  1. I have tons of Legos. The last set I bought however was probably in 2015 in the forest police line. Next to that I have a sizeable Nerf collection and a couple hundred matchbox and hotwheel cars that I've been collecting since I was really little. I also like doing the Metal Earth laser cut steel models, I've got about 7 of those right now.
  2. Nope, your doing everything right. For some reason only known to Lego they have decided to remove the old LDD Gallery and download feature. So now, unfortunately, there is now more LDD gallery as we once knew it... You can still get these LXF files if someone has uploaded them to dropbox though, so maybe you can see if that is something the creator can do for you. Hope that helps you out!
  3. Nicely built building/railway! Not sure how Mesabi and Drunknok will like the portrayal of the WTC marines, but you gotta tell the truth...
  4. Nicely built scene LB! I really like the rocks with the water crashing up on them.
  5. Man, this is one spectacular looking model! Fantastic details and just all around great design work. Congrats on being featured on the front page and I hope everything works out in your personal life.
  6. Nicely done Legotstone! Great looking micro landscape!
  7. Ok, well at least there's progress! Yes, I thought the IFS style gunports would look good, but it was a bad design choice on my part. I will fix that before I post more Wip photos. Yeah, you'll need Pov-ray and another program called LDD to Pov-ray converter. There are tons of tutorials online you can checkout to help. Here are the links to check them out: LDD to Pov-ray convertor: http://ldd2povray.lddtools.com/ Pov-ray: http://www.povray.org/
  8. Another sweet looking ship Capt Wolf! I like the bow on this one!
  9. Oh! From a different angle the tile look much better! And I gotta say, I really like your stern! The slopes next to the gun ports... I was going for a Imperial Flagship look, but it didn't quite work out... after I did it though I just decided to commit to it... probably not one of my better choices... right along with the barber poll color scheme as well... Changing the curve towards the stern will be easy to fix. No need to apologize about the stern! It does indeed look pretty bad at the moment... That shouldn't be a to difficult to fix though. I will admit it is a pretty ambitious project. Smaller vessels are quite a bit easier to build but I do like a challenge. My original goal was to have a couple of behemoths in reserve until I can afford them or perhaps sell them to my faction as needed. While not the most practical ships, no one would consider attacking you in it!
  10. So far I think that looking pretty good! I assume the bricks sticking out are only temporary right? I like how your doing the gun ports. My only suggestion is to try Pov-ray... that's the only program I know of that will keep the transparence. The only down side is that I hear it takes forever to render trans pieces... like in the range of several weeks... Ok, so I've done some revisions on the hull and widened it as well as sloped and staggered the gun ports. Here is what I came up with: SOTL4 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr SOTL5 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Here what I have for the bow so far. I have yet to change the bowsprit. SOTL6 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Here what I've got so far for the stern and stern castle. The rudder is kind of pathetic right now, so I will be working on that as well. 11. Nicely built house Bart! I like the entry-way and that's a cool way to use those seaweed pieces.
  12. St. Petersburg, Russia? I've always wanted to visit there... Yeah! I once made a 10k piece model and the laptop I had was not made to handle it... Per the advice of Bregir and Legostone, I'm going to try widen it a bit to try and make it look more proportional. Sounds, good to me. I've still got some re-design work to do before I add any sails though... Thanks again!
  13. Well, I'm not talking about just copy and pasting it. I would have to remove all the gun ports and change the hull up a bit. It would be similar but still a different ship. LOL. I've been using LDD for about 8 years now. I start back when you could still buy the models you built!
  14. Ok. I see what I can come up with in the curves department. Thank you! Thank you very much! You both have been most helpful! I will spend to time adjusting the build accordingly. Ok, I mess around with that a little bit as well!
  15. Neat and entertaining little build!
  16. Beautiful ship Spud! She should serve the crown quite nicely!
  17. Lol, yes. It is especially fun when the model is several thousand pieces... Every time you load up LDD you just hope it doesn't crash on you! While yes, there are tons of designs, at least half of them wouldn't work for the time period. It would look quite odd to have minifigs walking around with bullet-proof vests on! And it can be pretty intensive to try and look at them all. I eventually just made a LXF file where I picked every torso design.
  18. I've got another behemoth in the works (Don't worry @Bregir, I've got more small ones too!). I was inspired after seeing @Kolonialbeamter's class 10 ship, and while it may never look as good, I will certainly try! Here are a couple of pictures of it, the first one has the hull length for reference. She's pierced for 84 guns so far, but that number may increase after the top deck gets added. After I complete this one, I am planning on refitting it as a merchant ship as well. C&C are appreciated! 19. Beautiful model! And in my favorite color! Terrific job on all the details and styling. Keep up the great work!
  20. Looking much better! White is the only downside to Bluerender... I would consider using some of the 1x2 or 1x4 brick patterned bricks, and maybe throw in some light or medium stone grey to help break up the "white-ness". You could also consider putting some vines on the left wall to add some more texture and detail. 1920x1080p is usually fine for most pictures. I even do 1280x720 to cut down render time to around 1-5 minutes. LDD and Bluerender do get easier with practice, so keep at it! Hope that helps!
  21. Nice little vignette! Great work on the curtains and the windows!
  22. I'm liking your grey, green and black color schemed ships! They have a really nice look to them!
  23. Nicely built models! I throughly enjoyed looking through the pictures and reading your story!
  24. LOL! Yes, Bluerender is almost to easy to use! I knew it didn't look right as a barque, your right, she is a xebec. I'll probably wait until March before I officially post it, but then I think I could part with it! She was probably the most fun to build ship so far!
