  1. Yay, even more medals is what this game really needed! Seriously though: good build. And given the ingame events, a logical conclusion in terms of story. Nicely done!
  2. Thank you. The big cannon is actually from a TLBM set - the colours fit Corrington, and it was just the right amount of "insane" for this build. Thanks, glad you like it. Thank you. I have used the turntable pieces for decoration before - easy to use, still looking good.
  3. West Shield - Minor Battery Delta While the most cannons of West Shield were set up in its main battery, there was a series of smaller batteries, each coonsisting of two towers with three 24-pounders each. These minor batteries - Alpha to Echo - covered more angles than the main battery and made it impossible for any approaching ship to remain unseen. Or, in case of an attack, not to be fired on. Not linked to the main fort directly, the minor batteries were manned by WTC Marines: . ======================================================================== A view from above:
  4. Thanks! Thank you. Glad you like the variety, that was the intention. Thanks. This guy is not related to the WTC.
  5. "Royal Society of Navigation and Discovery".
  6. In terms of money, I am sure your faction can help you out. If not, I am willing to help. The WTC appreciates your efforts against piracy!
  7. Nice and clean build, with a great (and hilarious! ) story alongside it. Well done, both of you! Things related to government and public administration tend to get classified as arts and culture. This would also come with the benefit of lower cost and higher yield for you (faction bonus of Oleon).
  8. West Shield - Main Battery Aligned to hit any enemy closing in on the harbour of Mesabi Landing, the main battery of West Shield consisted of over twenty 24-pounders. "Don't you think somebody might complain about the WTC flag flying over the Crowns colours?" "And if so... what are they gonna do about it? Throw some pebbles at us?" "Inspection time!" "Ah crap, I was just about to take a nap!" "Every level but the second got stairs. Guess where I am stationed? Second ###king level!" "We need new gunpowder up here!" ... "Don't ya worry, one of the guys is bringing it up already..." "Pff-pff. Join the WTC, they said. Pff-pff. You will see the Brick Seas they said. Pff-pff. Easy work and easy profits, they said. Pff-pff. I hate my life..." "What do you mean, you are hungry? You are a cat, go catch some rats!" ===================================================================== The second build is done! Here are some more shots of the whole thing: And some WIP shots under the spoiler (including the guardian beast):
  9. There are at least two buildings without numbers, below #18. One of them could be a chapel. It could just as well be included in the building of #2. @Mesabi?
  10. This ship has now been licensed as "RSND Eagle".
  11. Two short questions here: are militia accounted for with the new raid rules? And if so: how?
  12. Great character introduction indeed! Looking forward to their adventures! The three buildings are all nice builds, I like the variety you have achieved. The scholl is of course the best one, that roof is looking excellent. Are there any interiors?
  13. It is only the first of at least four builds, check the OP again.
  14. West Shield - Observation Point Watching the sea for approaching ships, some WTC Infantry stood guard on a watchtower of West Shield. Most of the time this was boring work. Some of the WTC Marines were more than a little grumpy about their duty, while others preferred to cheer up the situation with... undiclosed liquids: . Manning the massive 48-pounders were the WTC Artillery, who also appreciated a good drink should the opportunity arise: =================================================================== A wide shot: Birds view: A part of the front tower can be taken off for easy access to the cannons... ... which can be moved to any of the four gunports, and pivoted to cover multiple angles: . Two WIP shots under the spoiler: As always, C&C are appreciated!
  15. The Brick Seas are a rough place, that much is for certain. The Wayfarer Trading Company did its best to make them a safer space. But despite their succes in hunting down pirates, potential dangers were still everywhere. A war between Prio and the Sea Rats had just been averted, but oerall tensions were still high. Mesabi Landing had to stay safe. So it was decided to invest in a series of large fortifications, with the first one guarding the harbour. Three others would follow, being set up around the settlement, protecting it in all directions, shielding it from any attack. This first fortress was named West Shield: Observation Point Main Battery Minor Battery Delta Storage Level Mobile Defense ======================================================================= A large fortress for Mesabi Landing, licensed by the WTC. Build sizes are as follows: Observation Point: 32x32 Main Battery: 32x32 Minor Battery Delta: 16x32 Storage Level: 32x32 Mobile Defense: 16x32 It all adds up to 64x64, i.e. the footprint of a large fort. Each build is supposed to be one section of the fort, but not in the way that they would be combined into one single structure. Imagine that each of these is exemplary for similr structures in West Shield, and that there are parts of the fort you do not get to see. As always, C&C are appreciated!
  16. I remember the correct stats showing up in the Corrington fleet account sheet previously, so I doubt it has something to do with a double-license.
  17. I do not know why, but for some reason one of my ships - the "Nipper" - is showing up with completely wrong stats. Currently listed is: R10, M4, F4, C6, $10, H2. The correct stats are: R5, M2, F2, C3, $5, H1. I would not mind a class 9+ ship, but not by accident.
  18. An open window only makes sense from late evening to the morning - at any other time you are just letting the heat in. I can only support the suggestion of fans though: get that air moving! Other than that, if possibly: do a siesta (i.e. sleep during noon hours). Also try to get as much stuff as possible done during the cooler morning hours.
  19. If you had asked yesterday, I would have said yes - July was awefully slow for me. For now: no. Unfortunate timing. I suggest asking again close to the end of August, then I will know if I have unused licenses left.
  20. This must be an absolute record, well done!
  21. The latest additions to Mesabi Landing: Mesabi Landing Gamma School: The Yellerbelly Inn: Tuber's Shop'n'Farm:
  22. Ol' Tuber was as cunning as he was greedy. His tavern made a solid profit already, but he wanted to expand his business. With Mesabi Landing growing, why not set up a shop for locally grown food? If only that would not need a farm and workers to pay - but no! Ol' Tuber had a better idea... Thus "Tuber's Shop'n'Farm" was born, combining a small farm with a shop that sold its produce on site. So far, so common. The special feature with this one was, that each customers would harvest for oneself. They would pick up what they wanted, and paid depending on crop and weight. No workers to be paid for Ol' Tuber, quite the contrary - he made the people pay for this "privilege". Silly cityfolks! Today some salad was on offer (this time gathered by the old man himself, sold for a premium), as well as fresh eggs. To attract as many different people as possible, Ol' Tuber also sold his very own home-distilled schnapps (a family recipe, based on taters and some secret ingredients...). There were many different crops available - salad, pumpkins, beetroot, onions, carrots and of course taters. On top of that, chicken provided fresh eggs daily (and the occasional chicken...). Some dulouryberry bushes had been added just recently, but grew well - always a favourite with the kids! And finally, some imported goods were also up for sale, mostly apples and bananas. Both were popular, but did not grow well on Argentia. . . ============================================================================ Licensed as a large artisan for Mesabi Landing. I wanted to do something like this for a while, and despite the current heat I got it finally done. Yet another "boring" plantation was not what I had in mind, so I reduced the size of the "farm section" and included as many different crops as possible, while making the shop the focal point of the build. Around here this concept is pretty popular: gathering produce on your own, then directly buying it from the landowner/producer. As always, C&C are appreciated.
  23. It is a southern trader eager to do business with the WTC of course.
  24. Thanks, a reasonable solution.
