea, and they should be back in time for our big finale." What is Mackies Miracle Machine you ask? Well, they had brought a "surprise" with them - now was the time to use it! ====================== Oblivious to their impending doom, life inside the pirates nest went on as usual. "Man, watching those waves is hella borin'! Gimme sum of yars!" . Another Red Rascal had nothing better to do than to wait - in case the mechanism for the hidden cave entrance was to be used. Some bottles of rum were always nearby... . ====================== Now the time to strike had come. Columbo oversaw Mackies Miracle Machinery - a gun able to shoot up to 90 rounds per minute, obliterating anything in its view! The WTC Marine manning it was eager to see it in action, as were the others around him: With the path to the hideout blocked, and the waves ruled by the WTC armada, it was now up to Captain Angles standing at the Red Rascals doorstep to pose an ultimatum to those dirty pirates. @Mesabi will finish this.
  21. Wilbur Epper II. had been granted command of the HMS Hermes, on which he had now finally left King's Harbour. Nicknamed "Hornet" due to its striking colour scheme, the ship darted across the waves, bringing Epper closer to his first mission for the Royal Society of Navigation and Discovery. A fine ship indeed, the HMS Hermes was well armed for its size, and manned by a crew of able seamen and experienced marines of the Crown. Under a clear sky and with a steady wind in its sails, the "Hornet" was heading towards new adventures. ======================================================================== A class 3 ship, which will be Eppers personal vessel from now on. This MOC is using the main hull and the mast/sails from the old Imperial Flagship. Some other parts were also reused - I kept the steering wheel play feature for example - but it is a unique build and about 80% my work. The idea was to cross the IF with visual elements from the Black Seas Barracuda - I am quite pleased with the result.
  22. This MOC has now been licensed as "RSND Dolphin" for the Royal Society of Navigation and Discovery.
  23. Simple, yet effective build, looking good. Should make for a solid freighter - lots of cargo space is obviously available.
  24. You will be missed, but I expect you to return bigger and better. Keep us updated on the new hobby room! Damn, this is usually nasty. Life happens. Keep your head up though!
  25. Not yet... Nowhere did the WTCM state that the SR are at war - just that they might be soon. You sound like if you can not believe I did my homework. The WTCM is a masterpiece of carefully dancing on the line!
