That is so cool! Great detailing work, I like the landscape with the cacti! -

Probably an obvious question, but I'll ask it anyway. For character story progression I would post that in my factions thread, right? -
Class 2 - HMS "Barracuda" [COR]
LM71Blackbird replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks! Now that you mentioned it, it does look a tad top-heavy... Yeah, the stern and bow of ships are one of my favorite things to build, there's so much detail you can add! More pirate-era stuff will be coming before the end of the month hopefully! -

I gotta say, you are all an entertaining group of Lego fans here at BOBS! That certainly made me chuckle! -
[MOC] Fantasy medieval house front

Thanks! Yeah, I can tell you put a lot of effort into that build. It really paid off. Landscapes are not my strong suit as you can probably tell from my models! Great build though! -
You could join Brethren of the Brick Seas, we have monthly building challenges! Make sure to check out the Corrington faction if want to join!

[MOC] Fantasy medieval house front

I don't think I could make something half as good looking, even if I had all the bricks in the world and a 1 year to do in! Incredible model, great details, and so cool looking! Keep up the fantastic work! -
Class 2 - HMS "Barracuda" [COR]
LM71Blackbird replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you very much! Thank you! I actually started with the trading ship from the old imperial trading post (set #6277). I then lengthened and widened the hull and completely redid the bow and stern. To accommodate for widening it, I used the large slopes at the front and back on both sides to give the ship a fuller look. Then I modified the mast from my brigantine (pictured in my signature below) to fit just right. I'm glad that you like it! Thank you! Yeah, I was never really happy with how they turned out. I may remove them before I picture it in anymore posts. Thanks for the feedback! I saw the crows nest design on another lego ship while browsing the internet, I had to modify it slightly for it to work in LDD, but I think it turned out great! -
To me, anything round built with lego is both hard to do and when done right, really impressive! This is one of my new favorite models, great work on getting the round shape perfect!

Man, that is awesome looking! Every angle shows some new details. My favorite is probably the mime getting arrested! Fantastic work!

HMS Naval Cutter "Barracuda" of the Corrington Navy Imperial Cutter (IC) The HMS "Barracuda was built at the start of the Juniper War in 607 AE. It was crafted completely out of wood from the Juniper Province as a sign of Corrington's ownership on the land. In the terrible conflict that ensued this little ship was to be a most notable annoyance to the enemies of Corrington. It's small size and fast speed allowed the Corrington Marines to perform several blitz attacks on unsuspecting seaport towns and ships, especially when painted black for night missions. It only boasted a broadside of two 4 pounders, but what it lacked in firepower it made up for with speed. After the Juniper war it remained in service until being de-commissioned in 615 AE to make way for newer ships. It was sent to an auction in Arlinsport and was promptly bought by a local fisherman - for a fraction of it's value - to be used for fishing and hauling small amounts of cargo for extra cash. The owner was about to scrap it after he no longer needed it, but a young adventurer named Lieutenant Nathaniel Brickford saw it in the harbor and offered twice what the scrapyard was willing to pay for it. He had heard many stories about this little ship from his father and grandfather (both veterans of the Juniper war), and he hoped he could restore this forgotten icon to its former glory. (OOC) I hope you enjoyed this ship's backstory! This is my first of many ship MOCs. I decided to make a small lightly armed class 2 naval cutter. Limited only by size (per the rules and wanting to take full advantage of my free license!), I think I have made a nice starting vessel for my journey on the Brick Seas. I don't really have too much to say regarding it. It mostly speaks for itself because everything about it is visible, so here are just some additional pictures of it. Enjoy! Questions, comments, and constructive criticism are always welcome!

Wow! Great looking micro build! I would be interested in seeing something like this in minifigure scale, however it would probably be to massive!

Awesome! Can't wait to see it!

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
LM71Blackbird replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ok, that won't be a problem. Just need to make some more renders! Thank you! Yes, I can think of a nice background story for my ship. I've already got some ideas flowing! -
Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
LM71Blackbird replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes, the Corrington history was really what made the choice easy. Powerful nation, ahead of it's time and other factions. I'm here to help keep it that way! Ok, I only did it because I did want to spend a week building just to make my story come to life. I have no intentions of using other peoples work moving forward, I'll keep it to only my own personal builds! Thank you for the advice! -

Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
LM71Blackbird replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ok, good to know! I figured I would start at Arlinsport first, get a ship, and then move to more populated (or less populated) island to really start my journey. Thanks for the info! Thank you! Yes, I tried to make my intro vaguely detailed so I could expand on it however I felt necessary. I will most definitely check out and read all of those resources! I will be sailing to one of those three "active" areas before to long. Yes, there is lots to take in! I'm sure it will take a few weeks to "fully" grasp everything going on around me. Thanks for all the help! Thanks! I think I'm going to have lots of fun in building and story telling. Thanks again for the warm welcome! -

Lieutenant Nathaniel Brickford of the Corrington Marines. by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Nathaniel Brickford was born to the well-to-do parents of Major Richard Brickford and Eleanor Edwards. His father was a veteran of the 49 years War, before settling down on a farm in Northern Corrington to raise corn. Nathaniel grew up in a time of peace during the Second Era, so education and the learning of a trade were his parents main concern for him. Nathaniel worked on the family farm for his entire life. by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Nathaniel turned 18 shortly after the death of his grandfather, who was a Captain in the Royal Guard. He decided to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, so he enlisted in the Queens Royal Guard at 19. by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr He Left home shortly after to assume his new duties. He trained and worked hard to advance to the rank of Corporal in the Royal Guard. by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr At the age of 20, Nathaniel started to get a hunger to explore the new world. When the time came to re-enlist, and he heard news of a group of marines who were being shipped off to protect the interests of the Crown, he immediately enlisted in the Corrington Marines and received a commission as a Lieutenant for his service in the Royal Guard. As the sole heir to his family's fortune, he did not even need to work to live a comfortable life, however he had a desire to make a name for himself. BOB 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Shortly after landing in Arlinsport, he purchased an old Naval Cutter (with the money his parents insisted he take) called the HMS "Barracuda" for the purpose of sailing around the Sea of Storms. He had started his quest that was sure to take him on many adventures and hopefully bring great wealth and a prosperous life. Imperial Cutter 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr (OOC) This is my character and base storyline. I would like to participate in the GBS (I think that's the term for in-game money??) and grow to be an affluent subject of the Crown. I read in another post that most people start in Arlinsport, but I was never able to find a map showing it, any help would be appreciated in that department. Not really sure what else to say, so thanks again for all the help and I look forward to seeing you on the Brick Seas as I sailing for Corrington! Oh, one more thing. The first, third, and fourth pictures are not my original work. I found them of LDD gallery and thought they would fit my story nicely. Just thought I'd mention it. Thanks again! -

So I'm almost ready to join, I just need to write my intro (I've got some nice renders to help my story flow nice, hopefully!). I understand that I would get a free class 2 ship license, just wanted to make sure this would be an acceptable build? It is a Naval Cutter with four 4-pound cannons. Thanks again! I'm hoping to write my intro tonight! Imperial Cutter by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr -
Thanks! I found this tutorial and figured it out! I used the bb code, click the share button and you should see an option for it. If you follow the tutorial it isn't to difficult. I was surprised how simple it actually was! :)

render lego
LM71Blackbird replied to cycy76's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If your looking for great render quality then I recommend using bluerender. It's what I use on all my digital models. It is super simple and easy to use. You can check it out at this post:
